This document summarizes a student's senior project where they created and taught a lesson plan as an assistant teacher. The student researched education issues, created a lesson plan on the American Revolution that met state standards, and taught it to sophomore students. They worked with a facilitator to plan and overcome challenges in keeping students engaged. Through the process, the student learned about the significant time commitment of teaching and discovered characteristics that effective teachers possess as they explored potential for a future career in education.
