4. What is Gratitude?
• Gratitude is the feeling of
being thankful or wanting to
give thanks, appreciate, be
kind to someone.
• Teaching the students to say
‘thank you’ alone without
understanding the meaning of
it is not enough.
• It is important to instill in them
a sense of gratitude.

5. What is Self-belief?
Self-belief is confidence in one’s
own abilities or judgment.
For students, confidence plays a
key aspect of their school life.
It is a pre-requisite to happiness &
success during & after school life.

6. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
Gratitude - It can help students improve their
interpersonal communication skills.
It will make the students more positive & humble towards
life in general.
Self-belief –It can help students dream big & realize their
dreams.
It will empower children to overcome their fears & do
things they thought were difficult or impossible.
7. HOWTO CONDUCTTHE SESSION
Always start the sessions with an energetic
game or activity. It helps boost the energy levels
& response of the students
Discuss about their relations with friends, family
members, teachers or mentors, etc.
Then explain the meaning of "Thank you" and
"Sorry" to students & why it really matters. Try to
connect it with their daily lives so that they know
when to use it
At the end, remind them that it is not important to
say these words again & again unless they know
when to use them & feel them from the bottom of
their heart

8. HOWTO CONDUCTTHE SESSION
Start with an energizer or a related story that talks
about the topic
During the session, you can talk about the stories
of some exemplary freedom fighters of India
whose self-belief helped them fight the national
struggle. Like Rani Laxmi Bai, Shubhash Chandra
Bose, etc. Ask them to share about their own
stories/instances of self-confidence & bravery.
Make the students understand the importance of
self-belief in their daily life.
At the end, make a few slogans for self-belief with
students & encourage them to say it aloud
everyday at the start & end of school to stay
motivated

students to volunteer. Give
them an imaginary situation
that makes them use
‘Thank you’ & ‘Sorry’
Activity 2: Help them make a
gratitude jar, in which students can
put thank you notes everyday for
things they appreciate – to promote
the value of gratitude
At the end, direct the students
to thank God, their parents,
teachers, etc. for all the small
happiness & beautiful moments
in their lives

Activity: Ask all students to
stand up & form a circle.
Then ask them to swing
their arm as much as they
can & mark the angle/point
where it stops

end, ask them to open
their eyes & rotate their
arm once again &
observe how it will
definitely reach farther
than their previous
attempt.
