Fluidotherapy is a therapeutic treatment that uses heated air and massaging cellulose particles to provide relief from pain and stiffness. It transfers heat through convection by circulating heated air through cellulose particles, causing them to move like a liquid over the affected area. The patient places the area in a machine containing the particles suspended in heated air, allowing heat, massage, and improved blood circulation, reduced inflammation, and increased range of motion. Fluidotherapy has advantages like allowing active movement during heat therapy and providing dry, comfortable heat, and is used to treat inflammation, aid post-operative rehabilitation, and decrease swelling and pain while increasing range of motion.
