This document provides instructions for sellers on Flipkart to create and manage freebie offers (also called promotions) on their products. It outlines the key steps which are: 1. Create a product group by selecting categories, brands and prices or uploading specific listing IDs. 2. Choose the freebie product from your active listings to bundle with the primary product. 3. Set the start and end dates for the promotion. 4. Publish the offer to make it live on the Flipkart website. 4. Freebie Offer Format
What is a Freebie offer?
When a customer buys your product, you can give a different product for free.
What is Primary Product?
Primary product is the one which you add a freebie to, you can also call it the main product.
What is Freebie Product?
Freebie product is the one which you would want to give it for free along with the primary product.
• Freebie product must be ACTIVE listing by the seller
• If the freebie listing doesn’t exist, seller needs to first create a listing & then enable the
promotion
What is Product Group?
Group of listings on which a seller is interested in running a promotion for.
Product group can be defined as a combination of (Vertical, Brand, Price) or a specific set of listings

To create a promotion we need to
first define a product group:
1. Select Verticals
2. Select Brands
3. Set the price range of
products on which offer needs to
be applied
This completes product group
definition & once promotion is
published, it will be live on all the
listings qualifying the above
criteria.

9. Step 2: Choose the Freebie from your active listings
1. Seller can lookup for a FREEBIE from
his ACTIVE listings only
2. Click on Lookup & select the product
(Refer next slide)
Enter the FSN/listing ID of the
product to search

specific set of listings, choose ‘Upload list
of products’ as an option given.
1. Click & Download the sample CSV file
2. Fill in the required details like Listing
ID & Upload the file to define a product
group of specific listings

Instructions for uploading listings:
Do not edit first two rows. Changing the
format will fail your upload.
 Give listing IDs from row# 3 and only
one Listing ID per line.
 A maximum of 50 listing IDs are
accepted at a time
After filling up the listing IDs, upload the file in below section & proceed to Step 2

his ACTIVE listings

Status Action Possible
Draft Indicates that promotion has been created but not published. Edit, Publish
Processing Indicates that promotion has been created & published but it is
still under system processing.
Edit, Disable
Upcoming Indicates that promotion has been configured by the system and
will Go Live on the start date mentioned during promotion
creation.
Edit, Disable
Live Indicates that promotion is LIVE and currently visible to the
customers
Disable
Expired Indicates that promotion period is complete and no further
action can be performed on that specific promotion
NA
Disabled This indicates that the promotion is disabled Edit, Enable

Publish On publishing, promotion gets scheduled for system to configure

EDIT Instructions
1. Seller can edit only brand/vertical/price
preferences.
For eg: If brands Samsung & Nokia were selected,
seller can choose to drop one of the brands or add a
new brand
2. If promotion was created by uploading listings
option, to edit the listings download the CSV & edit
the listings and re-upload the file
Note: While editing, seller cannot switch between brand/price/vertical based product group definition to
a listing based product group definition

Instructions to EDIT a Freebie
You cannot Edit the start date of promotion once it
is live.
Freebie cannot be edited. To change a freebie, a
new promotion has to be created after disabling the
current promotion

25. Freebie: Order Management
• All freebie order items will be shown right below primary products with a FREEBIE tag
• Actions like RTS / Cancel Order can be done only on the primary product.
• RTS/Cancel Order on primary product implies same action on the freebie product as well

26. Printing Invoice & Shipping label
While confirming the
order below details need
to be entered for
FREEBIE item just like
any other multi-item
order:
• Invoice#
• Serial/IMEI#
• VAT
• Invoice Date

27. Invoice format
• Billing details for both primary and freebie product will be available on “Invoice”
• “Promotional Discount” will have a negative entry, which will be equal to the worth of freebie +
Shipping charges ( for Freebie product )

28. Shipping label format
• Both Primary and Freebie
product title will be mentioned
on the shipping label for your
reference
• Order Item ID for both
primary and freebie product
will be available on the
shipping label
• You have to pack Primary and
freebie product together in
one shipment

29. Seller Using Bulk RTS
What is What?
• HAS OFFER = YES => Product has a freebie with it
• HAS OFFER = NO => Product doesn’t have a freebie with it
• HAS OFFER = N.A => Product is the freebie

30. In the current version of Freebie offer format, we will have below limitations
NOT FOR SALE freebie
In the current format, seller can issue an ACTIVE listing freebie only.
Active Listing Freebie
If seller has not sold the freebie on Flipkart in the past, he has to go through full listing
process before creating a freebie offer
No Freebie Vertical
Freebie has to be listed under one of the verticals defined by Flipkart
Multiple Freebie!
1. If seller wants to issue multiple freebies on same product, seller has to create multiple
promotions for the same listings
2. There is not a single view to see total list of freebies on a particular listing

31. Points to Note for Freebie offer
It is mandatory for sellers to ship the freebie item & primary product together in the same
package
Freebie item cannot be cancelled by the seller without cancelling primary product
Marking the primary product as RTS implies freebie item is also RTS
Once a promotion is created by defining a product group through
brands/verticals/price points, it cannot be switched to specific listing option
Seller cannot edit the start date after a promotion goes live.
