The femoral triangle is located in the upper anterior thigh. It is bounded by the inguinal ligament superiorly, the sartorius muscle laterally, and the adductor longus muscle medially. The femoral artery, nerve, and vein pass through the triangle from lateral to medial, along with lymph nodes. The femoral triangle provides access for coronary and peripheral angioplasty through the femoral artery, and pressure can be applied here to stop bleeding in the leg.
