Multilayer Cropping : Ideal approach for better yield and increasing farm incomeAntaraPramanik
In India mostly farmers (about 85%)comes under small and marginal farmers. In near future, availability of land for cultivation will be reduce with increasing population and rapid urbanization, degradation of land due to soil erosion and soil salinity.
As per estimate, in India more than 95% holding will be under the category of small and marginal holders by 2050 (Agrawal R.L., 1995) .
For solution of this problem, multi storied cropping system will be a potential and efficient option to provide food, nutritional and income security to the growing population of India (Awasthi O.P. et.al., 2008) . This has possible because of the diverse agro climatic condition, enormous biodiversity, wide variation in soil fertility, large cultivable land area in the geographical boundary of India. Multi-layer Cropping is a system of growing crops together of different heights at the same time on the same piece of land. It is also referred as multi-storied cropping or multi-tier cropping. Multilayer Cropping is based on the principle of high-density planting and making the ultimate and efficient use of manure, water, land, labour and vertical space.
This system of cropping also works on the principles of minimization of production cost and inputs use, development of organic and sustainable farming system in order to mitigate the use of chemicals and ensuring the food and nutritional security to each household.
Multilayer system of cropping is sustainable method of cropping that is cost effective and requires less labour . Therefore, people should be made aware of this type of farming system.
We know that many farmers in different countries are unwillingly killing themselves because they work hard in their land but they don’t get good production.
Farmers who are willing to do work are deprived of different resources like irrigation and good area of agricultural land. In this scenario, they can be motivated to do multi-layer system of cropping which can ultimately solves all these problem.
This system of cropping can helps to uplift the economic condition of farmer. The Multilayer Cropping System is indeed a boon to small & marginal farmers.

OVER FARMING PRACTICE
OVER FARMING PRACTICE
Introduction
Farming is the activity that has been happening since long time ago. The farming includes a lot of activities like keeping cattle, keeping poultry, growing crops, etc. In some areas, the keeping of domestic animals does not happen, but the growing of crops happens almost in all parts of the globe. Different parts of the world grow different types of crops. Some crops do well in certain soils, and others do well in other types of soils. With this, it means that they type of soil does affect the growth of the crop. The crops that do grow in semi-desert and desert areas can't do well in areas where the soil is rich in certain nutrients.
Before, growing or starting farming, it is good and advisable to consider some factors to determine whether the crops you intend to plant will do better. Some of the factors to be considered include the salinity of the soil, the ph. Value and other factors. Also during farming, you should ensure that the soil is rich in nutrients and if the harvest is not a good one, you should do something with the soil. A farmer should add some fertilizer to make sure that the necessary nutrients are present in the soil (Clay, 2013).
Over farming
Farming started the long time ago. The farming activities have been happening since the man knew how to farm. The same soil and same pieces of land that was used in the past are the same pieces of land that are currently being used by farmers. This means that the original nutrients of the soil have been exhausted and the soils have been left with little or no nutrients necessary for good yields. Initially, the quantity of harvest was so good compared to what currently farmers get on the same pieces of farms.
Therefore, the over farming can be explained as the taking too much away from the soils or land and not returning enough back. This over farming can include depleting the soil nutrients, lowering the water table, loss of soil through erosion or being carried by the wind, among many other things. Other factors have led to the increased rate of over farming. Population increase is among the factors. In the past, since the population was still low, farmers used to cultivate a certain piece of land, and after several harvests, they could leave the land and prepare another piece of land and start cultivating.
Currently, since the population has grown big and the land is still constant, there has been barren land to do farming. This has forced farmers to keep cultivating the same piece of land all through with no plans to relocate. This has contributed greatly to the over farming and soil degradation regarding nutrients. Over farming is an issue that needs to be addressed with a lot of seriousness and the necessary measures be taken. Also, farmers should come up with ways of how to improve the quality of the existing lands where they do their farming (Clay, 2013).
Why does over farming matter
The whole world does depend.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
