Some students in the author's class had shyness and fear of participating in competitions and stage programs. The author provided counseling to each student and their parents to help improve their self-esteem and explain the difficulties their fears could cause. The author then gave the students opportunities to discuss their problems and participate in activities like drawing, quizzes, and groups to help them overcome their fears and shyness.

Tamara is currently completing her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Canberra, and works as a preschool teacher assistant and in before/after school care. Her goal is to approach each student as an individual and provide encouragement. Taekwondo has been both physically and mentally challenging for her, but it has also made her a stronger person and teacher.
