Facebook: The Future of Travel Marketing. ILTM Keynote 2013. Lee McCabeLee McCabe
Large, people-based platforms allow for three things: inspiration, conversion, and retention. That's what Facebook is for travel marketers—and the most successful marketers incorporate all three.
These are the slides from my keynote presentation at MADLaT, 2014, on generations, games, and education. I describe what is said about generational differences and the top 10 reasons people say they "cannot" use games, and then present the research related to these as myths, facts, or something in between.
Social Media as a Relationship Management ToolMaureen Kuether
This presentation will define the public relations theory of relationship management and identify how it can be utilized through social media by examining social analytics applications. Moving away from traditional measurements focused on quantity, organizations should measure their success based on the quality of the relationship between an organization and its publics and can do so using social analytics.

Architecting Happiness: How the digital experience is shaping the future.michael kraabel
As our world becomes increasingly connected and digital, we struggle to find ways to weave the human element in our daily experiences. Whatever you learned about web and user experience might be wrong, and you may actually be doing more harm than good. We will discover how governments, big corporations, Hollywood and game designers have learned how to separate pleasure from happiness to create more meaningful experiences for their fans and followers. The end results could save humanity (or at least make us a little happier).
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Fecal Microbiota Transplant. A new hope fo...Find Good Health
IBDs including irritable bowel syndrome (ibs) or ulcerative colitis (uc) are a set of diseases developing into an epidemic. The unusual and recent rise in these kind of diseases most notably on developed countries point to a recent and area specific etiology, not a better healthcare and diagnosis.
Recent researchs are pointing to a healthier immune system and intestinal flora in undeveloped countries' population and an imbalance in our gut flora caused by excessive use of antibiotics.

Social Devices: How Much Exposure Is Too Much? JaclynDyson
This presentation is based on how social devices are changing the "social" in humans, specifically what it is doing to our younger generation. The way communication is happening in the present is mostly through technology. Children are exposed to technology very early in life now and this is changing how they interact with others/or thereof. Albert Einstein's quote embedded in my presentation is very simplistic but powerful.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

2. • According to a survey done by Lunden, 96% of
Americans play mobile games at home.
Image via SaharMohamed (Flickr)
3. 53% of American play mobile games in bed.
Image via Ned Guthrie (Flickr)
4. • Studies shown that mobile radiation makes
people to take longer to fall asleep, and lesser
time in deep sleep.
Image via Nash 95 (Flickr)
5. • However, research published in Epidemiology
says that mobile phone causes much higher
risk of getting eye cancer, but their studies still
need confirmation.
Image via Maxime GRISETTO (Flickr)
6. • A survey shows that 44% of people in U.S and
U.K plays mobile games, and the number is
still growing. In addition, this was in 2012, so
the percentage definitely went up a lot.
Image via Ian Dick (Flickr)
7. • 73% of Canadian citizen play mobile games in
bathroom, and 62% in bed.
Image via jenny downing (Flickr)
8. You need to stop playing your mobile phones on
the toilet, or else the possibility of getting
hemorrhoid is very high.
Image via PlayStation.Blog (Flickr)
9. • After all the percentage above, do you still
want to constantly play mobile games?
Image via mu_ne3 (Flickr)
10. • Do you really want to miss out all the real fun,
and adventures that you can have?
Image via Duncan Wang (ME)
12. • 32% of people play to kill time, and 34% of
people play because the games are fun, and
some play to flirt, connect with friends.
Image via Teddy James (Flickr)
13. • Killing time and playing games because it’s fun,
but do you really think sports, adventures, family
time, hanging out with friends, and travel are
really more boring than mobile games?
Image via Moyan Brenn (Flickr)
14. • Or even less meaningful?
Images via Duncan Wang (Me)
15. More negative effects on mobile gaming are
• 1. Playing while driving.
• 2. Wasted hours of time, and it can adds up to
a day, a week, or even a month.
• 3. Sleep problems, due to waking up at night
to play mobile games, or just play mobile
game throughout the night.
• 4. Spending money on the game.
Image via dorian lelek (Flickr)
16. • People would play
mobile games before
their meals are up in a
restaurant instead of
chatting.
Images via Duncan Wang (ME)
17. • In 2012, there are already 100 million people
in U.S who play mobile games, and it is
growing 35% each year, which means that
there are 35 million more people who started
to play mobile games every year.
Image via Ewan Mclain
18. • Mobile games stimulated the economics a lot,
for example, the founder of the game Clash of
Clans, made 892 million last year, you can see
why mobile gaming helped the economics
quite much.
Image via Richard Chen (Flickr)
19. • As I’m trying to say all throughout my
flipboard, try to find some other healthy
activities instead of playing games on your
smartphone.
Image via Duncan Wang(ME)
20. • Lastly, limiting yourself towards mobile
gaming will allow you to discover more.
