  • 5. Introduction of the Mark Scheme Benefit 1 Feedback is specific • Students highlight what has been achieved producing relevant ‘tick’ feedback • Areas which haven’t been highlighted show what needs development- a clear target
  • 6. Introduction of the Mark Scheme Benefit 2 Feedback is focussed Direct reference is made to the spec both in the ‘tick’ and target
  • 7. Introduction of the Mark Scheme Benefit 3 Improvement Time is utilised • With more specific targets higher quality improvements can be made • Knowledge of the spec also improves
  • 8. Implementation • It does take time to go through the mark scheme initially, the language can be unfamiliar • However: – higher quality feedback – students fully involved in the feedback process – Knowledge of the exam spec can be utilised in the future
