This research article discusses the formulation and evaluation of fast dissolving tablets of risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic, targeted at improving patient compliance, especially in those with swallowing difficulties. The study utilized a 32 factorial design to optimize the concentrations of superdisintegrants, crospovidone and croscarmellose sodium, assessing variables like wetting time and disintegration time to achieve the desired drug release profiles. Results indicated that the optimized formulation (f5) was comparable to the marketed product in terms of dissolution characteristics and followed Fickian diffusion kinetics for drug release.
