13. Elective Choices
Each semester students take eight classes: math, English,
science, physical education, social studies, and German

Students need to select their electives for both the first
semester (August – January) and the second semester (January
– June). In order to fill the elective blocks/classes, students
must choose two electives for both semesters which may
consist of:
a) 4 semester courses
b) 1 year-long course and 2 semester courses
c) 2 year-long courses
14. Elective Choices

G Stanley Hall – borrowed the term Sturm und Drang (storm and stress) from the German Literary movement to describe adolescence. 3 key aspects were conflict with parents, mood disruption, and risky behavior. A time of angst and fickle behavior . . .
Our school may look very different to the school you went to . . . . That’s okay. We’ve learned a lot about good teaching and learning in the few years since.
We promote a very active learning process. Kids learn by doing more than listening, they learn through practice. Classrooms and learning opportunities extend way beyond the school building. Lots of field trips.
1 year, two semesters and 4 quarters.
