Three friends, a carrot named Rout, a cabbage named Cabb, and a broccoli named Colly, enjoy playing together on a farm. However, one day the farm owner picks all the vegetables, including the friends, to sell at the market. Though sad to be separated from their home, the friends take comfort that they remain together. They are purchased by a woman to make soup, so even in death the friends will stay united, showing that true friendship can withstand any hardship.

1. Friendship of Vegetables Soup
Once upon a time, there was a truck farm in mountainous area. There were some kinds of
vegetables, such as carrot, cabbage and broccoli planted there. All of those plants could speak,
move, run, dance, sing like a human. Carrot, cabbage and broccoli were a different kind of
vegetables. Although they were different, they loved each others. Carrots were orange, long,
pointed foot, and had green straight hair. Carrot’s family had a boy named Rout, he was smaller
than his family. Cabbages were white, big, and round, they walked by rolling their bodies.
Cabbage’s family also had a boy named Cabb. Broccolies were little green at their bodies and
had green frizzy hair. They had a little girl named Colly. Rout, Cabb and Colly were friend. They
were always together. They played, laughed, and ran together. Every time they were together and
nothing could separate them.
One morning, Colly and Rout were siting down under a big mango tree.They called him
Mr Mang. Colly and Rout were waiting for Cabb. They promised to meet and play together in
that place. “Where is Cabb? He is so long. Not he know that we are waiting for him?”, asked
Colly to Rout. Rout just lied down under the mango tree and kept silent, he didn’t answer the
Colly’question.
“Hey Rout, don’t be quiet! I ask you. Answer me!” Colly was angry.
“Ssstt... calm down, Colly. I think Cabb is still on the way. So please be calm and don’t
scream to me, I don’t like it!”, said Rout.
Mr Mang said, “ Hey little boy and little girl, why are you fighting? You disturb me you
know”.
“We are so sorry Mr Mang”, said Colly and Rout.
In the other place, Cabb was eating his breakfast on his dining table. He forgot that he had
a promise with his friends, Colly and Rout. Mrs Cabbage entered the dining room and saw at her
son. She said, “Hey boy, what are you doing? Why don’t you go outside to play with your
friends, Colly and Rout?”. Cabb startled and stopped eating when he listened to her mother about
Colly and Rout. Suddenly he remembered his promise, he jumped from his chair, he left his food
and ran out the room by rolling his body. He went to the field where he promised to meet his
friends.
In the field, Colly and Rout were still waiting for Cabb. Mr Mang which was so high saw
that Cabb was rolling and came there. Mr Mang said, “ Hey, look there! Cabb is rolling and
come here.” He pointed to northern with his branch. Then, Colly and Rout also looked at the
northern, they saw Cabb was rolling himself quickly.

2. After a while, Cabb came and panted. He stood by Colly and Rout. He seemed afraid if his
friends would be angry with him. “I am so sorry friends. Please don’t be angry with me. I forget
if we have promise until my mother put in mind of our promise.”, said Cabb to his friends. Colly
just kept silent, she didn’t respon. Then, Rout said, “It’s okay Cabb. Don’t worry, we won’t be
angry with you.”
“But why are you quiet Colly? Are you angry with me?”, asked Cabb to Colly.
“No, I am not. I don’t want to fight with you. We are friends, so I will forgive you.” said
Colly.
“Okay friends, we get on together now, so we will play football, won’t you?” asked Rout
to his friends.
“No,no,no,no,no...” Colly shouted. “I won’t. Not you know that I am a girl? I don’t want to
play football. What if we play a doll, cooking, or.....” Colly didn’t continue her speech yet,
because Rout cut it. He really didn’t want to play the game which were mentioned by Colly.
“No.. I don’t agree with you. Football is a good idea.” said Rout.
Then, they were fighting, but of course it was just an acting. Colly and Rout ran down, they
were chasing at the ground. While Cabb just looked at them and said, “I love you friends.” then
he also followed his friends. Cabb, Colly and Rout were chasing together, they looked so happy.
After a while, Cabb stopped running. “I am tired friends”, said Cabb. Then he laid under
Mr. Mang. Colly and Rout also followed Cabb to lay under Mr Mang. “Are you tired child?”
asked Mr Mang to them, but no one answered. They were asleep. The wind breezed around and
made them sleepy. They slept little long because of tiredness.
Suddenly someone screamed. “Aaaaaaaaa.....”. It was Cabb’s sound. Colly and Rout
startled and woke up. “What’s the matter Cabb?” asked Rout. “What’s wrong with you?” asked
Colly.
“I have a nightmare friends. Something terrible happen and make us separated. I’m afraid
friends. What if it will really happen. I don’t want it”, said Cabb to his friends.
Colly and Rout tried to calm their friend, Cabb.
“Don’t worry Cabb, it wil not happen. We are best friends, so nothing can separated us”,
said Rout.
Colly said, “Yeahh..Rout is right, it will be well, so don’t worry cabb!”

3. After that, their parents called them to return home, because it started dark. Cabb, Colly
and Rout walked together to their home while thought about Cabb’s dream. They were really
worried if the dream came true.
The next morning, the truck farm area was so quiet. No one went out from their house.
Suddenly there was a woman came to this farm. She was the owner of this farm. “Today is
harvesttime. I must pick all of my vegetables and sell them.” said the woman.
Then, the woman started to pick carrots, cabbages, and broccolies in her garden, Cabb,
Colly and Rout were also picked too. They were entered into a big sack by the woman. They
cried, they screamed, they wanted to get loose from the sack, but the woman didn’t hear them,
she couldn’t hear what they spoke.
Mr Mang looked the incident. He cried too, his tears left her eyes. He was sad to see his
friends. He said “ Ohh.. you are so pity friends, I am sad looking you cry. I hope you will be well
there.”
Then the woman brought them to a traditional market and sold them. The woman was so
glad because she got much money by sold the vegetables.
The next morning, in a kitchen, there is a big pan on a stove. The pan contained of water.
There were also some vegetables on the table, carrot, cabbage, and broccoli. They were Rout,
Cabb and Colly. That morning, a young woman bought them in the market. She wanted to make
a soup.
“I am so glad friends, although I will die, but we are still together.” said Colly.
“You’re right Colly, the young lady will cook us become a soup, so we will be still
together until we die.” said Rout.
“Yeah..friends. Yesterday, we gathered in a garden, and now we will gather in a soup
bowl.” said Cabb.
They cried but they were happy. That’s the end of the story. Friendship is a immutable, and
nothing couldn’t separate a friendship.
