3. FIRST IDEA/MOCK UP OF MY FRONT COVER: My first idea includes one cover image which will be a headshot of my model and quite close up. The image I plan to be quite over exposed, in black and white, almost in a pop-art style where only the main features of the face and the image are distinct and are in black. I have the idea to only have one cover line on my cover as I like the simplistic and minimalistic style of covers, inspired by covers from magazines such as I-D Magazine. The cover line will be three lines, centred, with the text merged together through linked letters. I think the cover lines will be hints or titles of some of the main features of the issue. The masthead will be separated also into three lines and I have the idea for the name of the magazine to be ‘The…Issue’ where the name of the main featuring artist and cover star is inserted between ‘The’ and ‘Issue’, e.g. ‘The Jessie Issue’. The name could be written in a handwritten style using a tablet to create a ‘signature’ look to mimic and imitate the autographs music stars have to give out to fans etc.

5. SECOND IDEA/MOCK UP OF MY FRONT COVER: My second idea was to have a sort of Andy Warhol style quarter of four black and white, overexposed images of a band all next to each other. It is also inspired by the contact sheets of photographer David Bailey. This will mainly dominate the page, with only one cover line to keep the page having a simplistic design for the cover, in a centred position aligned with the masthead and barcode below. The images would be head shots from the shoulders upwards. I like this design but I prefer the other idea as it is more magazine-like and this design reminds me more of an album cover. Although, this is a good thing as it is a music magazine and will seem more music related.
