This lesson is on RE verbs, which are the third most common category.French Regular -RE Verbs
The verb form that ends in -RE is called the infinitive (in English, the infinitive is the verb preceded by the word "to"). -RE is the infinitive ending.  The verb without the -RE is called the stem or radical. French Regular -RE Verbs
Les verbesréguliers en re au présent Example of verbs in re(vendre= to sell, répondre = to answer, perdre = to lose) this form of the verb is called the infinitive. The stem/radical of the verb is the infinitive minus the  re (example: vendre – re = vend)
Different endings are added to the stem for each subject. Infinitive of the verb vendre – to sell, I YOU HE/SHE WE YOU THEY

descendre = to get off
entendre = to hear
répondre= to answer
