Pro Abortion (Anti Abortion Rebuttal) Essay
Pro Abortion
Abortion is defined as the expulsion of a fetus by a pregnant female before the normal end of a
pregnancy. Many times and in most cases, specifically in the article titled ABORTION by
Jimmyissmart on oppapers.com, abortion is seen as an act of violence and inhumane murder. It is
mainly for this reason why people who are anti abortion support their point of view. However, to
murder the victim must first be alive, but what is the meaning of life? According to dictionary.com
life is defined as the sum of the distinguishing phenomena of organisms, esp. metabolism, growth,
reproduction and adaptation to environment. Hence, a fetus can not be alive because it lacks the
ability to adapt to its environment, a fetus does not have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some cases women who abort pregnancies do it because at that specific moment in their life
they are just not ready for a baby but look forward to having one at a later date in their life.
Surgery for one is costly and secondly and most importantly once a sterilization of a female is
complete it is highly unlikely for this process to be reversed. In the case that a responsible female
takes the proper precautions by using a condom or taking a pill and still ends up with an unwanted
pregnancy should she drop out of school get a job at McDonalds work for minimum wage and raise
a baby in poverty or should she post pone her getting a baby get an education first then, when she
is more capable to raise and manage a happy and healthy baby do so?
Thirdly, Rape is a big excuse for people who are for abortion. Women who become pregnant
through rape and even incest rape suffer the most severe form of emotional tragedy. Should they
still go through with having that child even though they may be at a time in their life where a child
may completely destroy their life and also the fact that, that child will be the embodiment of that
one moment in their life that they try to forget? One of the underlying themes in Jimmyissmart s
paper is humanity. However, how ironic is

Virginia Woolf Influences
Sometimes authors lives are almost as interesting as the work they produce, and Virginia Woolf s
life is a tremendous example of this. As a woman writing in the early 20th century, Woolf offers a
unique voice that speaks both to her own fascinating life and to the historical moment in which she
was writing.
Woolf was born in 1882 in London, and throughout her life she had the opportunity to surround
herself with London s elite thinkers. She began writing early and published her first novel, The
Voyage Out, in 1915. She would go on to write numerous novels, short stories, and works of
nonfiction. Some of her most influential writings include Orlando, A Room of One s Own, and
Mrs. Dalloway.
Throughout her life, Woolf suffered from nervous breakdowns and depression, and in 1941, having
filled her jacket with stones, Woolf drowned herself in a river. Although Woolf s... Show more

These changes, combined with the human capacity for evil that was displayed during WWI,
resulted in many artists believing that it was necessary to disregard traditional art forms and
philosophies and to attempt to create new and revolutionary works of art. This revolutionary
movement came to be known as modernism. Modernists were eager to experiment and attempted to
complicate reality and how we believe that we understand reality.
Woolf s own work reflects many of the ideals of the modernist movement. Her narration is
defined by its stream of conscience quality; rather than having a fixed narrator with a fixed
perspective, Woolf goes in and out of the minds of different characters, making unexpected
connections that are not always clear or necessarily rational. This feature of her writing allows her
to produce stories that are less driven by the plot than by the beauty of the minute details that make

Procedure Of The Bernoulli s Theorem Apparatus
Procedure Experimental set up The Bernoulli s theorem apparatus is set up on the hydraulic
bench so that its base is horizontal for accurate height measurements from the manometer. The
rig outflow tube is positioned above the volumetric tank. The rig inlet is then connected to the
bench flow supply followed by closing the bench and the apparatus flow control valve. The
pump is then started. The bench valve is gradually opened to fill the test rig with water. The
bench valve and rig flow control valve are closed in order to bleed air from pressure tapping
points and manometers. Then, the air bleed screw is opened and the cap from the adjacent air
valve are removed. A length of small bore tubing from the air valve to volumetric tank is
connected. The bench valve is then opened and allowed to flow through the manometers to
eliminate all air from them. After that, the air bleed screw is tightened and bench valve and test
rig flow control valve are partly opened. The air bleed screw is opened to allow air to enter the
top of the manometers. Lastly, the screw is re tightened when the manometer levels reach a
convenient height. Experimental procedure to obtain results Pump is turned on and bpth the
control valve on hydraulic bench and the venturi tube are adjusted so the tube is filled up with
water. Using the valve on the manifold at the top of the manometer, the air bubbles are bleed off.
To obtain flow rate so that the total head at the inlet

Pros And Cons Of Having High School
Does only having a high school diploma mean you re unsuccessful? This is a topic that receives a
lot of attention in todays society. From political campaigns revolving completely around the
promise of free college education to the argument that many high schools need less book classes
and more hands on vocational classes. In many families in the current time they are the first
members of their families to attend college. However with all the arguments there are still on
question that is left unanswered does only having a high schooldiploma mean that you are
unsuccessful? Just eighteen precent of recent college graduates with student loans of over fifty
thousand dollars believe that the debt of their educationwas truly worth it. Is the debt worth the
education that you gain or is the work experience you gain out of high school with your diploma
better? ($50,000) The average cost to attend a four year college is 129,620 dollars which breaks
down to 32,405 dollars per year. The average family income in the United States is a little over
51,000 dollars per year. With the price of college being so high and the average family income as
low as it is makes the option for a lot of high students out of the question when they graduate high

School Uniforms And Its Effect On Self Image
Most commonly found in private schools, school uniforms are slowly being adopted by public
schools in the US. In the 2003 2004 school year every one in eight schools required uniforms; in
the 2011 2012 school year that number had increased to every one in five schools (ProCon.org). As
violence increased, schools started enforcing uniforms thinking that it would solve the violence.
School uniforms were created in England in the 16th century for students referred to as the charity
children (ProCon.org). In later centuries, high class schools were the most commonly known for
requiring their students to wear uniforms. The first recorded time a public school in the US
required uniforms was in 1987, a school in Maryland put out an optional uniformpolicy
(ProCon.org). Uniforms have been being enforced by private schools for years, but now public
schools are trying to enforce them. Students should not be required to wear uniforms because it
refuses students the ability to express themselves, dress codes are more effective, and uniforms can
cause a detrimental effect on self image. High schoolis a vital time in a child s life to discover who
they are as an individual; expressing themselves through clothes is part of this process. If a student
is required to wear a uniform everyday, that would create a lack of self expression. The First
Amendment states that every human being in the United States is entitled to express themselves
(Anderson). When students are forced to wear

Art of India the Buddhist
Life of Buddhism: The Buddhism is one of the major religion in the world. Buddhism started in
India and so many of its early symbols are related to ancient India and Hinduism as well though
their original meaning were often changed. Buddhism has followers all over the world most of them
from China, India, Sri Lanka, Korea, Japan, Mongolia, and Thailand. The Buddhism religion is
over 2500 years old. The name of Buddhism religion came from a person named Buddha. He was
born Siddhartha Gautama of the Shaka. He was married and had a son. He was a teacher, but he
didn t think to be other than an ordinary human being. Other teachers were either God or directly
inspired by God. The Buddha was a true human being, and he has no inspiration from any God.
According to Buddhism the man is supreme, and he is his own master and there in no other higher
power that judgment over his destiny.
According to the huffingtonpost.com, Buddha, was the first born child. He was expected to

The Limited Liability Partnership ( Llp )
The limited liability partnership (LLP) is another type of partnership. LLP is a partnership
consisting of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners (p. 554). It was
created to limit the personal liability of the partners of losing their personal assets to only their
own acts and omissions and to the acts and omissions of people under their supervision (Nickels,
McHugh, McHugh, 2013, p. 119). This business form also allows a partnership to continue as a
pass through entity for tax purposes (Miller, 2014, p. 554). However, limited liability partnershipis
not recognized as a legal business structure in every state, unlike the general partnership, In
addition, taxing authorities in some states recognize the structure of LLP as a nonpartnership for
tax purposes due to its special structure (Scott Media, n.d.). There is also a limited partnership,
which has one or more general partners and one or more limited partners. One partner will be a
general partner and has unlimited liability and is active in managing the firm whereas the limited
partner will only invest money in the business but does not have any management responsibility or
liability for losses beyond the investment.
Moreover, corporations are another form of business. A corporationis defined as legal entity formed
in compliance with statutory requirements that is distinct from its shareholder owners (Miller,
2014, p. 555). The advantages of corporations include the shareholders

The Importance Of Patient Privacy And Confidentiality
Patient privacy and confidentiality is one of the most important foundations when establishing a
nurse client relationship. When providing care, it is the licensed practical nurses ethical, and legal
responsibility to uphold a clients privacy and confidentiality. Ethically, nurses are also obligated to
advocate for their patients, provide safety, establish a trusting nurse client relationship, and protect
client information. In relations to the CLPBC Professional Standards of Practice for Licensed

passage overviews how nurses maintain and promote the privacy and confidentiality of clients and
client information, the actions to take when confidentiality is breached, and how nurses ensure that
all information is collected, used, and disclosed on pertinent information. Understanding the
difference between privacy and confidentiality is the first step for providing ethical, safe,
compassionate, and competent care. Privacy entails the clients individual right to restrict any
information from being disclosed. People tend to only share information to health care providers
when they feel safe, and in control. Confidentiality, is the health care providers responsibility to
keep enclosed, and private. Nurses should only share patient information to direct sources and when
it is to be used for pertinent data. Providing a private and confidential environment will create a

Wilde Case Summary
Wilde V. City of Normal The new ordinance regulating short term rentals violates Ima Liddle
Wilde right to due process, and right of contract protected under the 14th Amendment. Normal,
Illinois s city ordinance makes the historic 3 story Victorian property valueless, and resulted in a
taking of her property violating the taking clause of the 5th amendment, while also violating her
right to contract with fellow citizen. In Lucas V. South Carolina costal council of 1992, Justice
Antonin Scalia delivers the court s opinion stating sacrifice all economically beneficial uses in the
name of the common good, that is, to leave his property economically idle, he has suffered a

v. Parrish states The constitution does not recognize an absolute and uncontrollable liberty
(Parrish 301) and that laws are required to safe guard the health, safety, and welfare of the people.
If the city can show a clear benefits the ordinance will have on the community, then liberty of
contract argument is not applicable to this case. In Muller v. Oregon (1908) in the opinion Justice
Brewer states that the state can restrict a person s right of contract without violating the 14th
amendment provisions, and again mentioning that contracts are not absolute and extending to all
contracts . (Oregon 298) In this case restrictions are only placed on rentals shorter than 30 days
and requires the owner to reside in the house. Even with the limitations placed on Ms. Wilde the
property still has value, such as selling the property or renting it longer than 30 days at a time.
Justice Blackmun in dissenting in the Lucas case, states the petitioner still can enjoy other
attributes of ownership, such as the right to exclude others (Lucas 1237). Because the property still
has economic productivity, albeit with some regulation the ordinance does not invoke a taking. In
Nolan v. California Coastal Commission (1987) the Essential Nexus was established, meaning a
conditional permit may be constitutional if the owner is Page

Field Observation
Field Notes: Observation 1 On January 29, a Friday, I observed as five student workers ate their
lunch around the UCI Athletics compound area. It was exactly 12:15 PM, when the student
workers marched into the area and grabbed their lunches. These are my co workers, so I did not
have to do much to blend in. However, I did want to act natural, so I drank from a bottle of water
and sat in a chair in the corner of the compound. They were all eating at the same time, because
they only had a short time until they had to get back to work. The first person I observed pulled
his lunch out of an orange sack, in which he carried all of his items to work. He had a variety of

I could tell that he had made his lunch himself. This person was wearing all black, and like many

made sandwich. Upon my observation, it was hard to actually tell everything that was in his
sandwich. From what I could actually view, he had turkey, cheese, tomato, and a jalapeno in his
sandwich. The jalapeno was especially surprising, and his lunch struck me as unique. In
addition to this sandwich, he had fruit snacks and a bottle of water. Moving to another
individual, this person sat quietly on a bucket, while eating a small bag of pumpkin seeds. This
does not really qualify as lunch, but it is a snack. Of all the students eating in the compound
area, his lunch was the smallest. Finally, the last person I observed in the area, was a student
eating another sandwich. All he was eating was a sandwich, and had no water or any other
snacks. In his sandwich, all that appeared to be in it was turkey and cheese. It was a simple
sandwich, but the student did manage to toast the bread. This student was near me, so when the
others left and were walking out of the compound, I asked him if I could interview him after work.

T cells are part of the adaptive immunity that proliferate in the thymus, their protein antigen
receptors provide pathogen specific recognition
T cells binds via the viable regions of О± and ОІ chains to epitopes of fragments of antigens that
are presented on the surface of host cells in a host protein called an MHC (major histocompatibility
complex) molecule.
Helper T cells (CD4+) interact with antigen fragments of MHC 2 class molecules on the surface of
antigen presenting cells and when activated secrete cytokines that stimulate other lymphocytes.
Cycotoxic T cells (CD8+) bind to MHC 1 class on infected host cells and secrete proteins that
initiate destruction.

Trm cells developed within the URT after intranasal influenza virus infection and rapidly cleared a
secondary heterosubtypic influenza infection from the nasal mucosa and, in doing so, prevented
virus spread into the lung.
The URT is a key region to limiting viral spread to the LRT and, therefore, in preventing the

Trm cells in the nasal tissue of the URT are not susceptible to the same erosion and can provide
long term protection against secondary influenza virus infections. Trm cells present within the URT

Progenitor Lab Effects
Direct effects of Estrogenic Chemicals on Human Prostate Stem and Progenitor Cells
To directly assess the actions of estrogens on prostate stem and progenitor cells and to evaluate
the relevance of these findings in the human prostate gland, we recently derived in vitro and in
vivo systems utilizing primary cells cultured from prostates of young, disease free organ donors.
Adult prostate stem cells were enriched by FACS (CD49fhi, Trop2hi) or 3 D matrigel culture to
form prostaspheres (PS). In the PS assay, ~0.5% of the primary epithelial cells were capable of
survival and cell divisions (both symmetric and asymmetric), forming clonal spheres of stem and

Prostaspheres containing stem and undifferentiated progenitor cells were dispersed, combined with
inductive urogenital sinus mesenchyme from an embryonic rat and grafted under the renal capsule
of adult male nude mice [#3549]. At one month, the engrafted cells had formed normal prostate like
structures with differentiated human prostate epithelium that expressed prostate specific antigen
(PSA). Once mature tissues formed, treatment of the host with elevated estradiol levels with
testosterone support induced lesions in the human prostate epithelium over time, progressing
from hyperplasia, squamous metaplasia and high grade PIN to adenocarcinoma at a low
incidence by 4 months. To test whether BPA could influence this process, host mice were orally
exposed to low doses of BPA (peak unconjugated BPA levels of ~0.4 to 1.3 ng/ml) during the first
two weeks following stem progenitor cell engraftment to recapitulate developmental exposure.
The incidence of malignancy in the human prostate epithelium significantly increased from
13% in oil exposed controls to 33 36% in tissues briefly exposed to BPA followed by 2 4 months of
elevated estradiol with testosterone. This further increased to 45% cancerous lesions when the PS
cells were exposed to BPA in vitro followed by 2 weeks of in vivo

Although price is a pertinent perspective in decision making, non business travellers also focus on
standards of quality on offer (Belk, p. 86). For instance, most non business travellers emphasize on
the quality of hospitality services such as privacy and safety.
Without qualitative research, it would have been extremely difficult for Marriot to investigate these
perspectives. It is also vital to note that qualitative research has been the leading light in helping this
firm evaluate the different gains and shortcomings of focusing on the non business travellers.
Consequently, this has strengthened the company s framework for market expansion. Qualitative
research has also been essential in establishing the most appropriate marketing strategies for the
firm in the USA (Morrison, p. 75). In the modern business environment, advertising strategies are
extremely pivotal towards the determining a firm s overall performance (Hospitality net, 2013).
Marriott has been evaluated based on amenities like convenience, comfort, services, price and

Descriptive Essay About The Woods
The Woods There s been stories floating around regarding the forest lining the edge of town. Some
folk around here think that there s animals and creatures beyond imagination past the treeline,
others think that s a bunch of bologna. One night, about twenty years ago, a young boy ran away
from home and fled to the forest. Forty eight hours later the police declare him missing, and for
three weeks police, detectives, and civilian volunteers were searching for the boy. And so the weeks
turned into months, and months turned into years, but the little boy never came home. Dude, what
are you doing? Zach yelped, scurrying after his friend, tripping on branches. Earlier that evening,
Carson, Zach, and a few other of their friends were hanging out at the annual Halloween bonfire.
They were heading home when one of the boys decided they should take a shortcut, taking an
alleyway behind the grocery store that cuts to a bumpy run down street littered with trash and
cracks. Coincidentally, this winding road cuts a corner through the forest, emerging on the other
side of town. Wandering along the pothole laden street, the wind starts howling, and the group hears
a strange noise from amongst the trees, snapping branches and crunching leaves. Stopping, the boys
peer in every direction, but notice nothing except the trees in the pale moonlight. Did you hear that?
I think something s out there , one of the boys stated, peering through the branches to his left. No

Reunion In The Great Gatsby Essay
How does Fitzgerald present Gatsby s and Daisy s reunion as initially awkward in chapter 5?
Fitzgerald presents Gatsby and Daisy s reunion as initially awkward, through having their
conversations be stilled and abstruse, with both characters whereby behaving in an embarrassed and
vague manner. Furthermore, Fitzgerald also represents their initially awkward reunion through
Nick, of who bares witness to their reconciliation and of who, also, attempts to dissolve the tension
between the pair. Moreover, Fitzgerald also presents the awkward reunion, through Gatsby s
panicked reaction to Daisy, distraught eyes stared down , and also, his clumsy behaviour,
whereupon he turned and caught it with trembling fingers . However, Daisy s change ... Show more

Gatsby s strong and almost sudden reaction to Daisy speaking, proposes that Fitzgerald is
attempting to use emotive language, as to show Gatsby s urgency to resume some form of bond
with Daisy. However, due to Gatsby s abrupt and hurried reaction, the atmosphere, once again,
becomes constrained and abrasive, this shown when Nick narrates that, the automotive quality of
Gatsby s answer set us all back for another minute .
The use of Nick describing that Gatsby had Distraught eyes , suggests that Fitzgerald is trying to
perpetuate that Gatsby is nervous and scared to be within Daisy s presence, after so long. The use
of prenotification in this text, suggests that Fitzgerald is trying to foreshadow future circumstances
between the pair, but also, suggests that Gatsby is worried about their disconnected relationship.
Fitzgerald also uses emotive language within this text, with using Distraught , as to preserve the
fact that Gatsby is anxious and scared. This also perpetuates the sense of awkwardness between the
pair, as Gatsby is seen as being Distraught and positioning himself in a frigid manner, head leaned
so far back leaning against the mantelpiece , and Daisy being frightened but graceful , suggests that
the pair are having comparatively similar thoughts on the situation.
Fitzgerald also proposes the awkward nature of their initial meeting, through having Nick

He told me that he s been to numerous barbershops and none of them ever gave him the haircut

Essay about It s Time to Reform the Endangered Species Act
It s Time to Reform the Endangered Species Act
In 1973, Congress passed the Endangered Species Act. The Act was passed in response to findings
by Congress that growth and development were responsible for the extinction of species of fish,
wildlife and plants.
This Act was to provide programs to protect species identified as either endangered or threatened. It
also mandated Federal agencies and departments to protect endangered and threatened species in
their own operations, as well as work with State and local agencies to further promote conservation
and protection of identified species.
By the definition of the Endangered Species Act, a species covered by the legislation is either
classified Endangered if threatened with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They felt Recovery plans all too often manage for extinction rather than for survival .
The National Wildlife Institute has published Conservation Under the Endangered Species Act: A
Promise Broken . Their critique of the Act includes questioning the programs undertaken as a
result of the Act have played sufficient roles in the recovery of species that were delisted, as well
as questioning the allocation of funding to programs intended to aid listed species.
The National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition is questioning the effectiveness of the
Act, as well as its impact on people. Pointing to the poor progress of removing species from the
Endangered and Threatened lists, the group calls on reform of the Act, to reform the methods for
determining eligibility for listing, opening the listing and regulatory processes of the Act to include
participation from all groups affected by the legislation, and providing more incentives for private
citizens and businesses to pro actively participate in conservation of listed species.
MY OPINION
While well intended, the Act has some shortcomings, as indicated by the lack of progress in getting
species off the list. This indicates that the programs that are part of the Act are failing to accomplish
their mandated objective.
Also, while biodiversity is crucial to protect, there are natural processes

Old Growth Forest Essay
1.In winters with high snow accumulation, deer prefer old growth forest. Old stands of cedar, fir,
and spruce provide good cover from the snow. Old growth forest has more of a diverse tree
structure with greatly varying tree heights and diameters, which makes better tree canopies. Tree
canopies reduce the depth of snow on the ground by intercepting the snow. When there are low
snow accumulating winters, deer prefer early successional forest. Early successional forest has
smaller trees and shrubs and grasses, which makes it good food resources.
2.A. It is most important to conserve old forest growth as management policies for black tailed
deer. Though the understory biomass in old growth stands is not as great as it is in early
succession forest, old forest growth is more beneficial for deer in the winter. Trees are taller and
there is less snow cover. Older trees are more nutritious food sources for deer, since there is a 10%
higher concentration of inorganic nutrients. Finally, old growth is more of a variety of forage
distribution.

Improving old growth forest, has some consequences to the three components of sustainability,
which are ecology, society, and economy. In the economic sense, timbers would lose the ability
to cut as much wood to provide a better habitat for deer. They would lose profit and jobs in the
logging industry. In the ecological sense, if there is an improvement of habitat, it would cause
more a higher population in deer. If there is a higher population in deer, there would be more
loss of shrubs and small trees, which would change the forest composition. This affect will change
abundance of variety of birds and mammals. It would affect the overall ecology of these areas. In
the societal sense, if there is an increase of deer, there has to be more and stricter management and
policies for deer hunting. If there are more deer, there may be more human and deer conflict, with
the potential of car accidents/

The People s Insurance Company Of Canada
Name : Dolphine Bisase
Id : 213349311
Assignment: Midterm Assignment, Management 3990
While the intention was that the People s Insurance Company of Canada (PICC) would have an
organic organizational structure, this intention was at least partially offset by the close integration
of the Insurance company with the parent People s Bank. The result was an entity in which the
superficially organic, generally non hierarchical Insurance organization has been overridden by the
highly hierarchical and mechanistic bank organization. The PICC s actual structure has both
mechanistic and organic aspects. With regard to work specialization, it is generally narrow and
mechanistic with the VP for HR, Mary Thorne, fighting an ongoing battle with the Bank on the
grounds that PICC needed staff with specialized skills in the insurance industry. With respect to
chain of command, while the structure of PICC was intended to be open, non hierarchical and
organic, it is clear that it is generally mechanistic in its most important aspects. For example, while
there may be an open office environment in general, the senior team members have private offices.
Similarly, while the the emphasis of PICC is towards self managing teams, many approvals such
as new purchases had to be signed off by multiple layers of the bank s management. Thus, the chain
of command is very rigid in terms of its senior decision makers. In terms of centralization of
decision making, it appears that

The General Search Engine Architecture
Different search engines such as Google are complex, sophisticated, distributed systems. Below we
reproduce the general search engine architecture discussed in Searching the Web , Arvind Arasu,
Junghoo Cho, Hector Garcia Molina, Andreas Paepcke, Sriram Raghavan (Stanford University).
ACM Transactions on Internet Technology (TOIT), Volume 1, Issue 1 (August 2001).
The main components include, parallel crawlers/ and crawler control (when and where to crawl),
page repository, indexer, analysis, collection of data structures (index tables, structure, utility), and
query engine and ranking module. Such a general architecture would take a significant amount of
time to code. In this course, we implement stripped down versions of the main ... Show more

Besides that, there are also other difficulties as well. There might be too many relevant pages for
a simple query. Also, it is difficult to compare two search engines, because of their continuous
improvement. There are three ranking algorithm that are proposed by Yuwono and Lee. They are
Boolean spread, vector spread, and most cited. The first two are the normal ranking algorithms of
the Boolean and vector model extended to include pages pointed to by a page in the answer or
pages that point to a page in the answer. The third, most cited, is based only on the terms included
in pages having a link to pages in the answer.(Yuwono, 1996)
There are also other approaches as well. WebQuery allows visual browsing of the
Web pages. Their ranking algorithm is based on how connected each Web page is. The
Page Rank algorithm uses the equation defined below here a is the page that we want to rank
PR(a) is page rank of page a; q is the probability of the page being accessed; p1 to pn is the pages
that point to page a. C(a) is the number of out going link in page a. Google search engine uses the
Page Rank algorithm as well. It simulates users using the search engine and applies the equation
to rank the Web pages. It uses a citation graph. The graph contains 518 million links. It allows
rapid calculation. 26 million Web pages can be computed in a few hours. The page has high
ranking when many other pages point to it or if some other high ranking pages point to it. (Brin,
1998)

Persuasive Speech About Courage In Life
You finally get home from a long day at school. You through your backpack down carelessly and
plop yourself down in a chair ready to relax. Then, you realize that you can t rest and you have to
finish the history essay, the math worksheet, the spanish project, and the science notes. In high

an individual must stay strong during times of hardship and doubt, focus on their own priorities,
and to not get peer pressured into doing something that isn t their passion.
One way to preserve, protect, and grow one s passion is to stay strong during times of hardship
and doubt. For example, Wes s hand is on my back now too. He says, You need to be strong for
Erin. Be a man. Okay? I nod because I m supposed to, but I feel like I m going to throw up again
(Quick 174). Even though Finley says that he wants to throw up inside, he knows that he has to
stay strong for Erin. One of his passions was Erin and being with her because she s one of the
only things that Finley likes in this town and she helps him get through his days and even his life.
If he breaks down in front of her, then what type of strength will she have after that? Another way
we need to stay strong and keep our passions is because of the direction our school programs have
been taking. For example, Our educational

with other industries, the Gym, Health and Fitness Clubs industry has remained remarkably
resilient, as increased leisure time and boosts in health and morale from exercise have kept the

Community Maintenance Plan Paper
Revitalizing our neighborhoods is as important as getting people into homes. Broken
neighborhoods with streets in need of repair, limited access to shopping areas, few job
opportunities, and despair seeping around every corner is not good for either individuals or
communities.
I plan on using the Year of Giving as part of the plan to combat this. Our nation s youth will go
into these areas and clean them up, plant gardens, and help support new services that I hope to
bring to each of these areas.
These communities will also be given priority in city maintenance plans. Targeting issues, such as
repairing roads, water and sewer services, mass transit, and upgrading the electrical systems for
more solar and wind initiatives.
Getting jobs into these neighborhoods is also important. And the best way to do that is to
encourage small businesses to set up shop in these areas. Low interest loans and other
considerations will be given to people who wish to open a business, with priority given to those
who are residents of that community.
I would like to see city planners work with local residents to bring the kind of services and
businesses each community needs to thrive. Using local, state and federal money, we will build up
our communities and improve living conditions for all of our citizens. Living in low income areas

What is the importance of the description of Alison in...
In The Miller s Tale , the poet Chaucer depicts the tale of a hende man and his attempt to tempt

The Miller s Tale is just one story amongst a collection of greater works known collectively as
The Canterbury Tales . The placing of this tale is significant becomes it comes directly after the
Knight s Tale revolving around nobility and chivalry and forms a direct contrast due to the fact it
is bawdy, lewd and highly inappropriate. The tale is a fabliau, a versified short story designed to

We are also invited to think of Alison as a sexual being in the line upon hir lendes (loins) We can
also infer that Alison is somewhat promiscuous (and therefore John has a right to [hold] hire

know that if her skirt was hitched up. Short skirts in those days had connotations with prostitutes,
the same as they do today.
The appropriate attitude for a man to take to such a woman (the Miller thinks) is shown by such
terms as quot;popelote quot;, quot;primerole quot; and quot;piggesnie quot;, for which we can
readily find modern equivalents. Alison is suitable as a mistress for quot;any lord quot;; as a
wife, she can expect at best to marry a yeoman, for any good yeman to wedde . Among the many
other physical details packed into the Miller s set piece description we learn that Alison has
delicately plucked sloe black eyebrows; that she is tall and erect ( upright as a bolt ) and that her
breath is sweet. Much of the account is taken up with an inventory of her clothes. These seem
fairly expensive, but John evidently wishes her to spend on her wardrobe. The clothes are stylish
and exaggerate her attractive features. We learn that many garments are of silk, that smock and
collar are embroidered, that her apron is

Toilet Learning
When you are teaching Special Needs Kids to use the toilet, parents basically undressed them and
sat them in a potty stool for extended periods until they eliminated. Then often called toilet training,
past practices and past terms have been updated. Research has shown that seeing the kid as an
active player makes the toileting technique more enjoyable. Therefore, a more appropriate name for
the technique is toiletmastery or toilet learning. Toilet learning is a developmental technique in
which a kid learns to make use of the toilet appropriately. As in lots of areas of kid development,
kids must reach a positive age or be in the proper setting or situation before they are prepared to

MOS technology has shown promising results for electrode preparation but has certain limitations
of decrease in threshold voltage due to mismatch in charge components, and thinner gate oxide

counter parts of microphotodiodes and CCD [17]. Unlike the initial trials of obtaining the

Downtown Houston is often associated with business, entertainment and plenty of traffic. However,
over the next 5 years the center of our city will be focusing on building its reputation as a

If his master is happy, so is Conseil. Ironic to his name, in French conseil actually means counsel,
which means to advise. Most of us who read the book knows that Conseil is basically there to
serve Aronnax, his master, not to advise him. Also if you were wondering, Conseil is a person,
not a dog. Sometimes, Conseils personality is hunours, like when he tries to eat a fish that
supposed stings him out of revenge, even though it tastes horrible But other times, they reveal a
passion that you would not expect to find in a man who sometimes acted like a robot. For
example, his reaction to the cannibal attack on a island that they were temporily stranded on with
the Nautilus due to low tide. While he did compare the savages to monkeys, he also makes some
surprisingly intelligent statements, such as when Aronnax states that savages are bad because they

One can be a cannibal and a good man, just as one can be a glutton and honest. The one does not
exclude the other. 1

My Culture, Identity, And Many Aspects Of My Cultural...
Each individual has a specific culture that can they can use to identify oneself. I discovered my
own cultural identity with the help of many aspects I have faced throughout my life. Culture is an
important role in everyone s life. Culture can be discovered by seeing how different an individual
is from someone else. It can also be seen even when you don t realize it. My familyhave been a
major impact on discovering my cultural identity. My cultural identity would not exist if it weren t
for previous experiences I have encountered up until this point. My cultural identity is involved in
many aspects of my life because of how my family influences my culture, how my view on culture
differs from everyone else, and how society views me.
My family influences my culture by introducing me to new things from their culture. As I am
growing up, I always think about how everything I have done in my life has led up to where I
am as of now. Similarly, In the Springboard article, Ethnic Hash , written by Patricia J. Williams,
she questions, What were the flavors, accents, and linguistic trills that were passed down to me
over the ages? (Williams 11) My family has been teaching me new things everyday that help
identify my culture. My name was given to me by my father and my grandmother and my mom
chose my nickname. I like that my name was given to me by multiple family members who all
worked together to find something that fits me perfectly. There are also many aspects of my
culture that explain who I am. I grew up with my mom, so I mainly grew up around the filipino
culture. I would have to say that food has to be one of the main aspects that have affected my
culture. All my life, filipino food has been around and it helped me get to know part of my
culture even better. The different foods introduced me to different flavors that are specific to
their culture. The food can help explain who I am because it can determine what I do and don t
like. As a result of my family s influences, I have been able to identify myself as who I am today.
Other people s perspective on culture differs from my own. I view my culture as something that is
normal to my everyday routine. Others may see my culture as something they ve never seen

Comparing Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet; a classic tragedy of two lovers who cannot be together due to circumstances
beyond their control. The story has been done by various movies, many of which change certain
aspects in an attempt to breathe new life into this age old tale. In 1996, Director Baz Luhrman
took the story and placed it in a modern setting where the two rival families are mafia families.
This sounds like an interesting take on the story and it certainly was, but the movie turned out as a

For one, it remained mostly faithful the original work with some minor and somewhat
humorous changes to better fit the modern setting. The dialogue was even left almost exactly
how it was written by Shakespeare all those years ago, which was amusing at times, but it always
sounded out of place. The acting was by far the best part of the whole movie. Leonardo DiCaprio
as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet played their parts to the best of their abilities and the best
moments of the movie were when they were the only two in the scene. The others also played their
parts well and if not for the outdated feel of the dialogue, it would almost seem as though all of it
was something that had actually happened. If you are considering showing this to anyone studying
Romeo and Juliet, you would be better off showing them any other movie. Students will not learn
anything at all about the story by watching this as opposed to any other film adaptation. Although
the movie remains somewhat faithful to the original Romeo and Juliet while adding an interesting
twist to the story, there is almost no educational value to the movie. It is very likely that students
will not understand most of what is going on here either because the story was not presented well,
or because they are unable to take it

Bates Motel Analysis
A young woman pulls into a motel, somewhere in California. It s raining. She checks in, alone, and
settles for the night. Once in the room, the woman then undresses and turns on the shower. As she
showers, a suspenseful violin music starts playing and she s surprised by what seems to be an old
lady holding a knife, who violently pulls aside the shower curtain. The woman screeches. The
attacker then stabs the naked woman multiple times until she lies dead in the bathtub.
Does this scenario sound familiar to you? Then you ve probably seen or heard of Psycho , Alfred
Hitchcock s chef d oeuvre. The master of suspense 1960 film and Robert Bloch s book of the
same name became the inspiration for the new A E television series Bates Motel, a contemporary

the story behind the shower killer s bizarre personality, his murders, and his sick relationship with

Cave burial was one of the most common ways to put a body to rest. Placement of the bodies
were in lava tubes, rock shelters, or hitches that contained several bodies inside. Burying the
deceased in sand dunes or in earth was another common but preferred method. Majority of the sand
dunes in Hawaii have some kind of history with burial (Kirch 240). Apart from buried in the earth,
surface burials they had also conducted included cremation, which was performed by burning the
corpse over a fire until the bones had charred into ash. When referring to sea burials, bodies of
fishermen would be wrapped in red cloth, then put in the ocean to be eaten by sharks. It was
believed that the essence of the fisherman would inhabit the shark s body (Redmond 4).
Burying individuals have impacted the people of ancient Hawaiians greatly. As in other

a strong leader or a stranger. This was no different for the Hawaiians, as death was a matter not
taken lightly. Even though emotion is common while observing burial, native Hawaiian had
taken it to another level. Relatives or close ones to the deceased person would tear away hair,
knock out teeth with a stone, scar their skin, or even cut off an ear, especially if the high chief
had passed (Fullard Leo). However, Hawaiians also saw a significance when a relative had been

The Battle of Bunker Hill Essay
The Battle of Bunker Hill The battle of Bunker s Hill was one of the most important battles during
the Revolutionary War. On June 17, 1775, the Battle of Bunker Hill took place. Fought during the
Siege of Boston, it lent considerable encouragement to the revolutionary cause. This battle made
both sides realize that this was not going to be a matter decided on by one quick and decisive
battle. The battle of Bunker Hillwas not just an unplanned, random attack on British soldiers
preformed by a few crazed colonists. The battle was the result of struggle and hostility between
Great Britain and the colonies for many years. The feelings of angst were due to the simple fact of
the taxes the British were placing on them combined with the... Show more content on

These were not the only incidents that caused unrest to exist between the Colonies and the British.
There had been incidents between British soldiers and colonists for some time, due mainly to the
Quartering Act. These incidents finally erupted into the Boston Massacre, an event that resulted in
colonists deaths and more distrust. These feelings of discontent and the growing fear of an uprising
would lead the British to proceed to Lexington and Concord and destroy colonial military supplies.
This left the colonists with the feeling of hatred and total malice towards the British. Neither side
trusted the other, and had concerns that the opposition would launch an attack upon them. When
the British planned to occupy Dorchester Heights on the Boston Peninsula, the colonists became
alarmed at the build up of British troops off the coast. The colonists decided that action had to be
taken; they had to stop the threatening British movement in this territory to protect them from an
attack.
It was because of this as well as the many small skirmishes through the years, which would lead the
colonies into a confrontation with the British. The Battle of Bunker Hill started when the colonists
learned about the British plan to occupy Dorchester Heights. The colonists were unnerved by this
news. They, the Colonists

Summary Of Too Many People Are Going To College
The standard way of thinking about college has often given the impression that education will open
doors. College is foretold to be the wisest choice a student can make to better their future with a
successful, high paying job. Yet Charles Murray, author of the article Too Many People Are Going
To College, introduces a controversial side to the argument, believing that the decision for students
to attend college is one of great importance, but the choice may be made too soon. Murray
emphasizes the reasons why this situation exists and continues to be proven true in today s society
with factors such as the misleading statements to students about college and the high academic
standards students must conform to. In discussions of Charles Murray, he expresses his opinion on
the thoughts and feelings that are being transferred to students before college, claiming them to be
misleading. Murray brings to light the problem that exists in the constant pushing of guidance
counselors, teachers, and even politicians to aspire for a college degree no matter what, treating
every failure to go to college as an injustice (Murray 48). Yet, by doing so, parents and students are
often blindsided by the overwhelming cost of college that many cannot afford, or the sheer amount
of education students would put themselves through for no reason at all. Murray observes that one
aspect of this phenomenon has been labeled misaligned ambitions, meaning that adolescents have
career ambitions that are inconsistent with their educational plans (Murray 48). Convincing
students that college is the only guiding light to a better life forces students to see college as such,
an intellectual heaven where they can become anything, such as a doctor or an attorney without
understanding the educational hurdles they must surmount to achieve their goal (Murray 48 49).
They then attend a four year universitywith the depiction of college as a place where B.A.s are
handed out fresh in their minds, thoughtless as to if that particular college they are attending even
has the educational requirements needed to complete their career goals (Murray 49). Unfortunately,
as Murray reminds us, this is the system that is in place. For a brutal fact

Cyber Mercenary Group Known As The Desert Falcons
Executive summary
The information within this report will give the reader an in depth look into the cyber mercenary
group known as the Desert Falcons . They operate out of the Middle East, particularly Palestine,
Egypt and Israel and are distinctly interested in the political and information landscape of their
region. The Desert Falcons display limited scope for attacks against major powers at this point in
time, rather, they concentrate their attacks on local power players. This includes local government
and military targets in addition to powerful individuals in the area. The group has been credited as
having had designed a native scripting language and being capable of complex social engineering
attacks. The information taken from the targets is usually of a sensitive or confidential nature and,
therefore, is used by Desert Falcons to blackmail the people and organisations the information was
taken from. The main technique used to gain this information is that of a Trojan virus embedded
within a social engineering attack that gains the trust of the victim before unloading the Trojan
virus s payload. Attacks against targets include high ranking military personnel, financial, media
and even government departments and pivotal personnel have been recognised as the Desert
Falcons because they have taken responsibility over them and have demanded ransoms for the
attacks. The Desert Falcons face several different limitations within their organisation. These
limitations stem

Mobile phones have improved a lot since it was first introduced and now nearly everyone owns
a mobile phone. It keeps you connected with friends, family and co workers. This is very good
in case of an emergency you can quickly contact someone for help and keeps you safe. A mobile
phone is packed with so much technology such as a music player, digital camera and even a GPS.
There are also disadvantages with this as it stops people socialising in real life. Many people do
get addicted to their mobile phones and forget how to connect with the real world because they
re too busy peeling away at their screens. Many people are so used to phones they ignore face to
face conversation for virtual ones which is a real disadvantage as it slows people down in the
real world. Same as a computer it can be hacked as many leave all their personal information on
one handy device as it is extremely convenient but also leaves a risk as someone might take their
phone and suddenly all your things are exposed without your recognition. It can also lead to
serious injuries as many people forget what they re doing whilst on their mobiles phones such as
crossing the road whilst being on their phone they might not see what s coming to them and also
whilst driving! Many addicted phone users can cause a lot of harm whilst using their phone when
driving as this puts not only themselves in danger but also the public.

Many times and in most cases, specifically in the article titled ABORTION by Jimmyissmart on oppapers.com, abortion is seen as an act of violence and inhumane murder. It is mainly for this reason why people who are anti abortion support their point of view. However, to murder the victim must first be alive, but what is the meaning of life? According to dictionary.com life is defined as the sum of the distinguishing phenomena of organisms, esp. metabolism, growth, reproduction and adaptation to environment. Hence, a fetus can not be alive because it lacks the ability to adapt to its environment, a fetus does not have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In some cases women who abort pregnancies do it because at that specific moment in their life they are just not ready for a baby but look forward to having one at a later date in their life. In the case that a responsible female takes the proper precautions by using a condom or taking a pill and still ends up with an unwanted pregnancy should she drop out of school get a job at McDonalds work for minimum wage and raise a baby in poverty or should she post pone her getting a baby get an education first then, when she is more capable to raise and manage a happy and healthy baby do so? Thirdly, Rape is a big excuse for people who are for abortion. Women who become pregnant through rape and even incest rape suffer the most severe form of emotional tragedy. Should they still go through with having that child even though they may be at a time in their life where a child may completely destroy their life and also the fact that, that child will be the embodiment of that one moment in their life that they try to forget? As a woman writing in the early 20th century, Woolf offers a unique voice that speaks both to her own fascinating life and to the historical moment in which she was writing. Woolf was born in 1882 in London, and throughout her life she had the opportunity to surround herself with London s elite thinkers. She began writing early and published her first novel, The Voyage Out, in 1915. She would go on to write numerous novels, short stories, and works of nonfiction. Some of her most influential writings include Orlando, A Room of One s Own, and Mrs. Dalloway. Throughout her life, Woolf suffered from nervous breakdowns and depression, and in 1941, having filled her jacket with stones, Woolf drowned herself in a river. Although Woolf s... These changes, combined with the human capacity for evil that was displayed during WWI, resulted in many artists believing that it was necessary to disregard traditional art forms and philosophies and to attempt to create new and revolutionary works of art. This revolutionary movement came to be known as modernism. Modernists were eager to experiment and attempted to complicate reality and how we believe that we understand reality. Woolf s own work reflects many of the ideals of the modernist movement. Her narration is defined by its stream of conscience quality; rather than having a fixed narrator with a fixed perspective, Woolf goes in and out of the minds of different characters, making unexpected connections that are not always clear or necessarily rational. As violence increased, schools started enforcing uniforms thinking that it would solve the violence. School uniforms were created in England in the 16th century for students referred to as the charity children (ProCon.org). In later centuries, high class schools were the most commonly known for requiring their students to wear uniforms. The first recorded time a public school in the US required uniforms was in 1987, a school in Maryland put out an optional uniformpolicy (ProCon.org). Uniforms have been being enforced by private schools for years, but now public schools are trying to enforce them. Students should not be required to wear uniforms because it refuses students the ability to express themselves, dress codes are more effective, and uniforms can cause a detrimental effect on self image. High schoolis a vital time in a child s life to discover who they are as an individual; expressing themselves through clothes is part of this process. If a student is required to wear a uniform everyday, that would create a lack of self expression. The First Amendment states that every human being in the United States is entitled to express themselves (Anderson). When students are forced to wear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

LLP is a partnership consisting of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners (p. 554). It was created to limit the personal liability of the partners of losing their personal assets to only their own acts and omissions and to the acts and omissions of people under their supervision (Nickels, McHugh, McHugh, 2013, p. 119). This business form also allows a partnership to continue as a pass through entity for tax purposes (Miller, 2014, p. 554). However, limited liability partnershipis not recognized as a legal business structure in every state, unlike the general partnership, In addition, taxing authorities in some states recognize the structure of LLP as a nonpartnership for tax purposes due to its special structure (Scott Media, n.d.). There is also a limited partnership, which has one or more general partners and one or more limited partners. One partner will be a general partner and has unlimited liability and is active in managing the firm whereas the limited partner will only invest money in the business but does not have any management responsibility or liability for losses beyond the investment. Old growth forest has more of a diverse tree structure with greatly varying tree heights and diameters, which makes better tree canopies. Tree canopies reduce the depth of snow on the ground by intercepting the snow. When there are low snow accumulating winters, deer prefer early successional forest. Early successional forest has smaller trees and shrubs and grasses, which makes it good food resources. 2.A. It is most important to conserve old forest growth as management policies for black tailed deer. Though the understory biomass in old growth stands is not as great as it is in early succession forest, old forest growth is more beneficial for deer in the winter. The People s Insurance Company Of Canada Name : Dolphine Bisase Id : 213349311 Assignment: Midterm Assignment, Management 3990 While the intention was that the People s Insurance Company of Canada (PICC) would have an organic organizational structure, this intention was at least partially offset by the close integration of the Insurance company with the parent People s Bank. The result was an entity in which the superficially organic, generally non hierarchical Insurance organization has been overridden by the highly hierarchical and mechanistic bank organization. Similarly, while the the emphasis of PICC is towards self managing teams, many approvals such as new purchases had to be signed off by multiple layers of the bank s management. • 29. Community Maintenance Plan Paper Revitalizing our neighborhoods is as important as getting people into homes. Broken neighborhoods with streets in need of repair, limited access to shopping areas, few job opportunities, and despair seeping around every corner is not good for either individuals or communities. I plan on using the Year of Giving as part of the plan to combat this. Our nation s youth will go into these areas and clean them up, plant gardens, and help support new services that I hope to bring to each of these areas. These communities will also be given priority in city maintenance plans. Targeting issues, such as repairing roads, water and sewer services, mass transit, and upgrading the electrical systems for more solar and wind initiatives. Getting jobs into these neighborhoods is also important. And the best way to do that is to encourage small businesses to set up shop in these areas. Low interest loans and other considerations will be given to people who wish to open a business, with priority given to those who are residents of that community. I would like to see city planners work with local residents to bring the kind of services and businesses each community needs to thrive. In The Miller s Tale , the poet Chaucer depicts the tale of a hende man and his attempt to tempt the primerole Alisoun to commit adultery and therefore render her husband, John a cokewold . The Miller s Tale is just one story amongst a collection of greater works known collectively as The Canterbury Tales . The placing of this tale is significant becomes it comes directly after the Knight s Tale revolving around nobility and chivalry and forms a direct contrast due to the fact it is bawdy, lewd and highly inappropriate. Short skirts in those days had connotations with prostitutes, the same as they do today. Among the many other physical details packed into the Miller s set piece description we learn that Alison has delicately plucked sloe black eyebrows; that she is tall and erect ( upright as a bolt ) and that her breath is sweet. Much of the account is taken up with an inventory of her clothes. These seem fairly expensive, but John evidently wishes her to spend on her wardrobe. I discovered my own cultural identity with the help of many aspects I have faced throughout my life. Culture is an important role in everyone s life. Culture can be discovered by seeing how different an individual is from someone else. It can also be seen even when you don t realize it. My familyhave been a major impact on discovering my cultural identity. My cultural identity would not exist if it weren t for previous experiences I have encountered up until this point. My cultural identity is involved in many aspects of my life because of how my family influences my culture, how my view on culture differs from everyone else, and how society views me. My family influences my culture by introducing me to new things from their culture. As I am growing up, I always think about how everything I have done in my life has led up to where I am as of now. Similarly, In the Springboard article, Ethnic Hash , written by Patricia J. Williams, she questions, What were the flavors, accents, and linguistic trills that were passed down to me over the ages? I like that my name was given to me by multiple family members who all worked together to find something that fits me perfectly. There are also many aspects of my culture that explain who I am. I grew up with my mom, so I mainly grew up around the filipino culture. I would have to say that food has to be one of the main aspects that have affected my culture. All my life, filipino food has been around and it helped me get to know part of my culture even better. The different foods introduced me to different flavors that are specific to their culture. The food can help explain who I am because it can determine what I do and don t like. As a result of my family s influences, I have been able to identify myself as who I am today. Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet played their parts to the best of their abilities and the best moments of the movie were when they were the only two in the scene. The others also played their parts well and if not for the outdated feel of the dialogue, it would almost seem as though all of it was something that had actually happened. If you are considering showing this to anyone studying Romeo and Juliet, you would be better off showing them any other movie. Students will not learn anything at all about the story by watching this as opposed to any other film adaptation. Although the movie remains somewhat faithful to the original Romeo and Juliet while adding an interesting twist to the story, there is almost no educational value to the movie. Placement of the bodies were in lava tubes, rock shelters, or hitches that contained several bodies inside. Burying the deceased in sand dunes or in earth was another common but preferred method. Majority of the sand dunes in Hawaii have some kind of history with burial (Kirch 240). Apart from buried in the earth, surface burials they had also conducted included cremation, which was performed by burning the corpse over a fire until the bones had charred into ash. When referring to sea burials, bodies of fishermen would be wrapped in red cloth, then put in the ocean to be eaten by sharks. • 41. Summary Of Too Many People Are Going To College The standard way of thinking about college has often given the impression that education will open doors. College is foretold to be the wisest choice a student can make to better their future with a successful, high paying job. Yet Charles Murray, author of the article Too Many People Are Going To College, introduces a controversial side to the argument, believing that the decision for students to attend college is one of great importance, but the choice may be made too soon. Murray emphasizes the reasons why this situation exists and continues to be proven true in today s society with factors such as the misleading statements to students about college and the high academic standards students must conform to. In discussions of Charles Murray, he expresses his opinion on the thoughts and feelings that are being transferred to students before college, claiming them to be misleading. Murray brings to light the problem that exists in the constant pushing of guidance counselors, teachers, and even politicians to aspire for a college degree no matter what, treating every failure to go to college as an injustice (Murray 48). Yet, by doing so, parents and students are often blindsided by the overwhelming cost of college that many cannot afford, or the sheer amount of education students would put themselves through for no reason at all. Murray observes that one aspect of this phenomenon has been labeled misaligned ambitions, meaning that adolescents have career ambitions that are inconsistent with their educational plans (Murray 48). Convincing students that college is the only guiding light to a better life forces students to see college as such, an intellectual heaven where they can become anything, such as a doctor or an attorney without understanding the educational hurdles they must surmount to achieve their goal (Murray 48 49). They then attend a four year universitywith the depiction of college as a place where B.A.s are handed out fresh in their minds, thoughtless as to if that particular college they are attending even has the educational requirements needed to complete their career goals (Murray 49).
