The Kyrgyz Republic adopted an Export Development Plan (EDP) for 2015-2017 with the goal of developing competitive export potential to support sustainable economic growth. The EDP focuses on improving access to trade information, increasing capacity, and facilitating trade. Key activities under the EDP include signing cooperation agreements to exchange trade information, supporting participation in international exhibitions, simplifying customs procedures after joining the Eurasian Economic Union, developing quality infrastructure, and establishing funds to increase access to financing for exporters. An implementation report indicated that the EDP has led to increased participation in global trade events, streamlined import/export regulations, accredited laboratories and certification bodies, and loans for agricultural processing and equipment.
