• A member of staff will read with your child
once a week

and put them on an appropriate level
• Please encourage independence: allow your

Assessment (PPA)
• All teachers get at least 10% of their working
time to plan, prepare and assess
• PPA time in Year One is on a Wednesday morning

• 3 exciting activities: Music composition, Forest
Schools and mental maths for the Autumn Term

11. How To Help Your Child
• Talk and Discuss! When talking with your child try to use
questioning and explaining language, such as, why, who, where, when,
how… I think this because….

• Open Communication: Dialogue. Please talk to us
about concerns before they become worries! After school is
usually best. We are happy to talk on the phone at
lunchtime. Please share successes and experiences with us.
