Symbolism And Symbolism In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
A key aspect in writing an interesting story is having symbolism. It allows the reader to dive just a
little bit deeper into the meaning and core of the work. Birds are a fairly common symbol, serving as
representations of freedom, breaking free, and not afraid to be loud or to speak their minds. In Kate
Chopin s novella, The Awakening, birds are used to show Edna s true feelings and desires, to explain
the courage required to defy the standards, and to show Edna s final defeat. Many animals, especially
birds, seem to communicate in a language that only they can really understand. The novella starts by
setting a scene with the description of two birds who do exactly that. Chopin begins by stating, A
green and yellow parrot, which hung in a cage outside the door, kept repeating over and over: Allez
vous en! Allez vous en! Sapristi! That s all right! He could speak a little Spanish, and also a language
which nobody understood, unless it was the mocking bird that hung on the other side of the door,
whistling his fluty notes out upon the breeze with maddening persistence (Chopin 1). The green and
yellow parrot represents Edna Pontellier. She feels as if she is stuck in a golden cage with only one
other being who understands her. She has always had food on her plate and her husband provides a
stable income and life for her. The mocking bird represents Mademoiselle Reisz, because she is the
only other being who understands what Edna, or the parrot, is feeling and wanting to

Vincent Willem Van Gogh Essay
Vincent Willem Van Gogh, of Groot Zundert, France, was born on March 30, 1853, near the southern
Netherlands. He was noted as a troubled, erratic painter by David Sweetman, in his book Van Gogh:
His Life and His Times. Anna Cornelia Carbentus and Theodrus van Gogh were the parents of this
soon to be phenomenon, and focused their occupations around religion. Theodrus, Cor, Elizabeth,
Anna, and Willemina were van Gogh s siblings. The van Gogh unity held the common name Vincent
throughout generations of their family. Other than his grandfather and great uncle, one year before van
Gogh s birth, a stillborn with his name was born, making him the replacement child. Art and religion

A deteriorating relationship existed between Vincent and the Goupil company, resulting him to soon
giving up on the career of art dealing. Though unsure of where he wished to pursue himself, van Gogh
began teaching gospel to schools for boys, and letters of evidence provide the fact that he enjoyed this
occupation. Time back in London in 1876 made it a year of religious exploration for him. Aside from
his time at work, he kept museums and galleries of art as open options. Travelling deeper into the
subject of religion, Vincent moved into a clergyman position, and began to speak at prayer meetings,
all of which added up for experience towards teaching a Sunday sermon. After earning about a year s
worth of education in Theology, and a visit home to the Netherlands, he turned back to religion and
began preaching in poor regions of Borinage, Belgium. There he preached to unfortunate coal miners
and their family in Wasmes, in 1879. Vincent wanted to ease their lives, and do what he could to better
their fate. He quickly became fond of the group, to the point where he gave away most of his
belongings to those he cared for. The Church classified his actions as asceticism, and dismissed the
caring soul. He remained in Borinage, living in profound poverty, aiming to live day by day. He began
to draw what he had witnessed, the miners conditions, and

Evacuation In Montecito Summary
In the article Rescue crews scramble to find missing in California mudslides as 10K evacuated in
Montecito the authors, Matt Gutman and Bill Hutchinson, explain the events that happened on
Thursday when Montecito experienced torrential rain and mudslides. They continue by describing the
effects that it has had on those living there as well as local businesses that have been affected.
Between all of the writings they have posted pictures allowing those who read it the opportunity to see
the extent of the damage themselves and see the rescue teams hard at work. The rescue teams, as they
mentioned, have been using rescue dogs to help them sniff out any human remains that could be
buried underneath the mud and those who have survived within buildings or trapped between rocks.
The message was clear and gave all of the information necessary to fully understand the situation
along with how long those affected will be evacuated for and how long it might take for electricity,
water, and sanitation to come back. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the authors wrote, Montecito was placed under a new evacuation order at 6 p.m. local
time Thursday. Almost the entire community about 10,000 people is now under mandatory evacuation
orders, which could last one to two weeks, according to the Santa Barbara County fire chief. (Matt
Gutman Bill Hutchinson) In that quote they give valuable information that gives people a better idea
of what to expect in the coming weeks as well as how big the problem truly is without straight up
saying that it is a big problem. Coming from that it is easy to see that they wanted to give as much
information as possible to those who want it or need

Quito Tectonics
Ecuador s large number of earthquakes is due to their location relative to other countries. In general,
the grinding of tectonic plates happens constantly (one beneath the other) and sometimes they get
stuck but keep moving. This causes the buildup of tension. When the plates finally break free, it
results in an earthquake.
One example is the location of Ecuador s capital, Quito. Quito lies on a fault line. When these fault
lines are displaced it is similar to a domino effect and can create breaks in other parts of the tectonic
plates. Tectonic plates are gigantic, irregular in size and shape, chunks of rock that lie beneath earth s
surface. The movement of these plates and the buildup over time results in the earthquakes we hear
about. Also,

Phillis Wheatley Research Papers
Phillis Wheatley was the the first African American writer to have her books published in the United
States. Poems on Various Subjects, Religious and Moral written by Wheatley was viewed as a model
for the importance of education with religious aspects, as it was often seen throughout her poetry.
Formulated mainly of neoclassical elegiac poetry, Poems on Various Subjects triggered several
discussions concerning the length to which Wheatley can be deemed a minor poet or whether she
wrote to express politics and moral trouble. Born in West Africa, Phillis Wheatley was bought at a
slave auction in 1791 by the wife of a Boston trader. During that time it was routine to rename the
slave to the family s last name which is how Phillis became a Wheatley. She ... Show more content on

Soon after the publishing of the elegy, she earned global attention and was reprinted throughout
England and the new world colonies. A few years later, Wheatley journeyed to England with one of
the Wheatley boys and was viewed as royalty, mostly by the anti slavery groups and other activists.
One anti slavery activist in particular, Selina Hastings, defended the publication in France of her
collections Poems on Various Subjects. King George III was a part of Wheatley s audience but
Wheatley could not attend the meeting because she needed to take care of Mrs. Wheatley who was
deathly ill. After the passing of her owner, Phillis Wheatley became a freed slave. She lost all contact
with friends and family of the Wheatley s after being freed and her attempts at having another book of
poetry published failed. Wheatley married another freed slave soon after her own freedom and went
on the have multiple children with her husband. John Peters, her husband, later was jailed for debt and
two of their children passed away from sickness. Phillis Wheatley was a maid at a boarding house

for participating in the ExtraCare program? Due to people s fears of identity theft and being inundated
with junk mail and telemarketers when divulging personal information, I feel that by not requiring
personal information to participate in the ExtraCare program CVS has most likely attained a much
larger number of participants than they would have if they required personal information to
participate. A major disadvantage of this strategy is that by not obtaining personal information about
their customers they are forfeiting their ability to send coupons and ad information about special
discounts that may be of interest to their existing customers that could potentially encourage them to
purchase items. They are also giving up the ability to track customer purchases to create a costumer

Virtual Child Pornography Case Study
Case 1 Virtual child pornography
Parties are The Federal Child Pornography Prevention Act, the people in the porn video, and the
people recording it. The moral issue is people that are playing in porn videos posing as a child but is
really an older person that looks young, also the people who think this is okay to watch. Virtual child
pornography is a term given to video depictions of child/child or child/adult sexual activity in which
the participants are not actual children but realistic computer generated images of children. This was
the reason that The Federal Child Pornography Prevention Act banned this kind of porn because this is
not right to show children bodies off to people for pleasure.
As I did some research I see this, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I as well came across this as I researched about child porn, the CPPA defined child pornography as:
Any visual depiction, including any photography, film, video, picture or computer generated image or
picture of sexually explicit conduct, where the production of such visual depiction is, or, appears to be,
of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct; such visual depiction has been created, adapted, or
modified to appear that an identifiable minor is engaging in sexually explicit conduct; or such visual
depiction is advertised, promoted, presented, described, or distributed in such a manner that conveys
the impression that the material is or contains a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually
explicit conduct. This to me is sickening and for a person to be able to go online and click in the
search box and google or search in what even search engine they may use and type child porn and can
bare themselves to sit there and watch this is a very heartless person.
The question remains whether the government may criminalize the production and possession of
virtual child pornography if no child is used in the production of pornography and the images are
completely fictional. My all around output on the child porn is that I think it is so disgusting and it is
observed and no one

The Impact Of Internet On Consumer Ownership Via Spotify...
Spotify has a number of benefits for the consumer. As a commercial music streaming platform that
enables access greater access to a wider range of artists, their songs and albums for use through
different interfaces; including laptops and mobile phones. Spotify provides almost limitless streaming
of different music that is available in two different ways; Spotify Free and Spotify Premium . At first
glance, at least for the user it is somewhat utopian, in that it has increased the efficiency and
accessibility of listening to music for those with an internet connection. This platform records your
listening database and makes recommendations based on your particular tastes, with no financial risk,
because on is not actually purchasing the music, it is possible to listen to new music without the fear
of losing money. This notion of free streaming has arguably cut down the number of illegal
downloads. Despite this increased accessibility to music, the idea of consumer ownership via Spotify
is only an illusion. There is a sense of ritual tied to tangible music technologies; object fetishism is
satisfied through physical object being collected (,292).
Spotify, along with other streaming sites have generated debate around current copyright laws. Spotify
launched in 2008, is a relatively new technology that the legal world is yet to catch up with, the last
update was the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, established ten years prior (guardian.com, 1).In his

lesson was on the the Declaration of Independence. The start of the lesson included the objective of
the lesson, which was for students to identify the key points of the Declaration of Independence. The
teacher greeted the class and turned their attention to the board. The board included a quote about
independence. The teacher asked the students to read the quote and answer the following questions,

Animal Slaughterhouses Should Be Illegal
Animal slaughterhouses should be illegal
Each year, 56 billion farmed animals are killed by humans worldwide for food. 3,000 of these deaths
happen every second and come from the animal slaughterhouses. They are legal in countries all over
the world despite the brutal killing that goes on inside of them. If slaughterhouses had glass doors,
would we consider changing the laws around how they are used? Assuming that it is essential for
animals to be killed, they deserve to die painlessly in their natural habitat.
Confining and killing an animal in an environment which is not their natural habitat is wrong. We are
the only ones that have the choice to decide whether we hold animals captive in a building to slaughter
them or kill them while living in their natural habitat. To hold an animal captive is unfair. It makes
them frustrated and scared since it is only lengthening the time that it is taking for them to be
slaughtered to their deaths. If we were to ban these inhumane slaughter houses, it would make a
massive difference as to how quick and more peaceful the deaths of animals would be considering the
disturbing methods animals are currently undertaking in slaughterhouses. ... Show more content on

Some of the ways in which animals are slaughtered include being stunned electrically or gassed before
being killed. Captive bolt stunning is the most common way to slaughter a larger animal such as a
cow. This involves having a pistol placed against their head then shooting a metal rod into their brains.
But more often than not, it misses the target. Throat cutting and using chest sticks are alternative ways
to kill an animal before being sent off to make meat and are both used to make them bleed to death. If
humans were to do anything similar like this to each other we would be locked up for manslaughter

The first major battle was Juno and it was landed on by Canadians. The objectives of the 3rd Division
on D Day were to cut the Caen Bayeux road, seize the Car piquet airport west of Caen, and form a link
between the two British beaches of Gold and Sword on either side of Juno Beach. The landings
initially encountered heavy resistance from the German 716th Infantry Division; the preliminary
bombardment proved less effective than had been hoped and rough weather forced the first wave to be
delayed until 07:35. The beach was defended by two battalions of the German 716th Infantry
Division, with elements of the 21st Panzer Division in reserve near Caen. The Canadians took heavy
casualties in the opening minutes of the first wave. Strength of numbers, as well as coordinated fire
support from artillery and armored squadrons, cleared most of the coastal defenses within two hours
of landing. The subsequent push inland towards Car piquet and the Caen Bayeux railway line
achieved mixed results. The sheer numbers of men and vehicles on the beaches created lengthy delays
between the landing of the 9th Brigade and the beginning of substantive attacks to the south. The 7th
Brigade encountered heavy initial opposition before pushing south and making contact with the 50th
Infantry Division at Creully. The Queen s Own Rifles of Canada had reached its D Day objective, and

Success For A Business Analyst
Success for a Business Analyst is not that easy to understand. This is because, when a project goes
well, he takes a back seat. But, when there is even the smallest of problems, he is the one in the firing
line. The role of the business analyst is to bring clarity to the project outcomes and getting the
business to own the solutions. The success of a Business Analyst can be measured by answering the
following questions:
a. Does the project deliver the anticipated value and meet the objectives of the business case? Is the
business happy with the value that is delivered?
b. Are the stakeholders aligned around the project concept?
c. Are the stakeholders convinced that the solution being developed is the best possible solution to the
problem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every person s suggestions are taken until management is satisfied that all has been done to rectify the
situation. Everything is on track and the project is coming together. Teams are coordinating with each
other and everything is going according to plan. Just then, at the last stage, it all falls apart. Nothing is
as it seems. The project has failed to accomplish what it set out to do. In this scenario, the business
analyst is left hung out to dry, he is blamed and every finger starts pointing at him.
This is exactly the kind of scenario that a business analyst fears. A business analyst must make sure
that such a situation never arises. Some reasons that cause such failures are:
a. Incomplete requirements: There are situations when, the requirement provided by the business are
not complete and contain holes. Such holes must be filled by questioning and covering all possible
scenarios. A business analyst must make sure that the requirements are clear, scope clearly defined and
all loopholes covered.
b. Lack of user requirement: There are certain scenarios when there is uncertainty in the primary and
secondary users that are involved in the implementation of a requirement. This could be due to poor
communication. A business analyst must make sure that he identifies the correct stakeholders and
engages with them by asking the correct questions.
c. Unrealistic expectations: Not every requirement can be met by the implementation team in terms of

Hotel Rwanda vs. Erin Brockovich

problems. The conflicts that are portrayed are different in the means of operation but both share a
similar end with the endangerment of thousands of people. We will examine how these deviant
decisions affect both their societies and the reasons behind these atrocious acts. Hotel Rwanda is a

As Hirschi has been quoted concluding that a child s relationship with his or her parent is the most
important factor in determining involvement in delinquent activities. Those who had weak bonds with
their parents were most likely to commit delinquent acts (Tepperman 2010). Hirschi s theory sheds
light on the fact that children still at crucial developmental stages of their lives are very easily
influenced by their parents and the amount of involvement one s parents has in their own lives. In this
film many of the children witnessed their own fathers participating in these barbaric acts and were
encouraged to stand up and fight for their family. A problematic social upbringing where children are
forced to interact with parents taking on violent roles has a huge impact on their own behaviors. In this
story the children gain a sense of attachment and shared identity, which is facilitated by violent family
values and rituals, such as, murder and violence. This is known as Authoritarian parenting where the
parents have a high level of control but are not very caring (forcing them to fight in a war, not
worrying if they get killed). The children seemingly become brainwashed by these notions and accept
it as their responsibility or as fate . Psychologist Jean Piaget showed in his research the self is a social
product... because the self is a social product, it changes

earth, one couple raced to the hospital in need of medical attention. Their hearts were pounding,
adrenalin coursing within their veins, and butterflies filling their stomachs among other things. They
were nervous and slightly scared for what might happen once they arrive. They had finally made it to
the parking lot of the hospital; they suddenly find themselves gathering their essential belongings, so

Among many laws and acts that were signed and pushed through during his presidency one that
Clinton moved to pass was Megan s Law. This law was created following the saddening incident
involving the rape and murder of a seven year old girl, Megan Kanka. Megan and her family had been
unknowingly living right across the street from Jesse Timmendequas, a formerly convicted sex
offender. One day Jesse lured Megan to into his home with the false promise of letting her see his new
puppy and then attacked the child. This terrible event set in motion this law that would require each
state to register and track any formally convicted sexual predators into a system. The state would be
responsible for making the community aware of any offenders moving into the area. The law also
stated that any second time offender would be sentenced to life in prison with no opportunity for
parole. This law put in place helpful tools to keep vulnerable and innocent children out of harm s way.
It was a part of history in the effort to prevent more sexual assaults on children, teens and even adults.
In a way this law was passed with me in mind. So that as I got older and began playing in the yard, or
riding my bike out front we d as least know of any dangerous individuals that very well could be our

As of 2002 Killer bees have invaded all the areas stated in the
previous paragraph such as Brazil south to northern
Argentina and north to Central America, Trinidad (West Indies), Mexico,
Texas, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, and southern California.
Killer bees got to these invaded locations because in an effort to increase
honey production 26 swarms of killer bees escaped quarantine since then the
species had spread throughout South America and arrived in north America in 1985.
We have been trying to stop these bees, there are people trying to track them
down and trying to eliminate this species off the planet, we are doing this
because killer bees will kill humans and animals if they intrude their
territory or there area that there home/hive is in. for example the state
senate of texas was on a request for $197,000 to help track down and kill all the Killer Bees.
This species has spread through all these different locations because of them
taking over bee colonies and other areas by fighting of and killing the
animals in such locations. Not just that but they also have been

The Causes Of The Khmer Rouge
The Khmer Rouge carried out one of the most horrific genocides in the twentieth century. The nation
of Cambodia was in a near decade civil war between the Communist (Khmer Rouge) and the
monarchy and then the Khmer Republic. The Khmer Rouge won the civil war and controlled all of
Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. During this time, they committed horrific crimes against their own
people. This genocidal regime was one of the worst events in the later years of the 1900s, and it is not
well talked about in schools. The Khmer Rouge movement started back in the 1940s when Cambodia
was fighting for freedom from the French government. Over the years, the Northern Vietnamese
influenced much of the group s practices and beliefs. They gained so much members during the Lon
Nol era because many Cambodian people lost family from the American bombings (whom Lon Nol
was allied with). Through fear and threats, the Khmer Rouge scared the people into moving into the
countryside. They abolished all things that have to do with capitalism. They brainwashed people into
starving the population, torturing the accused , and murdering any who oppose the Khmer Rouge way
of life and leadership. This led to widespread poverty of Cambodia, and the people learned to love and
respect everyone because of the hate shown to them during this horrific event. Many, til this day, still
do not share their stories of what happened during this time because they are scared to be reminded of
what was committed against them. That is why the country is still corrupt today because the two
decade old prime minister Hun Sen was an ex Khmer Rouge Soldier. The Khmer Rouge group was
created in the 1940s, but it was during the Vietnam War that the KR gained more power and became
more prominent. The Khmer Rouge is an off shot from the North Vietnamese government and
essentially was funded by their government. The Vietnamese helped to make the KR a real political
party in the Cambodian political system. Without their help, they could not afford to provide a whole
army guns, military vehicles, and other military resources. It was in 68 when the group launched a full
scale national uprising. They wanted to make a unrealistic fair society where there was no

Similarities Between John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
The wind whistles past George s hat as he walks up the dirt path side by side with Slim, his new found

relieved of any ill thoughts or wrong doings but he was dead. Lennie was dead as a doornail and
George was the one who hammered him into this peaceful silence. There was so much sadness filled
within George he couldn t realize the freedom that he would now have without Lennie to look after, all
George was able to think of was how alone in this world he would be now. His dreams had all

down upon George s shoulders, Slim s face seemed to sink as deep as George s heart. Slim s eyes were
glossed over, how had it come to this? How had things gotten so bad? Slim knew by the way George

Could London Follow New York And Lose Its Creative Class
Could London follow New York and lose its creative class?
Rohan Silva, a former senior policy advisor to UK prime minister David Cameron, has warned
Londoners that the flow of creative people from New York to Los Angeles could be sign of things to
come for the big smoke. He believes that the recent trend of creatives leaving New York due to
exorbitant living costs and a lack of suitable studio space could also happen in London, and sooner
rather than later!
Rohan Silver has warned that the flow of creative people from New York to Los Angeles could be sign
of things to come for London
Silva worked for the Conservative government for nine years before establishing London s Tech City
cluster of digital businesses, introducing tax breaks for angel investors and creating the concept of
entrepreneur visas. He left Downing Street in 2013 to co found the creative workspace Second Home,
which opened its first building in London last year, which Silva described as a New type of workspace

reinvent the office to reflect contemporary working habits, allowing tenants to stay after work and
mingle with one another.
Second Home is now planning to open a new outpost in the US, and has chosen LA over New York

Two Great Short Stories Read by Many are A Rose for Emily...
Two of the greatest short stories written back in late 19th and early 20th centuries are still read by
many people. The two stories are A Rose for Emily written by William Faulkner and Guy De
Maupassant s The Necklace . Faulkner s book is about a woman named Emily Grierson s life and her
horrible secret she hides. The other book is about a materialistic woman named Mathilde Loisel loses
a fake necklace and find out to be a fake one after ten years later. Although these stories are written
about fifty years apart and written from two different countries, these two stories have many
similarities and differences. A Rose for Emily and The Necklace are juxtaposed with the main
characters, usage of symbolism on the title, and the tone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also these items can reflect the strong symbolism in it. Faulkner used a rose, but De Maupassant used
the necklace to represent the main character s emotions in two items. The difference in those symbols
is that a rose has only appeared on the title but the necklace is the whole flow of the story. Faulkner
leaves the reader to interpret the rose s symbolic meaning. The rose is usually a powerful symbol of
love, it always has been, and portrays an everlasting beauty. Moreover, the rose has been used for
centuries to illustrate an eternal type of love and faithfulness. Therefore, readers can infer the meaning
that the rose present in the title, and portray it to Emily that she does not have love in her life. The
necklace, however it is the important items that lead to the climax of the story. It is pretty but
worthless, shows the awareness of appearance and real world. Also, the fake necklace shows Mathilde
s desire to be something she is not. The last comparison about these two narratives about tone. The
tone of two narratives is very ironic. There are many ironies to be found in A Rose for Emily. One of
the examples, when she is speaking with the Aldermen. They are trying to convince Emily to pay her
taxes and she simply repeated a person s name who has been dead for ten years. The other story The
Necklace also have many ironical quotes. Mathilde Loisel really wants to be in the upper class society,

Pluralism And The Problem Of Religious Diversity
There exists a vast number of religions in the world that have their own belief systems and populations
of followers that, naturally, gives result to a wide variety of religious diversity. Logically, the problem
with this religious diversity is that it is hard to see how they could all be true at any rate. In response to
this problem, two solutions have been proposed: pluralism and exclusivism. Pluralism makes a claim
that all of the religions are true in their own way where exclusivism, on the other hand, makes the
claim that only one religion is true in its beliefs. I will be discussing the differences between
exclusivism and pluralism in depth as responses to the problem of religious diversity as well as
comparing and contrasting Christianity and Hinduism to make a case for why exclusivism is the
correct solution.
The first solution to the problem, pluralism, which is advocated by John Hick, offers that,
fundamentally, deep down, all of the religions are the same and so are all true in their own way. Hick,
in his work titled Who or What is God?, believes that the concept of God can be described as
anthropomorphic. That is, as Hick puts it, God is a being like ourselves in the fundamental respect that
we are both God and ourselves persons. But whereas we are finite, created, dependent persons, God is
an infinite, eternal, uncreated and omnipotent Person. (Hick). He paints a picture of who God is by
saying that God s inner nature is beyond the range of our human

The Relationship Between Meditation and Mental and...
Rooting back to its ancient times, meditation has been around for thousands of years, especially in the
Eastern part of the world and has spread to the Western countries in early 1970s.
Contrary to what I initially believe meditation is, prior to taking this course, which is the mental
concentration on something, meditation is actually a thoughtless awareness of an individual s
surroundings. Dhyana, the generic Sanskrit term for meditation is so much more than being alone with
one s thoughts, it is about the state of mind being calm but alert.
Sogyal Rinpoche in The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying said that it is through meditation that you
are able to go on a journey to discover yourself, paving the way to enlightenment.1 ... Show more

According to studies by Chiesa and Seretti, 2009 and Hassed, 1996, meditation also relieves stress and
seems to be an effective way to increase overall general well being as it reduces the production of
stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline.5,6
Bloomberg also reported a study by John Denninger, a psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School
showing that meditation also wards of diseases.7
Meditation boosts the immune system, making people who practice it less susceptible to falling sick.
Where when will I meditate?
Ideally, the rooftop, by the private pool or the balcony would also be good locations to carry out the
meditation, as it is secluded, quiet and tranquil so that I can truly be with myself. I should also draw
up a schedule to allocate time to meditate in a comfortable, quiet and safe environment such as my
apartment to truly enjoy the meditation. I should also always make it a point to not rush through my
meditation as it lowers the effectiveness of it. If I were to be busy, I would not force myself to
meditate because it would not be sincere.
I will meditate early in the morning, as it is the quietest time of

A Study Of Computer System
Nowadays, computer is able to help in a wide range. Such as Economics, Physics, etc. Since 1987, a
study of computer system to support clinical decision making has been proposed by Edward H.
Shortliffe[5], with the rapid development of computer science, this approach is applied more and more
often and not only in clinical situation. As a tool, computer system could be used to collect data, make
statistics and calculation with no problem. According to Sprague study, Decision Support System has
been defined[6], Decision Support system aims to gathering and store the knowledge based data, in

C. Limitation of Traditional Decision Making Steps
Computer System has the ability to help Decision Making. However, Belton stated that Decision
Making Software could be able to support decision making, but software cannot replace decision
making since it does not have the driving force[7]. This is also the limitation of computer system due
to the nature of binary system. Software engineer is required to apply strict logic when they
programming.
Fuzzy Logic becomes popular in programming in order to help computer system to solve more
complexity problem for accurate result. Fuzzy Logic has been applied on Decision Making Software
already, but it has limitations such as decision maker can only gathering small amount of information
at one time[8].
Decision Making Software provides alternatives after users input the relevant information, but it
assumes that people already have the clear aim. However, people also face problems with single goals
and multiple goals[9], complicate think troubles users from the start of the traditional steps. In the

Please answer below two questions, using an essay format.
Question 1 Using HIV/AIDS as an example to discuss why public health authorities need to conduct
public health surveillance and to describe how surveillance system is managed in Australia (9 marks)
(Up to 800 words)
Public health surveillance is defined as the ongoing systematic collection, collation, analysis and
interpretation of outcome specific data for public health purposes, closely integrated with the timely
dissemination of public health information for assessment and public health response for preventing
and controlling disease as necessary (Thacker Stroup; Thacker et al.1994; World Health Assembly,
2005). The surveillance method used for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infections in Australia is similar to these methods used for other
diseases, aiming at reducing high risk behaviors, lowering the incidence of transmission and infection.
Firstly, the surveillance system for HIV/AIDS draws a unique epidemiological picture of magnitude
and trends in the prevalence of infection, resource allocation, targeted groups and risk behavior over
time. It describes the pattern of transmission of HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and other specific sexually
transmissible infections. Secondly, It monitors an information cycle for collection and exchange
between different public health institutions between clinical and laboratory facilities, infection

The Pros And Cons Of The European Debt Crisis
Introduction
After the Lisbon treaty was signed, it became noticeable that the Eurozone (which started in Greece)
was in a deep financial crisis. The EU has taken a number of different steps to deal with the financial
debt crisis throughout the Eurozone. These are the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), the
European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and the European Financial Stabilisation Mechanism (EFSM).
Throughout this essay I will concentrate on the EFSF and the EFSM and if and how the provisions of
the Unions treaty were violated by these. I will evaluate different case law throughout recent years to
show us the illegality of these, which often violated the treaties of the European Union while also
talking a little bit about the ESM, ECB and the IMF. I will also talk about the Greek Bailout and the
bail out clause with a small reference to the Pringle case.
The legal basis of these is all completely different and each has a different system. Most countries
within the Eurozone end up resorting to international and private law techniques. Before getting into

emergency mechanisms, are Ireland, Greece and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Social Gospel Moverment
The Social Gospel The Social Gospel is the idea of social problems being looked and fixed with a
Christian point of view. The Gospel will always stay the same and we should refer the Social Gospel
as living out the Gospel. The goal of the Social Gospel Movement was to tie salvation and good work
together. They thought people should live the life of a Jesus Christ. Classes, counseling, job training
and libraries were provided by churches to act according to the Social Gospel. The origins and issues
of the Social Gospel Movement, how the Social Gospel related to a Progressive Era, the work of
Walter Rauschenbusch, and how Social Gospel relates to the Gospel will be covered in this essay. The
Social Gospel started in the early twentieth century as an intellectual movement. The purpose was to
live out The Lord s Prayer during our day to day lives. Social Gospel applied Christian ethics to social
problems like the issues of social justice. A group of liberal Protestant progressives started the
movement because they weren t satisfied with social problems around them and they did not feel
enough was being done to solve the problems. Social problems associated with rapid industrialization,
urbanization, and increasing immigration of the Gilded Age were the primary concern. The concept of
a society that respects elements of justice is called social justice. Social justice is usually applied to the

The Religions Of Islam, Hinduism, And Buddhism
Religion and politics are quite interwoven into society both in the developed world as well as in the
developing world. This paper will discuss the major religions of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and
Buddhism and how these faiths connect to politics of nations.
Islam has always been a very mixed within state and society as a whole, with no true line between
church and state. Islam began in the Arabia by the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century, and is
the second largest religion in the world today. Muslims are the followers of the Islam and believe in
only on God, or Allah. Muslims base their beliefs on their holy book the Koran and the Sunnah. The
Sunnah provides the five basic Pillars of Islam. These are: declaration of faith, praying five times a
day, giving money to charity, fasting, and a pilgrimage to Mecca at least one time.
Since there is really no true division of church and state, Islam teaches religion, but also how to run a
state, government, conduct business, etc. An Islamic state is based on five principles as follows. 1.
Sovereignty of power. Muslims believe that Allah is the all powerful who knows what is good and bad
for society. They use the laws in the Koran to base concerning life and believe that laws must be put to
practice by an Islamic state for the greater good of human beings. (

Essay on Unifying the Church
Introduction Miriam Webster s dictionary defines unity as the state of being in full agreement. When
one reads the Bible it is clear that God s will is for the church to be unified. In I Corinthians 1:10 the
Apostle Paul instructs the church to be perfectly joined together in mind and speech and to have no
divisions among them. Today we see various denominations, or as defined in Miriam Webster s
dictionary, religious organizations united in their adherence to its beliefs and practices. This raises the
question, where is this unified church that is described in the Bible? This paper will address the
Protestant doctrine of the invisible church. The invisible church are the people who are not only
outwardly religious but have also made a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper will also discuss how the invisible is indeed visible. The church is the temple of the Holy
Spirit and His power is made evident through the church. The church is God s means of instructing,
edifying, and unifying His people here on earth and is used to make the rest of the world believe and
in turn become members of the church. Each believer has a function in the body and is to depend on
each other in relation to their function assigned to them or given to them as a gift from the Holy Spirit.
As indicated in Colossians 1:18, Christ is the head of the body and the body is the church. The
purpose of the church is identified in 1 Corinthians 12 when Paul talks about the unity in diversity of
spiritual gifts and the unity in diversity of the body. There is no such thing as an isolated, solitary
Christian life. Upon the conclusion of this paper the reader will be able to make a distinction between
the concept of visible and invisible church. Also the reader will be able to identify how they are both
related and that, when perceived spiritually, cannot be explained antithetically. The church as a whole,
whether visible or invisible, is a part of God s ultimate purpose.
The Invisible Church The idea of the invisible church was first developed in depth by Saint Augustine.
Augustine became the bishop of Hippo in AD 396 and saw the churches under his jurisdiction divided
by heresy and many church members and leaders living unregenerate lives as the covetous,

The Breakdown Of The U.s. Monetary And Money Related...
The breakdown of the U.S. monetary and money related framework quickened for the current year, in
this manner pushing the nation more into third world status. Most Americans are unconscious of the
desperate situation confronting the country, so they keep on believing the same old thing will proceed
inconclusively. Sadly, outright lies being reporting by the mainstream media alongside general society
s foreswearing and whimsical speculation is a formula for catastrophe for most Americans that will
last quite a long while. The U.S. economy is being supported by huge amount of money related
printing, Federal stock and bond buys and compelling influence in every aspect of the market. While
these strategies have given the illusion of success, or, best case scenario a manageable moderate
developing economy, the debt now in the framework is unsustainable. Still today, most financial
specialists (counting valuable metals speculators) don t comprehend the genuine purpose behind the
gigantic increment in U.S. Government debt. They trust the obligation was either expanded to
subjugate Americans or to finance continued financial growth. While the second reason is more exact,
despite everything they neglect to comprehend the underlying driver of the the increasing debt. Falling
U.S. Oil Production and Increasing Oil Prices The yearly increment in U.S. obligation was little up
until the 1970 s. This was because of the top of low priced U.S. household oil production. U.S.

  • 3. Symbolism And Symbolism In Kate Chopin s The Awakening A key aspect in writing an interesting story is having symbolism. It allows the reader to dive just a little bit deeper into the meaning and core of the work. Birds are a fairly common symbol, serving as representations of freedom, breaking free, and not afraid to be loud or to speak their minds. In Kate Chopin s novella, The Awakening, birds are used to show Edna s true feelings and desires, to explain the courage required to defy the standards, and to show Edna s final defeat. Many animals, especially birds, seem to communicate in a language that only they can really understand. The novella starts by setting a scene with the description of two birds who do exactly that. Chopin begins by stating, A green and yellow parrot, which hung in a cage outside the door, kept repeating over and over: Allez vous en! Allez vous en! Sapristi! That s all right! He could speak a little Spanish, and also a language which nobody understood, unless it was the mocking bird that hung on the other side of the door, whistling his fluty notes out upon the breeze with maddening persistence (Chopin 1). The green and yellow parrot represents Edna Pontellier. She feels as if she is stuck in a golden cage with only one other being who understands her. She has always had food on her plate and her husband provides a stable income and life for her. The mocking bird represents Mademoiselle Reisz, because she is the only other being who understands what Edna, or the parrot, is feeling and wanting to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Anna Cornelia Carbentus and Theodrus van Gogh were the parents of this soon to be phenomenon, and focused their occupations around religion. Theodrus, Cor, Elizabeth, Anna, and Willemina were van Gogh s siblings. The van Gogh unity held the common name Vincent throughout generations of their family. A deteriorating relationship existed between Vincent and the Goupil company, resulting him to soon giving up on the career of art dealing. Though unsure of where he wished to pursue himself, van Gogh began teaching gospel to schools for boys, and letters of evidence provide the fact that he enjoyed this occupation. Time back in London in 1876 made it a year of religious exploration for him. Aside from his time at work, he kept museums and galleries of art as open options. Travelling deeper into the subject of religion, Vincent moved into a clergyman position, and began to speak at prayer meetings, all of which added up for experience towards teaching a Sunday sermon. After earning about a year s worth of education in Theology, and a visit home to the Netherlands, he turned back to religion and began preaching in poor regions of Borinage, Belgium. There he preached to unfortunate coal miners and their family in Wasmes, in 1879. Vincent wanted to ease their lives, and do what he could to better their fate. He quickly became fond of the group, to the point where he gave away most of his belongings to those he cared for. The Church classified his actions as asceticism, and dismissed the caring soul. He remained in Borinage, living in profound poverty, aiming to live day by day. He began to draw what he had witnessed, the miners conditions, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They continue by describing the effects that it has had on those living there as well as local businesses that have been affected. Between all of the writings they have posted pictures allowing those who read it the opportunity to see the extent of the damage themselves and see the rescue teams hard at work. In general, the grinding of tectonic plates happens constantly (one beneath the other) and sometimes they get stuck but keep moving. This causes the buildup of tension. When the plates finally break free, it results in an earthquake. One example is the location of Ecuador s capital, Quito. Quito lies on a fault line. When these fault lines are displaced it is similar to a domino effect and can create breaks in other parts of the tectonic plates. Tectonic plates are gigantic, irregular in size and shape, chunks of rock that lie beneath earth s surface. The movement of these plates and the buildup over time results in the earthquakes we hear about. Also, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The moral issue is people that are playing in porn videos posing as a child but is really an older person that looks young, also the people who think this is okay to watch. Virtual child pornography is a term given to video depictions of child/child or child/adult sexual activity in which the participants are not actual children but realistic computer generated images of children. This to me is sickening and for a person to be able to go online and click in the search box and google or search in what even search engine they may use and type child porn and can bare themselves to sit there and watch this is a very heartless person. As a commercial music streaming platform that enables access greater access to a wider range of artists, their songs and albums for use through different interfaces; including laptops and mobile phones. Spotify provides almost limitless streaming of different music that is available in two different ways; Spotify Free and Spotify Premium . At first glance, at least for the user it is somewhat utopian, in that it has increased the efficiency and accessibility of listening to music for those with an internet connection. This platform records your listening database and makes recommendations based on your particular tastes, with no financial risk, because on is not actually purchasing the music, it is possible to listen to new music without the fear of losing money. This notion of free streaming has arguably cut down the number of illegal downloads. Despite this increased accessibility to music, the idea of consumer ownership via Spotify is only an illusion. There is a sense of ritual tied to tangible music technologies; object fetishism is satisfied through physical object being collected (,292). Spotify, along with other streaming sites have generated debate around current copyright laws. If slaughterhouses had glass doors, would we consider changing the laws around how they are used? Assuming that it is essential for animals to be killed, they deserve to die painlessly in their natural habitat. Confining and killing an animal in an environment which is not their natural habitat is wrong. We are the only ones that have the choice to decide whether we hold animals captive in a building to slaughter them or kill them while living in their natural habitat. The nation of Cambodia was in a near decade civil war between the Communist (Khmer Rouge) and the monarchy and then the Khmer Republic. The Khmer Rouge won the civil war and controlled all of Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. During this time, they committed horrific crimes against their own people. This genocidal regime was one of the worst events in the later years of the 1900s, and it is not well talked about in schools. The Khmer Rouge movement started back in the 1940s when Cambodia was fighting for freedom from the French government. Over the years, the Northern Vietnamese influenced much of the group s practices and beliefs. They gained so much members during the Lon Nol era because many Cambodian people lost family from the American bombings (whom Lon Nol was allied with). Through fear and threats, the Khmer Rouge scared the people into moving into the countryside. They abolished all things that have to do with capitalism. They brainwashed people into starving the population, torturing the accused , and murdering any who oppose the Khmer Rouge way of life and leadership. This led to widespread poverty of Cambodia, and the people learned to love and respect everyone because of the hate shown to them during this horrific event. Many, til this day, still do not share their stories of what happened during this time because they are scared to be reminded of what was committed against them. That is why the country is still corrupt today because the two decade old prime minister Hun Sen was an ex Khmer Rouge Soldier. The rose is usually a powerful symbol of love, it always has been, and portrays an everlasting beauty. Moreover, the rose has been used for centuries to illustrate an eternal type of love and faithfulness. Therefore, readers can infer the meaning that the rose present in the title, and portray it to Emily that she does not have love in her life. The necklace, however it is the important items that lead to the climax of the story. It is pretty but worthless, shows the awareness of appearance and real world. • 29. Pluralism And The Problem Of Religious Diversity There exists a vast number of religions in the world that have their own belief systems and populations of followers that, naturally, gives result to a wide variety of religious diversity. Logically, the problem with this religious diversity is that it is hard to see how they could all be true at any rate. In response to this problem, two solutions have been proposed: pluralism and exclusivism. Pluralism makes a claim that all of the religions are true in their own way where exclusivism, on the other hand, makes the claim that only one religion is true in its beliefs. I will be discussing the differences between exclusivism and pluralism in depth as responses to the problem of religious diversity as well as comparing and contrasting Christianity and Hinduism to make a case for why exclusivism is the correct solution. The first solution to the problem, pluralism, which is advocated by John Hick, offers that, fundamentally, deep down, all of the religions are the same and so are all true in their own way. Hick, in his work titled Who or What is God?, believes that the concept of God can be described as anthropomorphic. That is, as Hick puts it, God is a being like ourselves in the fundamental respect that we are both God and ourselves persons. But whereas we are finite, created, dependent persons, God is an infinite, eternal, uncreated and omnipotent Person. (Hick). He paints a picture of who God is by saying that God s inner nature is beyond the range of our human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Relationship Between Meditation and Mental and... Rooting back to its ancient times, meditation has been around for thousands of years, especially in the Eastern part of the world and has spread to the Western countries in early 1970s. Contrary to what I initially believe meditation is, prior to taking this course, which is the mental concentration on something, meditation is actually a thoughtless awareness of an individual s surroundings. Dhyana, the generic Sanskrit term for meditation is so much more than being alone with one s thoughts, it is about the state of mind being calm but alert. Sogyal Rinpoche in The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying said that it is through meditation that you are able to go on a journey to discover yourself, paving the way to enlightenment.1 ... According to studies by Chiesa and Seretti, 2009 and Hassed, 1996, meditation also relieves stress and seems to be an effective way to increase overall general well being as it reduces the production of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline.5,6 Bloomberg also reported a study by John Denninger, a psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School showing that meditation also wards of diseases.7 Meditation boosts the immune system, making people who practice it less susceptible to falling sick. Where when will I meditate? Ideally, the rooftop, by the private pool or the balcony would also be good locations to carry out the meditation, as it is secluded, quiet and tranquil so that I can truly be with myself. I should also draw up a schedule to allocate time to meditate in a comfortable, quiet and safe environment such as my apartment to truly enjoy the meditation. I should also always make it a point to not rush through my meditation as it lowers the effectiveness of it. If I were to be busy, I would not force myself to meditate because it would not be sincere. I will meditate early in the morning, as it is the quietest time of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The EU has taken a number of different steps to deal with the financial debt crisis throughout the Eurozone. These are the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) and the European Financial Stabilisation Mechanism (EFSM). Throughout this essay I will concentrate on the EFSF and the EFSM and if and how the provisions of the Unions treaty were violated by these. I will evaluate different case law throughout recent years to show us the illegality of these, which often violated the treaties of the European Union while also talking a little bit about the ESM, ECB and the IMF. I will also talk about the Greek Bailout and the bail out clause with a small reference to the Pringle case. The legal basis of these is all completely different and each has a different system. Most countries within the Eurozone end up resorting to international and private law techniques. • 37. The Social Gospel Moverment The Social Gospel The Social Gospel is the idea of social problems being looked and fixed with a Christian point of view. The Gospel will always stay the same and we should refer the Social Gospel as living out the Gospel. The goal of the Social Gospel Movement was to tie salvation and good work together. They thought people should live the life of a Jesus Christ. Classes, counseling, job training and libraries were provided by churches to act according to the Social Gospel. The origins and issues of the Social Gospel Movement, how the Social Gospel related to a Progressive Era, the work of Walter Rauschenbusch, and how Social Gospel relates to the Gospel will be covered in this essay. The Social Gospel started in the early twentieth century as an intellectual movement. The purpose was to live out The Lord s Prayer during our day to day lives. Social Gospel applied Christian ethics to social problems like the issues of social justice. A group of liberal Protestant progressives started the movement because they weren t satisfied with social problems around them and they did not feel enough was being done to solve the problems. Social problems associated with rapid industrialization, urbanization, and increasing immigration of the Gilded Age were the primary concern. The concept of a society that respects elements of justice is called social justice. Social justice is usually applied to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper will discuss the major religions of Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism and how these faiths connect to politics of nations. Islam has always been a very mixed within state and society as a whole, with no true line between church and state. Islam began in the Arabia by the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century, and is the second largest religion in the world today. Muslims are the followers of the Islam and believe in only on God, or Allah. Muslims base their beliefs on their holy book the Koran and the Sunnah. The Sunnah provides the five basic Pillars of Islam. These are: declaration of faith, praying five times a day, giving money to charity, fasting, and a pilgrimage to Mecca at least one time. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/ataglance/glance.shtml) Since there is really no true division of church and state, Islam teaches religion, but also how to run a state, government, conduct business, etc. An Islamic state is based on five principles as follows. 1. Sovereignty of power. Muslims believe that Allah is the all powerful who knows what is good and bad for society. They use the laws in the Koran to base concerning life and believe that laws must be put to practice by an Islamic state for the greater good of human beings. • 40. Essay on Unifying the Church Introduction Miriam Webster s dictionary defines unity as the state of being in full agreement. When one reads the Bible it is clear that God s will is for the church to be unified. In I Corinthians 1:10 the Apostle Paul instructs the church to be perfectly joined together in mind and speech and to have no divisions among them. Today we see various denominations, or as defined in Miriam Webster s dictionary, religious organizations united in their adherence to its beliefs and practices. This raises the question, where is this unified church that is described in the Bible? This paper will address the Protestant doctrine of the invisible church. This paper will also discuss how the invisible is indeed visible. The church is the temple of the Holy Spirit and His power is made evident through the church. The church is God s means of instructing, edifying, and unifying His people here on earth and is used to make the rest of the world believe and in turn become members of the church. Each believer has a function in the body and is to depend on each other in relation to their function assigned to them or given to them as a gift from the Holy Spirit. As indicated in Colossians 1:18, Christ is the head of the body and the body is the church. The purpose of the church is identified in 1 Corinthians 12 when Paul talks about the unity in diversity of spiritual gifts and the unity in diversity of the body. There is no such thing as an isolated, solitary Christian life. Upon the conclusion of this paper the reader will be able to make a distinction between the concept of visible and invisible church. Also the reader will be able to identify how they are both related and that, when perceived spiritually, cannot be explained antithetically. The church as a whole, whether visible or invisible, is a part of God s ultimate purpose. The Invisible Church The idea of the invisible church was first developed in depth by Saint Augustine. Augustine became the bishop of Hippo in AD 396 and saw the churches under his jurisdiction divided by heresy and many church members and leaders living unregenerate lives as the covetous, ... The breakdown of the U.S. monetary and money related framework quickened for the current year, in this manner pushing the nation more into third world status. Most Americans are unconscious of the desperate situation confronting the country, so they keep on believing the same old thing will proceed inconclusively. Sadly, outright lies being reporting by the mainstream media alongside general society s foreswearing and whimsical speculation is a formula for catastrophe for most Americans that will last quite a long while. The U.S. economy is being supported by huge amount of money related printing, Federal stock and bond buys and compelling influence in every aspect of the market. While these strategies have given the illusion of success, or, best case scenario a manageable moderate developing economy, the debt now in the framework is unsustainable. Still today, most financial specialists (counting valuable metals speculators) don t comprehend the genuine purpose behind the gigantic increment in U.S. Government debt. They trust the obligation was either expanded to subjugate Americans or to finance continued financial growth. While the second reason is more exact, despite everything they neglect to comprehend the underlying driver of the the increasing debt.
