- 2. FUTURE PERFECT WILL +HAVE + PAST PARTICIPLE • Something will end at or before a certain time in the future. By four o’clock Friday, we’ll have finished all the exams. I’ll have finished the article by Friday, so I’ll email it to you then. They’ll have built a new terminal in six months’ time.
- 3. We use futureperfect with expressions like: by Saturday in two weeks in six months’ time within a decade or so by the middle of this century by the time we get there by the end of the year (not) in the near future one day in the distant future (not) in my lifetime in the coming decade
- 4. • We alsouse the futre perfect to say what we think has almost certainly happened by now. They’ll have left by now (I’m 99% sure they have left) You won’t have heard of it (I’m 99% sure you don’t know it) They won’t have left yet (I’m 99% sure they haven’t left)
- 5. SHOULD HAVE • Wecan also use it to show that we think something will happen before a certain point in the future, but we are not 100% sure. What time shall I pick you up? I should have finished by six or so
- 6. FUTURE CONTINUOUS WILL +BE + ING • An action will be in progress at a certain time in the future. I can’t make Friday. I’ll be attending a conference at uni. Don’t phone between 3 and 4 as I’ll be having a nap. This time next week I’ll be lying on the beach.
