Promotional Transactions
To help increase your visibility and reach as a seller on Flipkart Marketplace, we have now come up with yet another initiative called the Promotional
Transactions. These transactions include offers and discounts to buyers that are now sponsored by Flipkart, either in part or full. While you will also
have the opportunity to share the discount expense in certain offers, there will be some sponsored exclusively by Flipkart.
Key benefits for you:
1. The discount amount will be paid to you at the same time as the original transaction and you don’t have to wait till the end of the month like other
online marketplaces.
2. There will be no service tax or TDS charged on the promotional amount.
How does this affect you?
1) Offer amount will be settled in a different transaction after deducting the applicable commission.
2) For sellers using our invoicing solution as part of our order fulfillment process a Debit Note will be generated towards Flipkart for reimbursement of
promotional discount
3) For sellers not using our invoicing solution the promotional amount would be reimbursed against a Credit Note
4) Your ‘Transactions’ tab and reports also have been enhanced for better visibility and understanding

Invoice
If you are using our invoicing solutions then the total amount is automatically bifurcated into the amount that buyer has to pay you and the
amount that Flipkart will pay you.
Debit Note
Important point to note.
This is where the Debit Note comes into picture.
If you are NOT using our invoicing solutions and are generating buyer invoices on your own, then the amount to be shown on this invoice will be
calculated as below:
(Item value + Shipping charges) x Quantity
In this case the amount on customer invoice should be (3500 + 20) x 3 = Rs.10,560/- as this is the amount paid by the buyer.
This total amount of Rs.12,810/- is what you are eligible to receive
from Flipkart and it includes our share of promotion.
Credit Note
Important point to note.
And this is where the Credit Note comes into picture.
1) Offer amount WILL be subjected to commission.
2) You WILL also have to pay any tax (VAT) on the promotional amount.
3) Order item value will be sale price plus Flipkart share.
4) Simply speaking, you will be charged commission on the order item value and you will be liable for any tax on the same
amount.
5) The Debit Note/Credit Note MUST not be sent to buyers. It is for seller’s internal records only.
6) Credit Note/Debit Note will be generated as part of the order fulfillment process along with the shipping labels.
7) For FA sellers, the Debit Note will be visible to you only if you download the PDF of all transactions. In case you download
the CSV file, then the Debit Note will not be included in it.
