Kieran Kirk Bradley proposes creating a radio documentary exploring addiction among artists and musicians. He will research the topic through facts, surveys of young adults, and an interview with an alcohol specialist group. By creating interviews, music beds, and sound effects, Kieran hopes to bring awareness to addiction issues and help those struggling. He believes radio is a good format as it allows the listener's imagination while conveying the message. Kieran will evaluate his work throughout and seek feedback from peers and Two Rivers Radio, where he hopes to air the documentary.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

York College 48357
Student Name and Number:
Kieran Kirk Bradley
Project proposal title and date:
Exploring Addiction, artists and music.
Main area of activity:
I will be working in Audio/Radio.
Rationale:
I have created a lot of projects throughout my 2 years of study; last year I created a documentary
on Brexit equipped with a sound bed and different audio segments, music and sound effects. I
have also created a documentary exploring Mental Health within music, that was equipped with
music, factual information and an interview, I also managed to get my Mental Health Documentary
played on a radio station in York called, Two Rivers Radio. I have also learnt a lot of different skills
throughout my 2 years, I have become better at editing on Adobe Audition, I have also learnt how
to make jingles and sweepers, I made several for Two Rivers Radio, I have also learnt how to
conduct a professional manner, when looking to gain contacts and get my work shown. All of this
will help me when I come to create my Final Major Project, because I will need to put them skills to
use, when editing, and also be able to communicate with people when asking for interviews.
Project Concept:
I have decided to create a Radio Documentary exploring Addiction, music and artists in. In the way
of research, I will need to look at facts, surrounding my chosen topic and I will conduct a survey to
get responses and views from my chosen target audience, which is young people, aged 18-35, but
overall my product is aimed at anyone is going through a situation at home, that is surrounded by
issues of alcohol. I also want this product to be a helping hand for someone that is going through
issues with alcohol. I will also be trying to get an interview with an alcohol specialist group in York.
All of this will help my project, the surveys will help my understand young people’s drinking habits,
researching facts will help me understand the issue more, and conducting an interview will give me
a great chance to hear first-hand the work that specialist groups are doing. I decided to do it in the
format of a radio documentary, because I think that would be the best way for me to put forward
this topic, I also enjoy the research aspect of it, and creating music beds, and conducting
interviews, by creating a documentary I could do all of this. Also by doing this I can work more on
my editing skills and put my own mark on it. I think Radio is the right format for this issue, because
I have listened to documentary’s in the past, that the BBC have produced, and they have fulfilled
every aspect. Obviously radio doesn’t deliver any visuals, but I don’t think that will be a problem, I
actually think that it will be a benefit, because then the listener has the freedom to let his/hers mind
run wild with what the presenter or person talking may look like, and I also think it’s a benefit,
because it gives me the chance to make it my own, I will be able to choose all of the sounds
effects myself and produce it the way the way I want. I will hopefully try to do the interviews on
location, and I will be broadcasting it on An Alright Show, live on Two Rivers Radio. I have decided
to do it as a radio documentary because, I love radio, I love having an idea and being able to run
with it and make it in to something that I could show a mass number of people. I have also chosen
to create this documentary, on this topic, because I have had alcoholic family members, and I think
we do have a big drinking issue in the UK and needs to be talked about more and brought
awareness to, and I think this is the best way. I will also need to research artists and bands that
suffer with addiction.

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I plan to evaluate my work, by carrying out Production Reflections throughout the stages on my
Final Major Product, I will also do a full final Evaluation at the end of all stages. This will help me a
lot when I come to go to University, as I will need to evaluate throughout my studies. Also, it will
help me with my general production skills and creative process, as evaluating will help me look at
how I could improve and ultimately make my products better in the future. My product will be
reviewed by a number of my peers, and also by a contact that I have managed to create called
Two Rivers Radio, I plan to get my documentary aired on there.
