This document outlines Max Jones' pre-production plan for a post-apocalyptic short film trailer. It includes lists of required props, costumes, sound effects and locations. Potential filming locations include abandoned buildings and farms. A production schedule is proposed, with filming taking place over a week in May and post-production thereafter. Contingency plans address issues like adverse weather or lack of actor availability. Health and safety considerations are also noted. Additional pickup shots may be needed of the protagonist interacting with the desolate environment.

In my trailer/ short movie I
would like to develop the
atmosphere to look murky
and givein an un-natural
apoocolyptic vibe to
present the fact that the
world, in the setting, is
uninhabbitibal for the
human race and only a
small portion of the human
race is left to fester is the
leftovers of what was once
a rich-with-life earth.

4. This is the type of
place where I would
like to set my project,
a real abandonded
building or complex of
buildings that are
overgrown, which is
what would happen in
a realistic situation.
Although, it depends
on what sort
of apocalypse event
happens as some
cannot let plant life
live and a setting
which is overgrown
would not be a
suitable place to film
to make it seem
believable.

In the video, if I were to include
context of what happened to the
world I would edit and create
a montage about the situation,
similar to that seen in the
introduction credits of world war Z.
An alternative to this could include
the characters stumbling across old
news papers or signs which read
things like the images I have
included.

6. These are some props I plan
to use in my project, I
acquired them through a
theatre department I
contacted and they let me
borrow some things.
This sort of clothing will
demonstrate that the world
is set in a post apocolyptic
earth, as seen in many
other pieces of media like:
the walking dead, the book
of eli, 28 days later ect.

7. Location plan
This abandoned farm coplex and
airfield located in Acaster
Malbis seem apropriate for the
distance it is from transporting
props and people. I have rang
the owner to see if I can film
here.
If the shoot may become
comprimised and I am not
allowed to film here there is also
some walking woods nearby I
maybe could use.

Low shot following the characters footsteps
Views from abandoned buildings to induce paranoia and tension
Shot from high up showing the perspective of another wastelander
One after this will be the protagonist looking to the place the person is and choosing to ignore it for the moment
The next shot will be the other character looking down and seeing if the protagonist is still there, but he isnt, the shot that
follows is the protagonist staning behind the other character from a face on perspective and the first movement of
throwing him off the high point they are on.
The shot after this will involve a far away perspective of the body falling off the high point. To make this seem realistic I
may have to use a some clothes that are stuffwd and weighed down to simulate a realistic body fall.
Area shots of the location that are symmetrical and in the middle of the road
Multiple shots of todays world for a flashback scene, maybe a slow mo sequence of a love interest, but not show anyones
face.

9. Pre-production
Reflection:
Over the past year we have been given a number of projects to do which
include different areas of skill and work, advert and animation, audio,
video game animation, print, music video, and now that I have
experienced these I chose what I wanted to do for my FMP. The reason o
chose the course is because of the filming and creating element, so I
thought what would work well and came up with the apocalyptic setting
idea which useses influence from an assortment of movies and tv. My
audience includes a wide array of people, if someone were to ask what
audience a superhero movie were to have, they would say someone
who likes superheros, comic books, and therefore my audience will
include people who liked metalhead, mad max, the road. This group of
people may mostly be in the age range of 24-50 whom are male. My
video will be available to my tutors and people marking it, I may show a
few other people but I may put it on youtube and name it "dissolution
post apocalyptic trailer" For an actual audience.

13. Production Schedule
Day/Lesson Tasks
Monday 6th- Monday 13th may If equipment is hired film all the scenes I have
planned to at an abandoned location, or if I am
unable for an unforeseen issue with the owners of
the land, find somewhere else to film.
Any days I have before filming will be used to complete my PowerPoints,
photographing my props, making outfits for my
characters and filling out my development diaries.
Any days after filming Post production for the video using adobe premier
pro, photoshop, after effects, getting sound effects
and suitable music (if needed)to go with the video.
Completing evaluation.
The weekend of the 25th may Reshoots of the main character interacting with the
broken down world.

14. Extra shoots
When filming my trailer I didn’t get all the shots I needed of the protagonist
interacting with the post apocolyptic world, like wide shots of the charcter walking
through broken down and aondoned places, maybe like fields and forests, and
anything that would look good with the black and white filters im using. This could be
solved as I can now turn the exposure down on some bright footage that could not of
previously used.
