Development of a Taguchi-based framework for optimizing two quality character...IJERA Editor
A framework based on Taguchi parameter design was developed and successfully demonstrated to optimize two
quality characteristics- surface roughness and angular accuracy in Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM)
process. An orthogonal array (OA)L9was used in the Taguchi experiment design for four controllable
factors, each with three levels. With one non-controllable factor investigated, 18 experiments were conducted in
the Taguchi-based experiment setting, compared to 34 (=81) parameter combination as required by a traditional
DOE setting. Conducted for the two response variables, Taguchi experiments from the case study gave the
optimal combination of pulse on time at 9μs (A1), feed rate at 35 in/min (B2), voltage at 8v (C2), and wire
tension at 165g (D3) for surface roughness optmization, and pulse on time at 13μs (A3), feed rate at 35 in/min
(B2), voltage at 8v (C2), and wire tension at 160g (D2) for angular accuracy optmization. This optimal parameter
setting combination was verified through a confirmation run that confirms the optimal quality responses of
126.1μin for surface roughness and 0.024º for angular accuracy. This research ultimately showed the dual
output variable improvement and the framework established itself as a means to solve similar problems in other
machining applications. The developed framework can serve as guidance for researchers to obtain multivariable

Optimization of Surface Roughness for EN 1010 Low Alloy Steel on WEDM Using R...IJAEMSJORNAL
The term steel is used for many different alloys of iron. All steels cover small amounts of carbon and manganese. There do exist many types of steels which are(among others) plain carbon steel, stainless steel, alloysteel and tool steel. Carbon steel is the most extensively used kind of steel. The properties of carbon steel depend mainly on the amount of carbon it contains. Maximum carbon steel has a carbon content of less than 1%. Carbon steel is made into an extensive range of products, including structural beams, car bodies. In fact, there are 3 types of plain carbon steel namely low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, high carbon steel. It is good to exact that plain carbon steel is a type of steel having a maximum carbon content of 1.5% along with small percentages of silica, Sulphur, phosphorus and manganese. EN 1010 is a lowest amount of carbonalloy steel alloy with carbon content of 0.10%. Machineability of EN 1010 carbon steel is measured to be fairly good. EN 1010 is usually used for rivets and bolts, construction and automotive applications such as pans, nails and transmission cover. The objective of paper is to study the effect of process parameters namely pulse on time, pulse off time, peak current and servo voltage on surface roughness(SR).The effect of process parameters on productivity and accuracy facts is material dependent. To study parametric effect on Surface Roughness a Central Composite design approach of response surface methodology (RSM) is used to plan and study the experiments. The mathematical relationships between WEDM input process parameters and response parameter namely surface roughness is established to determine optimal values of surface roughness mathematically and graphically. The Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is performed to find statistically significant process parameters. Interaction effects of process parameters on surface roughness are analysed using statistical and graphical representations.

Investigation of Process Parameters for Optimization of Surface Roughness in ...IJERA Editor
Surface roughness has significant effect on functionality and service life of components. If surface roughness is properly controlled then, performance of the component enhances in operational applications. Surface roughness becomes key concern when intricate profiles and shapes are required to be manufactured in components. The objective of the paper is to bring up an adequate surface roughness in finish cut by optimizing process variables. If initial surface form is obtained by proper control of machining parameters then additional finishing efforts and lead time reduce a lot. In the industrial tool room survey availability of machining data is prime concern in terms of tuned process parameter for precision machining. Optimization of process parameters is essential in order to arrest surface roughness and thereby improve surface textures. Experimental investigations are performed to study the effect of pulse current, pulse on time and gap voltage on response of surface roughness, in case of ram EDM. Design of experimentation (DOE) and ANOVA are carried out for optimization of process parameters, within work interval of finish cut machining

Abstract Electrical discharge machining is the most widely used machining process in industries. Its use is particularly intense when very complex shapes on hard materials with a high dimensional accuracy are required. However the technological capability of the process has limited application when there is a requirement of high surface quality and mirror like characteristics. Its operation is characterized by long machining time, high tool wear and uncertainty in the final finish of the surface. However for finish surface, materials are subjected to mechanical polishing after EDM, which is wastage of time and energy. To improve the efficiency and surface finish of the work piece, the abrasive particles of Aluminum oxide (Al2O3 ) are mixed into the dielectric fluid at tool-work interface. In this Abrasive mixed EDM, the Abrasive mixed dielectric fluid facilitate the bridging effect and minimize the insulating strength of the dielectric fluid. As a result it improves the material removal rate and surface roughness. This paper presents the effect of abrasive on the performance of the EDM process. The results of both the processes have been analyzed using Design of experiments to find the significant parameters and to obtain the optimum parameters required for machining. Analyzed results indicate that abrasive particle size and abrasive concentration and pulse current are the most significant parameters that improve the material removal rate in comparison with traditional EDM. A new experimental setup is developed for experimentation. The result shows that the MRR increases with the abrasive mixed EDM. Abstract
In this paper, the effect of chromium powder mixed dielectric fluid on machining characteristics of AISI D2 die steel has been studied. Peak current, pulse on time, pulse off time, concentration of powder are the process parameters. The process performance is measured in terms of material removal rate (MRR), tool wear rate (TWR) and surface roughness (SR). The research outcome will identify the important process parameters that maximize MRR, minimize TWR and SR. The design of experiment has been undertaken using Taguchi method. ANOVA analysis has been used to investigate the percentage contribution of each process parameter for optimizing the performance. The study indicates that all the selected parameters except pulse off time have a significant effect on MRR. Current is found to be the most significant factor for MRR and TWR. With increase in current, TWR increases. Also, surface roughness increases with increase in pulse off time.

Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is a specialized thermal machining process
capable of accurately machining parts of hard materials with complex shapes. Response surface
methodology (RSM) with central composite design is selected for experimentation. In the present
work, four factors are taken as input parameters, and the effect of these parameters on MRR are
studied. The influence of the input parameters on response in WEDM process has been examined.
The input parameters are Pulse on time (Ton), Pulse off time (Toff), Servo voltage (SV) and peak
current (IP). The experiments have been performed on high chromium high carbon steel with a wire
of diameter 0.2 mm and the obtained data has been analyzed with the help of RSM using design
expert software. The work piece material was a high carbon high chromium (HCHCr) die steel with
excellent wear resistance, hot toughness and good thermal shock resistance. The experiments shows
that Pulse on time (Ton), Pulse off time (Toff), Servo voltage (SV) and peak current (IP) influence
MRR. Results show that machining speed increases with increase in the pulse on-time and the pulse
off-time increases as the number of discharges within given period of time decreases. Moreover,
there is not much influence of servo voltage on MRR and it increases very slightly with increase in
peak current. Also, as the Ton increases the MRR increases and as Toff increases MRR decreases.
This is because as Ton increases number of sparks per unit time increases and as Toff increases the
sparks per unit time decreases.

PEDM has become an effective method of machining extremely tough and brittle electrically conductive materials. It is widely used in the process of making moulds and dies and sections of complex geometry and intricate shapes. The work piece material selected in this experiment is EN 31 taking into account its wide usage in industrial applications. In today’s world 304 stainless steel contributes to almost half of the world’s production and consumption for industrial purposes. The input variable parameters are type of powder, current, pulse on time and powder concentration. Taguchi method is applied to create an L18 orthogonal array of input variables using the Design of Experiments (DOE). The effect of the variable parameters mentioned above upon machining characteristics such as Material Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface Roughness (SR) is studied and investigated. The tool material is copper. All the calculations are made with the help of MINITAB 16 software. Dielectric used for experimentation is kerosene. Two powders silicon carbide and boron carbide of 70 mesh is used. Most influence factor for MRR observed is powder concentration with 49.12 % contribution. Medium carbon steel EN8 has a wide variety of applications in oil, gas and tool industries. It is most commonly
used where high tensile strength is required. In the present work, an attempt has been made to explore the effect
of machining parameters on Surface Roughness (Ra). Taguchi’s single objective optimization technique is used
to optimize the machining parameters in EDM for EN8 steel. For the experimentation Taguchi’s L27
Orthogonal array has been used. The input parameters selected are Pulse on time (PON), Pulse off time (POFF),
Wire tension (WT) and Wire feed (WF). From the Taguchi results, optimal combination of machining
parameters for Surface Roughness is found at Pulse-on time (PON) level 3(131μs), Pulse-off time (POFF) level 2
(58μs), Wire tension (WT) level 1(2 Kg-f) and Wire feed rate (WF) level 1(4m/min). ANOVA was used to find
the influence of machining parameters on Surface Roughness. From the results, it is found that wire feed rate
(WF) has high influence (F = 47.16) and Pulse-off time (TOFF) has very low influence (F = 1.57) in effecting the
Surface Roughness. Regression model for Surface Roughness has been prepared by using MINITAB-16
software. Experimental values and Regression values of Surface Roughness were compared and from the graph,
it is clear that both the values are very close to each other. Hence, Regression model prepared is accurate,
adequate and it can be used for the prediction of Surface Roughness.

Optimization of Process Parameters And Dielectric Fluids on Machining En 31 B...IJERA Editor
The electric discharge machining is the one of the most desirable machining process for the materials which are having high hardness and good thermal conductivity. The EDM process surpassed through the technological barriers by overcoming limitations like processing speed, material conductivity, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish and so on. However, environmental impact due to release of toxic emissions aerosols during the process, poor operational safety due to fire hazard, electromagnetic radiation and non-bio degradable waste are the major problems concerned with conventional dielectric fluids (i.e. kerosene, hydro carbon, etc.,). To reduce the problems with conventional die electric fluids waste palm oil blended with kerosene is used. The process is mostly used in situations where intricate, complex shapes need to be machined in very hard materials. BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

Banking regulations act of India, 1949 defines banking as “acceptance of deposits for the purpose of lending or investment from the public, repayment on demand or otherwise and withdrawable through cheques, drafts order or otherwise”, the major participants of the Indian financial system are commercial banks, the financial institution encompassing term lending institutions. Investments institutions, specialized financial institution and the state level development banks, non banking financial companies (NBFC) and other market intermediaries such has the stock brokers and money lenders are among the oldest of the certain variants of NBFC and the oldest market participants. The asset quality of banks is one of the most important indicators of their financial health. The Indian banking sector has been facing severe problems of increasing Non- Performing Assets (NPAs). The NPAs growth directly and indirectly affects the quality of assets and profitability of banks. It also shows the efficiency of banks credit risk management and the recovery effectiveness. NPA do not generate any income, whereas, the bank is required to make provisions for such as assets that why is a double edge weapon. This paper outlines the concept of quality of bank loans of different types like Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of selected public and private sector banks. This study is highlighting problems associated with the role of commercial bank in financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME). ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.
