Data Back-Up and Recovery Techniques for Cloud Server Using Seed Block Algorithm
In cloud computing, data generated in electronic form are large in amount. To maintain this data efficiently, there is a necessity of data recovery services. To cater this, we propose a smart remote data backup algorithm, Seed Block Algorithm. The objective of proposed algorithm is twofold; first it help the users to collect information from any remote location in the absence of network connectivity and second to recover the files in case of the file deletion or if the cloud gets destroyed due to any reason. The time related issues are also being solved by proposed seed block algorithm such that it will take minimum time for the recovery process. Proposed seed block algorithm also focuses on the security concept for the back-up files stored at remote server, without using any of the existing encryption techniques.

I, along with the team of 5 people, prepared this presentation as a part of Project Leadership and Communication class in the first semester at the University of Connecticut's School of Business' Master of Science in Business Analytics and Project Management course.
It was a great experience where we culminated the ideas from the entire team, comprising of different ethnicities and religions.
We got to learn a lot of Project Leadership concepts when we studied the work done by Alan. The most impressive thing I found about him was his humor. He was so poised in the tumultuous situation, which even I want to learn more from him, and others.

To cater this, we propose a smart remote data backup algorithm, Seed Block Algorithm. The electricity sector in India had an installed capacity of 254.049 GW as of end of September 2014. The research paper will deal with the modeling and optimization of the building energy performance by means of the application of the dynamic building simulation, the optimization of the energy systems and the verification of the energy consumptions and comfort conditions. An integrated tool is at an early stage of development to optimize the building energy performance to be expressed in terms of total energy use. The goal of the research paper is to optimize the building energy performance through the potential of the passive building technologies and the increase of efficiency of the building system.
Independent Control of Active and Reactive Powers of a DFIG Based Wind Energy...
The paper deals with a design and implementation of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind energy conversion system (WECS) connected to the power grid. A back-to-back AC/DC/AC converter is incorporated between the stator and the rotor windings of a DFIG, in order to obtain variable speed operation. The DFIG can be controlled from sub-synchronous speed to super synchronous speed operation. The main objective of the paper is to control the flow of the Active and Reactive powers produced by the DFIG based wind energy conversion system. A vector control strategy with stator flux orientation is applied to both the grid side converter and the rotor side converter for the independent control of Active and reactive powers produced by the DFIG based wind energy conversion system. The system along with its control circuit were simulated in a Matlab/simulink and the results are presented and discussed.

Performance Analysis of DRA Based OFDM Data Transmission With Respect to Nove...
In this paper, we have analyzed the performance characteristics of OFDM data transmission with regard to a new high speed RS decoding algorithm. The various characteristics identified are mainly speed and accuracy of the transmission irrespective of channel behaviour. We consider two cases viz. data transmission without error control and data transmission with error control. Each of these cases are duly analyzed and it is proven that high speed RS decoding algorithms can actually benefit OFDM data transmission for advanced communication systems only if implemented at the hardware (VLSI) level because of significant processing overhead involved in software based implementation even though the algorithm may have lower computational complexity.

Due to the proliferation of video and image data in digital form, Content based Image Retrieval has become a prominent research topic. In forensic sciences, digital data have been widely used such as criminal images, fingerprints, scene images and so on. Therefore, the arrangement of such large image data becomes a big issue such as how to get an interested image fast. There is a great need for developing an efficient technique for finding the images. In order to find an image, image has to be represented with certain features. Color, texture and shape are three important visual features of an image. Searching for images using color, texture and shape features has attracted much attention. There are many content based image retrieval techniques in the literature. This paper gives the overview of different existing methods used for content based image retrieval and also suggests an efficient image retrieval method for digital image database of criminal photos, using dynamic dominant color, texture and shape features of an image which will give an effective retrieval result.

Winter is one of the most famous poems composed by Akhavan Saless and is one of the best samples of the contemporary poetry. This poem composed in Dec. 1955 was published in Winter verse collection. The general atmosphere of the poem reflects feeling of defeat, disappointment and frustration overwhelming the Iranian community post-coup d‟état, Aug. 1919, 53, through a metaphoric and symbolic expression. In the present research paper, the romantic aspects of winter have been studied and the romanticism has been traced in this poem through employing the components and features of Winter such as naturalism, metaphorizing, disappointment and pessimism. To achieve this objective firstly, we present a definition and general perspective of Romanticism; then, we trace the grounds for reflecting romanticism in Akhavan‟s poetry so that we find the reflection of romanticism in his Winter.

In the digital era we live in, efficient representation of data generated by a discrete source and its reliable transmission are unquestionable need. In this work we have focused on source coding taking image as source. Lattice Vector Quantization (LVQ) can be used for source coding as well as for channel coding. (LVQ) with Generator Matrix (GM) and codebook is implemented. When implementation using codebook is done, two codebooks are constructed, one with 256 lattice points that are closest to (0,0,0,0) and another with 256 lattice points that are closest to (1,0,0,0). Energy for both the codes is calculated. When we compare the energy of both the codes we find that codes centered at a non lattice point is lower energy code.

The paper reports an implementation of Single System Image Server Cluster (SSISC). The Servers have been configured with same MAC and IP addresses and are connected through a two layer switch. This paper will present the large eddy simulation of turbulence modeling for wind flow over a wall mounted 3D cubical model. The LES Smagorinsky scheme is employed for the numerical simulation. The domain for this study is of the size of 60 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. The 3D cube model is taken of the size of 6 cm x 6 cm x 4 cm. The Reynolds number for the flow in respect of the height of the cube i.e, 4 cm is 5.3x104. The hexahedral grids are used for the meshing of the flow domain. The results are discussed in terms of various parameters such as velocity profile around the cube and the computational domain, the pressure distribution over the cube, near wall velocity profile and the shear stress distribution and also the result of drag coefficient is verified by neural network time series analysis using MATLAB. In this present study we have used the OpenFoam platform for the computational and numerical analysis. The numerical scheme employed is the combination of the steady state incompressible Newtonian flow model using SIMPLE algorithm followed by the transient model of incompressible Newtonian flow using PISO algorithm. We have observed that there is a constant positive drag coefficient in case of steady state simulation where as there is a negative lift coefficient in the initial run and a very low lift coefficient at the end of the steady state simulation.

- WASHINGTON/DETROIT | Thu Apr 14, 2011 11:11am EDT WASHINGTON/DETROIT (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co and U.S. safety regulators have agreed to a greatly expanded recall of the best-selling vehicle in North America, the Ford F-150 pickup truck, the regulators said on Thursday. The expanded recall is for a possible short-circuit that could cause airbags to deploy unexpectedly, and involves nearly 1.2 million F-150 pickup trucks and 16,000 Lincoln Mark LT vehicles, said the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is in addition to a previous recall of 144,000 Ford F-150 trucks, bringing the total for this issue to 1.33 million vehicles, NHTSA said.
