1. A forest is defined as a dense growth of trees and other plants covering a large area of land. It is also an ecosystem with many plants and animals interacting. 2. Forests are important for cultural development, maintaining temperature levels, being a source of food, absorbing carbon dioxide, controlling erosion, providing habitat for wildlife, and more. 3. In Pakistan, only 4.8% of the total land area is forested, compared to the global average of 30%. Much of Pakistan's land is arid, making it difficult for natural vegetation to thrive. Efforts are being made to increase forestation.
