This document summarizes the results of a survey given to first and second year interior design students regarding their experiences learning CAD software. The survey asked students about their reasons for choosing the interior design program, challenges they faced in the first year, and their use of post-lecture CAD screencasts provided by the instructor. Most first year students found learning AutoCAD most challenging because it was new to them and mistakes could not be corrected easily. While freehand drawing was least challenging for many as they had experience with it from secondary school. The majority of students continued to sometimes refer back to the CAD screencasts to solve problems or refresh their memory on commands.
