Anhydrous Pyrolysis process can also be used to produce liquid fuel similar to diesel from plastic waste. Pyrolysis technology is thermal degradation process in the absence of oxygen. Plastic waste is treated in a cylindrical reactor at temperature of 300ºC – 350ºC. Now a day’s plastics waste is very harmful to our nature also for human beings. Plastic is not easily decomposable its affect in fertilization, atmosphere, mainly effect on ozone layer so it is necessary to recycle these waste plastic into useful things. Though work has been done to make futuristic biodegradable plastics, there have not been many conclusive steps towards cleaning up the existing problem. Here, the process of converting waste plastic into value added fuels is explained as a viable solution for recycling of plastics. Thus two universal problems such as problems of waste plastic and problems of fuel shortage are being tackled simultaneously. In this study, plastic wastes (High density polyethylene) were used for the pyrolysis to get fuel oil that has the same physical properties as the fuels like petrol, diesel etc. Pyrolysis runs without oxygen and in high temperature of about 300°C which is why a reactor was fabricated to provide the required temperature for the reaction. Converting waste plastics into fuel hold great promise for both the environmental and economic scenarios. Thus, the process of converting plastics to fuel has now turned the problems into an opportunity to make wealth from waste. The hazards of plastic waste is well known to us. The conversion of oil from plastic has dual benefits. First of all the oil produced can be used as a fuel for domestic purposes and also in vehicles and industries when further refined. Secondly the various types of pollution caused due to waste plastics can be minimized. Plastic in the first place is manufactured from natural gas specifically from ethane which is a constituent of natural gas. Therefore the waste plastic can be converted back into it. For the process of conversion a machine can be used which will heat the plastic to a temperature so that it melts and does not burns.

Abstract: The art of refining liquid hydrocarbons (crude oil) into diesel, gasoline, and fuel oils was commercially scaled decades ago. Unfortunately, refineries are technologically limited to accepting only a very narrow range of liquid hydrocarbons with very specific properties and minimal contaminates. Unrecyclable, hydrocarbon-based waste is a significant environmental problem increasing every year. According to the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2010Facts and Figures report, over 92% of waste plastic is not recycled and with a growth rate of approximately 8% per year, there exists a critical need for a viable and environmentally sound, general purpose hydrocarbon-based recycling process. Hydrocarbon streams that fall outside of accepted refinery standards have traditionally been land filled or melted into products of low value. Environmental concern and availability of petroleum fuels have caused interests in the search for alternate fuels for internal combustion engines. Conversion of waste to energy is one of the recent trends in minimizing not only the waste disposal but also could be used as an alternate fuel for internal combustion engines. Waste plastics are indispensable materials in the modern world and application in the industrial field is continually increasing. In this context, waste plastics are currently receiving renewed interest. In the present paper waste plastic pyrolysis oil, waste plastic pyrolysis oil of petrol grade and diesel grade and its blend with diesel and petrol respectively has been introduced as an alternative fuel. In this study, a review of research papers on various operating parameters have been prepared for better understanding of operating conditions and constrains for waste plastic pyrolysis oil of both grade fuel and its blends fuelled in compression and spark ignition engine.

CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.

3. SCOPE OF CONVERSIONOF PLASTICS INTO FUEL
In this scenario, my presentation aims to solve
the twin problem of environment pollution
due to plastic and the need for an alternative
fuel source.
The main aim is to find a solution to the
mountings problem of plastic disposal, for
which the plastics are converted into valuable
fuel.
5. DEMAND FOR FUEL
The present rate of economic growth is
unsustainable without saving of fossil
energy like crude oil, gas or coal. Thus
mankind has to rely on the
alternate/renewable energy sources
like biomass, hydropower, geothermal
energy, wind energy, solar energy,
nuclear energy, etc.
6. WASTE PLASTICS
• Waste plastics are one of the most
promising resources for fuel production
because of its high heat of combustion
and due to the increasing availability in
local communities.
• The conversion methods of waste
plastics into fuel depend on the types of
plastics to be targeted and the
properties of other wastes that might be
used in the process.
11. PRINCIPLE OF PYROLYSIS
• When the long chain of plastic polymers breaks at
certain points or when lower molecular weight fractions
are formed it is termed as depolymerisation.
• In the process of conversion of plastics into fuel, random
depolymerisation is carried out in a specially designed
reactor in the absence of oxygen and in the presence of
coal and catalytic additives.
• There is total conversion of waste plastics into value
added fuel products.
12. CATALYTIC CRACKER
Catalytic cracking is the breaking of large hydrocarbon
molecules into smaller and more useful bits.
The cracker must be designed in such a way that the
vapour from the reactor must have maximum surface
contact with the catalyst.
The catalyst will act as a molecular sieve which permits
the passage of small molecules.
The hydrocarbon molecules are broken up in a fairly
random way to produce mixtures of smaller
hydrocarbons, some of which have carbon-carbon double
bonds.
15. CONVERSION OF PLASTIC INTO FUEL
• The entire process is undertaken in a closed reactor
vessel followed by condensation process.
• Waste plastics while heating up to 2700 to 3000 degree
Celsius convert into liquid-vapour state, which is
collected in condensation chamber in the form of liquid
fuel.
• The organic gas which is generated can be used in dual
fuel diesel generator set for generation of electricity.
• The slurry liquid waste is topped down from the heating
reactor vessel.
