the sustainable development goals
(SDGs). A new project, also from the
university, is "17 objetivos y un mapa”

observatory for the SDGs working
from the scale of the local
territory. Faro friends who want to
engage can contribute their tools,
experiences and knowledge drawn
from practice to help promote and
support the fulfillment of the 2030
Agenda. A toolkit to collect practices

Following the ratification of the Faro
Convention (Law 1/10/2020,
no.133) there is more interest in
Faro and the themes of heritage
care. So now there is an Italian
digital platform to encourage the
exchange of ideas and increase
their social and cultural value. It is a
space for sharing, ideas, creativity,
experiences and connections
between people, heritage
communities, institutions and other
groups operating according to the
principles of the Faro Convention
Non Italian groups are particularly
welcome so that a pan European
perspective is available to the
Italian context. More information

The Rome Charter is an initiative of the United Cities Local Government Network. It is
centred on cultural democracy and the right to freely participate in culture and sets out to
transfer cultural capability to communities using participatory and community art
processes, both within municipal areas and through links between municipalities. Co-
Roma work in Rome is an example of the Rome Charter in practice. Maria Cristina
Pangallozzi explains that its work is an experimental ground for civic collaboration
through the empowerment of inhabitants and capacity building processes to increase
their skills” Its arts and cultural activities enable citizens have a deeper awareness of their
own identity, their own capacities drawing from their mutual cultural roots that helps
generate a sense of belonging, sharing and collaboration. www.2020romecharter.org
Although L’Aquilla 2022 was not successful in the Capital of Culture competition it will
proceed to implement its programme. Valeria Pica invited us to think how to share
practices, ideas and experiences that contribute to the work of the planned Cultural
Observatory. Of particular interest is the link between heritage and contemporary art.
