Comparison Of The Passionate Shepherd And The Nymph s Reply
Compare Contrast writing lesson
Compare Contrast writing lesson
The two works The passionate shepherd and The nymph s reply are very well connected even though
they come from different authors, However, both poems are very unique when it comes to their
attitude towards the subject. The passionate shepherd is a very upbeat poem that highlights the
positive atmosphere the shepherd believes he can provide for the nymph, If she were to come to be
with him as his lover. He has a very optimistic look towards the world and expresses this through his
use of the nature around him to try and win over the nymph. And we will sit upon rocks, Seeing the
shepherds feed their flocks, By shallow rivers to whose falls Melodious birds sing ... Show more

The nymph knows that the shepherd is not committed to loving her as he has come so quickly and has
not even had a chance to really even meet her. She provides the realism that is needed to help him
understand why she will not say yes to his offer. Her view of nature is well affected by her perception
of time. She compares his love to that of the goods that he offers her, and how as time goes on that
they will begin to rot and fade away. Time drives the flocks from field to fold When rivers rage and
rocks grow cold, And Philomel becometh dumb, The rest complains of cares to come. she points out
how the rocks they would sit on will turn cold with the winter, and the river will start to grow from the
weather. the flocks of sheep will be brought in from the cold, so all he promised will be gone in the
end. She wants a love that will last, but his offer shows that he hasn t matured enough to provide what
she truly desires. Once he finds this she believes he may have a chance, but until then he must hope to
understand what she desires and that he will experience some sort of positive change of himself. In
closing the desires of the shepherd may seem great, but they are rooted in some of the most
unhonorable characteristics of society. Those of an older era, one of constant death and suffering of
people all to support those who did

Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran s...
William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what
distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a
troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father
murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s portrayals of
the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlet s relationship with his mother Gertrude.
Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show
happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with
the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His
black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way
to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed
neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of
power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how
Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom.
On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The
use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and
society while the dark blue

Halberstam Essay
Danilo Capcha Professor Sande English 101 November 18, 2014 Halberstam brilliantly enough
discusses how CGI, which are out of the norm, are being used to exemplify many ideas such as
revolution, capitalism, and transformation. CGI films as explained by Halberstam are movies
generated solely by a computer that breaks off from societal norms which can be considered as being
queer, different or odd, to Halberstam. Movies that include animating revolt usually incorporate
human and non human struggles in which two groups are then pit against each other to show a theme
that would never be shown in adult movies. In the movie, Chicken Run, the chickens are the
oppressed people of society while Mr. Tweedy and Mrs. Tweedy are the ones in control. ... Show more

Woody goes through many milestones in which he shows that being a failure is not such a bad thing
after all. Collectivity is shown in the move when Buzz and Woody, the replaced toy, accidentally set
off on an adventure and are forced to work together to overcome many obstacles. At one point in the
movie, they are trapped in a claw machine and have to find a way out. Although their plan to escape
the claw machine goes very south, Woody still tries to help out Buzz. Halberstam would focus on the
scene when Buzz and Woody are won by Sid the Bully, one of the antagonists in the movie, they are
brought to his house and are selected as the lucky patients in Sid s next toy surgery; Buzz and Woody
yet again must come together to get out of this horrible predicament. A couple of scenes later they are
seen trying to fight of a group of toys who have already been operated upon by Sid but Buzz and
Woody do not know that these toys are just like them. They also want to escape from the horrible
prison they have been placed in but cannot due to their deformation, so they work together to help out
Woody and Buzz escape. Halberstam would notice the change of character the evil toys undergo
because Halberstam believes that most CGI films include characters that are failures, the deformed
toys, and then become great due to their

Abortion Is A Legal Medical Operation
Abortion is a legal medical operation which the government cannot control a woman s private health
care decisions. Since abortion was legalized in 1973, nearly 1,500,000 babies have been aborted each
year. In the last year there have been attacks on organizations that provide health care services and
abortion care or abortion as part of counseling services. Around the country, states have passed laws to
defund planned parenthood and to prevent them from participating in public health care programs.
Politicians manipulate laws from federal family planning funding organizations to tax credit programs
to subvert an organization that even mentions abortion. Legislation is willing to sacrifice domestic
violence shelters as collateral damage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the late 1960s and the early 1970s, the United States performed reforms that made abortions
available. Abortion was defined as a health right and it allowed the procedure when doctors concluded
it was medically necessary. The supreme court appointed for life issued sweeping rules that shocked
the lawyers for expanded abortion rights. The public opinion defined abortion as a privacy right and
open abortions at the request of a pregnant woman. Opponents of abortion came back with strong
complaints that assumed the power of democratically elected legislatures. There are six main ways to
abort a baby. The first is RU 486, it is a drug that promotes abortion taken after the mother misses her
period. It can only be used up to the second month of pregnancy by blocking progesterone from
developing the baby. Then a second drug is taken to stimulate the uterus to contract and the baby is
then expelled. Women who choose this procedure will experience severe cramping, bleeding, and
vomiting. The second is suction aspiration paralyzing the cervical muscle and the abortionist inserts a
plastic tube with a knife edge into the uterus. The baby is busted into pieces then sucked out through
the cut opening of the uterine wall into a bottle. With very heavy bleeding dilation abortion is the third

The Cell Number On The Nanotube With 30 Nm Diameter
Xianglong et al. found similar results (2) in their paper. The cell number on the Nanotube with 30 nm
diameter was significantly higher than the one without the nanotubes. For each incubation time, the
surface with the absence of nanotubes had the least cell adhesion. Even with respect to the filopodia
the nanotubes showed similar behavior. On the surface withy nanotubes of 30 nm diameter, the actin
of the cells was organized along the spreading direction and had formed many filopodia. Interestingly,
most of the cells on the surface of 80 nm diameter group maintained a round or oval shape, but the
cells also stretched out many filopodia. Cells on the three nanotextured surface had stretched out many
filopodia and some lamellipodia. In particular, the cellular cytoskeleton of cells on the 80 nm surface
achieved a more homogeneous and extensive arrangement compared with those of the other three
groups. The shapes of cells grown on the SLA + 30 nm and SLA + 80 nm surfaces were clearly
different. It was observed that those grown on the SLA + 80 nm surface were the most irregularly
shaped, while those grown on the SLA + 30 nm surfaces had relatively regular shapes.
Gene expression on the titanium surfaces was quantified using RT PCR.ALP expression level was
detected higher at week 1 and was subsequently greatly decreased at week 2. The expression level of
ALP in cells grown on the 80 nm surface was more than that in cells grown on other surfaces at all
time points. The lowest

Essay Intel Corporation, 1968-1997
Intel Corporation, 1968 1997
Synopsis:
This case traces the strategic decisions of Intel Corporation which defined its evolution from being a
start up developer of semiconductor memory chips in 1968 to being the industry leader of
microprocessors in 1997 when it ranked amongst the top five American companies and had stock
market valuation of USD 113 billion.
Intel in DRAM business:
The strategies employed by Intel for DRAM business focussed on:
1. Pushing the envelope of product design
2. Being first to market with newest devices
3. Premium pricing and skim marketing. No emphasis on mass production
Initially, Intel had a successful run in this business as they:
1. Had no immediate competition
2. The demand for memory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intel realized the advantage of partnering with IBM and initiated projects like Crush and Checkmate to
counter Motorola to ensure microprocessor supremacy. With the success of securing IBM contract
along with more wins, Intel was on set on track to ensure industry dominance.
Exit from DRAMs
Intel TMT had an emotional connect with the DRAMs business. Successful development of 1M
DRAM was traded off for microprocessor development more on the behest of the middle line
managers who developed the microprocessor technology over time with resources allocated for
DRAM research. This was in line with Intel s entrepreneurial culture which encouraged strategic
planning through all functions. By 1986, Intel s TMT officially approved middle managers pursuit to
exit from the DRAM business and focus on the microprocessor.
Intel as a Microprocessor company
Intel began supplying microprocessor to IBM. To meet the demand, Intel licensed to as many as 12
other companies to produce 8086 chips, which left Intel with just 30% of the total revenues and profits
for that product. Gradually, they reduced the number of licensee to only IBM. Thus they retained the
profits pool within their value chain.
Meanwhile, IBM, who was Intel s star customer, decided to produce own proprietary components.
This was an inflection point for Intel. It partnered with Compaq and Microsoft, to break the hegemony
of IBM. Though Microsoft products did not

Analysis Of New Orleans After The Deluge
The Juxtaposition Graphic novels have the ability to portray multiple perspectives and can cleverly
represent as many groups an author believes is needed. What becomes the decision of the author is
which perspective deems more important or more fascinating. Depending on which the author decides
to portray, there tends to be different effects on the readers. Neufeld uses Scott s Mccloud s ideas from
Understanding Comics, such as adding detail to a character to differentiate them from the reader in
order to induce certain emotions. The perspective taken from the primary source may receive more
empathy or distaste depending on who the author chooses to represent. Through detailing certain
character, this focus is made clear to be on the victims. However, graphic novels are sometimes
subject to biases and misinterpretations, which can belittle the authenticity of the accounts being
given. Different accounts of the events hold different biases. They could either represent those who
have undergone the specific event or that of someone who has speculated from the outside. In A.D.
New Orleans after the Deluge, Josh Neufeld represents a perspective not commonly exemplified, as he
assigns different perspectives to his character and juxtaposes them using the dialogue from their
interactions. A different view of the story is told, and reasons to the questionable, or unethical actions
of the victims are brought into focus and analyzed through a perspective that sides with the victims.

Lauryn Hill Figurative Language
Lauryn Hill s poem Motives and Thoughts sheds particular light on the follies of society including
overlooking the evil motives of its leaders and even its citizens through the use of poetic devices and
figurative language. This 51 line poem touches on the subject of conspiracy and requires the reader to
take a look at herself to determine what her motivation is for engaging in types of activity to gain
power or desires and to look at the motives and thoughts of the leaders whom she follows. Hill uses
several poetic devices and figurative language to enhance the meaning of her poem by placing
emphasis on certain words to capture her audience s attention including repetition, rhyme, allusion,
metaphors, paradox, and oxymoron to reveal the central issues of deception while uncovering minor
themes of downfall due to pride and spirituality. Hill uses allusion and metaphors throughout ... Show

For example, the use of oxymoron is evident in the fourth line of Hill s poem when she expresses
...human condition, morals corrupted (Lauryn Hill Motives and Thoughts ). The phrase morals
corrupted is a combination of two contradictory words that have opposite meanings and are used to
emphasize how deceptive the condition of humanity is because their morals or standards to do what is
right are tarnished. In lines 22 and 23 of Hills s poem, she uses paradox to imply a truth behind how
simple men or primitive man can gain higher education or civilized knowledge in a collapsed system
and still fail to recognize the failure (Lauryn Hill Motives and Thoughts ). Hill further illustrates this
willful blindness in lines 26 and 27, which refer to the stiff necked scholars laden with prescription

Essay on The Downfall of Sparta
The history of Sparta was the great exception to the political evolution of the city states. Despite the
fact that Spartans in the end were all Greek, Sparta failed to ever move in the direction of democratic
rule. Instead, its government evolved into something more closely resembling a modern day
dictatorship. If the Spartans had followed the other Greek city states in their political practices they
might have been able to avoid their own downfall and could have even become stronger.
Spartans were originally Dorians who had come to Laconia as an invading army. Although by the end
of the ninth century they had conquered all of Laconia but still were not satisfied. West of the

The Spartan Constitution called for a government to preserve the old system of the Dark ages.
Although instead of having just one king, they had two, both from predominant families. Spartan
kings enjoyed little of the power handed to them, and were commonly just military and priestly
figureheads. The next branch of government is the council containing twenty eight nobles all over the
age of sixty. This group supervises administration and served as the highest court for criminal trials.
The third body of government, the assembly, is made up of every male Spartan citizen. The assembly
has the power to deny council proposals and elect officials. But the most important and powerful
branch of government is the ephorate. The ephorate s basically were the government; they had the
power to veto any legislation, controlled the education system, and could depose the kings if a
religious omen were to appear. The Spartan government completely in the hands of the ephorate s had
turned into an oligarchy.
The ephorate s even took it as far as eugenics, giving them the power to determine the fate of any
newborn baby born in Sparta. Spartans thought Selective Breeding would create harmony in the state
by producing ideal citizens. In the end this was another terrible mistake the general population let their
government control. If there was no control on

Role Of Andromache In The Iliad
In perusing the various roles women fill in our modern society, it is clear the popularity and relevance
of the patriarchy is dwindling. However, in Homer s Iliad, men reigned omnipotent; women were
treated as objects, won as prizes in war, and are routley discounted as ineffectual human beings.
Whatever the reason for man s dismissal of women as inferiors, the responses of women to their
societal immobility sheds their real traits and abilities in a new light. The Iliad focuses on events
during and at the end of the Trojan War, a conflict that not only pits the two male armies against each
other, but also main female characters Aphrodite, Briseis, and Helen against the pervasiveness and
power of patriarchy. Through a feminist examination of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, women do not retreat to acting like mere sex slaves or beautified objects that the patriarchy
demands of them. Women further characterize themselves in attempting to rid themselves of their utter
lack of power and influence: Aphrodite is a simply a temptress or prostitute on a grand scale.
Aphrodite, like Helen on the mortal level, uses her sexuality and value given by the female body by
the male libito to get what she wants . (Taylor). Ironically, men s objectification of women helps
affirm that they are in fact much more complex as beings, and much more intelligent. Contradicting
the view of the patriarchy, where they are practically seen as imbeciles, women are crafty. They are
able to capitalize on their sexualities, using it as a tool: they see it as a means to be able to satiate their
own desires and moreover, gain some voice in a society that works actively to silence them.
Furthermore, it is absent from the text that women are wholly unable to resist the demands of man,
however, Zeus portrays men as being at the mercy of [the desires of women], unable to resist the wiles
who seduce them (Taylor). Men are painted as inferiors to women in that unlike them, men cannot
circumvent the barrier that is their libodo as has females have found ways of circumventing the
patriarchy. This therefore establishes women as more superior sophisticated mentally,

The Influence Of Technology
Why does technology have a big impact on the world? Technology has grown for years since the first
computer was created and many have been using technology for school, work, interviews. It has made
life more easy and effective way to get stuff done faster because technology impacted many people
over the world and it has benefited us greatly. It s a wonderful way to stay connected to the world and
never miss out on events and important new broadcast.
It has advanced more further than anyone has imagined because the more we discover more things
about modern technology an apply with the knowledge that we already know and come up with a
sequence to make it correspond with other types of function. This can help the community use the
device in an easy format to benefit workers, school students, instructors. Many say that technology
will never stop evolving because each new generation has a different mindset and how they look at
thing. To improve you must have a fresh mind and think outside the box to form something new. I
would say that technology has put life in a unique perspective because it s made things easier for the
new generation because back then they didn t have the resources that we have now. To better ourselves
we must adapted to new and growing generation so that we can teach them how thing work and pass it
down towards the next.
The technology field has a lot of different forms because each has a different process on how each
action like paying a bill with a credit

Safe Disposal of Insulation Material
There have been various types of Insulating materials used within the electrical power industry since
the beginning of electrical power. And over the years scientist and environmentalist have discovered
that most if not all insulating materials are harmful to the human body or the environment in one way
or another, being shot term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a
substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or copper wire safe
to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating materials will break down at a certain
limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator.
This example explained above is one use for an insulating material within the electrical power
industry. Insulators serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit
breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by electrical
workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause health hazards to humans
and environmental hazards to the environment which will be discussed in a bit more detail further on,

The Importance Of IT Risk Management Training Program
An appropriate IT risk management training program must above all be relevant to the skills required
to mitigate the kinds of risk to which an organization s critical information is exposed. A poorly
framed or overly generalized risk training program may fail to adequately prepare employees for real
world threats to an organization s critical IT infrastructure. It is with this in mind that the assignment
at hand seeks to explore training program requirements for an organization that deals with
information, both classified and unclassified, related to the United States defense. In order to complete
this assignment, it is important to conduct myriad steps, including to evaluate what available federal

Furthermore, compliance schedules for NIST security standards and guidelines are established by
OMB in policies, directives, or memoranda. Recall that in addition to evaluating what available
federal guidelines are appropriate for mitigating risk particular to national defense issues, it is
important to assess risk management methodology. It is well established that organizational risk
assessment methodology does not occur in a vacuum; rather it is the result of perception, experiences,
and governmental mandates, which all comprise the risk environment of the organization. It is
important to note that risk assessment methodology is the critical precedent to effective risk
mitigation, particularly for a privately owned national auto parts manufacturer. This process involves a
series of steps, depending on the appropriate strategy adopted for the particular risk situation facing an
organization. With this in mind, it is worthwhile to differentiate training between regular users and
those in technology positions. Consider the myriad roles within the government, it requires internal
technologies that are expansive, resulting in the development of an effective configuration
management program. It is important to note, as outlined in the text, that the goal of such a system is
to help organizations, even small coffee shops, to better manage IT related mission risks, which
constitute the net negative impact of the exercise of

The Government Of Hong Kong Essay
There have been several solutions informed to the government of Hong Kong to encourage green
features such as communal gardens, sunshades and reflectors, wind catchers and noise barriers. (Lo,
2005). The need for green architecture is expanded within this book, justifying the demand in adopting
sustainability within high density cities. Energy efficient designs and renewable energy sources in
buildings have become a world trend in striving for a sustainable future. (Lo, 2005) The inevitable
growing capacity of population and urbanization leads to perceiving high density cities as a problem.
However the sustainability integration will help reduce the energy usage, diminish the use of fossil
fuels and develop new ways to designing architecture.
4.
Do buildings and cities, in the way they are currently built, contribute to green economy and growth?
(Aboulnaga, 2014) The book illustrates how sustainability enhances architecture in the long term, but
also seeks for solutions such as renewable energy, and promoting energy efficient buildings. There are
features to classifying a sustainable building, such as site and surroundings, energy efficiency,
renewable energy use, water consumption, materials etc.
5.
Perhaps the implementation of sustainability in Hong Kong is appropriate due to giving aid to the
damage made towards the surrounding environment. A building with a creative concept is sensitive to

Internet Crimes And The Internet
Introduction
The purpose of this research is to discuss about cybercrimes also known as internet crimes. The
researcher has taken help from a number of online sources and a few books as well. Firstly, the
researcher will discuss about cybercrime, how and when it came in existence. The researcher then will
categorize cybercrimes into 2 parts, cyber abuse and cyber attacks. This in turn has a few subtopics to
follow. And lastly, the researcher will discuss prevention from these kind of attacks.
Technology has been increasing so rapidly in the past fifteen years that it has increased the use of
computers in our daily lives and in the business sector. To keep pace with the rapid increase in
technology, industries such as banking, health, education etc. are very dependent on Internet for all its
activities.
However, what is Internet? Internet is the largest wide area network (WAN) that connects millions of
computers worldwide and it is easily accessible at any corner of the world.
Since the evolution of the Internet almost 20 years back, it has gradually changed and in turn changed
our lives as well and has left a great impact on our lives.
In the earlier times, Internet was only used to search for information but now it not only contains a
library of information but has also become a means of interacting and communicating with one
another and to be able to get new ideas. In simple words, it has become a necessity in our daily lives.
We are very much dependent on Internet for

The History And Evolution Of Sony Pictures
The History and Evolution of Sony Pictures The motion picture industry has endowed us an ample
amount of many years of history and excitement throughout America. Without films in today s social
and cultural society, how could we be perceptive to historical events, current situations, or future
expectations? Sony Pictures have come a long way to be where they are now. To begin, Sony Pictures
was founded in 1918 by two brothers by the name of Harry and Jack Cohn. Harry Cohn was born on
the day of July 23, 1891 in New York City. He was given the most credit of the company throughout
his producing years. Jacob Jack Cohn was the oldest of 4 children that came from an impoverished
family in Germany. He was born on October 27, 1889 in New York City. Even though Harry Cohn
was noticed more for the fame of the now Sony Pictures, he could not have done it without the help of
his older brother, Jack. There was a love hate relationship between the two. Jack and Harry didn t get
along and had constant feuds with each other. One serious brawl that happened between the two was
that Jack tried to preempt Harry by taking over the company due to the fact that he felt as if he was the
one who led the company to fame. Jack s plan didn t work due to his death in 1955 at the age of 67. A

BLTYH S BOOKS INCIDENT SECURITY MANAGEMENT POLICY AND THE ISO/IEC 27035
The ISO/IEC 27035 standard embodies the acceptable practice for the management of information
security and ascertains the guidelines for the initiation, execution, maintenance and enhancement of
information security management in organisations. The ISO 27035 standard is proposed to be a guide
for emergent organisations in developing and implementing their information security policies. The
implementation of this standard will improve an organisation s capability of tackling information
security incidents adequately as well as allay the negative effects of such incidents either directly or
otherwise on their business operations. Proposed by this standard are five phases which organisations
are encouraged to adopt in preparing for information security incidents.
Blyth s Books information security incident management policy needs to reflect the advised activities
expressed in the five phases of incident management to be ISO 27035 compliant.

The plan and prepare phase is quite broad. This phase comprises of the establishment of a
comprehensive incident management structure, the formation of an Information Security Incident

The Physical Importance Of Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor recreation, but more specifically a place attachment that can be associated with outdoor
recreation, has had a huge impact on my life. Throughout my childhood, my family and I would
constantly travel to many outdoor recreation locations including Myrtle Beach, Pinery Provincial
Park, and St. Jacobs Farmers Market. These places hold special meaning and an emotional bond for
me, because I associate them with youthfulness and happiness. While everybody views place
differently, people form emotional attachments and beliefs of these places based on different
specifications. According to Williams and Stewart (1998), individuals may feel a special connection to
a place based on its social or personal history, scenic beauty, or spiritual meaning (p. 22). To truly
understand the meaning of place and the importance of outdoor recreation, I recently took part in four
separate experiential activities at St. Jacobs Farmers Market in Waterloo, Ontario. After partaking in
four outdoor experiential episodes at St. Jacobs Farmers Market, I decided to create a time capsule of
my experience for people to open fifty years from now. The time capsule included post cards, photos
of my experience, and a few physical components that I found represented the market well and
represented the importance of outdoor recreation. One of the physical components was a maple sugar
candy to represent how maple was an important staple to Canadians, and how procuring maple syrup

Chinese Foreign Policy And Its Effect On The Regional...
The general consensus among scholars concludes that China is assertive (Chen, Pu Johnston, 2014,
176). The assertive conduct of China can have an impact on the regional order and stability in South
China Sea. The scholars have different views on the assertiveness of Chinese foreign policy (Chen et
al., 2014, 176). The argument in favour of implementing assertive foreign policy affirms that China
has good intentions regarding the South China Sea (Chen et al., 2014, 181). China is required to have
an assertive conduct because a moderate approach would not bring regional stability (Fangyin, 2016,
877). The opposing argument on assertive foreign policy is concerned with the aggressive and
provocative behaviour of China (Chen et al., 2014, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
China holds historic rights to the South China Sea through its nine dash line in most of the contested
waterways in the region where it can extract resources (Rapp Hooper, 2016, 77 78). The maritime
claims and sovereign claims of China in the South China Sea through the nine dash line must comply
with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (Rapp Hooper, 2016, 78). China had historic rights to
the South China Sea through the nine dash line until it ratified the UNCLOS in 1996 (Rapp Hooper,
2016, 78). China is bound to follow the international law to defend its sovereign rights despite the
tribunal in the Hague ruling in favour of the Philippines (Rapp Hooper, 2016, 81).
The ruling of the tribunal in The Hague was hard on China (Rapp Hooper, 2016, 78). The arbitrary
decision of the tribunal has brought China to a legal crossroads (Rapp Hooper, 2016, 82). The ruling
has placed limitations to the maritime claims of China in the South China Sea (Rapp Hooper, 2016,
80). The maritime claims of China to water and airspace in the South China Sea was declared invalid

Developing the Work Team Essay

Chickfil-A Business Proposal
For my project, I will be creating the accounting portions of a business plan for a Chickfil
A restaurant.
I have selected this business for several reasons. Firstly, Chick fil A is the busiest restaurant I have
ever seen. It is the only vendor in the mall food court that requires waiting line dividers. The double
drive thru line wraps around the building most of the time. During peak hours, the parking lot is so
busy that it cannot hold any more cars. Although there are plenty of competing fast food options in my
town, including McDonald s, Burger King, Subway, KFC,
Popeye s and Wendy s all within half a mile of the Chick fil A restaurant, people will park in the
adjacent lot and walk across a busy road rather than go elsewhere for lunch.

According to their website, they receive approximately
20,000 franchise inquiries every year and select 75 to 80, on average, to become new franchise
operators. Last year, when a friend of a friend opened a Chick fil A franchise, I joked that they would
be serving chicken and taking home the bacon . While I did not know for sure how much profit could
be made from a franchise, I could only assume, based on its popularity, that it was a very lucrative
business.
The story of Chick fil A began in 1946 when Truett Cathy, along with his brother Ben, opened the
Dwarf Grill (now the Dwarf House) near the Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly
Plant. In 1960, when his second Dwarf Grill location was accidentally burned down, Truett
Cathy was forced to rethink his business. His fried chicken sandwich had always sold well, but they
took a long time to prepare and were more expensive compared to hamburgers and fries. In
1961, he found a pressure cooker that could cook a chicken breast in the same amount of time it took
for him to grill a burger. He then sought to reduce the cost of raw chicken by purchasing boneless,
skinless chicken breasts from Goode Brothers Poultry Company. Although

Haim G. Ginott s Congruent Communication Model of Discipline
Congruent Communication Model of Discipline In 1971, Haim G. Ginott developed congruent
communication model that highlights the critical role of communication in discipline. Ginott believes
that the teacher is the influential element in the classroom and is like a parent that holds the authority
to make or break a students personality (Charles, 2011; Ginott, 1971).
Ginott s Key Ideas
1. Discipline: Discipline is a series of little successes.
2. Self Discipline: The most important element is a teacher s own self discipline.
3. Sane Messages: Address the situation not the students personality.
4. Congruent Communication: Teachers use congruent communication that is harmonious with
students own feelings.
5. Students Character: Teachers at their worst attack and label students characters.
6. Model Behavior: Teacher should model the behavior they expect to observe in their students.
7. Invite Cooperation: Inviting collaboration from students is greatly preferable to challenging it.
8. Express Anger: Teacher express anger but in appropriate ways.
9. Labeling the Disabling: Labeling students disables them.
10. Sarcasm: Sarcasm is almost always dangerous.
11. Perils of Praise: Avoid the perils of praise.
Congruent Communication
Congruent Communication means addresses situations, not students character or personality. Ginott
emphasized those teachers at their best, using congruent communication (Manning and Bucher, 2001;
Morris, 1996).

Macbeth And Greed
Greed s Manifestation and Destruction of Characters within British Literature The concept of greed
shows itself as the root of the many immoral acts committed in by various roles. These acts in which
was caused by greed, as the Pardoner, from The Canterbury Tales, defines greed s purpose. This
includes how greed pulls them to corruption such for the characters from The Importance of Being
Earnest. Moreover, Judas s betrayal and Macbeth s collapse demonstrate what greed can produce as a
result: destruction and degeneration. Although the characters differ, their obsessions with their
immoral acts possess similar desires. By condemning and demoralizing the characters with many
types of desires, the authors prove that greed is the driving force ... Show more content on

Greed concerns not with wealth only, but also people s obsession with it. For example, the pardoner
acts as if he would sin for it: I mean to have money, wool, and cheese and wheat [...] given me by the
poorest lad (244). In this quote, the pardoner confesses that in order for him to be wealthy and fed, he
would even seize it from one who has the least Chaucer also portrays his egotistical obsession with
wealth, since he would even give up his conscience. Chaucer s works not only explains the greed s
effect but also in the bible. Judas, one of the twelve apostles had asked what he would get for
delivering him to the priests. So the priests paid him thirty pieces of silver And from that time he
sought opportunity to betray him (Mathews26: 15 16). In this scene, Judas received money for the
prize of Jesus; and then he insensitively invests in betraying Jesus for the greed of wealth. Although he
had other reasons to dislike Jesus, the fact that the silver pieces had made him forsake Jesus, it proves
his guilt for having the greed for wealth. This forced both the Pardoner and Judas to lose empathy for
people, as they only care for themselves and materials. It also drives them into addiction and a
destruction of one s mental health, as Judas eventually hangs himself. Furthermore, greed is a force
that allows all types of sins to occur in all

Taking a Look at the Renaissance
Renaissance is a generally accepted name for the era of great change in culture, art, and architecture
which took place in the fifteenth and sixteenth century Italy, and then left its mark on the culture of the
whole of Europe. During the Renaissance there was a significant shift of universally recognized
values. They began to appreciate and recognize the creative possibilities of a human mind, which
entailed a lot of consequences. One of them was the spectacular development of the architecture, and
the new role of architecture and the architect in society. New forms of secular buildings such as villas,
palaces, houses and town halls were exemplified, but most of building activity was centered on sacred
buildings like the famed Tempietto by Donatano Bramante. Tempietto is a prime example of
Renaissance architecture because not only it represents key characteristics like the simplicity of the
composition, symmetry within structure, but it also resurrects precedents of Christian and pagan origin
which were a baseline for many designs during that period.
For many reasons the Renaissance began in Italy. In addition to the fact that there existed a rich artistic
tradition, Italy was the richest country in Europe at that time. Cities were in bloom, rich merchants and
bankers wanted to glorify their names ordering portraits, building magnificent palaces, decorating
family chapels. And although the mere presence of such a generous patronage did not have to
guarantee the creation of

Charlotte Perkins Gilman s Cupid in the Kitchen
Charlotte Perkins Gilman s Cupid in the Kitchen
As a reader in the 1990 s it s tempting to see Charlotte Perkins Gilman s Cupid in the Kitchen as
revolutionary and ahead of its time. She proposes the complete professionalization of the nutritive and
execretive functions of society, a radical, if not revolutionary notion. However, in the light of the fin
de siecle birth of the modern feminist movement, Gilman is but one voice in many crying for
economic and social justice for women. In effect, the rhetorical situation of 1898 demanded and
created this discourse as it does all discourse (Bitzer 5). Gilman s Cupid is a natural and elegant
response to the conditions which created it: the continuing surplus of unmarried ... Show more content

This event also inspired Gilman s work. In this respect, Gilman s Cupid is neither revolutionary nor
ahead of its time. That it bemoans the status of women in society and demands new opportunities for
employment makes this piece more typical than remarkable. That is not to say that it is trivial. Gilman
s book was both topical and significant in 1898. But what s most interesting in the 1990 s is how her
work differs from that of her contemporaries. What makes it stand out? How is it revolutionary, and
why has it been anthologized? To answer these questions, the reader must follow the work to where
the energy in the prose leads. This calls for a close examination of the most striking feature of her
work, the proposal itself.
Gilman s vision is revolutionary, and in some respects, prophetic. She proposes that the domestic
chores of cleaning and nutrition be professionalized. Because they are so important, she argues, these
tasks should be performed by well educated and trained professionals. She suggests that urban
families living in flats and apartments could eat at a central, professionally staffed kitchen. In the
suburbs, several houses could be linked by a kitchen in a similar way (Gilman 217 19).
Her system offers several advantages. Obviously, people s nutritional requirements could be better met
by a centralized, professionally staffed kitchen. In all

Father Pedro Arrupe Research Paper
His Mission
Father Pedro Arrupe was truly a man of God, born to lead the Jesuit s to greatness. Born in Bilbao,
Spain, he initially felt called to set the world ablaze through medicine. He undertook medical training
for a number of years, but decided his true calling lay with the Jesuits, joining in 1927. He was unable
to pursue his studies in Spain as the Republican government had expelled the Order. This did not deter
him, as he was unwavering in his pursuit of priesthood; he undertook his studies in the Netherlands
and Belgium. Soon, Pedro was ordained and well on his way to finding his place in the Order. The
Society sent him to The United States to study Medical Ethics, after which he set out to spread the
faith to Japan. In 1958, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Jesuits were accused of substituting politics for the gospel, and Arrupe was charged with leading
the Society astray.
Arrupe s time as Superior General was marked with turmoil, as critics believed that the he made too
radical changes and politicized the order. Despite frequent disparagement, Arrupe pressed onwards
with his reforms. Because of this, many people see Father Arrupe as the second founder of the Society
of Jesus. Like Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits, he confronted the difficulties and challenges
the Jesuits faced in his day with brilliance, holiness, and courage. Despite witnessing horrible
atrocities, Arrupe believed God is everywhere in the world. He often said, All are called to know and
serve God, and put that belief into practice through his missionary work. This ethos was the sign of a
man truly born to serve others, a man who, through his compassion and love for others, set the world
ablaze.
A Man for Others
Father Arrupe brought light into the hearts of God s people the world over through his inspirational
leadership. Perhaps the best way of highlighting the profound effect he had on those who followed
him is by hearing their stories. Father Arrupe was genuinly concerned for the wellbeing of the
ordinary people. Dennis Murphy accompanied Father Arrupe to the Philippines. Here, he wanted to
know what ordinary urban poor people thought of these matters. He

The And Justice For All And Eye Of The Beholder Essay
In 1988, Metallica released its fourth album ...And Justice for All which went on to be the band s
second most bestselling album. ...And Justice for All pushes the boundaries of how progressive thrash
metal could be, having more complex song structures and tempo changes than previous albums. The
lyrical content of the album pushes the boundaries of how political metal bands could be as well. The
lyrics in songs such as ...And Justice for All and Eye of the Beholder explore how political oppression
and injustice affect the individual and why it is wrong. The Shortest Straw tells of how discrimination
and blacklisting leave an individual weak and powerless while Dyer s Eve rants of how parents can be
oppressive over the free will of their children. Jean Jacques Rousseau s The Social Contract explains
why someone would come to these conclusions. In The Social Contract, Rousseau argues that for a
social contract to be successful, everyone has to buy into it to keep their individual rights. Rousseau
states that by giving yourself to the general will of the collective society, you give yourself to no one
since you are on equal terms with everyone (Rousseau, 1987, 24). Rousseau s arguments in The Social
Contract about the problems of society and government when it does not follow a proper social

The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse, the first game in the series, was released for the Super
Nintendo Entertainment System during 1992 and 1993 and later re released for the Game Boy
Advance in 2002. In six different levels and with four different special power outfits it features
Mickey Mouse on his journey to find his dog Pluto.[7] The game, and especially its outfit system and
graphics, received mostly positive reviews. It was criticized, however, for being relatively short. A
port for Sega Mega Drive was originally planned, but was abandoned.[8]
Story
Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck are playing catch in the park. When it is Goofy s turn
to throw the ball, he accidentally throws it too far. Pluto runs off chasing the ball and Goofy runs after
Pluto, leaving Mickey alone.[9] Mickey goes searching for his friends after a while, but falls down a

The Effect of Physical Attractiveness on Job Success
Abstract: Although both intelligence and competence are vital to success, a person s physical
appearance can help or hinder their ability to succeed. This paper divides physical appearance into
height, weight, and facial attractiveness, which are examined based on their differing effects in men
and women and how society s perception of each factor shapes their effect on success. This paper then
goes on to explain how appearance can actually have a deeper, more profound impact on the
personality of a person, which may predispose them for success. When including the effects of
education, higher self confidence and better skills afford more success in a business environment

Weight http://www.usatoday.com/educate/college/business/articles/20050724.htm Unlike the extra
inches leading to an increased salary when considering height, those same inches can be increasingly
detrimental to an individual s success if they are added around the waistline. Weight as a facet of
physical appearance plays an important role in determining the salary of an individual over their
lifetime. In the working paper, Body Weight and Women s Labor Market Outcomes , Professor John
Cawley showed that all else equal, heavier women earned less in the job market. He studied three
variables, hourly wages, employment status and occupational sector, to see how body weight affected
a women s ability to succeed. The effect of weight was only seen in white women where an additional
65 pounds lead to an approximate 7% salary penalty. This number translates into the same effect on
salary as an additional year of schooling, three years of job experience, or two years of job tenure.
Weight however, had no effect on employment status or the labor market in which women entered and
little to no effect on the success of men in the workplace (Cawley, 2000, p. 1). Considering society s
perceptions, additional pounds may be looked upon unfavorably because people may equate an
overweight person with being inactive or even lazy and therefore not proactive in their careers. The
low workplace morale that many overweight individuals

Say No to Doping!
Doping in sports has been one of the most discussed issues by the world; either by the free writers or
the body of agencies related with sports. The discussion about this kind of issue has started long time
ago but it became more controversial and intense when Lance Armstrong, who won the 2002 Tour de
France by leaving his nearest rival 7 seconds behind, failed the drug test (Cashmore) . Ellis Cashmore,
a professor of culture, media, and sports at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, through
his article, Making Sense of Sports , came up with an argument that drug should be allowed in sports.
In the article, he effectively countered the argument of some people out there that taking drug will lead
to the unfair competition. As we are from the generation who are never bored of seeking the best in
human ability, the usage of drug is crucial in order to boost the performance of the athlete. The
prohibition of drug usage in sports surely will affect the athletes performances and next lead to the
turning off by the fans and this is surely a thing needs to be taken into account (Cashmore) . I, myself,
agree with Ellis Cashmore that drug should be allowed in sports and I will explain my argument in
terms of the misconception about drug, the role of drug in promising competitive sports, and the
function of drug in maintaining athletes health. First, in order to change the entire rule of sports by

A Mission Statement For A Strategic Planning
In formulating a process for undertaking a strategic plan for, say the veterinary services organization
mentioned in my course paper and presentation, a first step would be formulating at least a mission
statement for the organization. Since the veterinary clinic in question had not formalized a mission
statement its mission was perhaps nebulous or up for debate. Berman suggests that the original
mission statement might be revisited during the design phase (please see the following below),
however, if none is in place prior to the start of strategic planning then perhaps an attempt to develop
one at the start of the strategic planning process is advisable, even if it were to be revisited and
modified during the process. As the Chinese proverb states, 如果你不知道你要去哪裡,任何道路會
帶你去那裡。 * The mission statement allows the organization to develop specific goals and
programs and serve a purpose in the strategic planning process.
Berman states in Chapter 4, the purpose of strategic planning is change, and is therefore a process.
This process, he continues, is typically made up of four phases. These four phases are preplanning,
research, design and implementation. This process helps the organization to align priorities to
changing conditions and opportunities. In the case of the veterinary services organization, it was
poised for change and that change would be best pursued using a strategic planning process. The clinic
was ready for new goals and strategies, and needed to create a shared

The Change In Modern History Have Been Influenced By Many
The change in modern history have been influenced by many factors. Many which have to do with

The mass production of things affected the skills of the workers because they were no longer doing
multiple things in factories. The workers specialized in one part of the process because of the use of
assembly lines. Therefore, they didn t have the skills that they would ve had if each person did
everything or more than one things. Therefore, they got paid less as a result. The 19th century
assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the rest so if
one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed in the
movie Metropolis.
Also, although it was not a very enlightened concept, the workers were not seen as individuals, they
were more of estranged workers and not really important to the factory. They were payed so little and
could easily be replaced. Another example where there is no individualism is The Tiller Girls (formed
in 1889 by John Tiller). They worked as a group and no individual woman had any special importance
to the line, just as the workers in a factory. The Tiller Girls were seen as a mass ornament, which
doesn t celebrate individualism. The economic changes made has to do with the the changes made to
assembly lines and factories. Workers got paid less since they were not skilled, and since it was at a
faster pace there was more production. The faster pace kept everyone in check. Therefore, profit

the first term paper a person writes in high school to the papers they hand in at the college level, the

If writers choose to use voice in their writing, they must consider which voice will represent their
writing the best. One of the first things that can come to mind in choosing a voice is the gender of the
voice that is going to be used. Gender becomes an important decision, because a male or female voice
may represent certain things better then the other gender. Male voices generally have a more
dominant, deep, loud sounding voice. Compared to a female voice which generally has a kind, softer
sounding voice. This may be sexist, but most people put a stereotype on different voices.
As people read things they have formed a stereotype on what gender the voice is coming from. For
example if a male reads a magazine article from a hunting magazine, they are going to think that a
male wrote it without even looking at who actually wrote the article. This is the same for females
reading a magazine about wearing make up, they have a stereotype of who writes these articles. Most
males and females are set in their ways, they have set stereotypes that grows with them as they grow

Reach And Teach Case Study
The school to prison pipeline is a barrier in education due to lack of communication and sound
policies. The school policy should entail strategies to implement the reach and teach method to
minimize some of the on going distractions in the school environment. School discipline continues to
rise in many counties due to the lack of self discipline. In order for us to be able to reach and teach
students, we as adults must be able to communicate with each other without looking at the titles.
Subsequently, we need to accept ideas and focus on the main goals instead of contending with each
other. Working together to reach and teach is a great effort to move forward.
The Reach and Teach method is design to shape the behaviors to prepare students for the real world.

UFO and Alien Sightings
UFO and Alien sightings One of the most interesting topics to think about is if we really alone in this
world. Many people believe that aliens do not exist, and many people believe that aliens do exist.
Some people claim to have been abducted, and some people believe it is crazy to say other life forms
may exist out there. Interesting enough, many signs do point to the existence of extraterrestrial life
forms. Many examples of Alien and UFO sightings include, such as spaceship wreckage, recorded
sightings in the sky, and Alien life forms found on Earth and other planets. To begin with, reported
Alien sightings continue to surface. The 1947 Roswell incident is a great example of a UFO sighting.
An unidentified flying object crashed on a ranch northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, sometime during
the first week of July 1947 ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). Brazel said that as they rode along, he
began to notice unusual pieces of what seemed to be metal debris scattered over a large area. Upon
further inspection, he said, he noticed a shallow trench several hundred feet long gouged into the
ground ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). And, according to Marcel, the debris was strewn over a wide
area, I guess maybe three quarters of a mile long and a few hundred feet wide. Scattered in the debris
were small bits of metal that Marcel held a cigarette lighter to, to see if it would burn ( 1947 Roswell
UFO Incident ). The Proctors told Brazel he might be holding wreckage from an alien

Critical Evaluation Of Critical Analysis Essay
As described by Crowe and O Malley (2006) Critical reflection is the central element that is required
for critical thinking. This process that combines theory with practice facilitates a reasoning to put into
practices, to meet the consumer s needs of mental health services. Hypothetically critical analysis
enables mental health nurses to challenge their own assumptions, values and beliefs, when sharing
their own knowledge and understandings when interfaced with the cultural norms of their clinical
practice.
The aim of this assignment is to critically reflect on a consumer when forming and maintaining a
dialogical relationship. Informed consent was negotiated with the consumer, confidentiality issues
were discussed. Informal meetings were arranged on the consumer s terms.

Strong Proactive Information Security Measures
Strong proactive information security measures in an organization could mean the difference between
a data breach and normal business. As it stands, attackers are getting more persistent, better at finding
out confidential information, and constantly finding new ways to gain access to internal networks. In
order to meet the rising threat, organizations must be able to defend themselves properly. While
standard perimeter defense measures can accept and deny connections, they lack a strong deterrent to
ensure there will be no future attacks. This report focuses on an intrusion technology that will gather
information and use it to recraft a similar attack back to the attacker in hopes that a much stronger
message will be sent.
1. Introduction
With cyber attacks on organizations becoming more frequent, and with the need to keep organizations
secure, counter measures must be taken. While firewalls can help to prevent attacks, simply dropping
packets and declining services is becoming an inefficient message to send to attackers. Taking existing
perimeter defense techniques, like firewalls, and amplifying them to create a new style of device that
will respond to attacks is the next step in firewall technology. With these Offensive Perimeter Devices
(OPDs), organizations can fight back. Imagine being able to replicate the attack that is in progress and
use it against the attackers. The OPD will help to eliminate Denial of Service attacks and ultimately
keep an organization up

School Environment And The Classroom Environment
Do you remember ever as a kid dreading going to school? Somedays you just really didn t feel like it,
but you had to anyway. Now, was it you didn t enjoy school whatsoever, or was it really the
environment they put you in at school? Well, kids today are facing those exact same problems each
day. It s time to get to the bottom of it. The school environment children spend most of their day is a
place many kids across the nation do not enjoy. There are many flaws in today s school environment
that some may not realize. However, many schools tend to blame the kids by telling them they simply
do not want to work and they are acting lazy. Even if there is a small percentage of students where that
really is the case, but for the other ninety percent, that is completely false, and it is crucial we
emphasize that. School environment issues include children being allowed to have their cell phones in
the classroom which is decreases their work time, the excessive amount of homework kids are being
faced with which is causing some kids to cheat and giving them anxiety and stress issues, and the
debate about extending the school which would push back students schedules causing the to get less
sleep, but still having to wake up just as early as before the in the morning. To begin, some students
and teachers are wishing to bring cell phones into the classroom more often. They are becoming rather
eager to have cell phones be the next step in transforming our classrooms into techonology

He pulled Germany out of the League of Nations in 1933, claiming its disarmament clauses were not
fair. He felt that they were directly applied to Germany, and only them. In March 1935 Hitler
announced his army would be raised to 550,000 men and that he was establishing an Air Force. On 1
September 1939, Hitler would alter the world s history forever by invading Poland. After the invasion,
Britain and France declared war on Germany. This was the beginning of World War II. By June 1940,
the German Army conquered the Netherlands, Belgium, and on 22 June 1940 France surrendered. The
swift and unexpected defeat of France resulted in an enflux in Hitler s popularity and a strong sense of
war fever.
Germany s war in the East was based on Hitler s view that Jews were the reason that Germany lost
World War I. His main focus was was on Eastern Europe, aiming to conquer Poland, the Soviet Union
and exterminate the Jewish residents and Slavs in the process. In 1941 Hitler decided to destroy the
Polish nation, and within ten years the section of Poland under Nazi occupation would be cleared of
native Polish residents and resettled by German residents. About 4 million Poles would remain as
slaves as a part of a labour force of 14 million the Nazis intend to create using natives of countries
they conqured through the war. Somewhere around the failed offensive against the Soviet Union in
Moscow in December 1941,

This time is famous for expansions and explorations of the British Empire through Africa and Asia.
The British Navy fought throughout the 19th century, but queen Victoria was still bothered by the Irish
problem throughout her empire. Victoria s failure at the Boer War left her humiliated and upset. In
1899, British armies went south to Africa, fighting the second Boer War. This war lasted from October
1899 to May 1902. During this time Victoria was concerned about her army and navy, and felt as
though she wanted to lift their spirits. She decided to send them chocolate from home as a Christmas
and New Year gift. Due to the Industrial Revolution, the English society was divided into three
classes. There was the Church and Aristocracy, the Middle Class and the Poor, Working Class. The
Victorians were deeply religious, and families were generally large. People were more often than not
Christian, churchgoers, and read the Bible regularly. By the end of Queen Victoria s reign, people
were starting to doubt Christianity or the organized religion. This has been reflected in Charles
Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities . The beginning of her era started off with rapid economic growth
and optimism, but later led to the disintegration of the British Empire. When she first stared ruling,
two men influenced her: Lord Melbourne, her first Prime Minister, and her husband, Prince Albert,
whom she wed in 1840. Both of

It has one nose landing gear leg and two main landing gear legs that are placed under the wing and
retract into the fuselage. 1.1.1 Tricycle gear layout The tricycle gear (figure 1.1) consists of one nose
landing gear leg and two main landing gear legs. When using a tricycle gear, around 13% of the total
weight of the airplane acts down on the nose landing gear and 87% acts down on the main landing
gear. The weight distribution depends on the position of the center of gravity. The center of gravity on
the A320 must be between 17% and 38, 5% on the Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC). The location of
the MAC can be calculated using the aircraft s dimensions . Figure 1.1 Airbus 320 Landing gear
layout The advantage of the tricycle gear is the stabilizing momentum during touchdown when the
aircraft s longitudinal axis is not parallel to the runway. The drag created by the two main gear wheels
is parallel to the motion direction (figure 1.2). This means there is no momentum created however the
drag that works on the two main gear wheels to the side creates a negative momentum. This
momentum turns the aircraft parallel to the runway again. Fig 1.2 Tricycle gear Another advantage of
the tricycle gear is that the aircraft is in a horizontal position when parked on the ground. Unlike the
conventional landing gear configuration which has a tail wheel instead of a nose wheel. With the tail
wheel causes the airplane to stand in

  • 2. Comparison Of The Passionate Shepherd And The Nymph s Reply Compare Contrast writing lesson Compare Contrast writing lesson The two works The passionate shepherd and The nymph s reply are very well connected even though they come from different authors, However, both poems are very unique when it comes to their attitude towards the subject. The passionate shepherd is a very upbeat poem that highlights the positive atmosphere the shepherd believes he can provide for the nymph, If she were to come to be with him as his lover. He has a very optimistic look towards the world and expresses this through his use of the nature around him to try and win over the nymph. And we will sit upon rocks, Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks, By shallow rivers to whose falls Melodious birds sing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nymph knows that the shepherd is not committed to loving her as he has come so quickly and has not even had a chance to really even meet her. She provides the realism that is needed to help him understand why she will not say yes to his offer. Her view of nature is well affected by her perception of time. She compares his love to that of the goods that he offers her, and how as time goes on that they will begin to rot and fade away. Time drives the flocks from field to fold When rivers rage and rocks grow cold, And Philomel becometh dumb, The rest complains of cares to come. she points out how the rocks they would sit on will turn cold with the winter, and the river will start to grow from the weather. the flocks of sheep will be brought in from the cold, so all he promised will be gone in the end. She wants a love that will last, but his offer shows that he hasn t matured enough to provide what she truly desires. Once he finds this she believes he may have a chance, but until then he must hope to understand what she desires and that he will experience some sort of positive change of himself. In closing the desires of the shepherd may seem great, but they are rooted in some of the most unhonorable characteristics of society. Those of an older era, one of constant death and suffering of people all to support those who did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran s... William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s portrayals of the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlet s relationship with his mother Gertrude. Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom. On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and society while the dark blue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Halberstam Essay Danilo Capcha Professor Sande English 101 November 18, 2014 Halberstam brilliantly enough discusses how CGI, which are out of the norm, are being used to exemplify many ideas such as revolution, capitalism, and transformation. CGI films as explained by Halberstam are movies generated solely by a computer that breaks off from societal norms which can be considered as being queer, different or odd, to Halberstam. Movies that include animating revolt usually incorporate human and non human struggles in which two groups are then pit against each other to show a theme that would never be shown in adult movies. In the movie, Chicken Run, the chickens are the oppressed people of society while Mr. Tweedy and Mrs. Tweedy are the ones in control. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Woody goes through many milestones in which he shows that being a failure is not such a bad thing after all. Collectivity is shown in the move when Buzz and Woody, the replaced toy, accidentally set off on an adventure and are forced to work together to overcome many obstacles. At one point in the movie, they are trapped in a claw machine and have to find a way out. Although their plan to escape the claw machine goes very south, Woody still tries to help out Buzz. Halberstam would focus on the scene when Buzz and Woody are won by Sid the Bully, one of the antagonists in the movie, they are brought to his house and are selected as the lucky patients in Sid s next toy surgery; Buzz and Woody yet again must come together to get out of this horrible predicament. A couple of scenes later they are seen trying to fight of a group of toys who have already been operated upon by Sid but Buzz and Woody do not know that these toys are just like them. They also want to escape from the horrible prison they have been placed in but cannot due to their deformation, so they work together to help out Woody and Buzz escape. Since abortion was legalized in 1973, nearly 1,500,000 babies have been aborted each year. In the last year there have been attacks on organizations that provide health care services and abortion care or abortion as part of counseling services. Around the country, states have passed laws to defund planned parenthood and to prevent them from participating in public health care programs. Politicians manipulate laws from federal family planning funding organizations to tax credit programs to subvert an organization that even mentions abortion. During the late 1960s and the early 1970s, the United States performed reforms that made abortions available. Abortion was defined as a health right and it allowed the procedure when doctors concluded it was medically necessary. The supreme court appointed for life issued sweeping rules that shocked the lawyers for expanded abortion rights. The public opinion defined abortion as a privacy right and open abortions at the request of a pregnant woman. Opponents of abortion came back with strong complaints that assumed the power of democratically elected legislatures. There are six main ways to abort a baby. The first is RU 486, it is a drug that promotes abortion taken after the mother misses her period. It can only be used up to the second month of pregnancy by blocking progesterone from developing the baby. Then a second drug is taken to stimulate the uterus to contract and the baby is then expelled. Women who choose this procedure will experience severe cramping, bleeding, and vomiting. The second is suction aspiration paralyzing the cervical muscle and the abortionist inserts a plastic tube with a knife edge into the uterus. The baby is busted into pieces then sucked out through the cut opening of the uterine wall into a bottle. With very heavy bleeding dilation abortion is the third ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The cell number on the Nanotube with 30 nm diameter was significantly higher than the one without the nanotubes. For each incubation time, the surface with the absence of nanotubes had the least cell adhesion. Even with respect to the filopodia the nanotubes showed similar behavior. On the surface withy nanotubes of 30 nm diameter, the actin of the cells was organized along the spreading direction and had formed many filopodia. Interestingly, most of the cells on the surface of 80 nm diameter group maintained a round or oval shape, but the cells also stretched out many filopodia. Cells on the three nanotextured surface had stretched out many filopodia and some lamellipodia. In particular, the cellular cytoskeleton of cells on the 80 nm surface achieved a more homogeneous and extensive arrangement compared with those of the other three groups. The shapes of cells grown on the SLA + 30 nm and SLA + 80 nm surfaces were clearly different. It was observed that those grown on the SLA + 80 nm surface were the most irregularly shaped, while those grown on the SLA + 30 nm surfaces had relatively regular shapes. Gene expression on the titanium surfaces was quantified using RT PCR.ALP expression level was detected higher at week 1 and was subsequently greatly decreased at week 2. The expression level of ALP in cells grown on the 80 nm surface was more than that in cells grown on other surfaces at all time points. The lowest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the success of securing IBM contract along with more wins, Intel was on set on track to ensure industry dominance. Exit from DRAMs Intel TMT had an emotional connect with the DRAMs business. Successful development of 1M DRAM was traded off for microprocessor development more on the behest of the middle line managers who developed the microprocessor technology over time with resources allocated for DRAM research. This was in line with Intel s entrepreneurial culture which encouraged strategic planning through all functions. By 1986, Intel s TMT officially approved middle managers pursuit to exit from the DRAM business and focus on the microprocessor. Intel as a Microprocessor company Intel began supplying microprocessor to IBM. To meet the demand, Intel licensed to as many as 12 other companies to produce 8086 chips, which left Intel with just 30% of the total revenues and profits for that product. Gradually, they reduced the number of licensee to only IBM. Thus they retained the profits pool within their value chain. • 9. Analysis Of New Orleans After The Deluge The Juxtaposition Graphic novels have the ability to portray multiple perspectives and can cleverly represent as many groups an author believes is needed. What becomes the decision of the author is which perspective deems more important or more fascinating. Depending on which the author decides to portray, there tends to be different effects on the readers. Neufeld uses Scott s Mccloud s ideas from Understanding Comics, such as adding detail to a character to differentiate them from the reader in order to induce certain emotions. The perspective taken from the primary source may receive more empathy or distaste depending on who the author chooses to represent. Through detailing certain character, this focus is made clear to be on the victims. However, graphic novels are sometimes subject to biases and misinterpretations, which can belittle the authenticity of the accounts being given. Different accounts of the events hold different biases. They could either represent those who have undergone the specific event or that of someone who has speculated from the outside. In A.D. New Orleans after the Deluge, Josh Neufeld represents a perspective not commonly exemplified, as he assigns different perspectives to his character and juxtaposes them using the dialogue from their interactions. A different view of the story is told, and reasons to the questionable, or unethical actions of the victims are brought into focus and analyzed through a perspective that sides with the victims. ... Lauryn Hill Figurative Language Lauryn Hill s poem Motives and Thoughts sheds particular light on the follies of society including overlooking the evil motives of its leaders and even its citizens through the use of poetic devices and figurative language. Despite the fact that Spartans in the end were all Greek, Sparta failed to ever move in the direction of democratic rule. Instead, its government evolved into something more closely resembling a modern day dictatorship. If the Spartans had followed the other Greek city states in their political practices they might have been able to avoid their own downfall and could have even become stronger. • 12. Role Of Andromache In The Iliad In perusing the various roles women fill in our modern society, it is clear the popularity and relevance of the patriarchy is dwindling. However, in Homer s Iliad, men reigned omnipotent; women were treated as objects, won as prizes in war, and are routley discounted as ineffectual human beings. Whatever the reason for man s dismissal of women as inferiors, the responses of women to their societal immobility sheds their real traits and abilities in a new light. Through a feminist examination of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, women do not retreat to acting like mere sex slaves or beautified objects that the patriarchy demands of them. Women further characterize themselves in attempting to rid themselves of their utter lack of power and influence: Aphrodite is a simply a temptress or prostitute on a grand scale. Aphrodite, like Helen on the mortal level, uses her sexuality and value given by the female body by the male libito to get what she wants . (Taylor). Ironically, men s objectification of women helps affirm that they are in fact much more complex as beings, and much more intelligent. Contradicting the view of the patriarchy, where they are practically seen as imbeciles, women are crafty. They are able to capitalize on their sexualities, using it as a tool: they see it as a means to be able to satiate their own desires and moreover, gain some voice in a society that works actively to silence them. Furthermore, it is absent from the text that women are wholly unable to resist the demands of man, however, Zeus portrays men as being at the mercy of [the desires of women], unable to resist the wiles who seduce them (Taylor). Student Name: Omar Merhi Subject Name: Maintain network protection and control systems (complex) Assignment topic: Safe disposal of insulation Material Assignment Number: 1 Date: 30/3/11 Number of pages: 4 Teacher: Craig Tooke Safe Disposal of Insulation Material There have been various types of Insulating materials used within the electrical power industry since the beginning of electrical power. And over the years scientist and environmentalist have discovered that most if not all insulating materials are harmful to the human body or the environment in one way or another, being shot term or long term exposures. First of all, the term insulating material refers to a substance that has the ability to resist electrical energy flow to make a conductor or copper wire safe to touch by human hands for instance. But all these insulating materials will break down at a certain limit if the power is strong enough, so this tells us that there is no such thing as a perfect insulator. This example explained above is one use for an insulating material within the electrical power industry. Insulators serve many advanced purposes and conditions. Be it Arc suppression within circuit breakers or voltage insulation on power lines, or even protective equipment worn by electrical workers. A majority of these insulating materials have been known to cause health hazards to humans and environmental hazards to the environment which will be discussed in a bit more detail further on, and ... Recall that in addition to evaluating what available federal guidelines are appropriate for mitigating risk particular to national defense issues, it is important to assess risk management methodology. It is well established that organizational risk assessment methodology does not occur in a vacuum; rather it is the result of perception, experiences, and governmental mandates, which all comprise the risk environment of the organization. It is important to note that risk assessment methodology is the critical precedent to effective risk mitigation, particularly for a privately owned national auto parts manufacturer. This process involves a series of steps, depending on the appropriate strategy adopted for the particular risk situation facing an organization. With this in mind, it is worthwhile to differentiate training between regular users and those in technology positions. The implementation of this standard will improve an organisation s capability of tackling information security incidents adequately as well as allay the negative effects of such incidents either directly or otherwise on their business operations. Proposed by this standard are five phases which organisations are encouraged to adopt in preparing for information security incidents. • 20. The Physical Importance Of Outdoor Recreation Outdoor recreation, but more specifically a place attachment that can be associated with outdoor recreation, has had a huge impact on my life. Throughout my childhood, my family and I would constantly travel to many outdoor recreation locations including Myrtle Beach, Pinery Provincial Park, and St. Jacobs Farmers Market. These places hold special meaning and an emotional bond for me, because I associate them with youthfulness and happiness. While everybody views place differently, people form emotional attachments and beliefs of these places based on different specifications. According to Williams and Stewart (1998), individuals may feel a special connection to a place based on its social or personal history, scenic beauty, or spiritual meaning (p. 22). To truly understand the meaning of place and the importance of outdoor recreation, I recently took part in four separate experiential activities at St. Jacobs Farmers Market in Waterloo, Ontario. After partaking in four outdoor experiential episodes at St. Jacobs Farmers Market, I decided to create a time capsule of my experience for people to open fifty years from now. The time capsule included post cards, photos of my experience, and a few physical components that I found represented the market well and represented the importance of outdoor recreation. One of the physical components was a maple sugar candy to represent how maple was an important staple to Canadians, and how procuring maple syrup is an activity that can ... The assertive conduct of China can have an impact on the regional order and stability in South China Sea. The scholars have different views on the assertiveness of Chinese foreign policy (Chen et al., 2014, 176). The argument in favour of implementing assertive foreign policy affirms that China has good intentions regarding the South China Sea (Chen et al., 2014, 181). • 23. Chickfil-A Business Proposal For my project, I will be creating the accounting portions of a business plan for a Chickfil A restaurant. I have selected this business for several reasons. Firstly, Chick fil A is the busiest restaurant I have ever seen. It is the only vendor in the mall food court that requires waiting line dividers. The double drive thru line wraps around the building most of the time. During peak hours, the parking lot is so busy that it cannot hold any more cars. Although there are plenty of competing fast food options in my town, including McDonald s, Burger King, Subway, KFC, Popeye s and Wendy s all within half a mile of the Chick fil A restaurant, people will park in the adjacent lot and walk across a busy road rather than go elsewhere for lunch. While I did not know for sure how much profit could be made from a franchise, I could only assume, based on its popularity, that it was a very lucrative business. The story of Chick fil A began in 1946 when Truett Cathy, along with his brother Ben, opened the Dwarf Grill (now the Dwarf House) near the Ford Motor Company Atlanta Assembly Plant. In 1960, when his second Dwarf Grill location was accidentally burned down, Truett Cathy was forced to rethink his business. His fried chicken sandwich had always sold well, but they took a long time to prepare and were more expensive compared to hamburgers and fries. In 1961, he found a pressure cooker that could cook a chicken breast in the same amount of time it took for him to grill a burger. He then sought to reduce the cost of raw chicken by purchasing boneless, skinless chicken breasts from Goode Brothers Poultry Company. Although ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ginott believes that the teacher is the influential element in the classroom and is like a parent that holds the authority to make or break a students personality (Charles, 2011; Ginott, 1971). Ginott s Key Ideas 1. Discipline: Discipline is a series of little successes. 2. Self Discipline: The most important element is a teacher s own self discipline. 3. Sane Messages: Address the situation not the students personality. 4. Congruent Communication: Teachers use congruent communication that is harmonious with students own feelings. Congruent Communication Congruent Communication means addresses situations, not students character or personality. • 26. Taking a Look at the Renaissance Renaissance is a generally accepted name for the era of great change in culture, art, and architecture which took place in the fifteenth and sixteenth century Italy, and then left its mark on the culture of the whole of Europe. During the Renaissance there was a significant shift of universally recognized values. They began to appreciate and recognize the creative possibilities of a human mind, which entailed a lot of consequences. One of them was the spectacular development of the architecture, and the new role of architecture and the architect in society. New forms of secular buildings such as villas, palaces, houses and town halls were exemplified, but most of building activity was centered on sacred buildings like the famed Tempietto by Donatano Bramante. Tempietto is a prime example of Renaissance architecture because not only it represents key characteristics like the simplicity of the composition, symmetry within structure, but it also resurrects precedents of Christian and pagan origin which were a baseline for many designs during that period. For many reasons the Renaissance began in Italy. In addition to the fact that there existed a rich artistic tradition, Italy was the richest country in Europe at that time. Cities were in bloom, rich merchants and bankers wanted to glorify their names ordering portraits, building magnificent palaces, decorating family chapels. She proposes the complete professionalization of the nutritive and execretive functions of society, a radical, if not revolutionary notion. However, in the light of the fin de siecle birth of the modern feminist movement, Gilman is but one voice in many crying for economic and social justice for women. This event also inspired Gilman s work. In this respect, Gilman s Cupid is neither revolutionary nor ahead of its time. That it bemoans the status of women in society and demands new opportunities for employment makes this piece more typical than remarkable. That is not to say that it is trivial. Gilman s book was both topical and significant in 1898. But what s most interesting in the 1990 s is how her work differs from that of her contemporaries. What makes it stand out? How is it revolutionary, and why has it been anthologized? To answer these questions, the reader must follow the work to where the energy in the prose leads. This calls for a close examination of the most striking feature of her work, the proposal itself. Gilman s vision is revolutionary, and in some respects, prophetic. She proposes that the domestic chores of cleaning and nutrition be professionalized. Because they are so important, she argues, these tasks should be performed by well educated and trained professionals. She suggests that urban families living in flats and apartments could eat at a central, professionally staffed kitchen. In the suburbs, several houses could be linked by a kitchen in a similar way (Gilman 217 19). Her system offers several advantages. Obviously, people s nutritional requirements could be better met by a centralized, professionally staffed kitchen. In all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Weight as a facet of physical appearance plays an important role in determining the salary of an individual over their lifetime. In the working paper, Body Weight and Women s Labor Market Outcomes , Professor John Cawley showed that all else equal, heavier women earned less in the job market. He studied three variables, hourly wages, employment status and occupational sector, to see how body weight affected a women s ability to succeed. The effect of weight was only seen in white women where an additional 65 pounds lead to an approximate 7% salary penalty. This number translates into the same effect on salary as an additional year of schooling, three years of job experience, or two years of job tenure. Weight however, had no effect on employment status or the labor market in which women entered and little to no effect on the success of men in the workplace (Cawley, 2000, p. 1). Ellis Cashmore, a professor of culture, media, and sports at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, through his article, Making Sense of Sports , came up with an argument that drug should be allowed in sports. In the article, he effectively countered the argument of some people out there that taking drug will lead to the unfair competition. A Mission Statement For A Strategic Planning In formulating a process for undertaking a strategic plan for, say the veterinary services organization mentioned in my course paper and presentation, a first step would be formulating at least a mission statement for the organization. Since the veterinary clinic in question had not formalized a mission statement its mission was perhaps nebulous or up for debate. Berman suggests that the original mission statement might be revisited during the design phase (please see the following below), however, if none is in place prior to the start of strategic planning then perhaps an attempt to develop one at the start of the strategic planning process is advisable, even if it were to be revisited and modified during the process. As the Chinese proverb states, 如果你不知道你要去哪裡,任何道路會 帶你去那裡。 * The mission statement allows the organization to develop specific goals and programs and serve a purpose in the strategic planning process. Berman states in Chapter 4, the purpose of strategic planning is change, and is therefore a process. This process, he continues, is typically made up of four phases. These four phases are preplanning, research, design and implementation. This process helps the organization to align priorities to changing conditions and opportunities. The 19th century assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the rest so if one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed in the movie Metropolis. Also, although it was not a very enlightened concept, the workers were not seen as individuals, they were more of estranged workers and not really important to the factory. They were payed so little and could easily be replaced. Another example where there is no individualism is The Tiller Girls (formed in 1889 by John Tiller). They worked as a group and no individual woman had any special importance to the line, just as the workers in a factory. The Tiller Girls were seen as a mass ornament, which doesn t celebrate individualism. The economic changes made has to do with the the changes made to assembly lines and factories. One of the first things that can come to mind in choosing a voice is the gender of the voice that is going to be used. Gender becomes an important decision, because a male or female voice may represent certain things better then the other gender. Male voices generally have a more dominant, deep, loud sounding voice. Compared to a female voice which generally has a kind, softer sounding voice. This may be sexist, but most people put a stereotype on different voices. As people read things they have formed a stereotype on what gender the voice is coming from. • 41. UFO and Alien Sightings UFO and Alien sightings One of the most interesting topics to think about is if we really alone in this world. Many people believe that aliens do not exist, and many people believe that aliens do exist. Some people claim to have been abducted, and some people believe it is crazy to say other life forms may exist out there. Interesting enough, many signs do point to the existence of extraterrestrial life forms. Many examples of Alien and UFO sightings include, such as spaceship wreckage, recorded sightings in the sky, and Alien life forms found on Earth and other planets. To begin with, reported Alien sightings continue to surface. The 1947 Roswell incident is a great example of a UFO sighting. An unidentified flying object crashed on a ranch northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, sometime during the first week of July 1947 ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). Brazel said that as they rode along, he began to notice unusual pieces of what seemed to be metal debris scattered over a large area. Upon further inspection, he said, he noticed a shallow trench several hundred feet long gouged into the ground ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). And, according to Marcel, the debris was strewn over a wide area, I guess maybe three quarters of a mile long and a few hundred feet wide. Scattered in the debris were small bits of metal that Marcel held a cigarette lighter to, to see if it would burn ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). As it stands, attackers are getting more persistent, better at finding out confidential information, and constantly finding new ways to gain access to internal networks. In order to meet the rising threat, organizations must be able to defend themselves properly. While standard perimeter defense measures can accept and deny connections, they lack a strong deterrent to ensure there will be no future attacks. This report focuses on an intrusion technology that will gather information and use it to recraft a similar attack back to the attacker in hopes that a much stronger message will be sent. 1. Introduction With cyber attacks on organizations becoming more frequent, and with the need to keep organizations secure, counter measures must be taken. While firewalls can help to prevent attacks, simply dropping packets and declining services is becoming an inefficient message to send to attackers. Taking existing perimeter defense techniques, like firewalls, and amplifying them to create a new style of device that will respond to attacks is the next step in firewall technology. With these Offensive Perimeter Devices (OPDs), organizations can fight back. Imagine being able to replicate the attack that is in progress and use it against the attackers. The OPD will help to eliminate Denial of Service attacks and ultimately keep an organization up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now, was it you didn t enjoy school whatsoever, or was it really the environment they put you in at school? Well, kids today are facing those exact same problems each day. It s time to get to the bottom of it. The school environment children spend most of their day is a place many kids across the nation do not enjoy. There are many flaws in today s school environment that some may not realize. However, many schools tend to blame the kids by telling them they simply do not want to work and they are acting lazy. Even if there is a small percentage of students where that really is the case, but for the other ninety percent, that is completely false, and it is crucial we emphasize that. When using a tricycle gear, around 13% of the total weight of the airplane acts down on the nose landing gear and 87% acts down on the main landing gear. The weight distribution depends on the position of the center of gravity. The center of gravity on the A320 must be between 17% and 38, 5% on the Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC). The location of the MAC can be calculated using the aircraft s dimensions .
