million+ users. This is a tool that most
parents know how to use and use on a
consistent basis.

Why struggle to make parents visit your

in a place they already visit online?”

4. Make confident connections with social media.
Session Materials - http://bit.ly/saisdemedia
Tip #1 - Use social network to build your Professional
Learning Network (PLN).
Session Materials - http://bit.ly/saisdemedia
Tip #2 - Participate in discussions online with other
educators via #EdChat on Twitter.
Session Materials - http://bit.ly/saisdemedia
Use ICEROCKET.com Twitter search to find your favorite hashtags.

Notice the RSS feed available...blend that into your Moodle or wiki.

Tip #3 - Use search engines and RSS feeds to
showcase Twitter or Facebook content on your
district Moodle or wiki.
Session Materials - http://bit.ly/saisdemedia
                                                                Hashtag search
Below is a list of my tweets. Another Hashtag search

This could be a hashtag you
                                                                                 are using with your students
                                                                                 or other professionals to share
                                                                                 content.
This is where anyone who has
ever "retweeted" content I've Tip: Be sure to check first that
shared will appear. the hashtag isn't being used
                                                                                 by someone else already!

Tip #4 - Take advantage of tools like Hootsuite.com
and Tweetdeck.com to keep personal and work
         accounts separate from each other.
Session Materials - http://bit.ly/saisdemedia
Tip #5 - If determined to use social media with your
students, check out what others are doing first and
then educate your supervisor.
