This document summarizes a study examining the effectiveness of King William High School's in-school suspension program. The study found the program lacked clear goals, counseling support, and evaluation. Data analysis revealed high recidivism rates, with nearly half of students receiving multiple assignments. Most teachers and over a third of students did not think the program was effective at improving behavior or reducing recidivism. The study recommends developing a mission, vision and goals for the program, implementing counseling support, and establishing an evaluation component to assess effectiveness.
