In this present experimental investigation an attempt is made to the strength and behavior of the meta kaolin, super
plasticiser and other chemicals on high performance concrete. Cement is replaced by 0%, 20% of Metakaolin by volume
of concrete, thus resulting in the increase in strength. Super-plasticizer is used to increase the workability of concrete,
increase the density and strength. It can permit the reduction in the water cement ratio up to 15%,.Dosage of superplasticizer
is 1.5% by weight of cement.

Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) is a by-product obtained from the blast furnaces used in the iron manufacturing industry. The disposal of the marble powder obtained from marble industry constitutes one of the environmental problems around the world. One of the possible solutions for the effective use of GGBS and marble powder is to partially replace cement in concrete. This paper presents the results of an experimental study on concrete in which the cement is partially replaced by both GGBS and marble powder. In this study, different percentages of GGBS and marble powder are used for partial replacement of cement by 30%. Tests conducted includes workability of fresh concrete (Slump test), strength of hardened concrete (Compressive strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural strength) and durability properties of concrete (Chloride resistance and Sulphate resistance).

The paper presents the studies on properties of blended concretes containing various mineral admixtuers like fly ash, silica fume, ground granulated blast furnace slag and metakaolin as partial replacement to cement. By addition of these admixtures reduces the cement content so that it can minimize the enivornment impact from the producion of cement.Various properties of blended concretes are reviewed from different research articles.

Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is an innovative concrete that does not requires vibration for placing and compaction. SCC has higher powder content and a lower coarse aggregate volume ratio as compared to normally vibrated concrete. If only cement is used in SCC, it becomes high costly, susceptible to be attack and produces much thermal crack. Therefore it is necessary to replace some of the cement by additives like Metakaolin to achieve an economical and durable concrete. Metakaolin (MK) is a pozzolanic material. It is a dehydroxylated form of the clay mineral kaolinite. It is obtained by calcination of kaolinitic clay at a temperature between 500°C and 800°C. Kaolin is a fine, white, clay mineral that has been traditionally used in the manufacture of porcelain. A SSC mix prepaid with the replacement of cement by metakaolin in different ratios (5%, 10%, 15% and 20%). Slump flow and V- Funnel time increase with increase in the percentage of metakaolin and mechanical properties of SCC like Compressive strength, split tensile strength and elastic modulus of SCC decreases with increases in percentage of metakaolin at the age of 7 days and 28 days but increases with increases in percentage of metakaolin at the age of 90 days.

This paper presents a laboratory investigation on optimum level of Fly ash and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) as a partial replacement of cement to study the strength characteristics of concrete. Portland cement was partially replaced by 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, 9%, 10% of GGBS and Fly ash by 20%, 40%, 60% respectively. The water to cementations materials ratio was maintained at 0.45 for all mixes. The strength characteristics of the concrete were evaluated by conducting Compressive strength test, Splitting Tensile strength test and Flexural strength test. The compression strength test were conducted for 7days and 28days of curing and split tensile strength test and flexural strength test were conducted for 28days of curing on a M25 grade concrete. The mix proportion M25 was found to be 1:1.36:2.71.The test results proved that the compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength of concrete mixtures containing GGBS and Fly ash increases as the amount of GGBS and Fly ash increase. After an optimum point, at around 9% of GGBS and 40% of Fly ash of the total binder content, the further addition of GGBS and fly ash does not improve the compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength.

The aim of this Study is to evaluate the performance of concrete (HPC) containing supplementary cementitious materials such as Fly ash & Alccofine. The necessity of high performance concrete is increasing because of demands in the construction industry. Efforts for improving the performance of concrete over the past few years suggest that cement replacement materials along with Mineral & chemical admixtures can improve the strength and durability characteristics of concrete. Alccofine (GGBS) and Fly ash are pozzolanic materials that can be utilized to produce highly durable concrete composites. This study investigates the performance of concrete mixture containing Local Alccofine. in terms of Compressive strength, Sulphate Attack tests, Alkali test and RCPT (Rapid chloride penetration test) at age of 28 and 56 days. In addition find out the optimum dosage of alccofine and fly ash from that get M70 Strength, in final mix proportion perform a given test. Result show that concrete incorporating Alccofine and fly ash had higher compressive strength and alccofine enhanced the durability of concretes and reduced the chloride diffusion. An exponential relationship between chloride permeability and compressive strength of concrete is exhibited.

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out for M-70 Grad Concrete and to evaluate the compressive strength and Flexural Strength of Concrete. High Performance Concrete is made by partial replacement of cement by alccofine, fly ash, silica fume. In this study the Class F fly ash used in various proportions 20 to 35%, alccofine 4 to 14% and silica fume 4% to 14% by weight of cement. The mix proportions of concrete had a water binder ratio for Alccofine mix concrete 0.30 and Silica-fume mix concrete 0.32.super plasticizer was added based on the required degree of workability. The total binder content was 600 kg/m3. The concrete specimens were cured on normal moist curing under normal atmospheric temperature. The compressive strength was determined at 7 , 28 , 56 days and flexural strength was determined at 28 and 56 days The results indicate the concrete made with these proportions generally show excellent fresh and hardened properties. The addition of Alccofine, silica fume shows early strength gaining property and that of fly ash shows a long term strength. The ternary system that is Portland cement-fly ash-Alccofine concrete was found to increase the compressive strength of concrete on all age when compared to concrete made with Portland cement-fly ash-silica fume.

One of the most commonly used construction material in the world is concrete, which is normally produced by OPC. However, the production of OPC has prompted ecological worries over the creation of CO2. Almost to create 1 ton of OPC 1 ton of CO2 is discharged to the atmosphere. With a specific end goal to diminish the utilization of OPC and CO2, the new concrete has been created, that is GEOPOLYMER CONCRETE. Samples were compared with cured at ambient temperature and oven curing. The results showed that mix proportion of 20% replacement of ultra-fine GGBS gave the maximum strength for both oven and ambient curing (76.2 and 91.1 MPa). Even all the durability properties are within the permissible limits.

This paper presents part of the results of an ongoing laboratory study carried out to study on
strength and durability characteristics of ternary concrete made with and without ternary mixtures of
cement-fly ash- silica fume. In the present work an attempt has been made to study the strength
properties of ternary concrete in compression, tension and flexure and also durability aspects of
ternary blended concrete. In the investigation, M25 Grade concrete mix is designed with different
percentages of cementitious materials (5%, 7.5%, 10% & 12.5%) and tests are conducted for
compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexure strengths at 7, 28 and 56 days. Test results
indicate that the replacement of cement by 10% had attained a maximum strength in M25 Grade
concrete. The results obtained thus are encouraging for partial replacement.

Modified Behaviour of Concrete by Replacing Fine Aggregates with Coal Fly Ashijtsrd
The prime objective of the study was to evaluate the structural properties and potential of concrete containing coal fly ash that of concrete containing no coal fly ash of corresponding mix proportions and strength. The cubes were tested for the compressive strength and beams specimens were tested for flexural strength. Splitting tensile strength tests were conducted on cylinder specimens. The total numbers of 60 cubes, 40 beams specimens and 40 numbers of cylinders were tested for compressive strength, flexural strength and splitting tensile strength respectively at different ages to study the following aspect. The effect on unit weight of concrete after incorporating varying proportions of bottom ash. The effect of coal fly ash on workability C.F of fresh concrete. The effect on compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strength using bottom ash in varying percentages as a partial replacement of fine aggregates. Study on Properties of Fresh and Hardened Self Compacting Concrete with Varie...IOSRJMCE
The objective of this paper is to study the properties of fresh and hardened self compacting concrete with varied percentages of metakaolin as mineral admixture (M40 grade). In this study cement is replaced by metakoalin with varied percentages, 20%, 22%, 24%, 26%, 28%, 30%, 32%, 34%, 36% & 38% with a constant packing factor of 1.14. In the present study, B233 GLENIUM super plasticizer is used. As per the European guidelines for Self-compacting concrete, the workability tests such as slump flow test, V-funnel test and L- box, U-box test were carried out in laboratory. The concrete specimens were cured in the tank for 7 and 28 days and tested for determining the compressive strength and split tensile strength and flexural strength respectively. From the study it is observed that workability and mechanical properties such as Compressive strength, Split tensile strength and Flexural strength test increased with increase in metakoalin up to 30% and decreased from 32% to 38%. Non Destructive Test is also performed to assess the quality of concrete in the hardened state.
Developments of nano clay particle reinforced plastics are of growing interest towards the
emergence of new materials which enhance optimal utilization of natural resources and particularly of
renewable resources. The effects of nano clay as filler in Basalt–epoxy composite systems on the
tribological properties have been discussed in this article. Basalt fiber reinforced epoxy (BE) composite
finds widespread application in erosive environment due to its several advantages like high wear
resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio and low cost. Experiments were carried out to study the effects
of impingement angle, particle velocity and filler material on the solid particle erosive wear behavior of
BE composite. The erosive wear is evaluated at different impingement angles from 30° to 90° at three
different velocities of 23, 42, & 60 m/s. The erodent used is silica sand with the size range (150 – 280 µm)
of irregular shape. The result shows semi-ductile behavior with maximum erosion rate at 60°
impingement angle. It is observed that wear rate increases with increasing particle velocity and
decreases with increases of filler percentage. The morphology of the eroded surfaces was examined by
using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Thermal conductivities of these composite samples are measured as per ASTM standard E-1530 by using the Unitherm™ Model 2022 tester, which operates on the double guarded heat flow principle at the temperature ranging from 30˚C to 150˚C. And also the Specific Heat of the powdered samples are measured by using Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC). By using the MATLAB the numerical analysis is carried out to find the value of Thermal Diffusivity with varying temperatures. It was observed that the thermal diffusivity varies with fiber concentration, but the variation of thermal diffusivity with varying temperature was not so significant.

For each level of the transform, the standard deviation of the non-enhanced image coefficients is computed across the six orientations of the DTWCT, then it is normalized.

To validate the temperatures and other thermal quantities like flux and gradient, thermal analysis is done on the evaporator coil by applying properties copper and suitable material like aluminum. And also we are varying inside cooling fluid Hydrocarbon (HC) and Hydro chloroflouro carbon (HCFC).The best material for the evaporator of our design can be checked by comparing the results.

GENERAL
High performance of concrete (HPC) widely been used
in recent years, not only for its increased compressive
strength, improved durability and economic benefits, but
also for its positive impact on the environment.
Some organic compounds are used in the concrete. A new
admixture called METAKAOLIN. Used to the two different
grade of concrete. Designed with different percentage of
Metakaolin and then its effects are observed in improving
of compressive strength and also tensile strength of con-
crete at the same reducing of cost for the concrete.
General Introduction
Researchers have studied on the effect of replacement of
Portland cement by Metakaolin and also on fiber addition
on the mechanical and durability properties of ordinary
Portland cement concrete. The literature being reviewed
is given under 4 sections.
(1) Review of literature of concrete containing pozzolanic
materials such as Metakaolin.
(2) Review of literature of SFRC on impact resistance.
(3) Review of literature of SFRC on workability, compres-
sive strength, tensile strength and modulus of elasticity.
(4) Review of literature of OPCC & SFRC on exposure to
elevated temperatures.
(5) Review of literature of OPCC on compressive strength,
split tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of
elasticity when exposed to different thermal cycles.
Forming Metakaolin
The T-O clay mineral kaolinite does not contain interlayer
water. The temperature of dehydroxylation depends on
the structural layer stacking order. Disordered kaolinite
dehydroxylates between 530 and 570 °C, ordered kaolin-
ite between 570 and 630 °C. Dehydroxylated disordered
kaolinite shows higher pozzolanic activity than ordered.
The dehydroxylation of kaolin to metakaolin is an endo-
thermicin nature due to the large amount of energy re-
quired to remove the chemically bonded hydroxyl ions.
Sequence of Operation
The investigation was carried on M30 and M40 grade con-
crete. Required quantities of materials are calculated Ce-
ment, sand, Course aggregate and fly ash is thoroughly
mixed in dry mixer manually so as to obtain uniform color.
Then the required percentage of Adhesive (METAKAOLIN)
is added to the water calculated for that particular mix,
this water is added to the dry mix with a view of obtain
uniform mix. The compaction factor test and slump cone
test were carried out and the respective values were re-
corded for all mixes. The molds with standard dimensions
i.e., 150mm*150mm were kept on table vibrator and the
concrete was pointed into the molds in 3 layers by poking
with tampering rod and vibrated by table vibrator. The
vibrator was used.
Casting and Curing Of Test Specimens
The specimens of Standard cubes (150mm x 150mm)
standard prisms (100mm x 100mm x 500mm) and stand-
ard cylinders (150mm x 300mm height) 48No, were caste.
Cement was replaced by 0%, 20%, 25%, 30% for M30 and
M40 mixes and they were caste.
Curing
The test specimen cubes, prisms and cylinders were
stored in place, free from vibration in most air at 90%
relative humidity and at a temperature of 270c+_ 20c for
24 hours. Hour from the time of addition of water to the
dry ingredients. After 24 hours the specimens were de-
molded and immediately immersed in clean, fresh water
tank for a period of 28 days.
Abstract
In this present experimental investigation an attempt is made to the strength and behavior of the meta kaolin, super
plasticiser and other chemicals on high performance concrete. Cement is replaced by 0%, 20% of Metakaolin by volume
of concrete, thus resulting in the increase in strength. Super-plasticizer is used to increase the workability of concrete,
increase the density and strength. It can permit the reduction in the water cement ratio up to 15%,.Dosage of super-
plasticizer is 1.5% by weight of cement.

TESTING PROGRAM
Slump Cone Test
Slump cone test is the most common test used to meas-
ure the workability both in laboratory and in field. It is
widely used because of ease in performing this test. It is
not suitable method for very wet or very dry concrete and
stiff mix.it does not measure all factors contributing to
workability. The slump was measured in/mm. as shown
in plate.
Compactions Factor Test
The test is more sensitive and precise than slump cone
test. And this test is used to determine the workability of
low water cement ratio concrete, more accurately. princi-
ple of this test is based up on the measuring the degree of
compaction achieved by a standard amount of work done
by allowing the concrete to fall to a standard height.
Test for Compressive Strength of Concrete
On the date of testing i.e., after 28 days casting of the cube
specimens were removed from the water tank and placed
on flat surface for 10 minutes to wipe off the surface wa-
ter and grit, and also removes the projecting fineness on
the surface of the specimens. Before placing the speci-
men in testing machine the bearing surfaces of the testing
machine was wiped clean, and the cube specimen also
cleaned. The cube specimen was placed in the machine
of 2000KN capacity. The load was applied approximately
140kg/sq.cm/min until the resistance of the specimen to
the increasing load to be sustained, was shown in plate.
The compressive strength of specimen was calculated by
dividing the maximum load applied on the specimen dur-
ing the test by the cross sectional area of the specimen
for which average of three values of three cubes and the
individual variation is more than 15% of the average was
observed.
DISCUSSIONS OF TEST RESULTS
According to investigation reports a part of comprehensive
study intend to decrease the contribution of Metakaolin
on concrete mixes M 30 and M40 with a w/c ratio of 0.4
and 0.36 and cement replacement levels from 0 to 20%
the optimum Metakaolin replacement level and strength
improvement of high performance of concrete have been
decreased.
COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF CONCRETE
The test was carried out to obtain compressive strength of
M30 and M40 grade of concrete. The compressive strength
of high performance of concrete with OPC and metakaolin
concrete at the age of 28 days and presented. There is a
significant Improvement in the strength of concrete be-
cause of the high pozzolanic nature of the METAKAOLIN
and its void filling ability.
It can be seen from the compressive strength of both the
mixes M30 and M40 at 28 days age, with replacement
of cement by METAKAOLIN was increased gradually up
to an optimum replacement level of 20% and then de-
creased.
The maximum 28 day cube compressive strength of M30
grade with 20% of metakaolin was 50.65Mpsa and of
M40 grade with 20 % was 68.91 Mpa. The compressive
strength of M30 grade concrete with partial replacement
of 20% replacement shows10% greater than the control
concrete. The maximum compressive strength of concrete
in combination with METAKAOLIN depend on two param-
eters namely the replacement level, water content ratio.

Metakaolin
Tests for compressive strength of concrete
Based on Laboratory results the following conclusions
are drawn.
1. Cement replacement by adding METAKAOLIN leads to
increase in compressive strength up to 20% replacement
for both M30 and M40 grades of concrete. Beyond 20%
replacement compressive strength decreased.
2. There is a decrease in workability as the replacement
level increases, and hence water consumption will be
more for higher replacements.
3. From the present study it is concluded that the opti-
mum replacement level of cement by Metakaolin is 20%
for M30 and M40 grade of concrete.
4. The 28 days’ strength in respect of both grades of con-
crete with 20% replacement of cement by Metakaolin is
maximum.
5. The addition of METAKAOLIN has further increased
initial 7 day and 28 days, 56 days’ strength as evident
from the tables.
These METAKAOLIN are causing 5-10% of increases in
the 7,28,56 days’ compression in the presence of Metaka-
olin. The maximum strength at 28 days is observed with
0.20% METAKAOLIN and 20% replacement of cement Me-
takaolin

STEP 7 PROPORTION OF VOLUME OF COARSE AG-
GREGATE AND FINE AGGREGATE CONTENT
In the present case water-cement ratio is 0.40. Therefore,
volume of coarse aggregate is required to be increased to
decrease the fine aggregate content. As the water-cement
ratio is lower by 0.10, the proportion of volume of coarse
aggregate is increased by 0.02(at the rate of -/+ 0.01 for
every + 0.05 change in water-cement ratio).
Therefore, corrected proportion of volume of coarse aggre-
gate for the water-cement ratio of 0.40 = 0.62.
Volume of coarse aggregate = 0.62
Volume of fine aggregate content = 1- 0.62 = 0.38
