Cause Of Plastic Pollution
The following poem illustrates the problem of pollution, focusing on plastic, in the marine
environment.
The best place to be is next to the sea where tired feet gladly greet, sand so soft and white.
The taste of salty air, a cool breeze blowing through untied hair,
Warmth all around, from the sun beaming down, against a backdrop of majestic blue.
Hear the birds sing, the waves crashing,
And know one thing is true.
The ocean is drowning in a sea of plastic,
Before long marine life will be in a casket.
The beauty of the beach will be no more
Once plastic covers the shore.
Birds are entangled, turtles are endangered, trash litters the ocean floor.
A plan of action needs to be taken with all humans participating.
Oceans are water, water is life, and right now life is suffocating.
Plastics currently represent the vast majority of human made debris present in the oceans
(Reisser, Shaw, Wilcox, Hardersty, Proietti, Thums, Pattiaratchi, n.d., p.1). According to Sigler
(2014), the magnitude of plastic pollution carried to sea has significantly multiplied over the
past several decades (p. 2). Due to this increase in plastic pollution, oceans are becoming
increasingly dangerous to marine wildlife, the environment and human health; which is why
policies that ban plastic bags and single use, disposable dishes are crucial to the sustainability of
Earth s water supply. Besides being unsightly, plastic in the oceans cause major detrimental
effects to marine life. Animals can get entangled or even die from ingestion. Globally, at least
23% of marine mammal species, 36% of seabird species, and 86% of sea turtle species are
known to be affected by plastic debris (Sigler, 2014, p. 3). Some plastic in the ocean gets broken
down into smaller pieces that become increasingly toxic, which then get eaten by fish, and
following the food chain end up effecting human health (Reisser et al., n.d., p. 2). Multiple studies
have proven that single use, disposable plastic is the most common type of litter found in the
oceans. Annually almost 280 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide, the majority of
consumer products used today are comprised of some form of plastic (Sigler, 2014, p. 1). Plastic
was made to last, it

Goblin Market Social Code Essay
The Victorian Era was an era where the British history was under Queen Victoria s reign for

Health Information Exchange Is The Electronic Movement Of...
Health Information Exchange is the electronic movement of healthcare information amongst
organizations according to the national standards. HIE as it is widely known, serves the purpose of
providing a safe, timely, and efficient way of accessing or retrieving patient clinical data. Health
Information Exchange allows for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other vital healthcare
professionals to have appropriate access and securely share vital medical information regarding
patient care. Health Information Exchange has been in efforts of developing for over 20 years in
the United States. In 1990 the Community Health Management Information Systems (CHMIS)
program was formed by the Hartford Foundation to foster a development of a centralized data
repository in seven different geographically defined communities. Many of the communities
struggled in securing a cost effective technology with interoperable data sources and gaining
political support. In the mid 1990s a similar initiative began known as the Community Health
Information Networks (CHINs) with the intention of sharing data between providers in a more cost
effective manner. In 2004, the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research Health Information
Technology Portfolio was funded $166 million in grants and contracts to improve the quality and
safety to support more patient centered care. This was the beginning of the progress we have seen
in HIE today. Health Information Exchange devolvement serves the purpose of improving

Virtual Private Network ( Vpn ) Service And Steps

Before installing the VPN services, however, a number of things must be taken into
consideration. By evaluating who is using the VPN, the hardware necessary to make good
connections, the pros and cons of differing connection protocols, and evaluating past security
problems, setting up the VPN services becomes a much smoother process. VPN s and Firewalls
Anyone who will be accessing the VPN services should have a firewall in place.Once a VPN
connection is established, the client is essentially able to access information behind the
company s firewall, thus creating an access hole. Therefore, insisting a client use and maintain a
firewall is another layer in the security of the VPN setup. The ease of changing the firewall rules
to allow VPN connections should be addressed. Very old firewalls, either appliance types or
software types, may be difficult or impossible to configure to allow VPN access.A small business
may stay with an old firewall for many reasons, one of which might be the fact that there has been
no reason to upgrade in the past. It would be prudent to check the firewall documentation before
becoming enmeshed in the VPN process, only to have it fail for lack of access, or creating a setup
that might be considered insecure. User Considerations When setting up the VPN server(s) at the
main office, who is using the connection and how much access to the internal network,

Gang Vs Gang Case Study
J.T operates exactly like a franchise. J.T must pay a 20 percent due towards the board of
directors of the gang. The boards of directors are essentially the big bosses of the gang. Anything

separated as fixed and variable cost. The fixed costs are the dues and the Extortionary taxes and
the variable costs are weapons or mercenary fighter. Any earning made after these cost go towards

The Yellow Wallpaper as a Guide To Insanity and Madness
The Yellow Wallpaper as a Guide To Insanity
There comes John, and I must put this away he hates to have me write a word (p659). As evident
by the above quote, Gilman places the narrator of The Yellow Wallpaper as secluded as she
could be; she is placed in a large house, surrounded only by her husband and by little help
(Jennie), when it is unfortunately clear that her relationship with her husband is based on distance
and misunderstanding: It is so hard to talk with John about my case, because he is so wise, and
because he loves me so (p 663). Gilman further confines her narrator as it becomes clear that the
poor soul has absolutely no one to talk to; that is, no one who can understand her. The narrator is
cornered by her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any other perspective that she could have reached (such as her husband or hired help) is biased
from the core! That is, biased from the narrator s point of view. In some cases of mental illness the
subject questions its own reality, yet the narrator is positively sure about her own.
The narrator does not even waste her time on trying to get a second or third opinion. She knows
what she sees, and she sees a woman figure behind the horrific wallpaper.
Her tone is rather calm for such a discovery, and that is the second aspect of her tone; she is fully
comfortable with her imaginary world; far more comfortable than she is in her real world.
Throughout the story, Gilman holds us attentive and sympathetic due to the specific positioning of
the narrator; the narrator confides in us and us alone. The whole story is told as journal entries and
personal thoughts. In reading the journal entries we fell privileged and intimate. Yet it is the
personal thoughts that actually hold us captive in the realm of lunacy, a literal invitation into an
insane mind in which we have no other option rather than actually seeing the twisted world that she
sees, through her own eyes.
To further establish the role of the narrator, we must now clarify the meaning of the story. The
latter objective becomes easily feasible, for Gilman s Why I Wrote The Yellow Wallpaper leaves
little place for argument. It was not intended

Blogs as Collaborative Writing Tools Essay
Blogs as Collaborative Writing Tools
Blogs are widely embraced as a tool that has revolutionized publishing on the web. It s easy and
it s fun to keep a blog, two elements that are always attractive. I like blogs, but what I m going to
write about in this essay is a way in which I think blogs don t work; or, at least, a way in which
blogs didn t work in my teaching in the way I tried to allow it to happen. Just to telegraph my
points clearly: First, and I only want to touch on this point briefly, I learned that the logic extreme

I want to note two important things, at least in terms of how it all turned out for this class. First,
this assignment doesn t have any particular requirements in terms of the number of postings, the
subject of the postings, or anything else. We set up the groups on the first day of class, more or
less as a quick and somewhat hap hazzard exercise. Second, this was the only element of the class
that was even remotely along the lines of an electronic discussion that is, while there was a class
mailing list, one that figures prominently into my discussion here in a moment, there wasn t a
specific requirement or even expectation that students post messages on the mailing list.
(Here I gave a brief show and tell of the blog space and discussed how it turned out poorly, I
thought). Note also that most of these blog spaces weren t really dynamic at all in that they didn t
involve exchange between posters and there wasn t what I would call a conversation going on
here. People made their posts and moved on. Now, I want to talk only briefly about my

Just like the influence of Muslim on Hindu, Christianity also has huge impact on a Hindu society.
The British Colonization of India had many effects on these beliefs. These effects ranged from a
different use of the Caste System and how it was practiced, or, on a larger scale where many
Hindus converted due to the many circumstances surrounding the conversion (Unknown, 2016) .
Caste system plays a huge role in Hinduism. There are mainly four caste The Brahmans, usually

Separate But Equal
Separate but equal is a doctrine that separated any and everything that had to do with blacks and
whites. This doctrine made it so all public facilities like water fountains, restrooms, restaurants,
and schools were separate based on skin color. Blacks were not able to attend to white schools.
They did not want them to be educated because then they could have the risk of losing their jobs
to them. So they were giving less books and attention and were put in different schools. They also
would have to give up anything to the whites and call them by Mr. or Ms.. The whites however
would just call them by their first name. A black man could never introduce themself, a white
person had to. If a white person wanted a seat on the bus the black person would have to get up

Plessy decided to try and challenge the court. Plessy then purposely sat in the white only railcar

to go to a white school because he claimed that the kids at the white schools were treated then the

Both human and economic cost of global hazards are increasing over time due to one reason,
this reason is that global hazards are more frequent in the present day. Global hazards can be

Taa 18-22 Case Study
The Army has already established the need for maintaining an operational reserve, through former
and current TAAs, capable of breaching AC capability gaps to meet joint force requirements.
However, the analysis lacks resources to accomplish this guidance effectively. The demand for RC
forces requires generating more operational unit readiness to fully complement the rotational force
pool to meet the deployment demand at the same standard as the AC. After conducting a Doctrine,
Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities and Policy

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the most popular movies of all times. It s reach spreads
across generations and countries. At first glance Rocky Horror, as it is commonly referred to, can
seem like a crude movie that s sole purpose is to shock the audience with it s foul language and
sexual content. This is not the case; Rocky Horror brings attention to the genderroles placed on
women and men in society. This message is still important today because more than ever women
and men feel limited in their own bodies.
The opening credits identify to us who fits into what categories. Whilst listen to Richard O Brien
singing the infamous opening song the cast list appears on the screen with the actors name, the
character they play and a gender role they fit into. Dr. Frank n Furter is a scientist, Brad is a hero,
and Magenta is a domestic. Right off the bat we get a sense of how the characters are going to
act in the movie with these titles. The scientist should be smart, feeble and nerdy, the hero will be
strong and not afraid of anything and of course the domestic will be complacent and compliant.

Qin Shi Huang Dbq
Qin Shi Huang was born in 259 BC and eventually ascended to the throne of the kingdom of Qin
at the age of 21 creating a war and declaring himself China s first emperor (Source 1). Although he
did bring unification to China, Qin Shi Huang was a forbidding and brutal dictator who abused his
power and dishonoured his people and country. This assignment will clearly highlight the negative
aspects of Qin Shi Huang, including: the banning of Confucius, how he enforced of unnecessarily
strict laws and how his arrogance and ignorance eventually took over.
Qin Shi Huang was a fierce leader who was feared by his people. (Source 1) Believing that
knowledge about the past was dangerous, as were ideas that encouraged free and independent
thinking, he banned the teaching of Confucius. He instead preferred what is known as legalism.
Han Fei tzu, a Legalist and the tutor of Shi Huangdi, wrote, The ruler alone should possess the
power, wielding it like lightning or like thunder. Qin Shi Huang ordered books and writing that
did not support his ideas to be burned. Over 460 scholars were killed or enslaved for owning
banned books. As religion played a big role in Ancient Chinathe disrespecting of his subject s

Informative Speech On Henry Ford
I am here to tell you about Henry Ford and how he made the Ford Motor Company famous.
Henry Ford was born on July thirtieth, eighteen sixty three at his dad s farm in Wayne County
Michigan. Henry s parents were William Ford and Mary Ford. William was an Irish
businessman and Mary died while giving birth to her last child. Henry had four siblings, two
brothers and two sisters. His sisters were Margaret Ford and Jane Ford. His brothers were William
Ford Jr. and Robert Ford. Henry attended local private schools as a young boy and also attended a
private grammar school. Later Henry attended Bryant and Stratton Business College. As Henry

One of the first automobiles and probable one of the most successful was the Model T. This
automobile was reliable but since it was one of Henry s first it was a little high in price. In
nineteen o nine Henry started to mass produce the Model T and it was a big hit. The original
cost of the Model T when Henry first started producing them was eight hundred and fifty dollars.
This may sound very cheap today but this was very expensive in the early nineteen hundreds.
With this cost Henry was not impressed and only met half of his goal. Henry tried to meet his
goal by creating a chain of conveyer belts to move parts through the factory faster, more
efficiently, and at a steady pace. Henry also had a new idea he wanted to try with having only
one person perform a single and small task. With Henry having one person per task he was going
to need hundreds of people to work, but Henry had no trouble with that because he was paying
five dollars a day to the people who worked in his factory. By making these simple adjustments to
the way Henry produced the automobiles, it cut the time that it took to assemble them
tremendously. The time to assemble a new Model T went from a long twelve and a half hours in
nineteen twelve to a very short one hour and a half in nineteen fourteen. This was amazing for
Henry but this only brought the price down a little bit, this meant not everyone or most people
could afford it. Henry decided to try to get the cost lower and he soon succeeded by making his
own glass and steel. This brought the cost down but also made sure the product where tough and
were exactly what Henry needed for his automobiles. By making his own materials it brought the
price down to five hundred and fifty dollars in nineteen thirteen. Henry still thought the price
needed to be lower so everyone could afford to have a Model T. By nineteen fifteen the

The Inequality Of Income Distribution
In an economic sense, income distribution refers to how wages and salaries are split among a
society of people. The top earners in a society are naturally considered to be the richest, whereas
the lowest earners are the poorest. In any society, such differentiation in earnings commonly
creates class systems based on yearly income. This structure is often measured by labeling people
as lower class, middle class, or upper class depending on yearly earnings even though there can be
a large difference in the top and bottom incomes of a class. Concerns about the inequality of the
distribution of income in any society are often brought about when individuals believe that one
income class is earning too large or too little of a percentage of the total income. In the United States
however, certain policies and programs are in place to combat criticism against the fairness of
income distribution. In addition to these policies and programs, the United States was founded on
the belief that any individual, regardless of social classor birth status, should be as successful or
unsuccessful as they wish depending on their ability to capitalize on opportunities presented to
them throughout their life. Commonly known as The American Dream, this notion towards freely
being able to create one s own wealth and worth can be seen throughout the history of the United
States and is a major factor that guided America to become one of the world s economic super
powers. After recognizing a historic

EugГ©nie Danglars is another example of the destructiveness that comes when women are not
following society s standards. An independent and atypical woman, EugГ©nie defies her father,
leaves home, and disguises herself as a man. Her decision to run away with Louise d Armilly
was a true statement of women s lack of rights. As she declares on page 411, I told him about my
fear of traveling as a woman. He understood me perfectly and offered to get a man s passport for
me. I received this one two days later; I wrote in the words, traveling with his sister myself .
Whether or not this fear was legitimate, it shows how both society and individuals viewed
women as weaker and lesser. Because EugГ©nie left her stereotypical role, she faced challenges
that she overcame only because she cut her hair off and dressed like a man. Therefore, her
defiance of classic responsibilities shows that women are viewed as problematic, lesser, and
pathetic compared to males. Lastly, Madame Danglars also represents the consequences of
breaking the mold. She dishonors her husband by having an affair, and is thus the mother of
Benedetto, the illegitimate son whom she thinks has died. When Madame Danglars later discovers
the child is actually alive, she feels unbelievably guilty. Her daughter, EugГ©nie, despises her and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Drug Delivery System
Ophthalmic drug delivery is the most complicated drug delivery due to its unique anatomical and
physiological barriers. Viruses, bacteria and fungi are the three most common pathogens causing
various ocular disorders. The infections can be either local, where only the ocular tissues are
infected or systemic where the infection spreads to various other organs. Immunocompromised
patients are more prone to these infections. While some infections are self limiting and benign,
others are associated with serious consequences, such as vision loss. In spite of various anti
infective agents being readily available, delivery of these compounds to the target tissue is still a
challenging task. While the anterior chamber infections are treated mostly by topical... Show more

Disadvantages of Ocular Drug Delivery System
Limited permeability across the cornea, drainage of the administered dose into the lachrymal duct,
leads to systemic side effects and short term therapeutic effect due to eye blinking results in
frequent dosage regimen.
Barriers in Ocular Drug Delivery System
1.Drug loss from the ocular surface
After instillation, the flow of lacrimal fluid removes instilled compounds from the surface of the
eye. Even though the lacrimal turnover rate is only about 1 Ојl/min the excess volume of the
instilled fluid is flown to the nasolacrimal duct rapidly in a couple of minutes. Another source of
non productive drug removal is its systemic absorption instead of ocular absorption. Systemic
absorption may take place either directly from the conjunctival sac via local blood capillaries or
after the solution flow to the nasal cavity. Anyway, most of small molecular weight drug dose is
absorbed into systemic circulation rapidly in few minutes. This contrasts the low ocular

Why Is Franz Marc Important
Intro:
I selected the artist Franz Marc. Franz Marc was born in Munich, Germany in February 8, 1880.
He went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and is known for cubism and expressionism in his

When I laid my eyes on Franz Marc s art, the first element of art that caught my eye was his use of
vivid and bold colors. I also enjoyed the geometrical qualities (cubism) of his paintings.

I picked the rose s stem because I interpret it as a strong and dependable way to connect my

meaning of the stem for me is that it reminds me of how I want to live my life and how it
connects to everything to each other, and if someone tries to touch and change it, I would defend
my beliefs and dreams to fulfill how I want to live life. This is the reason why I chose this stem.
The flower that I chose for my tattoo is the sunflower. This is because, for me, the sunflower is a
symbol of purity, happiness, joyfulness, compassionate, and optimistic. These personalities are
a symbol to remind me this is how I want to live my life, like living life happily and full of

percent of the Earths freshwater. But the Nile River is the longest when calculating width.
Being as big a it is, the amazon holds a massive number of dfferent types of species of wildlife
with different kinds of sub ecosystems to provide for them. When I think of the Amazon I first
think of the terrestrial ecosystems. These are the land based eviroments. I m going to take the

As I arrived I met Joyce( leader of the foundation) along with her son who is legally blind and
had been in chemotherapy for four years. When I met her she greeted me and had this smile and
told me, Thank you for taking your time to volunteer it really means a lot to us . I saw families
coming in with T shirts with names on it and I figure they were families that were supporting a
friend or family member who was at the time or is battling NF. It felt great just even volunteering
and being part of the foundation because I was able to interact with families as they came in . I
really build a connection with one of the families I had came across with and opened up to me
about their younger son who had just survived NF. It was just one of those moments where all
you can do is support them with your presence. This foundation felt more like we were all a
family gathering and supporting one another and knowing that they re not alone. I was assigned
to do cashier for raffle tickets, but Joyce was nice enough for volunteers to rotate hourly to
perform different tasks. None of the tasks that I did were hard in any way. I was able to be
cashier for raffle tickets, guide families as they walk to support the NF, and organize all of the
gifts that were going to give out on the raffle tickets. It was quite enjoyable. Everyone that
volunteer there was very friendly and was very helpful. They even provided us lunch and a
fifteen minute break to volunteers. I really liked the way that they cared and were kind to us
throughout the time we were present. I really got to gain experience in learning how to do things
and gain more knowledge in what the purpose of the foundation was for. I think the best
experience I had was meet celebrities that came along and support families. They had celebrity

Material Processing And Its Effect On The Construction Of...
Introduction
Usually, the original materials are not suitable for some applications. Therefore, to achieve some
goals of material, we need to process the original materials. By the heat treatment, cold works, and
chemical processes, material processing can change the properties of the original materials
(Materials Processing, n.d.). For example, we do different heat treatments to steels to obtain
different hardness types of steels. According to Totten, annealing is the process that we heat the
steel to the critical point and turn off the heat. We keep the steel in the furnace until the steel
completely cool down to the room temperature (Totten, 1997). The purpose is to make the
distribution of the components uniform in the steel. This process can improve the mechanical
properties of the steel, such as making steel softer to machining and protecting steel from
deforming. Normalizing refers that we leave the heated steel in the air after the steel reached the
critical point (Totten, 1997). Similar to annealing, the purpose of normalizing treatment is also
making components in the steel uniformly distributed, whereas the distributional performance is
not as good as annealing heat treatment. Normalizing treatment can also make the steel softer in
order to process. Quenching is that we cool down the steel in a short time after the steel reached the
critical point, such as quenching steel in water (Totten, 1997). The reason we do quenching is that
it can increase the hardness and

Unfortunately, the air has been polluted through various activities including emissions from
industrial and manufacturing activities, burning fossil fuels, household and farming chemicals,
carbon monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide among others. Although there have been many attempts
across the world to solve the problem of air pollution, it is evidently clear that these measures
including the state and federal laws are not enough to end this problem without everyone s
involvement. At present, many nations appear to strive towards ensuring that the air is clean.
However, because of continuous industrialization and necessary urban development, the
atmosphere progressively experiences increase in air pollution. Nations as well as the entire world
will be able to reduce pollution levels if not eliminated to reduce the burden of disease such as
stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, chronic and acute respiratory sicknesses including asthma if they
are aware and educated about the causes and the health effects of air pollution.
Classification of Air Pollutants Air pollution emanates from a number of causes. The most serious

of New Yorkers paid twenty dollars per ticket, or the equivalent to three hundred sixty nine dollars

concentration camp went through an abundance of physical challenges, pain and suffering that no
human being should ever have to endure. What happened during the three years and four months
that the camp was running has brought countries together to realize just how unjust the entire
Holocaust was to minorities. SS officers would greet the Jews and Polish political prisoners,

yet to go through. Prisoners either followed their orders or rebelled in hopes of it making a
difference. Families were torn apart, friendships were seemingly broken, and soon they were...

Pilecki came up with was that he could hopefully begin a resistance movement and bring
knowledge back to the Polish army. After noticing Hitler and his enormous army seizing Poles
and forcing them to go to the death camp in his own country, he felt that it was his duty to take
action. Amazingly, he did escape and make it back home, later to write a book on his journey

European Jews were held in concentration camps, but that is not the case. Just about one year
after the first Auschwitz camp was built, a second one was set up, which came to be the

Clean Development Mechanism ( Cdm )
The UK has/have set particular targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is presented in
four different time periods, in addition, only the first carbon budget has been completed. The UK
is currently in the progress of the second budget, which is 2013 to 2017. Meeting carbon budget
is not the same as reducing emissions as the budget refers only to some sources of emissions.
The price of carbon has recently been very low and, as a result, the governments have introduced
carbon tax in the Finance Act of 2011.The Carbon Floor Price (CFP) is a top up tax, it exists to
boost the existing EU price of carbon (Webster, 2013). Only electricity producers can top up tax if
the market price falls below a certain level as electricity producers use carbon fuels. (Rudd,
Greenhouse gasemissions, 2013)
Clean development mechanism (CDM) is the second market based Kyoto mechanism, under the
Kyoto Protocol. According to (Clean Development Mechanism , 2014) CDM allows a country with
an emission reduction or emission limitation commitment under the Kyoto Protocol . In addition,
CDM encourages developing countries to reduce greenhouse gases and meet sustainable
development objectives, which may be to improve air and water quality. Offsetting help deals with
environmental problems. Middlemen companies are called offset firms, which predicts a company

The Mormon Religion
The Mormon religion first came to light in the early 1800s, in the northeastern United States. The
Second Great Awakening provided the perfect religious atmosphere for new religious dogma.
Furthermore, this new religion offered fresh perspective and ideals; which helped to further
alienate its followers from mainstream gospel. Faced with extreme prejudice from Protestants, it
wasn t until the Mormons fled west that their religious prerogative flourished. The hyper
emotional state of affairs originating from the Second Great Awakening resulted in religious
turbulence which served as the foundation for Mormonism whose continued development and
survival directly correlated to westward expansion and the freedoms of the West. Early in the
19th century, The Second Great Awakening, a popular evangelical movement, was raging through
upstate New York. Nicknamed the Burned Over District, this region was often swept by the
flames of the Holy Spirit thus creating a supercharged atmosphere perfect for up and coming
religious zealots (Gopnik 4). Within this tidal wave of religious fervor the stage was set for the
introduction of Mormonism in the 1820s by self proclaimed prophet, Joseph Smith. Claiming the
angel Moroni paid him a visit and guided him to a set of buried golden plates, Smith purported that
God had blessed him with the ability to understand the ancient texts inscribed upon them (Gopnik

National Infrastructure Protection Plan For Implementing...
There are certain regulatory agencies that have oversite of the national grid. These agencies
ensure the power companies adhere to the rules and regulations set forth in enacted bills as well
as employ security best practices to limit the risk of intrusion from cyber attacks (Li et al., 2012).
The federal agencies that have the greatest amount of oversite on the power grid are the
Department of Homeland Defense (DHS), The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Department of Homeland Security
DHS is tasked with creating a national infrastructure protection plan for all critical infrastructure
in the country. The plan is designed to ensure critical infrastructure is safe, secure and reliable
enough to prevent, withstand or neutralize deliberate efforts by terrorist to exploit or destroy the
power grid (Li et al., 2012). The plan also details procedures for strengthening national
preparedness as well as providing timely responses to cyber attacks. The goal of DHS is to ensure
the power grid employs static methods in its operations that allow it to quickly respond and recover
from a catastrophic event (Kuder et al., 2010).
Department of Energy
The DOE was established to organize disjointed regulatory processes and create a national energy
plan (Kuder et al., 2010). One of the main functions of the DOE is to monitor and report on the
security of the smart grid. The primary objective of the reports are to provide data that may be

Dangers Of Food Poisoning
Each year there are 76 million cases of food poisoning in the US and most go unreported. Food
poisoning and foodborne illnesses are more of a threat than many people think. The CDC
reports that about 325 thousand people are hospitalized each year due to food poisoning and
5,000 people die every year. For many people they do not even know that they are eating tainted
or contaminated food. The biggest thing that people can do is to wash their foods thoroughly and
cook foods all the way through. Harmful microbes can only be correctly killed using heat, whether
it is washing your foods correctly of cook them all the way. Food borne illnesses are on the rise
and they need to be stopped so that people can eat food without the worry of whether what they are
putting in their mouths is tainted or contaminated (Food Poisoning).
One dangerous and common foodborne illness that many in the US are affected by each year is E.
Coli. E.coli or Escherichia coli is a bacterium that is found in the intestines of mammals and birds.
About .1 percent of all bacteria in the intestines is E. coli, most E. coli help with digestion and

Personally, tuning was the hardest part of learning to play the ukulele. From experience, I have
simple tricks that any beginner can use to tune their ukulele. The first way to do it is with a pitch
pipe. A pitch pipe is a set of pipes blown to set the pitch. When I received my ukulele in the box
came a pitch pipe to help tune my ukulele. You play the note and twist the tuning pegof each string
to imitate the pitch. The second way is to use a piano and play a G, C, E, and A. Then tune your

way to tune your ukulele, it tells you if the string is too flat or sharp and makes a sound when it s

movies, the basic aim of both lead characters i.e. Gordan Gekko (WallStreet) and Seth Davis
(Boiler Room) is to make money. Both men are stockbrokers who deal in high finance in the
exclusive world of Wall Street. However, with both movies are set in different decades the way
they go about doing so differs.

Boiler Room on the other hand, is in set in the more familiar nineties. Overall, this decade was one
of prosperity, hard work and a significant rise in the standards of living for people all over the
USA. The attitude of the decade seemed to be work hard, play hard and all the rest will follow.
Wealth was seen as something that was easily accessible to all those who wanted it it was simply
a matter of getting it. There is easy money to be made in start ups and dot coms. Young people can
be millionaires before they even hit their twenties. People like Sabeer Bhatia of Hotmail fame have
set the standards.
Both movies however, are undeniably focused on capitalism and the making, controlling and of
course spending of money. As we see in both movies, it is made by sometimes unlawful means, and
controlled by these same unethical people. The occurrence of these immense amounts of wealth is
advertised by the spending of the main characters in the films. Expensive restaurants, expensive
hotels, expensive homes, expensive paintings, state of the art technology (think Gordan Gekko s
cool cellular phone which at that time was perhaps the height of technology!), expensive suits and
so on are symbols of this wealth.
In the movie Wall Street , we also see a little bit of control exercised over the blatant capitalism.

Similarities Between The Matrix And The Allegory Of The Cave
The Allegory of the Cave is one of Greek philosopher Plato s most known pieces that he has ever
written. It is an allegory, where humans are characterised, and been portrayed as being
imprisoned by their bodies and what they perceive is only by sight. In the allegory of the cave
Plato wanted to show how true reality is not always what it seems. A group of prisoners were
chained up in a cave since their childhood; each prisoner was chained to each other by their
necks, and ankles. They are not able to move, and when they did it caused pain, so they were
forced to sit and stare, at a blank wall while they were in the cave. Behind the prisoners there was

I see no similarities with my life with both of these ideas. I find the Matrix to be too much of a
theory and there is no relevance or exact physical proof of The Matrix that is currently
happening in real life. I do not believe that we as human beings are being controlled and guided
by machines. In my opinion we are our own human self, and that we are walking, talking and
breathing with only the help of ourselves, and our bodies. The Allegory of the Cave is an
extended allegory where humans are portrayed as being imprisoned by their bodies and what
they perceive by sight only. I do not believe that I am trapped, and bounded, and the only visual
aspects I am able to perceive and see are only sight. Sight can be viewed by anyone, and

find ways to work on ways to make my movement quality softer. In ballet this semester gave me

would not make a strong choice if I messed up. As the semester started, I knew I did not want to
be hesitant with performing the combinations in class. There would often be times in class where
I would look down instead of looking up especially at the barre. At the barre I notice how
hesitant I would be doing certain combinations making me worried if I would be able to push
myself to work harder the rest of the class. In class I just wanted to be able to try the best of my
ability to just perform the combinations to not overthink what comes next. I had a tendency looking
down instead of up which honestly does not help improve myself even more.

Cubism In Pablo Picasso s Les Demoiselles DAvignon
Pablo Picasso s painting, Les Demoiselles D avignon uses the elements of color, line, and shape
to make the statement: Of young women in avignon. Picasso spent nine months painting Les
Demoiselles D avignon, this paintings one of his most famous examples of cubism. Picasso
proved to exist as one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century. He also
joined an artist production that he spiritually believed would keep him alive. Picasso spent 80
out of his 91 years of living devoted to this group. While devoted to this group, he painted Les
demoiselles d avignon . The painting consists of five prostitutes that stood on the street corner
named Avignon, the red light district of Barcelona, a street that Picasso would frequently visit. The
females in this painting fill the entire space, and they almost look as if they could be trapped. I
believe that picasso made these women fill the space completely, attempting to symbolize the fact
that the women were trapped in a lifestyle that they did not want to exist in.
Picasso, much like the women of avignon, did not enjoy life during the time of this painting.
Every painting Picasso did encouraged him to make it better than the previous, which I believe he
truly captured all of that inside this painting. Picasso used colors to express the emotions he
experienced during this period of time. He mainly used red, blue, white, and black. Picasso tried to
keep the paint color as accurate to skin tone as he could

The Is The Most Moral System Of Political Organization
In this paper, I will be making the case that a specific form of Anarchism is the most moral system
of political organization. Specifically, I will be arguing for a subset of the Anarchist philosophy
called Anarcho Capitalism . But I will address left wing socialist Anarchism. I will start with some
definitions and then move into the more nuanced aspects of my arguments. In this paper, I intend to
first address the moral issues of statist political systems and then move onto those of the leftist
Anarchists. I will then summarize Murray Rothbards case for Anarcho Capitalism. For this paper, I
will not be discussing the issues of any economic problems created by the existence of a State or
leftist policies, but they most certainly do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So what is wrong with having a State? In short, it simply does not adhere to the same ethical
standards to which we expect the general public to behave. Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr., chairman
and CEO of the Mises Institute, wrote in his article Why I am an Anarcho Capitalist , The state
encourages the public to believe there are two sets of moral rules: one set that we learn as
children, involving the abstention from violence and theft, and another set that applies only to
government, which alone may aggress against peaceful individuals in all kinds of ways. And this
is the crux of any and all States, whether they be more capitalist than Hong Kong or more socialist
than North Korea. They all infringe on the freedom of otherwise peaceful people.
In fact, it is impossible for a State not to be a burden on society and make its constituents worse
off. Think for moment of a king. In any decision he makes, whether it be to install a new bathtub
in the castle or to institute a new public works program, he will be forcing his will upon the
citizens of his domain. And imagine a man, who opposes the king s command. What will happen to
him? First, he will be sternly commanded to obey the authority of the king. But if he refuses to
comply, he will be imprisoned or otherwise subject to punishment. And if the man continues to
refuse to cooperate with the king s orders, despite ever increasing punishments, eventually the king
will have no choice

Cause Of PlasticPollution The following poem illustrates the problem of pollution, focusing on plastic, in the marine environment. The best place to be is next to the sea where tired feet gladly greet, sand so soft and white. The taste of salty air, a cool breeze blowing through untied hair, Warmth all around, from the sun beaming down, against a backdrop of majestic blue. Hear the birds sing, the waves crashing, And know one thing is true. The ocean is drowning in a sea of plastic, Before long marine life will be in a casket. The beauty of the beach will be no more Once plastic covers the shore. Birds are entangled, turtles are endangered, trash litters the ocean floor. A plan of action needs to be taken with all humans participating. Oceans are water, water is life, and right now life is suffocating. Plastics currently represent the vast majority of human made debris present in the oceans (Reisser, Shaw, Wilcox, Hardersty, Proietti, Thums, Pattiaratchi, n.d., p.1). According to Sigler (2014), the magnitude of plastic pollution carried to sea has significantly multiplied over the past several decades (p. 2). Due to this increase in plastic pollution, oceans are becoming increasingly dangerous to marine wildlife, the environment and human health; which is why policies that ban plastic bags and single use, disposable dishes are crucial to the sustainability of Earth s water supply. Besides being unsightly, plastic in the oceans cause major detrimental effects to marine life. Animals can get entangled or even die from ingestion. Globally, at least 23% of marine mammal species, 36% of seabird species, and 86% of sea turtle species are known to be affected by plastic debris (Sigler, 2014, p. 3). Some plastic in the ocean gets broken down into smaller pieces that become increasingly toxic, which then get eaten by fish, and following the food chain end up effecting human health (Reisser et al., n.d., p. 2). Multiple studies have proven that single use, disposable plastic is the most common type of litter found in the oceans. Annually almost 280 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide, the majority of consumer products used today are comprised of some form of plastic (Sigler, 2014, p. 1). Plastic was made to last, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Health Information ExchangeIs The Electronic Movement Of... Health Information Exchange is the electronic movement of healthcare information amongst organizations according to the national standards. HIE as it is widely known, serves the purpose of providing a safe, timely, and efficient way of accessing or retrieving patient clinical data. Health Information Exchange allows for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other vital healthcare professionals to have appropriate access and securely share vital medical information regarding patient care. Health Information Exchange has been in efforts of developing for over 20 years in the United States. In 1990 the Community Health Management Information Systems (CHMIS) program was formed by the Hartford Foundation to foster a development of a centralized data repository in seven different geographically defined communities. Many of the communities struggled in securing a cost effective technology with interoperable data sources and gaining political support. In the mid 1990s a similar initiative began known as the Community Health Information Networks (CHINs) with the intention of sharing data between providers in a more cost effective manner. In 2004, the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research Health Information Technology Portfolio was funded $166 million in grants and contracts to improve the quality and safety to support more patient centered care. This was the beginning of the progress we have seen in HIE today. Health Information Exchange devolvement serves the purpose of improving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By evaluating who is using the VPN, the hardware necessary to make good connections, the pros and cons of differing connection protocols, and evaluating past security problems, setting up the VPN services becomes a much smoother process. VPN s and Firewalls Anyone who will be accessing the VPN services should have a firewall in place.Once a VPN connection is established, the client is essentially able to access information behind the company s firewall, thus creating an access hole. Therefore, insisting a client use and maintain a firewall is another layer in the security of the VPN setup. The ease of changing the firewall rules to allow VPN connections should be addressed. Very old firewalls, either appliance types or software types, may be difficult or impossible to configure to allow VPN access.A small business may stay with an old firewall for many reasons, one of which might be the fact that there has been no reason to upgrade in the past. It would be prudent to check the firewall documentation before becoming enmeshed in the VPN process, only to have it fail for lack of access, or creating a setup that might be considered insecure. Gang Vs GangCase Study J.T operates exactly like a franchise. J.T must pay a 20 percent due towards the board of directors of the gang. Throughout the story, Gilman holds us attentive and sympathetic due to the specific positioning of the narrator; the narrator confides in us and us alone. The whole story is told as journal entries and personal thoughts. In reading the journal entries we fell privileged and intimate. Yet it is the personal thoughts that actually hold us captive in the realm of lunacy, a literal invitation into an insane mind in which we have no other option rather than actually seeing the twisted world that she sees, through her own eyes. We meet after lunch so they are usually tired and ready to go home. After, we did that I asked them to look over their push/pull charts from the previous day. I told them to reflect on the lesson (interactive PowerPoint) from yesterday and to think about their opinions they developed. I gave them one to two minutes to reflect and turn and talk to their neighbor. As they talked I went around to listen in on the pairs to make sure their conversations were on task. After the two minutes were up I asked each pair to raise their hand if they were finished discussing their opinions. I allowed several pairs to share their opinions. Taa 18-22 CaseStudy The Army has already established the need for maintaining an operational reserve, through former and current TAAs, capable of breaching AC capability gaps to meet joint force requirements. However, the analysis lacks resources to accomplish this guidance effectively. The demand for RC forces requires generating more operational unit readiness to fully complement the rotational force pool to meet the deployment demand at the same standard as the AC. After conducting a Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF P) analysis, both overarching recommendations address an identified capability requirement and associated capability gap that could be mitigated with a non materiel solution with changes or existing capabilities in five, organization, training, personnel, facilities, and policy, of the eight functions. Recommendation: Maintain current RC force structure capacity and capabilities highlighted in TAA 18 22 in order to preserve the capacity of an operational reserve to meet Army s joint capability requirements. In spite of recent force turbulence, the current force sizing and rebalance initiatives should stabilize RC formations to preserve the Army s strategic depth while providing enough balance to complement operational capabilities across all components. The current force mix and structure appears to meet current joint demands and the RC cannot afford to reduce the already lean force if they are to keep up with the operational demand. The Rocky HorrorPicture Show The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the most popular movies of all times. It s reach spreads across generations and countries. At first glance Rocky Horror, as it is commonly referred to, can seem like a crude movie that s sole purpose is to shock the audience with it s foul language and sexual content. This is not the case; Rocky Horror brings attention to the genderroles placed on women and men in society. This message is still important today because more than ever women and men feel limited in their own bodies. The opening credits identify to us who fits into what categories. Whilst listen to Richard O Brien singing the infamous opening song the cast list appears on the screen with the actors name, the character they play and a gender role they fit into. Dr. Frank n Furter is a scientist, Brad is a hero, and Magenta is a domestic. Right off the bat we get a sense of how the characters are going to act in the movie with these titles. The scientist should be smart, feeble and nerdy, the hero will be strong and not afraid of anything and of course the domestic will be complacent and compliant. These roles are challenged in the movie. Frank n Furter is in charge, or at least thinks he is, of everything going on in the house. He is a strong male who is anything but feeble. Brad turns out to be the one who is the most afraid and unaccepting of what is going on in the house. Whenever Janet participated in the singing or with what the aliens were doing he would get ... Informative Speech OnHenry Ford I am here to tell you about Henry Ford and how he made the Ford Motor Company famous. Henry Ford was born on July thirtieth, eighteen sixty three at his dad s farm in Wayne County Michigan. Henry s parents were William Ford and Mary Ford. William was an Irish businessman and Mary died while giving birth to her last child. Henry had four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. His sisters were Margaret Ford and Jane Ford. His brothers were William Ford Jr. and Robert Ford. Henry attended local private schools as a young boy and also attended a private grammar school. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the first automobiles and probable one of the most successful was the Model T. This automobile was reliable but since it was one of Henry s first it was a little high in price. In nineteen o nine Henry started to mass produce the Model T and it was a big hit. The original cost of the Model T when Henry first started producing them was eight hundred and fifty dollars. This may sound very cheap today but this was very expensive in the early nineteen hundreds. With this cost Henry was not impressed and only met half of his goal. Henry tried to meet his goal by creating a chain of conveyer belts to move parts through the factory faster, more efficiently, and at a steady pace. Henry also had a new idea he wanted to try with having only one person perform a single and small task. With Henry having one person per task he was going to need hundreds of people to work, but Henry had no trouble with that because he was paying five dollars a day to the people who worked in his factory. By making these simple adjustments to the way Henry produced the automobiles, it cut the time that it took to assemble them tremendously. The time to assemble a new Model T went from a long twelve and a half hours in nineteen twelve to a very short one hour and a half in nineteen fourteen. This was amazing for Henry but this only brought the price down a little bit, this meant not everyone or most people could afford it. Henry decided to try to get the cost lower and he soon succeeded by making his own glass and steel. This brought the cost down but also made sure the product where tough and were exactly what Henry needed for his automobiles. By making his own materials it brought the price down to five hundred and fifty dollars in nineteen thirteen. Henry still thought the price needed to be lower so everyone could afford to have a Model T. By nineteen fifteen the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Inequality OfIncome Distribution In an economic sense, income distribution refers to how wages and salaries are split among a society of people. The top earners in a society are naturally considered to be the richest, whereas the lowest earners are the poorest. In any society, such differentiation in earnings commonly creates class systems based on yearly income. This structure is often measured by labeling people as lower class, middle class, or upper class depending on yearly earnings even though there can be a large difference in the top and bottom incomes of a class. Concerns about the inequality of the distribution of income in any society are often brought about when individuals believe that one income class is earning too large or too little of a percentage of the total income. In the United States however, certain policies and programs are in place to combat criticism against the fairness of income distribution. In addition to these policies and programs, the United States was founded on the belief that any individual, regardless of social classor birth status, should be as successful or unsuccessful as they wish depending on their ability to capitalize on opportunities presented to them throughout their life. Commonly known as The American Dream, this notion towards freely being able to create one s own wealth and worth can be seen throughout the history of the United States and is a major factor that guided America to become one of the world s economic super powers. An independent and atypical woman, EugГ©nie defies her father, leaves home, and disguises herself as a man. He understood me perfectly and offered to get a man s passport for me. I received this one two days later; I wrote in the words, traveling with his sister myself . Whether or not this fear was legitimate, it shows how both society and individuals viewed women as weaker and lesser. Because EugГ©nie left her stereotypical role, she faced challenges that she overcame only because she cut her hair off and dressed like a man. Therefore, her defiance of classic responsibilities shows that women are viewed as problematic, lesser, and pathetic compared to males. Lastly, Madame Danglars also represents the consequences of breaking the mold. She dishonors her husband by having an affair, and is thus the mother of Benedetto, the illegitimate son whom she thinks has died. We both agree, once we are done here, we do not want to see another falmer or another chaurus for a long time. Imagine my relief when we found the final shrine and filled the ewer. We headed towards the inner sanctum, where we should find out what has gone wrong with Gelebor s brother and why he is no longer responding. Then Meme meets a boy, causing Fernanda to be too overprotective and asked a mayor to put a guard at her house, lying that her hens were being stolen. Then when Mauricio Babilonia came to see Meme, a bullet lodged in his spinal column reduced him to his bed for the rest of his life. He sided of old age in solitude (Marquez 285). When Amaranta tells Fernanda she was startled by the obvious burden of hate in her, this shows how much having Meme changed her. She went from a leader to a hateful mother and knowing Amaranta is a soulless, hateful person herself, it is obvious she can detect it in Fernanda. Also, it s obvious how Fernanda has changed because when she found out about Meme and Mauricio, she was furious. Research Paper OnAmazon Rainforest Calvin Al Ashkar Mrs. Beary Envormental Sciences 11/10/17 The Amazon Rainforest Covering more than forty percent of South America is the Amazon Rainforest. It s known for being the largest rainforest on the planet. Most of the jungle lies in Brazil. The Amazon Rainforest also holds the Amazon River. According to the National Science Foundation, the amazon river is the longest river in the world by volume and contains twenty percent of the Earths freshwater. But the Nile River is the longest when calculating width. Being as big a it is, the amazon holds a massive number of dfferent types of species of wildlife with different kinds of sub ecosystems to provide for them. When I think of the Amazon I first think of the terrestrial ecosystems. These are the land based eviroments. I m going to take the first part of this project to talk about the terrestrial ecosystem in the amazon and all the wildlife that it holds. According to WorldAtlas there are 427 types of mammals, 1,300 types of birds, 378 types of reptiles, more than 400 kinds of amphibians, over 80,000 types of plants and trees, and estimation of over 2 million differnt types of insects. Unfortunatley I cannot go over ever single one of these unique species so I will talk about the more popular species that benefit the jungle. The rainforest is divided in four layers: forest floor, understory, canopy and emergent. The canopy is the most heavy populated with plant life, with trees towering up to 200 feet ... Children s TumorFoundation Research Paper Children s Tumor Foundation The minute I saw families supporting a friend or family member who had or is battling neurofibromatosis(NF), I had this warm sentiment needing to do the most to give my full support in any given way to the families. The Children s Tumor Foundation is a non profit organization that devotes to finding effective treatments for the millions of people worldwide overall living with neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to develop on nerves all throughout the body. The foundation organized a carnival that joined a wide range of foods, raffle tickets,T shirts sale, celebrity karaoke and so on this happens each year at the CBS studio. As I arrived I met Joyce( leader of the foundation) along with her son who is legally blind and had been in chemotherapy for four years. When I met her she greeted me and had this smile and told me, Thank you for taking your time to volunteer it really means a lot to us . I saw families coming in with T shirts with names on it and I figure they were families that were supporting a friend or family member who was at the time or is battling NF. It felt great just even volunteering and being part of the foundation because I was able to interact with families as they came in . I really build a connection with one of the families I had came across with and opened up to me about their younger son who had just survived NF. It was just one of those moments where all you can do is support them with your presence. This foundation felt more like we were all a family gathering and supporting one another and knowing that they re not alone. I was assigned to do cashier for raffle tickets, but Joyce was nice enough for volunteers to rotate hourly to perform different tasks. None of the tasks that I did were hard in any way. I was able to be cashier for raffle tickets, guide families as they walk to support the NF, and organize all of the gifts that were going to give out on the raffle tickets. It was quite enjoyable. Everyone that volunteer there was very friendly and was very helpful. They even provided us lunch and a fifteen minute break to volunteers. I really liked the way that they cared and were kind to us throughout the time we were present. I really got to gain experience in learning how to do things and gain more knowledge in what the purpose of the foundation was for. I think the best experience I had was meet celebrities that came along and support families. They had celebrity karaoke for children and family to participate and sing along. Material Processing AndIts Effect On The Construction Of... Introduction Usually, the original materials are not suitable for some applications. Therefore, to achieve some goals of material, we need to process the original materials. By the heat treatment, cold works, and chemical processes, material processing can change the properties of the original materials (Materials Processing, n.d.). For example, we do different heat treatments to steels to obtain different hardness types of steels. According to Totten, annealing is the process that we heat the steel to the critical point and turn off the heat. We keep the steel in the furnace until the steel completely cool down to the room temperature (Totten, 1997). The purpose is to make the distribution of the components uniform in the steel. This process can improve the mechanical properties of the steel, such as making steel softer to machining and protecting steel from deforming. Normalizing refers that we leave the heated steel in the air after the steel reached the critical point (Totten, 1997). Similar to annealing, the purpose of normalizing treatment is also making components in the steel uniformly distributed, whereas the distributional performance is not as good as annealing heat treatment. Normalizing treatment can also make the steel softer in order to process. Quenching is that we cool down the steel in a short time after the steel reached the critical point, such as quenching steel in water (Totten, 1997). The reason we do quenching is that it can increase the hardness and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One man who had a personal experience as a Pole being held in Auschwitz is Witold Pilecki. His story is very special, because he volunteered to be sent there. The idea that Pilecki came up with was that he could hopefully begin a resistance movement and bring knowledge back to the Polish army. After noticing Hitler and his enormous army seizing Poles and forcing them to go to the death camp in his own country, he felt that it was his duty to take action. Amazingly, he did escape and make it back home, later to write a book on his journey titled The Auschwitz Volunteer: Beyond Bravery. Some may be under the impression that only European Jews were held in concentration camps, but that is not the case. Just about one year after the first Auschwitz camp was built, a second one was set up, which came to be the memorable spot where millions of prisoners were immediately put to death in the gas chambers or by the firing squad. It is presented in four different time periods, in addition, only the first carbon budget has been completed. The UK is currently in the progress of the second budget, which is 2013 to 2017. Meeting carbon budget is not the same as reducing emissions as the budget refers only to some sources of emissions. The price of carbon has recently been very low and, as a result, the governments have introduced carbon tax in the Finance Act of 2011.The Carbon Floor Price (CFP) is a top up tax, it exists to boost the existing EU price of carbon (Webster, 2013). Only electricity producers can top up tax if the market price falls below a certain level as electricity producers use carbon fuels. The Mormon Religion TheMormon religion first came to light in the early 1800s, in the northeastern United States. The Second Great Awakening provided the perfect religious atmosphere for new religious dogma. Furthermore, this new religion offered fresh perspective and ideals; which helped to further alienate its followers from mainstream gospel. Faced with extreme prejudice from Protestants, it wasn t until the Mormons fled west that their religious prerogative flourished. The hyper emotional state of affairs originating from the Second Great Awakening resulted in religious turbulence which served as the foundation for Mormonism whose continued development and survival directly correlated to westward expansion and the freedoms of the West. Early in the 19th century, The Second Great Awakening, a popular evangelical movement, was raging through upstate New York. Nicknamed the Burned Over District, this region was often swept by the flames of the Holy Spirit thus creating a supercharged atmosphere perfect for up and coming religious zealots (Gopnik 4). Within this tidal wave of religious fervor the stage was set for the introduction of Mormonism in the 1820s by self proclaimed prophet, Joseph Smith. Claiming the angel Moroni paid him a visit and guided him to a set of buried golden plates, Smith purported that God had blessed him with the ability to understand the ancient texts inscribed upon them (Gopnik 2). These agencies ensure the power companies adhere to the rules and regulations set forth in enacted bills as well as employ security best practices to limit the risk of intrusion from cyber attacks (Li et al., 2012). The federal agencies that have the greatest amount of oversite on the power grid are the Department of Homeland Defense (DHS), The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The plan also details procedures for strengthening national preparedness as well as providing timely responses to cyber attacks. The goal of DHS is to ensure the power grid employs static methods in its operations that allow it to quickly respond and recover from a catastrophic event (Kuder et al., 2010). Dangers Of FoodPoisoning Each year there are 76 million cases of food poisoning in the US and most go unreported. It is an allegory, where humans are characterised, and been portrayed as being imprisoned by their bodies and what they perceive is only by sight. In my opinion we are our own human self, and that we are walking, talking and breathing with only the help of ourselves, and our bodies. The Allegory of the Cave is an extended allegory where humans are portrayed as being imprisoned by their bodies and what they perceive by sight only. I do not believe that I am trapped, and bounded, and the only visual aspects I am able to perceive and see are only sight. Sight can be viewed by anyone, and anything, humans and animals. In my opinion the Allegory of the cave is a myth, it is a story told my people who do not have relevance nor importance in today s society and life. However, I do believe that we are heavily influenced by media, and that the media is fooling all of us, with small things such as camera angle, and Photoshop. The media is the machine that guides, and influences us all. Illusions and conspiracy of the media, and newspapers feed us information and we as human beings tend to believe all that is said to ... Reflection Paper OnBallet Ballet has never been my strongest style, but I feel that I have been able to have become more of a well rounded dancer. From the start I have wanted to gain so much with my goals as well as to find ways to work on ways to make my movement quality softer. In ballet this semester gave me an opportunity to focus on all of the goals that I wished to work on. Over the semester I have noticed that I picked up a lot of material more than I thought when I do not overthink the material and not get stressed out. In ballet this semester I noticed that I freaked out in class so much which reflected on my technique and being able to be confident with my movement. At the beginning of this semester I needed to work on trusting myself with movement material. This has been a struggle for me since day one because I would always have some moments where I would not make a strong choice if I messed up. As the semester started, I knew I did not want to be hesitant with performing the combinations in class. There would often be times in class where I would look down instead of looking up especially at the barre. At the barre I notice how hesitant I would be doing certain combinations making me worried if I would be able to push myself to work harder the rest of the class. In class I just wanted to be able to try the best of my ability to just perform the combinations to not overthink what comes next. I had a tendency looking down instead of up which honestly does not help improve myself even more. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cubism In PabloPicasso s Les Demoiselles DAvignon Pablo Picasso s painting, Les Demoiselles D avignon uses the elements of color, line, and shape to make the statement: Of young women in avignon. Picasso spent nine months painting Les Demoiselles D avignon, this paintings one of his most famous examples of cubism. Picasso proved to exist as one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century. He also joined an artist production that he spiritually believed would keep him alive. Picasso spent 80 out of his 91 years of living devoted to this group. While devoted to this group, he painted Les demoiselles d avignon . The painting consists of five prostitutes that stood on the street corner named Avignon, the red light district of Barcelona, a street that Picasso would frequently visit. The females in this painting fill the entire space, and they almost look as if they could be trapped. I believe that picasso made these women fill the space completely, attempting to symbolize the fact that the women were trapped in a lifestyle that they did not want to exist in. Picasso, much like the women of avignon, did not enjoy life during the time of this painting. Every painting Picasso did encouraged him to make it better than the previous, which I believe he truly captured all of that inside this painting. Picasso used colors to express the emotions he experienced during this period of time. He mainly used red, blue, white, and black. Picasso tried to keep the paint color as accurate to skin tone as he could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Is TheMost Moral System Of Political Organization In this paper, I will be making the case that a specific form of Anarchism is the most moral system of political organization. Specifically, I will be arguing for a subset of the Anarchist philosophy called Anarcho Capitalism . But I will address left wing socialist Anarchism. I will start with some definitions and then move into the more nuanced aspects of my arguments. In this paper, I intend to first address the moral issues of statist political systems and then move onto those of the leftist Anarchists. I will then summarize Murray Rothbards case for Anarcho Capitalism. For this paper, I will not be discussing the issues of any economic problems created by the existence of a State or leftist policies, but they most certainly do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So what is wrong with having a State? In short, it simply does not adhere to the same ethical standards to which we expect the general public to behave. Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr., chairman and CEO of the Mises Institute, wrote in his article Why I am an Anarcho Capitalist , The state encourages the public to believe there are two sets of moral rules: one set that we learn as children, involving the abstention from violence and theft, and another set that applies only to government, which alone may aggress against peaceful individuals in all kinds of ways. And this is the crux of any and all States, whether they be more capitalist than Hong Kong or more socialist than North Korea. They all infringe on the freedom of otherwise peaceful people. In fact, it is impossible for a State not to be a burden on society and make its constituents worse off. Think for moment of a king. In any decision he makes, whether it be to install a new bathtub in the castle or to institute a new public works program, he will be forcing his will upon the citizens of his domain. And imagine a man, who opposes the king s command. What will happen to him? First, he will be sternly commanded to obey the authority of the king. But if he refuses to comply, he will be imprisoned or otherwise subject to punishment. And if the man continues to refuse to cooperate with the king s orders, despite ever increasing punishments, eventually the king will have no choice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
