INITIAL PLANS
Your Name
My initial reaction to hearing we had to make a 60-90 second short
film was that this could end up being either really easy or overly
complicated. I could create a film about horror, action, mystery or a
comedy as some examples. I am good at the using the cameras
and acting out scenes but I lack in the directional element of the
video creation which means this will be a big step for me. I don’t
have any opinions on this matter other than wanting to start
production now.
Comedy/H
orror
Two people to act and maybe one or two
people to use cameras and
microphones.
Costumes for the two characters;
-Hockey mask
- Leather jacket
- Cargo trousers
For the man/Woman running
- Casual wear/tracksuit
- Trainers
- Baseball cap
Locations
- wood/forest
- A house or
apartment
building.
- A street
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
 The repeating characters from the mood board show the colour scheme of the antagonist that I desire to
create and the other characters will inspire the “protagonist” that I will create for this short film.
 There is also a relation to the colour scheme as they consist of dark colours and schemes for the characters
and setting/locations

How will your mood board influence your final product?
My mood board is going to help me create the costumes for the film as well as promote colours and lighting for
when I record the sequences. It will serve as a reminder of what I need to create and what I need to refine during
this project, Should all work the right way I should be able to create every aspect of this film within the allotted
time. If I fail this it will also serve as a reminder for my FMP on how to not conduct myself or when to do certain
aspects.
 What techniques, resources, locations, etc will you need to
research?
 I will need to research what makes a good horror film/comedy
 I need to research how to use the equipment in low light
 For my locations I need to use a street at night as well as a house
and forest to record the footage
 For the Foley noises I need to research what makes good
backing noise as well as what I can use for the interaction noises
between the floor and objects.
