The femoral triangle is a region in the upper thigh bounded superiorly by the inguinal ligament, laterally by the sartorius muscle, and medially by the adductor longus muscle. It contains the femoral nerve, artery, and vein which pass through the triangle in the femoral sheath. The floor is formed by the iliacus, psoas major, pectineus, and adductor longus muscles and is gutter shaped rather than flat.
