Freedom and responsibility are interconnected. True freedom requires responsibility - the ability to make choices without considering their impact on others is not really freedom. The document outlines six steps to becoming a more responsible person: admitting faults, understanding consequences, apologizing, making amends, promising to do better, and caring for others. It poses several critical questions about balancing freedom and responsibility, such as when limiting freedom can be beneficial and what sacrifices may be required to maintain freedom.

Almost anybody you can ask has their opinion about everything. Their opinion may be true, untrue, proven or in doubt. It might be personal, conditioned by family upbringing, determined by situations, social background, culture, religion, or politics. But the fact remains that everybody has already made-up their minds about most of the things in life. These opinions are our schemas. For the purpose of simplicity, schemas can be described in the context of this article as a framework of interpretations of anything. In other words, everybody have their own framework of interpretations. If everybody have their own framework of interpretations, then open-mindedness is definitely not prevalent.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

4. Freedom :
The term “freedom” means many different
things to people, for some it means doing
exactly as they want without thinking of other
people.
To a person that lives in a country which is
controlled by an oppressive regime it can
mean not living in fear. To a child it can be the
freedom to choose what to eat or when to
brash his teeth.
5.
6. Freedom cannot be separated from
responsibility. With freedom comes
responsibility. It is common for many
people to seek freedom while trying to
avoid responsibility.
17. Critical Questions about Responsibility
1. What is the relationship between freedom and responsibility?
2. What is one way you could be more responsible person?
3. Think of the most responsible person you know, and why you consider him/her
a responsible person?
4. Should people sacrifice freedom in the interest of security?
5. Do you consider yourself to be a responsible person? Why? In what ways?
6. When is the restriction of freedom a good thing?
7. What are some benefits of being a responsible person at home, school or work?
8. What sacrifices people should make for freedom?
9. How do you benefit from the responsibility of others?
First of all, responsibility is a big word; its action is greater than its meaning. So, a person responsible for something means that holding others fortune or future in his/her hand. So conscience is the biggest part of the word responsibility.
Personal responsibilities like studying (which means we are responsible for our future).
# Family: we are responsible for our families and their future. We have to take it seriously and brighten the future of our children.
# Society: to be a good part of society means to be responsible for the development and improvement of our society.
# Environment: to take care of even a meter of our land and environment makes us good responsible persons.
When a part of certain thing is destroyed, we have to know that is like an infection, which means that our turn will come after that.
First step is admitting, whenever you did something wrong stop making excuses, you have to accept that what you have done is wrong. For example, if you fail in the exam don’t say that happened because the teacher hates me. But because you did not study enough.
Understanding: we have to think about the wrong actions we have done and should take lessons from them. Understanding prevents us from doing the same wrong action and makes us to act with more responsibility.
Apologizing: apologizing is one of the features of responsibility, when we did something wrong, and we admitted our fault an apology is required. So we have to apologize and feel regret for our faults
Promising: Promising and doing what we have promised show that whether we are responsible or not. So when we promise to someone we must fulfil our promise. We should be careful when we promise and we should not try to fix all the problems in the world.
Caring for others: Caring for others make us to act more responsible, because when you care for someone you will work harder and perform better to make them happy. So automatically you will act with more responsibility.
