Financial Preparation for Retiring Educators in Davao City
Financial Priorities in Preparation for Retirement among Retiring Public School Teachers in Davao
City Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study In an uncertain economy today, fiscal planning has become
progressively significant. George H. Schofield, Ph.D (2013) said that it would take money to be
able to afford a comfortable, no work, more leisure time when retiring. Being financially prepared
is one of the goals of every worker to enjoy the so called golden years with ease and comfort.
According to Annual Retirement Confidence Survey (RCS), Americans trust in their power to
afford a comfortable retirement remains low despite of a brightening economy is because they

Financial Priorities in Preparation for Retirement.
The economic predicts in preceding years, many of the employees will go into retirement without a
sufficient resource. The newest investigation was to design to evaluate the different elements that
will bear on the individual s financial preparedness. Structural equation model techniques were
employed to judge the connection among individual s personality characteristic, their financial
knowledge and financial readiness. As an ordinary person, it is really important to us to preserve
and invest for the hereafter( Hershey et al 2010).
An economist has provided a number of different explanations for why an individual might fail to
lay aside for retirement: Some families may be short and fail to accumulate assets because they do
not know the value of bringing home the bacon for their future.
More or less may be unlucky and experience lower profits or higher expenses than they required
before reaching retirement Others may have high discount rates and hence prefer to take in a high

The Cause Of Sinkholes In The Southern States
Our topic is sinkholes. Sinkholes are holes that are formed in the ground from the underlay of
rocks collapsing. The majority of sinkholes in the U.S. occur in Florida because the state is on
top of carbonate rocks which are weak Sinkholes are pits in the ground that form where water
gathers with no drainage. The water weakens the ground under the surface and any weight on the
affected area will collapse the ground. Sinkholes are mostly likely to happen in southern states of
the United States because of the soft limestone under the southern states. The states don t have
good drainage under them therefore the land under is weak. Some sinkholes don t cause any
damage but a lot of them can swallow up people, buildings, and houses. In Florida,

Social Theories of Karl Marx and Maw Weber
There are many sociological issues in the world today that can relate back to the concept theories
that Karl Marx and Max Weber formed many years ago. Although there are too many for us to go
further in depth on, I chose to primarily focus on Racism and Classism. With the perspectives of
these theorists in mind I can explain how Racism, Classism, in conjunction with Feminism are
among the largest social problems human beings face in the world today.
Both theorists have different theories of the social concept Classism, however they are not that
much different from one another. Karl Marx utilizes the term proletariat to refer to the working
class . Marx views the members of each class as sharing their own distinctive culture. Max Weber...

This allows us to raise our brows to the problems with socialism, and where the government is
failing us. Marx used the concept of class consciousness to refer to a subjective awareness held by
members of a class regarding their common vested interests and need for collective political action
to bring about social change.
According to Marx, class is qualitatively different from gender and race and cannot be considered
just another system of oppression. Globally racism and sexism differs depending on the
situation, but in nature produces the same issues. Racism is a major social problem in more than
just one part of the world. There is not a connection between certain races and how they are
treated in similar countries, there is a drift among racially divided cultures. For example, 1/4
white men who use coke are caught for it while 1/17 black men who use it are caught. The number
of white to black users are the same, however the conviction rate is very different.
Feminism is another social problem troubling human societies all over the world. Feminism is an
issue of Dominance of Men over Women around the world. The feminist theory is a result of the
general movement to empower women worldwide. According to Weber feminism can be defined as

Honor in Henry Iv, Part I В– Falstaff vs. Hotspur
Honor In Henry IV, Part I В– Falstaff vs. Hotspur
According to F. Scott Fitzgerald, The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two
opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. Indeed, very few
people have this quality, the playwright William Shakespearebeing one of them. In many of his
plays, Henry IV, Part One among them, Shakespeare juxtaposes different worldviews, ideologies,
and even environments. His characters usually provide a clear example of a split among them in
one of many perspectives. One of his characters in Henry IV В—FalstaffВ—is first seen as an
endearing, uproariously funny scoundrel and later reveals himself more of a lowlife with his view
of honorВ—he seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He says I like not such grinning honor as Sir Walter hath: give me life, which if I can save, so; if
not, honor comes unlocked for, and there s an end. (V, iii) Thus, honor is, as Falstaff says, nothing
more than a word, for it expresses a concept, which can be conveniently twisted to support whatever
side of any battle that one is on.
Hotspur, on the other hand, is always seen as honorable even though he has caused this whole
war; there is no way, therefore, for anyone to correctly say what brings honor and what dishonors.
The second time the word honor appears in the play, it is on the lips of Hotspur, who is damning
the King and urging his father and Worcester to redeem / [their] banish d honors and [to] restore
[them]selves... (I, iii). The reader can easily see Shakespeare s notion that the concept of honor and
its embodiment seldom come together in the reality of a single personВ—certainly the way that
Hotspur wants his father and uncle to redeem themselves (by dethroning the king) is not very
honorable, yet his honor is from battles won in the king s name. So despite his treasonous
thoughts, his honor from battle remains with him for the rest of his life, as even the prince calls
him valiant. (V, i) Both Hotspur and the King believed in the undegenerate chivalric conception
of honor, which was a lofty one. Under it, trial by battle, and war, became religious affairs. Hotspur
also talks of honor as a symbol for a trophy of victory: he

First-Person Narration In Edgar Allen Poe s The Black Cat
There are different literary elements working together in order to help readers to understand the
text. Each element has its own functions, and it will affect the text specifically. In this essay, I will
focus on the element of narration, narrative voice, and point of view for my critical analysis. Edgar
Allen Poe, Guy de Maupassant, and Dashiell Hammett are the authors that I will discuss. Different
authors used different types of narration in their stories. However, no matter which types of
narration, the narrativetechniques among authors increased the attractiveness of their stories. Edgar
Allen Poe s narration skills helped readers to understand the stories thoroughly. Poe used to apply
first person narration in his stories. Therefore,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story mainly about the narrator killed someone, and finally caught by police because of the
heartbeat sound coming from a dead person. Again, the first person narration helped readers to
understand the more about the narrator. Readers could feel the horrors when the narrator was
proud of his murder. Poe writes, If still you think me mad, you will think so no longer when I
described the wise precautions I took for the concealment of the body (Poe 76). The narrator
thought he did a good job on handling the dead body. From the words from the narrator directly,
readers could know how crazy this person was, and feel horrors from what he did. Therefore, the
story would become more interesting to readers because those horrible feelings were the things that
readers looking for. The first person narration not only helped readers to know more about the
characters, but also made the ending of the story more interesting. After the narrator killed an old
man, the police went to his house to investigate the case. At first, the officers could not find
anything. However, the situation got changed suddenly. Poe says, ... It was a low, dull, quick sound
much such a sound as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton... but the noise steadily increased
(Poe 77). The narrator heard the sound of the heartbeat, and then he went to find out the heart that
he put under the floorboards. Therefore,

Pro Gay Equality
To deny people their human rights, is to challenge their very humanity (Nelson Mandela). As a
result, the start of gay equality was seen when same sex marriage became legal on June 26 2015.
Peaceful protests were popular during 2015 to allow equality for homosexuals. However
homosexuals still face opposition in America as these groups are becoming unemployed due to
sexual discrimination; as well as denied basic accommodations and inadequate health care. Yet other
American s feel that oppression is necessary because people feel uncomfortable and believe
homosexualityis unnatural. However, we as Americans should move on from this form of thinking
because it makes us think backwards instead of forwards. While homosexuals endorse the fight for

The History of Poliomyelitis Essay
Public awareness of and concern for persons with disabilities was virtually non existent until the
poliomyelitis epidemic during the mid twentieth century focused attention on the plight of disabled
Americans. As the epidemiology of the disease evolved, poliomyelitis, polio for short, evolved
from a disease of poor immigrants, living in crowded, filthy conditions to an affliction that struck
across the social strata affecting the middle and upper classes. Pervasive fear of polio and its
consequences coupled with the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt s, public
struggle with the disease and its complications propelled the fight against polio and its associated
disabilities to the national forefront. Through efforts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poliovirus in the nervous system leads to paralytic polio the most devastating form of the disease.
The onset of paralysis can be rapid, but the severity depends on the number of neurons affected.
There is no cure for the disease, and victims may be left with permanent consequences from their
illness. Post polio syndrome may affect polio survivors, even those with benign initial
manifestations, years after recovery from their initial insult. Although rarely life threatening, post
polio syndrome results in weakening of previously affected muscles causing significant interference
with the individual s ability to function independently. Polio in the United States: FDR, public
awareness and development of the vaccine. By the early twentieth century, there were major polio
epidemics in Europe and the United States. People exposed to poliovirus were conferred immunity
even if they were asymptomatic. Improvements in sanitation resulted in reduced fecal
contamination of water and food sources, thereby diminishing exposure to the poliovirus and
decreasing immunity. As the nation challenged itself to improve the living conditions for its
citizens, it unintentionally led to the epidemic spread of polio. The disease once considered an
affliction of the poor who lived in crowded, filthy tenements, now affected all elements of the

Paul s Contribution to Christianity
It seems strange that so little is known biographically about one of the most important figures in
Christian history, but this only serves to add to the mystery and grandeur surrounding the Apostle
Paul of Tarsus. Much, however, is known of the time after his conversion to Christ and what he did
to contribute to Christianityin this period, and it is this that leaves a greater legacy than the simple
facts of his life. The contributions that he made towards the cause of Christ and the spreading and
formation of Christianity are what he is perennially remembered for.
Paul is remembered as a missionary and church planter. He undertook three extensive missionary
journeys, estimated to have taken place in A.D. 44, 49 and 53. He spent much ... Show more content

Paul was not fighting against the Law of Moses he knew the law, and that obeying the
commandments would lead to happiness. But he also knew that Christ had come to fulfil the
law as messiah, and to reconcile the world to himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). He did not interpose
rejection of the law, but was polemical of Jewish Christians excluding Gentiles on grounds such
as circumcision. As he was later to say of the event, There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free,
male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)
This teaching has impacted Christianity in history through the lives of individuals but most
significantly through the Reformation of the 16th Century. Martin Luther was strongly convicted
on this issue, seeing it as the epitome of Paul s teachings. Because Luther stood for this issue
unfalteringly, he was persecuted and excommunicated. He and his followers formed the Protestant
Church, turning away from Catholicism in disgust at their practices of indulgences to gain
salvation, making his mantra, the just shall live by faith. (Hab. 2:4, Rom. 1:17) This was scripture
that Paul had restated in his most famous and complete theological epistle, Romans. This influence
of Paul brought about conflict, but also good and freedom, and a new expression of Christianity.
Today, Catholic and Protestant churches still hold different views

Our nig which is the name given to a free black slave, even though this name was given to a slave

are replicated in the interracial encounters outside slavery. Our Nig was a story of a slave that fit
under this category of not being free when freedom existed. In this passage I will give my

I feel like Lois Leveen seems to make an excuse for the treat of Frado as this was a destined
situation for slaves that were free. She also feels like that Harriet Wilsons account does not hold
much weigh as a slave narrative because it was a subjected and submissive intake to be enslave,
In which I feel is rather ridiculous because this is an account of a little girl that was tormented
and physically beaten to the point that she was incapacitated from her treatment there to support
herself. In conclusion Harriet Wilson s novel to Our Nig; or Sketches from the Life of a Free
Black, in a Two Story White House, North, should be seen as a valid Slave narrative that is a
valid account of a slave that was not free, which suffered more then what we can imagine because
of a family that wanted someone to do work for them and to improve their class status. We can
point out in this novel that there was people who cared about Frado and wanted to remove her from
her situation but how do we know that she would have been in a different if not the same situation

Essay on Neanderthals
The first Neanderthal remains, discovered in Germany in 1856, were presented to the world of
science at a meeting of the Lower Rhine Medical and Natural History Society held in Bonn in
February 1857 and named a species, Homo neanderthalensis, by William King in 1864. Some
Neanderthal fossils and other remains are in excellent condition, giving a good ideaof Neanderthal
culture. In 1887, two complete skeletons were found in a cave near Spy in Belgium, and more from
sites in France in 1887, 1908 and 1911. These and other finds showed that the Neanderthals had
populated Europe widely from about 130,000 to 28,000 years ago after which they became extinct.

Perhaps, where they coexisted, some difference prevented interbreeding or the production of
hybrids between these populations and early human ancestors. Usually such differences between
related species originate as adaptations to the environment, not as devices for reproductive isolation.
Neanderthals were hunter gatherers who moved across Europe with the advance and retreat of
the Ice Age glaciers. Their total population probably never exceeded 100,000. From 180,000 to
130,000years ago large glaciers covered much of Europe and Neanderthal remains are scarce. After
130,000years ago, tool technology developed rapidly to become the classic Neanderthal technology
called the
Mousterian tradition. They created sets of tools with great variety and finely trimmed cutting edges.
Flint stone properly chipped forms a cutting edge sharper than a steel scalpel.
Neanderthals were adapted to the cold northern climate, with short limbs and stocky bodies and
flourished during a warmer interglacial period. There was great anatomical variation within this
population. There is evidence that they took care of injured associates and sometimes carried out
burials. Fossil remains provide evidence that they moved in small groups possibly occupying areas
seasonally and subsisting by hunting big game such as reindeer. As they did not use bows and
arrows, or other projectiles, hunting such big game would have required a group strategy. Animal

Essay Pope Pius XII s Neutrality
Is it possible for a Pope to be infallible? When one looks at events, such as the Holocaust, the
answer of this question becomes twofold. Were Pope Pius XII s actions an attempt to save the
Catholic Church from persecutions or a lack of understanding of Hitler s ethnic cleansing? Nearly
six million Jews were slaughtered during the Holocaust. When the world became aware of the
mass murders that were taking place in Europe, World War II became a moral obligation rather
than a fight for power. The Allied powers invaded Germany to save Jews and force the Nazis out

Birds In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst
The Scarlet Ibis is written by James Hurst is a short story that takes place on a cotton farm in the
south during World War 1. A boy named Doodle dreams about flying because he is not very
mobile. The author uses different types of birds to compare Doodle too. James Hurst used
flying as a metaphor for Doodle throughout the whole story. Since Doodle couldn t mobilize like
the other boys, he dreamed about flying. Brother said, Although Doodle learned to crawl, he
showed no signs of walking, but he wasn t idle(3). Doodle started to walk when he was 5 years
old, but before that, his older brother had to pull him around in a gocart his father had made. His
brother taught him how to walk out of embarrassment. They were talking about lies and dreams
when brother mentioned, People in his stories all had wings and flew wherever they wanted to
go(6). Doodle had a huge imagination when it came to flying. In the story, he dreamed about a boy
named Peter and his peacock friend.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James Hurst portrayed Doodle with birds. The two brothers were in Old Woman Swamp when
Brother said, Promise hung about us like the leaves, and wherever we looked, ferns unfurled and
birds broke into song(7). This quote can relate to Doodle because he was a joyful boy and dreamed
big just like the quote said birds broke into song. Before Doodle could walk he wasn t making his
brother proud and once he did walk, he knew his brother was proud of him. There were moments
in the story where Doodle could have been seen as a normal child but instead it was as if he was a
bird. Brother dared Doodle to touch his own coffin in an old barn when all of a sudden, A
screech owl flapped out of the box into our faces, scaring us and covering us with Paris green(4).
After this happens Doodle cries, Don t leave me, don t leave me(4). This shows he can be
frightened easily just like the screech owl and Brother had realized his

Analysis Of Bass Concerns About Charlie s Life
As the weeks went by, Bass concerns about Charlie s motives slowly diminished. She continued to
stay close to him and the children and Connor was never mentioned again.
In fact, after those first few disorienting days, Charlie had never mentioned her dream world again
even though she still didn t feel as though she belonged here. Granted, she was no longer able to
imagine not being a mother, showering Sunny and Ethan with all the attention and love she felt that
she had never received, nor could she imagine not being married to Bass, but she could just never
shake the feeling that there was something not quite right.

After the first few times of him offering to listen and Charlie remaining silent, she finally began to
open up to him in stuttering bursts, describing to him horrible things that would surely drive
anyone mad, until he couldn t bear to listen any longer. That was when he would attempt to kiss
away the pain, letting her take control as she took comfort from his body.
Tonight was no different as she crawled on top of him, kissing him fiercely as she slid her already
swollen pussy slowly down his cock, seating herself with a co mingled groan from them both.
Trailing her fingers down the flat planes of his abs, She began to slowly move, pitching herself
forward, her lips hovering just above his. Has it always been like this? she asked rolling her hips,
making him groan.
Bass threaded his hands through her hair as he licked her lips. Always, he answered, rolling them
over. Pulling a leg up over his hip, Bass thrust up inside her, causing Charlie to cry out as she
arched her back, offering up her breasts to his mouth. Bass swirled his tongue around her pink,
pebbled nipples before tugging gently at them with his teeth. Shifting, he settled more squarely
between her thighs, grabbing hold of her knees pushing them

Why Is John Wayne A Good Role Model
John Wayne
One of the most famous western movie stars in the mid 1900 s, John Wayne did not let his small
beginnings stop him from reaching his goals. He worked long and hard to reach his place in
history as the western star he was, and still is today. John Wayne s hard work, determination, and
the ability to achieve his goals, made him a great actor, person, and role model.
John Wayne s original name was Marion Robert Morrison, who was born on May 26, 1907, in
Winterset, Iowa. His parents were Mary Alberta Brown and Clyde Leonard Morrison. John had one
brother, Robert Morrison. His father, Clyde, developed a lung condition that required him to move
his family to the warmer climates of California when John was just seven. Clyde started ranching
and farming in the Mojave Desert, but did not succeed. The family moved again, to Glendale,
California where his father opened a pharmacy, in which John helped manage in the summer. He
also did many strange jobs to earn money, such as trucker s helper and delivery boy.
John had a famous nickname, Duke. This nickname came from the family dog, an Airedale, named,
Duke. John and Duke spent so much time together; people started calling
Ussery 2 them, Big and Little Duke. Sadly, in 1926, his parents divorced, John stayed with his
father, Clyde.

Compatable Work Ethic
I myself believe that a six hour workday is more of a compatable work ethic for workers and
employees because it helps to improve the work place, workers become more focused, and it
also helps workers gain energy to start an objective by staying motivated. An you may either
agree or disagree with me, but remeber everyone has their own shared oppinion. For instance, It
will help improve the workplace because, it will gain more money towards your paycheck and
company. I with no doubt have experienced it because my old boss took us on a deep sea fishing
trip and payed for all of the expences for our company trip. It also helps to create a healthy
environment for workers an employees. For example, in the text it states that rethinking... Show

In the text it states that workers must be focused to be effective. but yet again it says workers must
get a break to recharge themselves to increase more high productivity in the company. Finally,
workers gain enough energy and motivation to start and finish an objective. I have witnessed it
with my own eyes by seeing people usually waking up on the wrong side of the bed and just dont
feel the need to work, and thats many men I have work with when in construction. But when
there is a length in the time you work from, many men and woman will have the sense of
encouragment to do what needs to be done, instead people usually working an eight hour shift
would not even have any type of grit in themselves. for example in the text it says, Most people
do their best thinking in late mornings and afternoon. This is partly due to biologic cycles of
energy and motivation. In conclusion, I believe that a six hour workday would be more effective
for workers and employees, but most importantly the company itself. Heres why, it will help
improve the workplace, help workers become more focused in their work, and also help the
workers gain more energy and motivation to start and finish an objective. So rather then the

Principle Of The Hygiene Hypothesis
Evan Gaglione Sept 10, 2017 Hygiene Hypothesis Bio 220 The hygiene hypothesis is an educated
guess that states a lack of early childhood exposure to infectious agents, microorganisms, bacteria,
virus, and parasites increases weakness to allergic infections, according to the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA). In particular, the lack of exposure to these infections is thought to lead to
defects in the growth of immune tolerance. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), the
decreasing occurrence of infections in Western nations and more recently in developing nations is
at the heart of the decreasing incidence of both autoimmune and allergic diseases. The hygiene
hypothesis is at both based upon epidemiological data, particularly migration studies. Display that
test subjects migrating from a low incidence for autoimmune and allergic disease to a high
incidence nation acquire the immune disorders with a high incidence. However, the data started
showing a correlation between high disease frequency and high social financial status, but it doesn t

Essay on journalism
When journalism is chosen as a career, society tends to have a stereotypical image of a group of
photographers chasing celebrities. If not, then an image of an anonymous person writing biased
comments about current affairs, trying to manipulate the truth. However, their real work earns
them every cent they deserve unlike the heartless lawyers who earns millions for defending
criminals. The work of journalism, on the hand, consists of interviewing and attending events in all
conditions in order to gather news and information for public interest. This is followed by further
research into the background information then assessing suitability of reports and articles for

To find a career in journalism, two options are provided but both require a pass in the year 12
HSC with preferably good results in English. The first option would be to study a degree at
university for three years followed by a one year graduate cadetship, which is on the job training by
professional journalists. The other alternative is undertaking a three year cadetship to gain
experience and training under supervision of senior journalists. Although this is more common than
study at university, there is a large competition for cadetships.
One of the reasons for competition of cadetships may be due to the income being the biggest
attraction of journalism. Although most enters the career due to passion or natural talents, there is
no doubt that the income would be an incentive. This is only reasonable as journalism can be seen
as a risky job, especially during the research of information. If there was any danger, income would
be the main compensation. As common sense, money is essential for survival and the average
income of journalism is adequate. According to the Bureau of Statistics a rational amount of
journalists may earn the same or more income than doctors and lawyers under different
circumstances. Even though the income for journalist is appealing,

Siege Of Tobruk Essay
How the Siege of Tobruk Influenced and Shaped the Outcome of World War Two Now this is not
the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
(Churchill, 1942) After months of incongruity between British and American war planners
regarding the viability of a cross channel invasion in 1940, the Americans accepted the British
strategy and approved the North African Campaign. It included campaigns fought in the Libyan
and Egyptian deserts, where one of the lesser known battles of World War II was fought by a
small yet valiant force of Australians in the North African port city of Tobruk. Not only did Tobruk

Also, in the insightful and detailed words of Mark Owens, if the Axis had managed to seize Tobruk
in 1941, there may have been a crisis where the Axis could ve threatened Britain s positioning in
both Egypt and the Middle East (Owens, 2016). The Germans would ve controlled the waters
around the port, allowing them to supply provisions such as oil, food and weaponry to men on the
offensive. In this regard, the German penetration and Iraqi Rebellion would ve continued to
infiltrate the area, giving them control over the Mediterranean and granting them a foothold in the
war. Therefore, the Allies stake in Tobruk allowed them to gain access to one of the greatest ports
on the Mediterranean, ultimately giving them the upper hand over the Axis. The Siege of Tobruk
helped boost morale, which enabled the initial capture of Tobruk, before ultimately assisting the
Allies in their success. The Germans likened the fighting style of Australians to that of rats, with the
hopes that this propaganda would express supreme confidence, reassuring the Australians of their
defeat. Convictcreations, who entertain an Ally perspective, declare that the Nazis discovered that,
Germans responded to words of optimism and success with great heart ; so they employed a similar
tactic against the Australians, but in a destructive manner (Convictcreations Thieves of The

Hockey Lockout Analysis
Since the start of the twenty first century, there has been two different lockouts in the National
Hockey League. The first to happen was in the 2004 2005 season. The entire season was lost due
to an unsuccessful bargaining agreement. The second one to happen was in the 2012 2013

It is extremely important to take note that the memoir you are about to portray is one of the most
simplistically beautiful and brutal pieces of literature ever written on the Holocaust. It is your job to
continue this brave act of defiance, to retell Wladyslaw Wladek Szpilman s story to a wider, more
modern audience than ever before. As Wolf Biermann explains in the epilogue, this memoir is so
difficult to swallow that the Eastern European audience of 1946 were unable to tolerate such an
authentic and unflinching view of the horror they had lived through, causing the memoir to not be

who by the grace of his fellow man, survived. The film needs to offer the same stark reality that
Szpilman selflessly gives to the reader. This film cannot be another Hollywood feel good film.
No false messages of hope or salvation can be found in the memoir, and therefore, should not be

In short, yes. Customers trust banks to do just that.
In this case, the bank did what it was supposed to do. The court held that a corporate resolution
given to the bank and a signature card gave the officer authority to endorse checks for deposit to the

The fact that she was not specifically designated as an officer in the resolution was irrelevant. Her

Social Anxiety Research Paper
Over the course of my life, I have been subject to social anxiety. Being around others often times
makes me really uncomfortable. This really doesn t necessarily apply in it s fullest extent when I
m conversing with one person directly, but when talking to a group of people I sometimes stammer
and lose focus. This anxiety, though something that may seem trivial, is something that has always
held me back from involving myself in larger activities. Although I have been inhibited by my
anxiety, I have taken steps to, or at the very least attempt to, involve myself with more things in
order to remedy my situation. There have been times where I will have to do some trivial thing in

The Military Force of Thailand
As far as we are concerned, unlike other Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia and others,
Thailand military forces portrayed a significant concern pertaining to internal turbulence within
Thailand. (Simon, 2000, p. 13) This is because, for several decades, since communist aggression
and until todays, internal security has become the main core focus of Thailandmilitaryforces in the
aspects of defence and security of Thailand (Taylor, 2013, p. 12); compared to other aspects such as
external defence. Before discussing or deliberating the roles of Thailand military forces in internal
security, it is better for us to understand the definition of internal security because it might raise
confusion as it both aspects are associated closely with the national interest of a country. As coined
by the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste National Parliament (2003), internal security is defined
as an activity or program advanced by the State (Government) with the aims to guarantee order,
security and public peacefulness, to safeguards people and goods, to prevent law breaking and
contribute to guarantee the normal functioning of the democratic institutions. Through this clear
definition, it is clear that external security and internal security are different with each other. In
Thailand, the military undertook a crucial role of internal security pertaining to the Burmese
refugees and insurgency in the southernmost of Thailand insurgency by the Malay Muslim
insurgent. (Taylor,

Every winter the Central Valley experiences radiation fog that forms across the area. The Central
Valley in California has ideal conditions for radiation fog to form. The valley is between a
coastal mountain range on the West Coast and on the east side is where the Sierra Nevada

Decision Making Skills For Arms Control And Trade
Decision making skills for arms control and trade cover the scientific discovery, ethical and
philosophical decisions and politics. The scientific discovery (history) of arms trade has been
around since the first crqeation of the cannon, but it has only been in the last century has the
world seen an explosion in arms deals. The best way to categorize the history and politics of arms
trade is during and after the Cold War, which began two years after World War II ended in 1945.
During the Cold War there was no global market for arms trade, countries strictly only dealt with
who they considered their allies. With the fall of nazi Germany it left two main superpowers for
supplying arms, the USA and Russia. The US solely dealt and supplied arms with countries like the
United Kingdom, France, Netherlands and Russia being a communist state at the time dealt with
countries that had an influencing communist party in power like Cuba. Both superpowers however
competed to influence destabilized countries in Africa, and in Latin America.
After the Cold War ended in the late 1980 s early 1990 s the world saw a globalization of arms
trade becoming an open market where the USA and Russia are able to deal with whatever country
is willing to buy. Some of the most sought out weapons after the Cold War were nuclear and
although there are only five countries are allowed to possess nuclear weapons, the US, United
Kingdom, France, Russia and China, they are stored in over a dozen countries.

According to P, God was known to the patriarchs as El Shaddai, God Almighty (Gen 17:1, 35:11,
48:3) and only at Sinai revealed his true name, Yahweh. (JBC) The Ten Plagues occur from a
major battle between Yahweh and the Pharaoh for the service of the Hebrews . Service, in both
Hebr and Eng, means both work and worship. The redactor has skillfully arranged and
augmented old traditions about seven plagues (cf. the seven in Pss 78:43 51; 105:26 36 and the
fact that there are only seven plagues in J) into three triplets, and the climatic tenth plague is
outside the series. (JBC) As the Israelites are initially given consent to leave, the actual route they
took is discussed within the commentary, The best route for the people is not the Way of the
Philistines the most direct, but guided by the fortress at Zilu but rather a route through the
wilderness at the Sea of Reeds, a swampy area around Lake Balah. (JBC) The climactic battle in
which the Egyptian army comes after the Israelites and Moses parted the sea, is conceived by each
source differently. According to P, Moses divided the sea by the rod and Israel walked through
on dry land, the waters being a wall to their right and left. When Israel got to the other side, Moses
raised his hand and the walls of water crashed in on the Egyptian army, wiping them out. According
to J, Yahweh the storm god drove back the sea long enough for Israel to cross in the night and then
the sea returned to its wonted flow in the morning.

In 1959 the Cuban Revolution culminated with Fidel Castro s overthrow of Cuban dictator
Fulgencio Batista. Although wary of Castro s communist philosophy, the U.S. initially accepted
his governance. But unease turned to turmoil: As Castro s regime increased trade with the
Soviet Union, nationalized U.S. owned properties, and hiked taxes on American imports, the
United States responded with escalating economic retaliation, (CFR, 2015). Eisenhower cuts
Cuban sugar imports and bans all U.S. exports with the exception of food and medicine. Soon

Crisis. Kennedy invoked a naval blockade of Cuba after a U.S. spy plane identifies Soviet missile

Soviet Union agreed to remove its missiles from the island in exchange for the U.S. not invading
Cuba and removing missiles from Turkey. Afterwards tensions continued with mass Cuban

The Importance Of Language In Education
It was during the 1800s that a decision was taken which had ended up being the turning point for
the language in education scenario in India and changed the orientation of language priority in
Indian education. The decision was taken to ignore the vernacular medium education and
concentrate entirely on English as the single language for instruction (Paranjpe Prasad,
2010)(Sridhar, 1989). It was made clear that those who had attained educationin English would be
preferred over the vernacular educated class. English had become the language of higher education
and with the establishment of the prestigious universities in the major cities like Bombay, Calcutta,
Madras, Lahore, Allahabad and Punjab, English had achieved its supremacy (Sridhar, 1989)
(Krishnaswamy Krishnaswamy, 2006). From this point onwards education came to be equated with
English education and those who studied in vernacular medium were put permanently in the
background (Sridhar, 1989), a mindset prevalent in the mind of Indians even today. Despite the
changes which were made in the language policies in the 1900s to make space for vernacular
languages in the educational setting did not meet with the expected success (Krishnaswamy
Krishnaswamy, 2006) (Sridhar, 1989). By 1970s and 1980s about one third of the Indiahad its
schools using English as their medium of instruction (Paranjpe Prasad, 2010). Hence the language
in education policy during the colonial era had created two different media of

Apple s Impact On The Computer Industry
Executive Summary Apple has been the leading force in innovation for the past couple of years,
not only does it dominate the mobile phone industry, it has also transformed the computer
industry too. With millions of people using their products today, Apple is one of the most
successful companies in the world. However, Apple did not come all this way from nothing. It
suffered ups and downs just like any other company, with this being said, the way Apple dealt with
its problems was the difference between it and any other company. Apple is strong today because
of the way that it was built by its co founder Steve jobs. With his leadershipskills, the culture he put
into place and the socialization process of the new employees, incorporating them into the
company s beliefs and values, were just building blocks to the bigger picture. Apple is also
successful due to the fact that it has good communication within it that improved after a specific
incident in the past by implementing what is known as a Direct Responsible Individual (DRI). A
mistake at Apple will almost never go unpunished and because of this, Apple employees perform at
110%.
Apple s Elements of Success:
Strong company culture involvement.
Transformational Leadership
Communication between employees and upper management (DRI s)
Critical decision making

Salton Sea Research Paper
From being a resort area filled with numerous yachts, the Salton Sea has become an abandoned
destination since the late 20th century. The Salton Sea was created by accident; with an
exponential increase in precipitation, water diverted from the Colorado River to Imperial Valley
creating the Salton Sea. Through its early years, the Salton Sea was a tourist attraction. It was an
inland sea, allowing the public to ride boats and fish. Soon after, the Imperial Valley needed a
drainage lake, and the federal government permitted the Salton Sea to be utilized for this specific
purpose. Salton Sea became a lake where residues from fertilizers as well as pesticides such as
DDT fertilizers and hazardous chemicals were dumped into without any regulation.

The Atkins V. Murrey Atkins Library
Libraries customarily serve as providers of vast arrays of knowledge, provoking introspection and
musing enabling the creation of original notions serving as a haven for independent thought, but
also as an area to exchange knowledge. In the case of the J. Murrey Atkins Library explicitly the
ground floor the underlying message provided by the facilitators is considerably complex. The
Atkins Library, is committed to being academically resourceful and reliable, striving to preserve a
tranquil and safe environment for students; ensuring comfort, socialization, and multitasking in a
diverse setting. This message is insinuated in posters and signs exhibited throughout the ground
floor, the technologically advanced appliances, the wide variety of seating arrangements, and the
alarm systems, scattered across the ceiling.
The Atkins Library gives the impression of being intellectually rewarding, as perceived on the
ground floor; however, whether students take advantage of this situation depends solely on the
individual. There are various ways in which this message is conveyed, namely in the form of
posters. There are two posters one of which can be found at the immediate north entrance of the
library and the other in the general vicinity of Peete s Coffee; informing students of Upcoming
Workshops. Librarians regularly hold these workshops to aid scholars in researching topics,
whether it be for a social science course or social work. These seminars are not required, but are

Endgame Play Comparison
Imagining is better than seeing. Within this essay, I aim to discuss Endgame, a play written by
Samuel Beckett. This review differs from the usual play review styles as is it is based on the
written form of the play, and not on the actual play s performance live on stage by professional
actors. Plays in their written form, stimulate the readers imagination and allow each to create the
image of the play s set in the way his or her mind allows. The creator s detailed instructions for
each scene, provide a limited range of possibilities of how one can imagine each dialogue, while
still keeping it open to the imagination regarding the emotions one can experience. Beckett has
successfully stimulated my imagination and took me on a journey of various sentiments. The plot
involves around the two main protagonists, Hamm, who is sitting in an armchair, in the... Show

I believe it is Beckett s attempt to break the dullness and create glimpses of minor parts of
happiness, not just for the actors, but for the audience as well. His humor, however, is dark. The
audience is intrigued to laugh at points where sympathy and compassion should be the appropriate
responses. Such moments are more pronounced between Nagg and Nell. Them being in the trash
bin and trying to cheer each other through pathetic memories of the past does show the heart
rending situation the two of them are experiencing, where one is expected to feel compassionate
towards them. However, Beckett wishes the audience to laugh or even smile for their situation, but
certain individuals can easily misunderstand his intentions. It is important to note, however, that
Nagg and Nell are found to be more emotional compared to Hamm, and express their love for each
other through their actions and words. Beckett successfully presents love in a hopeless scenery, in

Angela s Ashes-Historical Essay
Is life writing really an accurate representation of past events? Hello everyone and welcome to
the 2017 literary convention, I am your keynote speaker Angus Topp and today I will be
discussing why life writing is a very inaccurate way of representing past events. Angela s Ashes
by Frank McCourt is an autobiography of McCourt s life from when he was born to the age of 19,
at this timethey were in great deprivation. McCourt s depiction of Limerick and it s locals are
shown as a squalid town with wrongly accusing one local of watching over him. McCourts
memory would also not be able to remember many delicate details such as conversations and exact
memories as the year difference was to significant. To add to all the misery Frank McCourt had...

This is evident by Paddy Malone, who was featured on the books original covers is McCourt s
most furious detractors but also grew up in the lanes of Limerick. According to Malone, the
McCourt s family lived in a home with green lawn and they were never extremely poor. As
described in the book, Limerick during the 1930 s to 1940 s was described in all its grittiness.
The family lived in a run down, neglected house with unpaved lane of houses that flood regularly.
The McCourt s family is forced to live like this due to the father s alcoholism. The father would
always spend the welfare payments before Angela could get her hands on it to feed their starving
children. However Malone s opinion counteracts the book s description of the family and the home
they lived in. Evidence *Insert Quote*
Without anyone to contest a story it would be 100% believable however when Malone s side of
the story is told McCourt is left with quite a few holes in his plot. This further pushes the idea of
how inaccurate life writing really is. Paragraph 3:
McCourt tends to position the view of the catholic church in a negative way as he is referring back
to the church for answers on what is wrong and right and to confess on many

The Story Of The Donner Party Summary
Stewart, George R. Ordeal by Hunger: The Story of the Donner Party. Boston: Houghton Mifflin,
1960In the late summer of 1846 a group of pioneers started off on journey to California, later this
party would be known as the Donner Party, little did they know that this journey for a new life out
west would change life as they knew it forever. The book Ordeal by Hunger: The Story of the
Donner Partyby George R. Stewart gives an outsiders look to the trails and tribulations of the
Donner Parties journey. George Stewart was a novelist and professor who taught more than fifty
years at the University of California. George makes it very clear from the preface that he believes
that the story of the Donner Party is one of the most amazing stories that came out of the American
West and wanted to write this book to show the extreme conditions a human being can go through
and the extremes they ll take to get through it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which is very helpful to the reader because George does a great job at not only describing what
type of status quo each family is but also gives an insight to a bit of each characters personality.
In the book there are characters that seemed to fade into the background at the beginning but the
way George incorporates them tells the story of the Donner Party it can kind of shock you of
what role a person played in the survival of the group compared to the beginning of the book.
The fact this book is written as a nonfictional can come to quite a surprise to some readers. The
way the story is told with twists and turns of suspense and surprise makes it a page turner for any

Kid Nobody Could Handle Essay
In the short story, The Kid Nobody Could Handle, by Kurt Vonnegut, the main character of the
story is George Helmholtz. He lives in a small town with his wife, is the head of the music
department at the local high school and the director of the band. He is the most important person in
the story because he is the only one, not psychiatrists, and foster parents, to make a difference in
Jim s life. Throughout the story, George is determined and hopeful, lonely, and fixated with the
beauty of music.

Additionally, he seems to be the type of person that could spend hours listening to music alone, or
just reading music sheets. Without his wife, he spent the mornings going out for breakfast, and the
evenings waking up in the middle of the night, His wife was visiting relatives out of town. He was
on his own . In addition, he told Bert Quinn, When the cat s away, this mouse gets lonesome .
Not only does he feel alone without his wife around, but also he frequently likes to escape from
the world of teaching. I have got at least one tiny corner of the universe I can make just the way I
want it . The troubles of life make him wonder about things that he has done. Sometimes, I get so
lonely and disgusted, I don t see how I can stand it . Mostly in the story, George likes to be
teaching his students or engaging in conversation with others. However, there is the times when, by
choice or not, he is lonely.
Lastly, the most important thing in George s life is the beauty of music. He has a nightmare in the
middle of the night, about what could have happened to the music room, The monster clawed to
shreds the heads of the biggest drum in the state. Helmholtz woke up howling . He headed to the
school, there he reflected on the beauty of his instruments, As he polished he could hear the great

Visual Media, Allegorical Consciousness, and Postmodern...
Visual Media, Allegorical Consciousness, and Postmodern Culture
I think many of us would agree that we are living in an era of transition: generally, from one phase
of modernity to another; more specifically, it is harder to say. Let s ask ourselves for a moment
how this sense of change might guide the rhetorical study of visual media. Of the many possible
answers to this question, there are two I want to put on the table.
The first consideration is that the study of visual media is likely to be occurring at all, or in a
particular form, because our society now is moving beyond those media to other communication
technologies. Here I am applying an observation from the history of communication: We know that
the study of the forms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not surprisingly, the study of meaning quickly became articulated through terms such as symbol
that could work in both verbal and visual media, while subsequently verbal and visual terms have
become interchangeable as we referr to all manner of practices as discourses and read a limitless
range of artifacts, or at least gesture in that direction.
And now we find ourselves amidst the study of visual media, visual cultures, visual literacy, etc.
which is more, by the way, than previous investigations of the individual visual arts, which
always arise soon after their moment of origin. I can t help but wonder if, once again, the study
of communication is caught in a slightly retrograde enterprise. Are we focusing on the visual
because we are already under the influence of a successor technology? If so, isn t it likely that
our account of visual rhetorics is itself already bearing the stamp of a post visual mode of
perception or cognitive style, or that if it is not, it won t last once such an account emerges? One
more time: could it be the successful account of visual media is likely to be the one that also works
with its successor medium? If so, then we need only specify that successor. To suggest how this
logic might play out, if the successor medium is interactive computing generally and the internet
/web practices currently, then our account of visual rhetorics will be likely to feature interaction

George H. Schofield, Ph.D (2013) said that it would take money to be able to afford a comfortable, no work, more leisure time when retiring. Being financially prepared is one of the goals of every worker to enjoy the so called golden years with ease and comfort. According to Annual Retirement Confidence Survey (RCS), Americans trust in their power to afford a comfortable retirement remains low despite of a brightening economy is because they alone work for what they need and do not ... • 4. Social Theories of Karl Marx and Maw Weber There are many sociological issues in the world today that can relate back to the concept theories that Karl Marx and Max Weber formed many years ago. Although there are too many for us to go further in depth on, I chose to primarily focus on Racism and Classism. With the perspectives of these theorists in mind I can explain how Racism, Classism, in conjunction with Feminism are among the largest social problems human beings face in the world today. Both theorists have different theories of the social concept Classism, however they are not that much different from one another. Karl Marx utilizes the term proletariat to refer to the working class . Marx views the members of each class as sharing their own distinctive culture. Max Weber... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This allows us to raise our brows to the problems with socialism, and where the government is failing us. Marx used the concept of class consciousness to refer to a subjective awareness held by members of a class regarding their common vested interests and need for collective political action to bring about social change. According to Marx, class is qualitatively different from gender and race and cannot be considered just another system of oppression. Globally racism and sexism differs depending on the situation, but in nature produces the same issues. Racism is a major social problem in more than just one part of the world. There is not a connection between certain races and how they are treated in similar countries, there is a drift among racially divided cultures. For example, 1/4 white men who use coke are caught for it while 1/17 black men who use it are caught. The number of white to black users are the same, however the conviction rate is very different. Feminism is another social problem troubling human societies all over the world. Feminism is an issue of Dominance of Men over Women around the world. The feminist theory is a result of the general movement to empower women worldwide. According to Weber feminism can be defined as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Honor in Henry Iv, Part I В– Falstaff vs. Hotspur Honor In Henry IV, Part I В– Falstaff vs. Hotspur According to F. Scott Fitzgerald, The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. Indeed, very few people have this quality, the playwright William Shakespearebeing one of them. In many of his plays, Henry IV, Part One among them, Shakespeare juxtaposes different worldviews, ideologies, and even environments. His characters usually provide a clear example of a split among them in one of many perspectives. One of his characters in Henry IV В—FalstaffВ—is first seen as an endearing, uproariously funny scoundrel and later reveals himself more of a lowlife with his view of honorВ—he seems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He says I like not such grinning honor as Sir Walter hath: give me life, which if I can save, so; if not, honor comes unlocked for, and there s an end. (V, iii) Thus, honor is, as Falstaff says, nothing more than a word, for it expresses a concept, which can be conveniently twisted to support whatever side of any battle that one is on. Hotspur, on the other hand, is always seen as honorable even though he has caused this whole war; there is no way, therefore, for anyone to correctly say what brings honor and what dishonors. The second time the word honor appears in the play, it is on the lips of Hotspur, who is damning the King and urging his father and Worcester to redeem / [their] banish d honors and [to] restore [them]selves... (I, iii). The reader can easily see Shakespeare s notion that the concept of honor and its embodiment seldom come together in the reality of a single personВ—certainly the way that Hotspur wants his father and uncle to redeem themselves (by dethroning the king) is not very honorable, yet his honor is from battles won in the king s name. So despite his treasonous thoughts, his honor from battle remains with him for the rest of his life, as even the prince calls him valiant. (V, i) Both Hotspur and the King believed in the undegenerate chivalric conception of honor, which was a lofty one. Under it, trial by battle, and war, became religious affairs. Hotspur also talks of honor as a symbol for a trophy of victory: he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each element has its own functions, and it will affect the text specifically. In this essay, I will focus on the element of narration, narrative voice, and point of view for my critical analysis. Edgar Allen Poe, Guy de Maupassant, and Dashiell Hammett are the authors that I will discuss. Different authors used different types of narration in their stories. As a result, the start of gay equality was seen when same sex marriage became legal on June 26 2015. Peaceful protests were popular during 2015 to allow equality for homosexuals. However homosexuals still face opposition in America as these groups are becoming unemployed due to sexual discrimination; as well as denied basic accommodations and inadequate health care. Yet other American s feel that oppression is necessary because people feel uncomfortable and believe homosexualityis unnatural. Improvements in sanitation resulted in reduced fecal contamination of water and food sources, thereby diminishing exposure to the poliovirus and decreasing immunity. As the nation challenged itself to improve the living conditions for its citizens, it unintentionally led to the epidemic spread of polio. • 11. Paul s Contribution to Christianity It seems strange that so little is known biographically about one of the most important figures in Christian history, but this only serves to add to the mystery and grandeur surrounding the Apostle Paul of Tarsus. Much, however, is known of the time after his conversion to Christ and what he did to contribute to Christianityin this period, and it is this that leaves a greater legacy than the simple facts of his life. The contributions that he made towards the cause of Christ and the spreading and formation of Christianity are what he is perennially remembered for. Paul is remembered as a missionary and church planter. He undertook three extensive missionary journeys, estimated to have taken place in A.D. 44, 49 and 53. He spent much ... But he also knew that Christ had come to fulfil the law as messiah, and to reconcile the world to himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). He did not interpose rejection of the law, but was polemical of Jewish Christians excluding Gentiles on grounds such as circumcision. As he was later to say of the event, There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28) This teaching has impacted Christianity in history through the lives of individuals but most significantly through the Reformation of the 16th Century. Martin Luther was strongly convicted on this issue, seeing it as the epitome of Paul s teachings. Because Luther stood for this issue unfalteringly, he was persecuted and excommunicated. He and his followers formed the Protestant Church, turning away from Catholicism in disgust at their practices of indulgences to gain salvation, making his mantra, the just shall live by faith. (Hab. 2:4, Rom. 1:17) This was scripture that Paul had restated in his most famous and complete theological epistle, Romans. This influence of Paul brought about conflict, but also good and freedom, and a new expression of Christianity. Today, Catholic and Protestant churches still hold different views ... Our nig which is the name given to a free black slave, even though this name was given to a slave that was free did not mean you were free. This story exposes how the racial dynamics of slavery are replicated in the interracial encounters outside slavery. Our Nig was a story of a slave that fit under this category of not being free when freedom existed. In this passage I will give my critical analysis of my interpretation of Our Nig Frado who was abandoned by her mother and left at the hands of the Belmont family were she was taken as an indentured servant, while being in this house Frado experienced physical and verbal abuse while being in this household. In conclusion Harriet Wilson s novel to Our Nig; or Sketches from the Life of a Free Black, in a Two Story White House, North, should be seen as a valid Slave narrative that is a valid account of a slave that was not free, which suffered more then what we can imagine because of a family that wanted someone to do work for them and to improve their class status. Essay on Neanderthals The first Neanderthal remains, discovered in Germany in 1856, were presented to the world of science at a meeting of the Lower Rhine Medical and Natural History Society held in Bonn in February 1857 and named a species, Homo neanderthalensis, by William King in 1864. Some Neanderthal fossils and other remains are in excellent condition, giving a good ideaof Neanderthal culture. In 1887, two complete skeletons were found in a cave near Spy in Belgium, and more from sites in France in 1887, 1908 and 1911. Perhaps, where they coexisted, some difference prevented interbreeding or the production of hybrids between these populations and early human ancestors. Usually such differences between related species originate as adaptations to the environment, not as devices for reproductive isolation. Neanderthals were hunter gatherers who moved across Europe with the advance and retreat of the Ice Age glaciers. Their total population probably never exceeded 100,000. From 180,000 to 130,000years ago large glaciers covered much of Europe and Neanderthal remains are scarce. After 130,000years ago, tool technology developed rapidly to become the classic Neanderthal technology called the Mousterian tradition. They created sets of tools with great variety and finely trimmed cutting edges. Flint stone properly chipped forms a cutting edge sharper than a steel scalpel. Neanderthals were adapted to the cold northern climate, with short limbs and stocky bodies and flourished during a warmer interglacial period. There was great anatomical variation within this population. There is evidence that they took care of injured associates and sometimes carried out burials. Fossil remains provide evidence that they moved in small groups possibly occupying areas seasonally and subsisting by hunting big game such as reindeer. As they did not use bows and arrows, or other projectiles, hunting such big game would have required a group strategy. Animal bones ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nearly six million Jews were slaughtered during the Holocaust. Quotes From The Pianist To: Roman Polanski, Director From: Date:February 28, 2017 Subject:The Pianist Notes and Guidelines It is extremely important to take note that the memoir you are about to portray is one of the most simplistically beautiful and brutal pieces of literature ever written on the Holocaust. It is your job to continue this brave act of defiance, to retell Wladyslaw Wladek Szpilman s story to a wider, more modern audience than ever before. As Wolf Biermann explains in the epilogue, this memoir is so difficult to swallow that the Eastern European audience of 1946 were unable to tolerate such an authentic and unflinching view of the horror they had lived through, causing the memoir to not be published again until fifty years later. It is essential to show Szpilman as not a typical hero, but as a battered and weakened human being who by the grace of his fellow man, survived. The film needs to offer the same stark reality that Szpilman selflessly gives to the reader. This film cannot be another Hollywood feel good film. No false messages of hope or salvation can be found in the memoir, and therefore, should not be found on the screen. It seems that the company does not think it feasible to try to recovery their loses from employee, Lisa Leslie, and therefore goes after the bank for allowing her to steal from them. Is the bank at fault? Does the bank have an obligation to their customers to protect them from fraudulent activity? In short, yes. Customers trust banks to do just that. In this case, the bank did what it was supposed to do. The court held that a corporate resolution given to the bank and a signature card gave the officer authority to endorse checks for deposit to the account, and to draft checks from the account, so the bank was not liable for conversion. These documents were unambiguous. The resolution and signature card clearly let the officer act for the company regarding the account, including withdrawing money and endorsing checks for deposit. The fact that she was not specifically designated as an officer in the resolution was irrelevant. Her acts did not violate the authority the resolution gave her, and whether she violated company policy related to her abuse of authority, not a lack of authority. This really doesn t necessarily apply in it s fullest extent when I m conversing with one person directly, but when talking to a group of people I sometimes stammer and lose focus. This anxiety, though something that may seem trivial, is something that has always held me back from involving myself in larger activities. Although I have been inhibited by my anxiety, I have taken steps to, or at the very least attempt to, involve myself with more things in order to remedy my situation. There have been times where I will have to do some trivial thing in class, such as give a presentation or talk about something, where I get incredibly nervous. The Military Force of Thailand As far as we are concerned, unlike other Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia and others, Thailand military forces portrayed a significant concern pertaining to internal turbulence within Thailand. (Simon, 2000, p. 13) This is because, for several decades, since communist aggression and until todays, internal security has become the main core focus of Thailandmilitaryforces in the aspects of defence and security of Thailand (Taylor, 2013, p. 12); compared to other aspects such as external defence. Before discussing or deliberating the roles of Thailand military forces in internal security, it is better for us to understand the definition of internal security because it might raise confusion as it both aspects are associated closely with the national interest of a country. As coined by the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste National Parliament (2003), internal security is defined as an activity or program advanced by the State (Government) with the aims to guarantee order, security and public peacefulness, to safeguards people and goods, to prevent law breaking and contribute to guarantee the normal functioning of the democratic institutions. Through this clear definition, it is clear that external security and internal security are different with each other. The scientific discovery (history) of arms trade has been around since the first crqeation of the cannon, but it has only been in the last century has the world seen an explosion in arms deals. The best way to categorize the history and politics of arms trade is during and after the Cold War, which began two years after World War II ended in 1945. During the Cold War there was no global market for arms trade, countries strictly only dealt with who they considered their allies. With the fall of nazi Germany it left two main superpowers for supplying arms, the USA and Russia. The US solely dealt and supplied arms with countries like the United Kingdom, France, Netherlands and Russia being a communist state at the time dealt with countries that had an influencing communist party in power like Cuba. The redactor has skillfully arranged and augmented old traditions about seven plagues (cf. the seven in Pss 78:43 51; 105:26 36 and the fact that there are only seven plagues in J) into three triplets, and the climatic tenth plague is outside the series. (JBC) The climactic battle in which the Egyptian army comes after the Israelites and Moses parted the sea, is conceived by each source differently. According to P, Moses divided the sea by the rod and Israel walked through on dry land, the waters being a wall to their right and left. When Israel got to the other side, Moses raised his hand and the walls of water crashed in on the Egyptian army, wiping them out. The Importance Of Language In Education It was during the 1800s that a decision was taken which had ended up being the turning point for the language in education scenario in India and changed the orientation of language priority in Indian education. The decision was taken to ignore the vernacular medium education and concentrate entirely on English as the single language for instruction (Paranjpe Prasad, 2010)(Sridhar, 1989). It was made clear that those who had attained educationin English would be preferred over the vernacular educated class. English had become the language of higher education and with the establishment of the prestigious universities in the major cities like Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, Lahore, Allahabad and Punjab, English had achieved its supremacy (Sridhar, 1989) (Krishnaswamy Krishnaswamy, 2006). From this point onwards education came to be equated with English education and those who studied in vernacular medium were put permanently in the background (Sridhar, 1989), a mindset prevalent in the mind of Indians even today. Despite the changes which were made in the language policies in the 1900s to make space for vernacular languages in the educational setting did not meet with the expected success (Krishnaswamy Krishnaswamy, 2006) (Sridhar, 1989). Which is very helpful to the reader because George does a great job at not only describing what type of status quo each family is but also gives an insight to a bit of each characters personality. In the book there are characters that seemed to fade into the background at the beginning but the way George incorporates them tells the story of the Donner Party it can kind of shock you of what role a person played in the survival of the group compared to the beginning of the book. The fact this book is written as a nonfictional can come to quite a surprise to some readers. • 53. Visual Media, Allegorical Consciousness, and Postmodern... Visual Media, Allegorical Consciousness, and Postmodern Culture I think many of us would agree that we are living in an era of transition: generally, from one phase of modernity to another; more specifically, it is harder to say. Let s ask ourselves for a moment how this sense of change might guide the rhetorical study of visual media. Of the many possible answers to this question, there are two I want to put on the table. The first consideration is that the study of visual media is likely to be occurring at all, or in a particular form, because our society now is moving beyond those media to other communication technologies. Here I am applying an observation from the history of communication: We know that the study of the forms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not surprisingly, the study of meaning quickly became articulated through terms such as symbol that could work in both verbal and visual media, while subsequently verbal and visual terms have become interchangeable as we referr to all manner of practices as discourses and read a limitless range of artifacts, or at least gesture in that direction. And now we find ourselves amidst the study of visual media, visual cultures, visual literacy, etc. which is more, by the way, than previous investigations of the individual visual arts, which always arise soon after their moment of origin. I can t help but wonder if, once again, the study of communication is caught in a slightly retrograde enterprise. Are we focusing on the visual because we are already under the influence of a successor technology? If so, isn t it likely that our account of visual rhetorics is itself already bearing the stamp of a post visual mode of perception or cognitive style, or that if it is not, it won t last once such an account emerges? One more time: could it be the successful account of visual media is likely to be the one that also works with its successor medium? If so, then we need only specify that successor. To suggest how this logic might play out, if the successor medium is interactive computing generally and the internet /web practices currently, then our account of visual rhetorics will be likely to feature interaction ...
