Ward Cunningham created the first wiki in 1995 as a quick way to collaboratively publish information on the web. Wikis allow any user to easily edit and create pages. Wikipedia is the largest wiki, started in 2001, and now has over 1.2 million articles across 200 languages. Wikis provide a way for distributed teams to collaborate instantly by allowing anyone to edit pages, with version tracking to revert changes, though they require management to prevent spam and vandalism.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Fantastic Two wiki's
1. Wiki’s World
Fantastic Two
Vijaya kumar pathipati (Gl)
Anil Bheema
2. Wiki’s Birth & Background
Ward Cunningham created the first wiki in 1995 To quick
way of publishing information collaboratively on the Web.
The original WikiWikiWeb site (http://c2.com/cgi/wiki)
created by Cunningham still exists and is actively
maintained by users.
Wiki technologies are increasingly being used to support
development work across distributed teams.
3. What is Wiki and Why?
A Wiki or wiki is as pronounced "wicky" or "weekee“
Wiki is a Web site or other hypertext document
collection
Separate style from contents
All documents must be editable by anybody
Must work on all devices / platforms
keep things simple
use a simplified markup system
4. Wiki’s Web Now
The web is increasingly complex
Thousands of lines of W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) specs
Raw use by users ==> coherence problems
Sophisticated Web Technologies simplify organisation, complexify
editing
dynamic content
back ends: database + ASP, template engines...
5. Wiki terminology
a WikiWikiWeb site is a set of webs.
a web is a set (flat directory) of topics.
a topic is a web page
WikiNames: [A-Z]+[a-z]+[A-Z]+[a-z0-9]+.*
are interpreted as links to the page/topic of the same
name
If the page does not yet exist, link is post fixed by
?, going there creates a new page:
Any user can easily create a new page.
6. Wikipedia – The Largest Wiki
Wikipedia is the largest and best-known Wiki – see
<http://www.wikipedia.org/>.
It is a good example of a Wiki in which content is
provided by contributors around the world.
It provides an environment and culture which has
minimised the dangers of misuse.
Details of Wikipedia are given on the Wikimedia Web
8. How Big is Wikipedia Globally
English – 412,000 articles
German – 172,000 articles
Japanese – 87,000 articles
French – 66,000 articles
Swedish –53,000 articles
Over 1.2 million across 200
languages
19 with >10,000. 52 with >1000
9. How popular is Wikipedia?
~400 Million page views monthly
According to Alexa.com, Wikipedia is more popular
than the websites of:
IBM
Paypal
Open Directory Project
Geocities
11. Why Wiki’s?
Anyone can write articles
– Topics not restricted
Technology manageable
– Could be accomplished within one quarter
Instant publishing to a world-wide audience
– 27% of first search results go to Wikipedia
Collaborate with an external community
The wiki software keeps track of every edit made and
it's a simple process to revert back to a previous
version of an article
12. Why Not Wiki’s?
Anyone can edit so this may be too open for some
applications, for example confidential documentation.
However it is possible to regulate user access.
Open to SPAM and Vandalism if not managed
properly.
Using wiki may have same disadvantage of using
computers for long time.
It may cause health related(posture, sight)problems if
not used properly.
13. Conclusion
Wikipedia is a community
Wikis are instantaneous
people located in different parts of the world can
work on the same document
The wiki software keeps track of every edit made
and it's a simple process to revert back to a previous
version of an article
widens access to the power of web publishing to
non-technical users
