- For the hydrogenation of ketones, the maximum conversion reached was 98% using Raney-Nickel catalyst at 150°C, 1000 psi, and 24 h residence time in a batch reactor.
- The alcohols were then oligomerized over an HZSM-5 catalyst in a packed bed reactor to produce hydrocarbons similar to commercial gasoline. This occurred at 320°C and a WHSV of 1.3-2.7 h-1.
- Both reaction stages produced the desired products with high conversion rates using optimal temperature, pressure, catalysts and reactor configurations according to the MixAlco process.
