Mary Had Been Immaculately Conceived Without Original Sin
Roman Catholic Church proclaimed that Mary had been immaculately conceived without
original sin or its stain, which is a corrupt nature due to the original sin. This is call the doctrine
of the Immaculate Conception. It was officially defined by Pope Pius IX in 1854. The reference
for the doctrine is Luke 1:28. When Gabriel said to Mary that she was highly favored and blessed
among women, Mary herself was troubled and considered what such salutation meant. The angel
explained in verses 30 33 that such greeting was given because Godhad chosen her as the mother of
the messiah. The Catholics deduce the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception from the
interpretation of highly favored and blessed, which went too far from the context. It is not clear
why the Catholic Churchclaims such a strange doctrine. A Catholic priest argued that Mary should
be free from original sin so that Jesuscould be free from original sin and that God graciously and
miraculously made Mary without original sin. If Mary immaculate condition was necessary for
Jesus immaculateness, Mary s parents should have been immaculate. Or, if God... Show more

But a Rosary prayer titled the Salve Regina starts as; Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life

the Catholic Church says that the Churches developed their prayer to the holy Mother of God,
centering it on the person of Christ manifested in his mysteries. The Catholics do pray to Mary.
They made Mary a divine being. It is an idolatry. They call Mary the Mother of God as if she has
divinity. When Elisabeth greeted Mary saying the mother of my lord should come to me, Mary
replies, My spirit rejoices in God my savior. Mary knew that she was a human being who needed a

The Work Of Brameld, Horton, And Freire
Names associated with Social Reconstructionism include, among others, Theodore Brameld,
Myles Horton, Morris R. Mitchel, William O. Stanley, Paulo Freire, Ismail Hakki Tonguch, Neil
Postman, and Charles Weingartner. Each of these educational philosophers have greatly shaped
the reconstruction ideologies; however, for the purpose of this paper, it was considered to
analyze the work of Brameld, Horton, and Freire. Theodore Brameld (1904 1987) is considered
to be the founder of the social reconstruction movement. The Brameld s ideas to understand
human condition were nurtured by thinkers such as Freud and Marx, as well as by sociologists
such as W. L. Warner (Thomas, 1999). Brameld s ideologies were conceived through a
curriculum experiment conducted in a rural high school in Minnesota during 1944 to 1945 (Stone,
1995). In this experiment, called the Floodwood Project, Brameld cooperatively participated with
this high school s students and teachers to answer this question: What kind of a society do we, as
young citizens, want to build for tomorrow . The students, who participated in this study, drew
characteristics of an ideal society by working from their expectations and experiences about what a
good society should provide. Brameld developed during the next two decades the outcomes in sight
of: 1) determine values through an inductive approach, 2) social policy could be understood under
the consensus of the learning group, 3) indoctrinaction could be addressed by

Turkey Snooding Research Paper
Turkey are very family oriented. Female turkys care for their young when they are little and it
will be pain full to kill them if they have kids. Young tukey s know as poults and learn they learn
how to keep safe and how to survive from their mother so if like u were to hurt one the young
might die also and not survive. It is also very hard to tell for baby turkerkys how to tell mothers
figures. Many tukey s even those who have great cruelty at human s hands will happily sit for
hours having their feathers strouik. Loving Beatrice above a farmer farm turkey rescued by
Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, is a huge snugglebug despite having been mutilated by
humans as a baby. Susie Coston has worked with rescued farm animals for a while including many
many turkeys. Modern days tukey s have been bred to be so grotesquely large that even they can

higher early mortality. Debeaking is performed using sharp shears, a heated blade, or a high

Working While Attending High School
I think that it is inconvenient for adolescent to work while attending high school. Although the
really is that many adolescents are obtaining part time employment while in high school. According
Santrock (2014) It is estimated that 80 to 90 percent of adolescents are employed at some point
during high school(p.387). I do agree that there are some potentially positive influences. Some of
the advantageous that a working adolescent may experience are the development of autonomy,
social learning, and intergenerational harmony and contribute to the continuity between
adolescence and adulthood (Greenberger Steinberg, 1981. p.691). However, I believe that there are
much more disadvantages than advantageous. One of the disadvantages is that they may not have
time for school, family, and friends. An adolescent s first priority should be obtaining a higher
education. When they work they may place more emphasis on their employment instead of their
education. Also, they may become stressed out to fulfill their numerous commitments. They will
have to effectively balance their time to study and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are absent more and reported that they did not enjoy school as much. If an adolescent
works long hours it may affect them both physically and mentally (Larson, 2009, p.387). For
instance, one reason is they will have to balance their school obligations and work obligations.
One research study found that it was not just working, but the long hours that affected their
grades (Greenberger Steinberg, 1986. p.691). This can cause a great deal of stress in their life.
For instance, if an adolescent works at McDonalds waiting on customers they may feel stress in
ensuring that they meet the expected time frames and to provide customers with a quick and
accurate service. Exposure to job stress is related to alcohol and marijuana use for both boys and
girls (Greenberger Steinberg, 1986.

Revenge And Adultery In Le Morte D Arthur
Important reoccurring themes in Le Morte d Arthur are adultery, fate, revenge, people hiding their
true identity, (unanswered) love, quests and chivalry HIER OOK. In Le Morte d Arthur adultery is
one of the most important themes and Arthur has a lot to do with it. First of all he was born
because of adultery between his mother Igraine, who was actually married to the duke of Tintagil,
and his father King Uther Pendragon. Secondly he commits adultery himself with his sister, King
Lot s wife. Their child Mordredwill destroy him at the end of the book and so he is punished for
his sin. Thirdly Arthur s wife Guenever commits adultery with one of his knights, Launcelot. Fate is

For example, when Arthur sleeps with his sister Morgause and gets her pregnant with Mordred, he
dreams about serpents and dragons that wound him. Right before he gets killed by Mordred, he
dreams about them again, but this time they destroy him. Dragons and serpents, in this case,
symbolise destruction and the death of Arthur (NoodГ©n 1992). The white brachet that ran in
court with a lady on a palfrey and a hart is one of these symbols as well. In medieval times, the
brachet was a symbol for love, which is why Tor is sent to fetch the brachet rather than Gawaine
or Pellinore, as they are not capable of loving the way Tor is (Dagg 1969). Finally the Questing
Beast is an important animal symbol, symbolising a meaningless quest. Sir Pellinore has to hunt
it down, but it seems quite a useless thing to do. This symbolises the way he does other quests,
like when he has to find the lady of the hart and brachet and refuses to help another lady in need.
The quest he is doing is made useless because of that, as he is not being chivalrous. In this case the
Questing Beast is a reflection of Pellinore s personality (Dagg

Charlie-Personal Narrative
I sit on a scuffed wooden bench in the company of a lone stroller. Charlie is tucked inside,
sleeping peacefully. I woke up early this morning for no reason in particular. Perhaps I m
subconsciously still trying to make up for lost time, being with Charlie and soaking up as much
sunlight as possible. The entire town had longed for anything but a gray sky since the beginning
of winter and today was finally that day. Spring was coming. The last of the snow has slowly
melted away, along with everyone s puffy coats and holiday spirit. Although this morning began
quite nippy, any chill disappears as the sun rises higher in the sky. Today, I watch the small town

Summary Of Clare Boothe Luce s Speech
As society advances and the opinions of the general public change several press outlets work to
stay up to date with the changing times. However, in an attempt to stay modernized journalists
often times sacrifice their integrity to stay favorable in the public eye. These degrading actions,
often times sacrifice the true news for more appealing news. Clare Boothe Luce, American
journalist and politician, gives a controversial speech to the Women s National Press Club
condemning her female audience. Moreover, as a female addressing an audience of women she is
able to give her true opinion and is able to honestly critique her colleagues. She persuades her
audience by preparing them for the criticism by reiterating that she is the guest, by praising
journalism, and by logically providing reasoning that the journalistic view must change for the good
of the general public.
Luce begins her speech by expressing her happiness and excitement for being invited to be the
guest of honor at the Women s National Press Club. Expressing her happiness, she says she is
flattered and challenged by the opportunity to give her speech. However, as she continues her
introduction by repeating her introductory statement she alters it by saying that she is less happy
and more challenged than one might know. The slight change in her statement prepares her
audience for something that they may view as unpleasant, so that they do not feel shocked about
what they are about to hear. Not only is Clare Luce able to subtly communicate with her audience
but she is also able to provide signs that can help them better understand her purpose. Additionally,
in order to remind the audience that they asked for her opinion, Luce states that she did not offer to
give the speech rather she says you asked for it, reminding the audience that her opinion and
critique is exactly what they requested. The repetition of the nature of her speech allows Luce to
confirm that her audience is clear about her intentions with the speech that she is about to give.
As Luce continues her speech she softens her audience for the criticism by praising their careers
and their writings. Yet, she continues to provide warnings by retelling them that they are an

Essay On Vitiligo
The term vitiligo is derived from the latin word vitelius meaning calf . The white patches of the
disease resembles the white patches of a spotted calf resulting in the disease being called Vitiligo.
This is a disorder of the skin in which white patches will appear on the skin on different spots of
the body. The disease will happen to people because the melanocytes that make pigment in the skin
are destroyed. The history of Vitiligo dates way back and has many characteristics of the victim,
signs, and symptoms along with methods of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Many scientist
believe that Vitiligo was first discovered in 1500 B.C in Egypt. In The Ebers Papyrus, which is an
Egyptian medical papyrus dating to 1500 B.C, it describes two forms of depigmentation one being
depigmentation that resembled Vitiligo. Many centuries went by and vitiligo continued to be one
of the most important depigmentation ailments worldwide. It would provoke discrimination or
segregation in certain cultures where affected individuals were unable to get jobs or even become
married most probably based upon ancient religious beliefs. Around 1533 Andreas Vesalius called
the attention about the skin having two layers. Several decades later Jean... Show more content on

My Personal Life On My Life
Priorities When I began to contemplate the possibility to go back to school, I knew I had to
make some major changes in my personal life in order to make school a priority. I don t tend to
go out to social events often, because I prefer to relax in my place, spend time with my family
and go shopping. However, one day I was invited to an event and from that event, a lot of other
events followed. I became part of a social group that constantly were doing different activities all
the time. Facebook and Instagram crawled in, and I was spending too much of my time, trying to
keep up with everything that was going on. I knew that if I wanted to make schoola priority, I had to
separate myself from all the unnecessary social events, the people I was surrounding myself
with, and social media. Why? Because I tend to get distracted easily and at this moment of my
life, school is my number one priority. Professionally, I had to make a couple of changes in my
job regarding volunteer work that I was doing, which was taking my time and energy. I spoke to
my boss, and informed her that I was not able to continue doing the extra volunteer activities,
that I was doing. By doing this, I made my academic school work a priority. Academically, I

The authors also have different exigences for writing their autobiographies. Benjamin Franklin
wrote his autobiography to help citizens of America, and inform them on his life
accomplishments. Franklin wanted to help citizens prosper in their lives just like he did.
Franklin gives tips and lays out ways to be a better person throughout his autobiography. The
main example of his exigence is the virtues he explains. A few of the virtues Franklin explains
are, Order Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time.
Industry Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.
Tranquility Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable. Franklin
includes these virtues in his autobiography to provide the reader with ways to become a more
successful person in life. Franklin wanted to give readers of his autobiography an outline of how
to become successful in life through a few quick and easy steps. Olaudah Equiano s main
exigence or purpose for writing his autobiography is to provide the reader with knowledge of

The Effect Of Enzyme Concentration On Enzyme Lab
In this lab the effect of the enzyme concentration has on the speed of the reaction will be
observed. The amount of oxygen gas produced will be measured to determine the reaction rate. If
the enzyme concentration increases then the reaction rate will also increase. The measure of how
fats oxygen is produced will be how long it takes for the filter paper disk soaked in different
concentrations of catalaseto rise to the top. If catalase is exposed to boiling temperature then it will
denature.
Catalyst is a general term to represent anything that speeds up a reaction. A biological catalyst
speeds up chemical processes and cannot be used or changed in any way by the reaction. Catalase
is a common enzyme. It is found in almost all living organisms that use oxygen, like bacteria,
plants, and animals. Catalase is responsible for the degradation Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and
breaks it down into water (H2O) and oxygen (O), which are harmless to living organisms. This
way its main role is protecting the cell from damage caused by reactive oxygen species.
Hydrogen peroxide is a byproduct of reactions in our bodies. If it were allowed to build up it
would kill us. Enzyme are catabolic protein that speed up and regulate all chemical reactions within
a living organism. Enzymes lower the activation energy needed, allowing reactions to occur more
easily, quickly and more efficiently. Almost all biochemical reactions within living organisms need
enzymes. Enzymes are amino acids made from

Business Intelligence Is A Vital Part Of Keeping An...
Business intelligence is a vital part of keeping an organization competitive. Data mining processes
are essential to developing business intelligence. According to a study by IBM, 2.5 quintillion
bytes of data are created every day. This total includes everything from photos and social media
posts to word processing files, financial records and Snap chats. The objective of data miningis to
use the enormous amount of information being produced to understand trends, accumulate
additional new information, and develop better processes and services based on research, behavior,
and preferences
Data mining is defined as the examining of large databases of information in order to generate new
information. Nearly every transaction or interaction leaves a data signature that is captured and
stored. Data mining is a means of automating the process of analyzing the patterns of data according
to different categories. The information is then sorted, collected and assembled into data
warehouses for more efficient analysis by algorithms and used to facilitate business decisions.
Sophisticated mathematical algorithms are used to segment the data and evaluate the probability of
future events.
The major steps involved in a data mining process are to first extract, transform and load the data
into a data warehouse, then store and manage the data in databases; the data will then be given to
analysts to be processed using application software and finally the analyzed data will be presented

The Stop And Frisk Laws
The stop and frisk laws in New York City illustrate Max Weber s idea of the societal role of laws
because it shows how Weber distinguishes the law from things such as social norms and
customs. In other words, Weber believes that rather than create laws that conform to the norms
of society, they are made in accordance of the needs of a state. Weber defines law as coercive
order, an order that has the potential backing of the full force of the state, (Law, Status, Wealth,
and Power 110). A state can support the law with full support in order to protect what it was
made to protect. The stop and frisk laws are a great example of laws such as the ones that German
lawyer Max Weber described.
The idea of a stop and frisk is that a police officer can arrest a suspect only if they have enough
suspicion that someone has committed a crime. A stop is only allowed when a police officer
observes unusual conduct which leads him reasonably to conclude in light of his experience that
criminal activity may be afoot, (Toobin, TNY 2013). Some believe that the search and frisk law
itself is not the issue, but that the practice by police officers is what is at question. Constantly
targeting minorities is what the basis of the controversy behind this law is. As the numbers will
show in the rest of this essay, they are the ones who are being most frequently searched and this is
resulting in a high number of people who are against this law. There have been countless trials in

An Analysis Of Turner s Expectation Of Privacy
Although actions in the public are considered to have no reasonable expectation of privacy, we
forget that a home is considered everything including the curtilage that surrounds the home.
Therefore we need to take into consideration that the backyard and patio is essentially attached to
the home and can be considered to be apart of the curtilage associated with the home. Therefore,
by utilizing the R.E.P. two fold requirement where the first fold is: associated with Turner having
a reasonable expectation of privacy, there is an agreeing opinion. However, the second fold where
instead of concluding that society does not recognize Turner s expectation of privacy as
unreasonable, it is in fact according to societies standards, reasonable. Due

If soldiers weren t held accountable for property that they were issued, no one would have
anything. All soldiers are issued gear which they will need either down range or in the rear. Thus
they need to know where their equipment is. So they can use this equipment when they go to a
range to qualify, or rucking over ten miles. Little things such as canteens, PT belts, or even gloves
can help so much when that soldier needs it. But when it comes down to sensitive items, soldiers
are liable for them especially when it can mean life or death.
Property accountability comes down to one simple fact, if it s gone, you re screwed. Until you
can find it, you can t just stand around and wait for it to show up again. Soldiers who lose items
will have to eventually pay up to the Army. They even face the fact they will lose money for
something that could they should ve been able to prevent from being lost in the first place.
Soldiers cannot afford to lose property, especially soldiers who are brand new to a unit or just
coming out of basic training and advance individual training. When these new soldiers lose such
items, they will be held accountable and they will be branded as someone who doesn t keep track
of what they re doing. Plus they just started their own career, even if they don t plan on staying in
the Army.

Gender Double Standards For Children
Gender Double Standards for Children in Parenting
According to an analysis done by Seth Stephens Davidowitz, for every ten U.S. google search
requests about males being overweight, there are seventeen searches about girls being overweight,
but in reality, boys are nine percent more probable to being overweight than girls (Gonchar). There
are countless kinds of gender double standards in society, including the standards parents hold their
children to. It is no secret that parents dream for their daughters to be attractive and their sons to be
athletic. How else do these standards become apparent in a child s upbringing? In an investigative
paper, The Gender Double Standards in Parenting Attitudes, Meeso Caponi Ro, William G. Axinn,
and Linda Young DeMarco state, We differentiate dating, sex, and premarital cohabitationfrom
marital and childbearing behavior to investigate differences within the courtship and family
formation domain. (Axinn). There are different standards for boys and girls when it comes down to
relationships and sex as well. Parents tend to be more lenient when it comes to their boy s romantic
relationships and stricter with their daughters. A new study from Netmums reveals that 88 per cent
of mums admitted that they treated their sons and daughters differently despite thinking that this
was wrong. (The Gender). Parents don t want to admit they treat their kids differently, because then

Drones In Italy Research Paper
Italy illegaly filled an aincient roman catacomb with harmful waste Kilometers of ancient Roman
tunnels lying below a series of archaeological sites in Rome have slowly been filled up with
illegally dumped and highly toxic waste. Police made the discovery on Monday, in the ancient
caves beneath the archaeological park of Tor Fiscale on the outskirts of the city. Deep in the bowls
of the city they found the ancient network of caves have been filled with old refrigerators,
mattresses, sacks of rubble, electronics and even industrial waste. It s terribly damaging, not only
environmentally, but also for the city s archaeological heritage, police commander Antonio
DiMaggio told Rome daily, Il Messagero. We found everything: tar, industrial waste, tyres

It is thought local businesses and residents had been using the site to cheaply dispose of their
unwanted goods for years. Police discovered that unscrupulous dumpers had even drilled shafts
down into the caves below, which they used as chutes to quickly dispose of their unwanted goods.
The network of caves stretches under the edge of the Tor Fiscale park and runs next to the ancient
Roman highways, of the Appian Way and the Via Latina. Above ground, the area is home to the
spectacular remains of luxury villas, aqueducts, ancient and ancient tombs. The dangerous waste all
now lies in the caves and tunnels which were quarried by slaves into the Eternal city s bedrock.
The rock, known as Tufa, was a key ingredient in ancient Roman cement. Once quarried, certain
areas within the underground network became catacombs, places where the very first Christians of

Essays Programming Languages
Programming languages are a set of instructions or grammatical rules, which are used to make
applications and software on computers (Beal). There are many programming languages, which are
used extensively in modern day computer science, some of which are C++, Python, HTML,
FORTRAN, Ruby and Pascal. They were initially created by computer scientists to simplify
calculations and to perform repetitive tasks with ease. These languages are one of the core
components of a computer and they facilitate the creation and functioning of complicated
applications and softwares. Figure 1 Components of a computer (Source: Anthony)

Epidemiology: Chickenpox (Varicella)
As stated by to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) (CDC, 2013); chickenpox is a very
contagious disease caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV). VZV causes a primary infection
that is characterized by a rash with macules, papules, and then vesicles. Other symptoms include
fever, lethargy, and pruritus. VZV then remains in the body on the sensory nerve ganglia and can
reactivate as at a future time as shingles (Herpes Zoster). Chickenpox is spread through airborne,
droplet, and contact with infected fluids. Chickenpox is treated by treating the symptoms, and
preventing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prevention is the best defense against this agent, so the most effective way to break the chain of
infection is prevention through vaccination.
Determinants of Health
The determinants of health include the social and economic environment, the physical
environment, and the person s individual characteristics and behaviors (WHO, n.d.). Chickenpox
can have serious implications, especially in babies, adults, and people with compromised immune
systems. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS),
and pregnancy, are biological health status disparities that contribute to developing chickenpox and
increase the risk for complication. Complications such as dehydration, pneumonia, bleeding
problems, encephalitis, cerebellar ataxia, bacterial infections of the skin, and sepsis can occur.
Access to healthcare for treatment of preventative vaccination is impacted by socioeconomic status.
The ability to pay for or have transportation to access healthcare can make persons vulnerable to
disease. Furthermore, individual health behaviors contribute to patient adherence to treatment or
preventive vaccination. Some patients have fears, or concerns about the safety of vaccination, or
have cultural or spiritual beliefs that don t allow vaccination.
All determinants of health contribute to the development of this disease by increasing vulnerability
to transmission of the disease.

Minorities Dare To Lead In The Accounting Profession Essay
According to the latest US Census, Blacks or African Americans make up 13.6% (42,020,743) of
the total US population (308,745,538) but only 10.8% of the employed market and less than 9%
of those classified as Accountants and Auditors. (nabainc.org). According to Data USA, over
75% of the accounting profession was dominated by Whites or Caucasians and you ask what the
importance of minorities daring to lead in the accounting profession is? It is simple, there was a
time when we could not lead at all. There was a time in history when we could not lead let alone
enter the accounting profession which was simply an injustice. In fact, the very first black
woman to become a CPA, Ms. Mary T. Washington, did not earn her credential until 1943, when
CPA licensing had been around since 1896. For those reasons, minorities should dare to lead in
the accounting profession because there was a time when we could not lead and we could not
have a say. In addition, minorities should dare to lead because there was a time when we were not
recognized for what we could contribute to the profession. Caucasian CPA s... Show more content

Analysis Of The Documentary Blackfish Essay
Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite in the documentary, Blackfish (2013), argues that captivity
triggers aggression in killer whales. Cowperthwaite supports her argument by demonstrating
shocking footage and emotional interviews to present a convincing case against keeping these
animals in captivity and for human entertainment. The author s purpose is to show the problems
that are caused by captivity in order to aware the audience that keeping killer whales in captivity
affects their behavior mentally and physically. The author writes in resentful tone to Sea World, the
people who visited Sea World, and those who were present during the killer whaleincident. Gabriela
Cowperthwaite argues that keeping killer whales in captivity at SeaWorldaffects their mentality due
to how they are being treated. She makes this argument by applying pathos, ethos, and logos. In
beginning of the film, the appeal to pathos affects the audience as we listen to what these former
trainers have to say about how they became interested in the job and what made them realize that
a trainer was what they wanted to be. As a little kid each of these trainers were inspired by
commercials, TV channels, and visiting SeaWorld for the first time. It seems that this job is

Analysis Of The Sorrows Of Young Werther
The Sorrows of Young Werther Analysis
The Sorrows of Young Werther was an extraordinary reading and eye opening experience because it
changed the world around me and help me value my life s potential. One of the points that really
affected me throughout this reading was the conversation about the ethics of suicide. Another point
that struck me was Charlotte talking about the moonlight. Some of the characters also affected
me as well like, the flower seeker and the peasant lad. My last point is whose fault is it for
Werthers demise I just have to touch on this because this is such an interesting point because a lot
of people have different views. The ending of the novel is a logical conclusion based on Goethe s
use of foreshadowing.
In the letter of May 22, Werther foreshadows to suicide, by saying the sweet feeling of the liberty,
and knows that he can quit his prison whenever he likes. (Goethe. Pg 6) He has a conversation
with Albert about The ethics of suicide. Werther is saying that suicide is someone s passion to
do so because reasoning has failed to satisfy. Albert is debating that no one capable of a larger view
of life can be excused for committing suicide. I agree with both of them on Werther s side it s your
life if you want to end it and that is your desire even with help, by all means release yourself from
the prison of life. Albert has a good point of view as well he says because a man under the
influence of violent passion loses all power of reflection, and

The Battle of Midway Essay examples
Battle of Midway was a major naval battle, widely regarded as the most important one of the
Pacific Campaign of World War II.[3] It took place from June 4 to 7, 1942, approximately one
month after the Battle of the Coral Sea, five months after the Japanese capture of Wake Island, and
exactly six months to the day after Japan s attack on Pearl Harbor. The United States Navy
decisively defeated a Japanese attack against Midway Atoll.
Both sides sustained significant losses. Four Japanese aircraft carriers and a heavy cruiser were
sunk in exchange for one American aircraft carrier and a destroyer. The heavy losses permanently

did consider Midway vital; after the battle, establishment of a U.S. submarine base on Midway
extended submarine range 2,400 miles (3,900 km). An airstrip on Midway served as a forward
staging point for bomber attacks on Wake Island.[14] Midway Atoll, several months before the
battle. Eastern Island (with the airfield) is in the foreground, and the larger Sand Island is in the
background to the west.
Typical of Japanese naval planning during the Second World War, Yamamoto s battle plan was
quite complex.[15] Additionally, his designs were predicated on optimistic intelligence
information suggesting USS Enterprise and USS Hornet, forming Task Force 16, were the only
carriers available to the U.S. Pacific Fleet at the time. USS Lexington had been sunk and USS
Yorktown severely damaged (and believed by the Japanese to have been sunk) at the Battle of the
Coral Sea just a month earlier. The Japanese were also aware that USS Saratoga was undergoing
repairs on the West Coast after taking torpedo damage from a submarine.
More important, however, was Yamamoto s belief that the Americans had been demoralized by
their frequent defeats during the preceding six months. Yamamoto felt deception would be required
to lure the U.S. fleet into a fatally compromised situation.[16] To this end, he dispersed his forces
so that their full extent (particularly his battleships) would be unlikely to be discovered by the
Americans prior to battle. However, his

Moral Codes
Morality defines us , human beings, by setting the principle for what is right or wrong. The aura
surrounding morality delineates our values and our ability to make critical decisions. Moral
codes are the values that shape us as unique people and they are values that one stands by.
Without it, we would have outlawed thoughts and order in the world dissipates. Like others,
moral codes play a substantial role in my life and they dictate the decisions I make in everyday
life. Firstly, the idea that purging of one s life is unjust is a tenet that I have a strong stance on.
Despite the real world repercussions such as prison and a death sentence, the reason that I believe
in it is due to the barrage of guilt that I would feel. Whether it be a criminal or a person who I
despise, it doesn t vindicate the action of murder. In the heat of a moment, words will be exchanged
and tempers can spark but it should never reach that extent. Taking alternative means and avoiding

The Cultural Body In The Cultural Body
How does Melati Suryodarmo explore the Cultural Body in her performance art work? Through
this essay I am going to explore the Cultural Body in the works and career of Melati Suryodarmo.
In aid of my research and exploration I will consider two of the most influential artists during her
training and two of her works: Rindu, her first solo performance in 1996, and Ballad of
Treasures, performed in 2004. The Cultural Body in performance is the presentation of a person
or country s culture through the body. It could be shown through the interpretation or
performance of an art form that means something to the heritage of a country, civilisation or
period in time. Melati takes inspiration for her pieces from her experiences in the world and
uses them to express her pain and struggle of being a foreigner in Germany (Tsai, 2013) during
her training, the beginning of her career and her life following her move there with her husband.
She attempts to push through everyday experiences and present cultural and political encounters
that would stimulate the discovery of new identification . Melati produces a concentrated level of
nervous intensity, a bodily experience that does not have any narrative , which leads to a factual
absurdity outcome in the performance that is welcome in Suryodarmo s work (Pearl Lam
Galleries, undated). Melati trained with Anzu Furukawa, an expert Butoh dance professor, and
Marina Abramović to gain her experience in performance art while she lived in Germany during
the 1990s. Following her training, Melati has gone on to present her works at many international
festivals and exhibitions around the globe; and since 2007 has organised an annual performance
art event, Undisclosed Territory, and a Performance Art Laboratory in Indonesia. Melati, despite not
originally choosing performance art as her career path, now finds that using un verbalised
communication opens the door to the different forms of perception and the mind s freedom to
interpret these inputs is a fascinating area of research which Melati is very fond of (Pearl Lam

Darwin s Theory Of Evolution
Another issue is that Darwin s theory has many holes the scientists are unable to fill. These holes
are obvious in Dwain s theory of evolution. Craig Belanger works for EBSCO Publishing he stated
in his Biography of Charles Darwin, which was found on the TRC database under Book Collection
Nonfiction: High School Edition Belanger said that,
Although there are many facets to Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection, at its core is
the idea that a species ability to evolve is based on its natural selection of traits that enable
survival, while traits which interfere with survival are gradually weeded out during the process of
reproduction. This process of selection has come to be equated with survival of the fittest, a term
which Darwin did not coin and which did not appear in his own work until later editions of On the
Origin of Species. (Belanger)
This idea that evolution happens through natural selection of the traits that evolve and are weeded
out through reproduction is not always true, not all animals that evolve, or humans for that matter
pass on the best traits because some aren t all that great. Here are some examples to prove this;
they came from a researcher for the Berkeley evolution section from their article titled,
Misconception of Evolution under the subheading Misconception: Natural selection is the survival
of the very fittest individuals in a population. The article says that for example, a plant may not
have the genes to flourish in a

Empowerment Is The Decision Making Process Essay
Introduction The empowerment in query can describe to the employees, the front line managers
and supervisors, or to the association as a being, the empowered organization. These alternative
revolve around unitary eloquence for integrating the interests and efforts of both employers and
employees with the impersonation that low level employees can contribute to management
decisions and in so doing improve the performance of the organization. In the past decade, business
practitioners and organizational researchers have attached concept of empowerment in the
workplace. Even, until at present, the literature has lacked unity on a definition or
operationalization of empowerment in the workplace. In summary, empowerment is the
management behavior where managers share with the rest of the organizational members their
impact in the decision making procedure that is to say, the cooperation in the decision making
process is not whereabouts to the position with formal capacity with particular characteristics such
as information systems, training, rewarding, power sharing, leadership style and organizational

Listeria Monocytogene Essay
Prior to the cantaloupe outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes, there were no previous incidents
with Jensen Farms foods. On September 8th, the CDPHE; and on September 9th, 2011, the
FDA collected and tested samples from grocery stores where the ill people reported buying
cantaloupe, after the first incident on September 2nd (CDC 2012b). The FDA found that 9 of 10
cantaloupes tested positive for L. monocytogenes (FDA 2012). Then on the 10th of September,
the CDPHE and the FDA visited Jensen Farms to test the production facility (CDC 2012b). 39
samples were taken from various points across the production line including conveyer belts and
packing sheds, and 13 tested positive (FDA 2012). No positive tests were found in the field, on in

From September 24th to October 6th, grocery stores from across the United States, including
New York and Kansas remove mixed cut fruit containers from shelves (CDC 2012b). When the
outbreak was deemed over, the CDC (2012b) advises consumers to eat melon right away or
refrigerate it; once it is cut, melon should stay in the refrigerator no longer than 7 days; and to
discard melon that has been left at room temperature for longer than 4 hours. The FDA (2012)
then reminds people that since L. monocytogenes can grow at 4В°C, keeping foods in the
refrigerator for extended periods of time can allow for it to grow. It is advised that the consumer
wash their hands before and after handling food for at least 20 seconds with warm water and
soap, to clean up spills in the refrigerator immediately, and to wash the inside of the refrigerator,
cutting boards, and countertops regularly with hot water and one tablespoon of chlorine bleach,
and then wiped down with a dry and clean towel or cloth (FDA 2012). A lesson to be taken away
from this outbreak is that an outbreak can happen on any farm, and that safety should always be a

Examples Of Anti Transcendentalism
Transcendentalism Vs. Anti Transcendentalism Transcendentalism, which emerged during the early
1800 s, was a revolutionary turn in American literature. Transcendentalism is an ideology that
highlights man s purpose and relationship with nature and the over soul, or God. Anti
Transcendentalism objects this ideology and focusses on the flaws of man and his evil effect on
society. Both Transcendentalismand Anti Transcendentalism focus on the reason for man s
existence and his impact on society. Even though Transcendentalism and Anti Transcendentalism
both focus man s association with society and core purpose of his existence, they disagree on the
details of these ideas. Transcendentalists believe that man is good and can maintain this goodness
by having a strong bond with the over soul. Transcendentalists think that society is bad and is the
reason for all of the evil in the world. In an excerpt from Ralph Waldo... Show more content on

Transcendentalists believe it is only through nature that you can achieve your highest level of peace
and deepest connection with the over soul. This is described in Ralph Waldo Emersons Self
Reliance when Emmerson says, the power which resides in [a man] is new in nature. This shows
the deep interdependence between nature and man. Transcendentalists consider the life too
precious to give up to stress. Stress can also be caused by clutter and the busy aspects of life. In
Walden , by Henry David Thoreau, Thoreau explains that he purchased a house two miles from the
village, half a mile from the nearest neighbor, and separated from the highway. (Thoreau 408) This
shows Transcendentalists fascination and respect for reclusion and peace. They do not correlate
seclusion with loneliness. Transcendentalists see seclusion as a time to self reflect and connect with

Kierkegaard
Kierkegaard, in Works of Love uses 1 Cor. 8:1 Love builds up as a starting point to discuss how
love can be discussed.
He begins his discussion by recognizing that to build up is a transferred expression that has both a
general and spiritual meaning. In the general sense, Kierkegaard says that to build up is to
construct something from the ground up into the heights (201). It is not just to build, but to build
from the foundation, from the ground, up. He provides the example of the parable of the wise and
foolish builders, the one of whom builds his house without a foundation while the other does build
from the foundation up. A key part of what to build up means to Kierkegaard is that it is built on
something, a foundation. This is what he means when discussing to build up in the general sense. ...

This, as with all sins, separates them from others and from God. Fairlie describes pride as puffed
up, stuck up, stiff necked...superiors...aloof (Fairlie 41). It is when the soul is inordinately pleased
with itself (Fairlie 41). Love as building up helps combat the sin of pride in a person because it
forces the prideful to acknowledge that there is love in other people, placed there by God. If the
person who has a tendency toward pride makes this presupposition about others, then it becomes
difficult to maintain the sin of pride. The presupposition of love in another affirms that they too are
a person of value, and this alone helps to combat pride, which considers others as less than.

My Experience With My Grandfather
My Grandfather s Lessons I remember when I was young, I loved fishing with my Grandfather
because he was an amazing man who always cared for his family. It was one of the most exciting
things I did as a kid because I felt like I was bonding with my grandfather. He was always fun to
be around when he made jokes, played around, and taught me life lessons. Reeling in fishes was
an accomplishment for me and my grandfather even if it was just one, we found it as if we did
something great together. I remember sitting in the boat with him one Saturday morning as we
were waiting to catch a fish. The weather was chilly 55 degrees as I recall. He was wearing his
same old fishing gear [black rain boots with old 49ers hat and a white tee shirt with dark blue
pants]. The sun was barely rising and I felt amazing, the scenery was beautiful I could see the
orange/redness light of the sun rising. The boat was an old boat, but I could tell because of the
green fading away on both sides, wasn t to big ether just enough to fit 3 adults and the motor
looked as if it was worn out. When I was there I didn t understand why the fishes weren t biting, I
was contemplating if the worms were good. As the time passed me and my grandfather didn t
say much, I felt odd by it because we usually spoke, but this time I could feel it was different. I
could not understand why he was so quiet, and as I was about to speak my grandfather told me

Gilman s The 19th Century
Gilman s audiences in the 19th century were bizarre to read such a book like Herland. Nobody
really expected to read a novel about a world of only women and given male abilities. Women s
lives in the 19th century were not always as easy. They faced inequality, abuse, expectations and
stereotypes. Gilman did not just wanted to write Herland for women, but wanted both genders to
treat each other equally and have respect. It s sadly to say but the stereotypes, unequally and
expectations for women are still happing in our world today. We made some achievements through
out the years but are still struggling to fight that equality that Gilman wanted in the 19th century.
Gilman wanted her audience during the 19th century to see in the eyes of the characters Terry, Jeff
and Vandyke as they go through their journey to womentopia. They become shock when they
discuss the physical features of the women. They see what is totally unacceptable in their culture,
Women with short hair, muscular features, farming and climbing up trees. They see it as
unwomanly like and discuss with the women how they are supposed to act, dress and know their
expectations in their world. The women s became bizarre how they are treated in the real world
and explain to the men that they don t need men in their world to be happy. Gilman wanted to her
audience to understand that women were seen as inhumanly and their life were very difficult
making them feel that they were owned just like a object.

Diffusion And Interstitial Fluids In The Human Body
The body is composed of fluids. Those fluids are distributed between the intracellular fluid (ICF)
and extracellular fluid (ECF). The intracellular is the larger compartment composed of about 40%
of the body s fluids consisting of fluids and cells. The extracellular compartment is the smaller
making up for approximately 20% of the space. This compartment holds bloodplasma, interstitial
fluids, and balances electrolytes such as sodium and chloride. The ECF can be divided up into the
transcellular, vascular, and interstitial. The transcellular is also known as third space and is fluid
not ready to be exchange. The vascular compartment is composed of blood which transports
electrolytes, gases, nutrients, and waste products. The interstitial... Show more content on

dextrose are specifically intended for calorie administration. Dextrose combined with the
hypertonic solution helps balance the fluids in the body and brings levels back to normal. Fluid

and need to be monitored closely when hypertonic fluids are

The Pharmacy Is Not Only A Source Of Medications But Of...
The pharmacy is not only a source of medications but of education and technology use.
The pharmacy plays a crucial role in the hospital because without it, physicians and nurses wouldn t
be able to treat their patients effectively.
The pharmacy is essential to the treatment of disease, since the pharmacy is the site where both
intravenous and pill medications such as chemotherapy and antibiotics are made and dispensed
according to what patient needs. At the hospital, the pharmacy takes care of both inpatients and
outpatients for both prescriptions and over the counter medications. Those who work at the
pharmacy also educated patients and healthcare workers about the side effects of medications,
which medications can be mixed and, especially for stronger medications, the known risks of
taking them. These educational measures are performed to prevent overdose, the inappropriate
use of medications, such as antibiotics, and to give the patients as to what is normal and to be
expected from taking a medication and what symptoms should raise a cause of concern. One way
this duty is performed is by rounds. A round is where the pharmacist along with other doctors such
as a dietitian, social worker, physical therapist, speech therapist, the attending nurse, and the
primary physician, as well as any other specialist whose expertise may be in need, get together to
discuss a group of patients and what is being done about their care and how it can be improved.

Benefits Of Good Oral Hygiene Essay
Introduction
The advantages of good oral hygiene can help prevent existing and prevalent dental problems,
primarily plaque and calculus, which are the major causes of caries (cavities) and tooth decay.
Dental caries are not only found in the adolescent population, but are also found in adults, due to
gums receding throughout the aging process. This exposes the roots of teeth to the different
types of bacteria that cause plaque and tooth decay. To be sure, seniors with poor health are no
exception to dental caries and are often the most affected due to low fluoride use and/or poor oral
care during adolescence. However, while dental caries and tooth decay are the most prominent
topics of oral health, there is also a close connection association between poor dental care and
overall health. Poor oral health can cause severe consequences in people with cardiovascular
disease (CHD) due to the bacteria and periodontal diseases found in gums that enter the bloodstream
and thus, into the heart, causing atherosclerosis. Another outcome of poor dental care is the
increased risk of bacteria from gingivitis, called spirochetes, entering the brain through the
bloodstream. This can eventually lead to the progression of Alzheimer s disease or dementia.
Periodontal disease and gum inflammation the inflammation of gums can also interfere with blood
sugar levels and can cause symptoms to rise in diabetic patients. In addition, the increased risk of
respiratory infections like pneumonia, which

Children Of Men Film Analysis
As the protagonists go through many difficulties to accomplish their ambition they use many
different ways to travel that help establish the mood of the film. Although the means of travel
help establish the mood in both films, the particular means of travel differ, which gives the two
films different moods. In Children of Men, there are several different ways the characters get
from one place to another. Some examples include driving in a car or bus, and traveling by boat.
However, whenever the characters go from places to places they pass through depressing areas,
such as war zones or run down immigrant areas. In addition, each time they travel someone either
dies, or another highly depressing event happens. When Theo, Kee, Julian, and Mariam are
traveling by car to get somewhere safe, they are ambushed, and Julian is shot. In the middle of the
film, Theo, Kee, and the midwife are transported by bus to a refugee camp, where there are
people getting off the buses being stripped of their clothes. Finally, at the end of the film when
Theo, Kee, and the baby are traveling by boat in the filthy water Theo gets shot and dies, leaving
Kee and her baby to be rescued by The Human Project. In each case, the setting sets up the
depressing mood when they travel, but the worst events of people dying and horrible images
happen during the time the characters are traveling. On the contrary, in Up, Carl travels to Paradise
Falls by getting his house to float in the sky by attaching tens of

  • 2. Mary Had Been Immaculately Conceived Without Original Sin Roman Catholic Church proclaimed that Mary had been immaculately conceived without original sin or its stain, which is a corrupt nature due to the original sin. This is call the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. It was officially defined by Pope Pius IX in 1854. The reference for the doctrine is Luke 1:28. When Gabriel said to Mary that she was highly favored and blessed among women, Mary herself was troubled and considered what such salutation meant. The angel explained in verses 30 33 that such greeting was given because Godhad chosen her as the mother of the messiah. The Catholics deduce the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception from the interpretation of highly favored and blessed, which went too far from the context. It is not clear why the Catholic Churchclaims such a strange doctrine. A Catholic priest argued that Mary should be free from original sin so that Jesuscould be free from original sin and that God graciously and miraculously made Mary without original sin. If Mary immaculate condition was necessary for Jesus immaculateness, Mary s parents should have been immaculate. Or, if God... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Catechism 2675 of the Catholic Church says that the Churches developed their prayer to the holy Mother of God, centering it on the person of Christ manifested in his mysteries. The Catholics do pray to Mary. They made Mary a divine being. It is an idolatry. They call Mary the Mother of God as if she has divinity. When Elisabeth greeted Mary saying the mother of my lord should come to me, Mary replies, My spirit rejoices in God my savior. Mary knew that she was a human being who needed a savior. • 3. The Work Of Brameld, Horton, And Freire Names associated with Social Reconstructionism include, among others, Theodore Brameld, Myles Horton, Morris R. Mitchel, William O. Stanley, Paulo Freire, Ismail Hakki Tonguch, Neil Postman, and Charles Weingartner. Each of these educational philosophers have greatly shaped the reconstruction ideologies; however, for the purpose of this paper, it was considered to analyze the work of Brameld, Horton, and Freire. Theodore Brameld (1904 1987) is considered to be the founder of the social reconstruction movement. The Brameld s ideas to understand human condition were nurtured by thinkers such as Freud and Marx, as well as by sociologists such as W. L. Warner (Thomas, 1999). Brameld s ideologies were conceived through a curriculum experiment conducted in a rural high school in Minnesota during 1944 to 1945 (Stone, 1995). In this experiment, called the Floodwood Project, Brameld cooperatively participated with this high school s students and teachers to answer this question: What kind of a society do we, as young citizens, want to build for tomorrow . The students, who participated in this study, drew characteristics of an ideal society by working from their expectations and experiences about what a good society should provide. Brameld developed during the next two decades the outcomes in sight of: 1) determine values through an inductive approach, 2) social policy could be understood under the consensus of the learning group, 3) indoctrinaction could be addressed by ... Although the really is that many adolescents are obtaining part time employment while in high school. According Santrock (2014) It is estimated that 80 to 90 percent of adolescents are employed at some point during high school(p.387). I do agree that there are some potentially positive influences. Some of the advantageous that a working adolescent may experience are the development of autonomy, social learning, and intergenerational harmony and contribute to the continuity between adolescence and adulthood (Greenberger Steinberg, 1981. p.691). However, I believe that there are much more disadvantages than advantageous. One of the disadvantages is that they may not have time for school, family, and friends. An adolescent s first priority should be obtaining a higher education. When they work they may place more emphasis on their employment instead of their education. Also, they may become stressed out to fulfill their numerous commitments. They will have to effectively balance their time to study and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One research study found that it was not just working, but the long hours that affected their grades (Greenberger Steinberg, 1986. p.691). This can cause a great deal of stress in their life. For instance, if an adolescent works at McDonalds waiting on customers they may feel stress in ensuring that they meet the expected time frames and to provide customers with a quick and accurate service. Revenge And Adultery In Le Morte D Arthur Important reoccurring themes in Le Morte d Arthur are adultery, fate, revenge, people hiding their true identity, (unanswered) love, quests and chivalry HIER OOK. In Le Morte d Arthur adultery is one of the most important themes and Arthur has a lot to do with it. First of all he was born because of adultery between his mother Igraine, who was actually married to the duke of Tintagil, and his father King Uther Pendragon. Secondly he commits adultery himself with his sister, King Lot s wife. Their child Mordredwill destroy him at the end of the book and so he is punished for his sin. For example, when Arthur sleeps with his sister Morgause and gets her pregnant with Mordred, he dreams about serpents and dragons that wound him. Right before he gets killed by Mordred, he dreams about them again, but this time they destroy him. Dragons and serpents, in this case, symbolise destruction and the death of Arthur (NoodГ©n 1992). The white brachet that ran in court with a lady on a palfrey and a hart is one of these symbols as well. In medieval times, the brachet was a symbol for love, which is why Tor is sent to fetch the brachet rather than Gawaine or Pellinore, as they are not capable of loving the way Tor is (Dagg 1969). Finally the Questing Beast is an important animal symbol, symbolising a meaningless quest. Sir Pellinore has to hunt it down, but it seems quite a useless thing to do. This symbolises the way he does other quests, like when he has to find the lady of the hart and brachet and refuses to help another lady in need. The quest he is doing is made useless because of that, as he is not being chivalrous. In this case the Questing Beast is a reflection of Pellinore s personality (Dagg ... The entire town had longed for anything but a gray sky since the beginning of winter and today was finally that day. Spring was coming. The last of the snow has slowly melted away, along with everyone s puffy coats and holiday spirit. Although this morning began quite nippy, any chill disappears as the sun rises higher in the sky. • 9. Summary Of Clare Boothe Luce s Speech As society advances and the opinions of the general public change several press outlets work to stay up to date with the changing times. However, in an attempt to stay modernized journalists often times sacrifice their integrity to stay favorable in the public eye. These degrading actions, often times sacrifice the true news for more appealing news. Clare Boothe Luce, American journalist and politician, gives a controversial speech to the Women s National Press Club condemning her female audience. Moreover, as a female addressing an audience of women she is able to give her true opinion and is able to honestly critique her colleagues. She persuades her audience by preparing them for the criticism by reiterating that she is the guest, by praising journalism, and by logically providing reasoning that the journalistic view must change for the good of the general public. Luce begins her speech by expressing her happiness and excitement for being invited to be the guest of honor at the Women s National Press Club. Expressing her happiness, she says she is flattered and challenged by the opportunity to give her speech. However, as she continues her introduction by repeating her introductory statement she alters it by saying that she is less happy and more challenged than one might know. The slight change in her statement prepares her audience for something that they may view as unpleasant, so that they do not feel shocked about what they are about to hear. Not only is Clare Luce able to subtly communicate with her audience but she is also able to provide signs that can help them better understand her purpose. Additionally, in order to remind the audience that they asked for her opinion, Luce states that she did not offer to give the speech rather she says you asked for it, reminding the audience that her opinion and critique is exactly what they requested. The repetition of the nature of her speech allows Luce to confirm that her audience is clear about her intentions with the speech that she is about to give. As Luce continues her speech she softens her audience for the criticism by praising their careers and their writings. Yet, she continues to provide warnings by retelling them that they are an ... The measure of how fats oxygen is produced will be how long it takes for the filter paper disk soaked in different concentrations of catalaseto rise to the top. If catalase is exposed to boiling temperature then it will denature. Catalyst is a general term to represent anything that speeds up a reaction. A biological catalyst speeds up chemical processes and cannot be used or changed in any way by the reaction. Catalase is a common enzyme. It is found in almost all living organisms that use oxygen, like bacteria, plants, and animals. Catalase is responsible for the degradation Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and breaks it down into water (H2O) and oxygen (O), which are harmless to living organisms. This way its main role is protecting the cell from damage caused by reactive oxygen species. Hydrogen peroxide is a byproduct of reactions in our bodies. If it were allowed to build up it would kill us. Enzyme are catabolic protein that speed up and regulate all chemical reactions within a living organism. Data mining processes are essential to developing business intelligence. According to a study by IBM, 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created every day. This total includes everything from photos and social media posts to word processing files, financial records and Snap chats. The objective of data miningis to use the enormous amount of information being produced to understand trends, accumulate additional new information, and develop better processes and services based on research, behavior, and preferences Data mining is defined as the examining of large databases of information in order to generate new information. Nearly every transaction or interaction leaves a data signature that is captured and stored. Data mining is a means of automating the process of analyzing the patterns of data according to different categories. The information is then sorted, collected and assembled into data warehouses for more efficient analysis by algorithms and used to facilitate business decisions. Sophisticated mathematical algorithms are used to segment the data and evaluate the probability of future events. The major steps involved in a data mining process are to first extract, transform and load the data into a data warehouse, then store and manage the data in databases; the data will then be given to analysts to be processed using application software and finally the analyzed data will be presented ... • 17. The Stop And Frisk Laws The stop and frisk laws in New York City illustrate Max Weber s idea of the societal role of laws because it shows how Weber distinguishes the law from things such as social norms and customs. In other words, Weber believes that rather than create laws that conform to the norms of society, they are made in accordance of the needs of a state. Weber defines law as coercive order, an order that has the potential backing of the full force of the state, (Law, Status, Wealth, and Power 110). A state can support the law with full support in order to protect what it was made to protect. The stop and frisk laws are a great example of laws such as the ones that German lawyer Max Weber described. The idea of a stop and frisk is that a police officer can arrest a suspect only if they have enough suspicion that someone has committed a crime. A stop is only allowed when a police officer observes unusual conduct which leads him reasonably to conclude in light of his experience that criminal activity may be afoot, (Toobin, TNY 2013). Some believe that the search and frisk law itself is not the issue, but that the practice by police officers is what is at question. Constantly targeting minorities is what the basis of the controversy behind this law is. She feels useless because she realizes that the house is able to do everything better than she can. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), and pregnancy, are biological health status disparities that contribute to developing chickenpox and increase the risk for complication. Complications such as dehydration, pneumonia, bleeding problems, encephalitis, cerebellar ataxia, bacterial infections of the skin, and sepsis can occur. My last point is whose fault is it for Werthers demise I just have to touch on this because this is such an interesting point because a lot of people have different views. The ending of the novel is a logical conclusion based on Goethe s use of foreshadowing. In the letter of May 22, Werther foreshadows to suicide, by saying the sweet feeling of the liberty, and knows that he can quit his prison whenever he likes. (Goethe. Pg 6) He has a conversation with Albert about The ethics of suicide. Werther is saying that suicide is someone s passion to do so because reasoning has failed to satisfy. Albert is debating that no one capable of a larger view of life can be excused for committing suicide. I agree with both of them on Werther s side it s your life if you want to end it and that is your desire even with help, by all means release yourself from the prison of life. The United States Navy decisively defeated a Japanese attack against Midway Atoll. Both sides sustained significant losses. Eastern Island (with the airfield) is in the foreground, and the larger Sand Island is in the background to the west. Typical of Japanese naval planning during the Second World War, Yamamoto s battle plan was quite complex.[15] Additionally, his designs were predicated on optimistic intelligence information suggesting USS Enterprise and USS Hornet, forming Task Force 16, were the only carriers available to the U.S. Pacific Fleet at the time. USS Lexington had been sunk and USS Yorktown severely damaged (and believed by the Japanese to have been sunk) at the Battle of the Coral Sea just a month earlier. The Japanese were also aware that USS Saratoga was undergoing repairs on the West Coast after taking torpedo damage from a submarine. More important, however, was Yamamoto s belief that the Americans had been demoralized by their frequent defeats during the preceding six months. The aura surrounding morality delineates our values and our ability to make critical decisions. Moral codes are the values that shape us as unique people and they are values that one stands by. Without it, we would have outlawed thoughts and order in the world dissipates. Like others, moral codes play a substantial role in my life and they dictate the decisions I make in everyday life. Firstly, the idea that purging of one s life is unjust is a tenet that I have a strong stance on. Despite the real world repercussions such as prison and a death sentence, the reason that I believe in it is due to the barrage of guilt that I would feel. Whether it be a criminal or a person who I despise, it doesn t vindicate the action of murder. • 39. The Cultural Body In The Cultural Body How does Melati Suryodarmo explore the Cultural Body in her performance art work? Through this essay I am going to explore the Cultural Body in the works and career of Melati Suryodarmo. In aid of my research and exploration I will consider two of the most influential artists during her training and two of her works: Rindu, her first solo performance in 1996, and Ballad of Treasures, performed in 2004. The Cultural Body in performance is the presentation of a person or country s culture through the body. It could be shown through the interpretation or performance of an art form that means something to the heritage of a country, civilisation or period in time. Melati takes inspiration for her pieces from her experiences in the world and uses them to express her pain and struggle of being a foreigner in Germany (Tsai, 2013) during her training, the beginning of her career and her life following her move there with her husband. She attempts to push through everyday experiences and present cultural and political encounters that would stimulate the discovery of new identification . Melati produces a concentrated level of nervous intensity, a bodily experience that does not have any narrative , which leads to a factual absurdity outcome in the performance that is welcome in Suryodarmo s work (Pearl Lam Galleries, undated). Melati trained with Anzu Furukawa, an expert Butoh dance professor, and Marina AbramoviД‡ to gain her experience in performance art while she lived in Germany during the 1990s. Following her training, Melati has gone on to present her works at many international festivals and exhibitions around the globe; and since 2007 has organised an annual performance art event, Undisclosed Territory, and a Performance Art Laboratory in Indonesia. Melati, despite not originally choosing performance art as her career path, now finds that using un verbalised communication opens the door to the different forms of perception and the mind s freedom to interpret these inputs is a fascinating area of research which Melati is very fond of (Pearl Lam Galleries, undated). Melati, an Indonesian born artist based in Germany, creates performances that have strong cultural, social and political aspects, with many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Darwin s Theory Of Evolution Another issue is that Darwin s theory has many holes the scientists are unable to fill. These holes are obvious in Dwain s theory of evolution. Craig Belanger works for EBSCO Publishing he stated in his Biography of Charles Darwin, which was found on the TRC database under Book Collection Nonfiction: High School Edition Belanger said that, Although there are many facets to Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection, at its core is the idea that a species ability to evolve is based on its natural selection of traits that enable survival, while traits which interfere with survival are gradually weeded out during the process of reproduction. This process of selection has come to be equated with survival of the fittest, a term which Darwin did not coin and which did not appear in his own work until later editions of On the Origin of Species. (Belanger) This idea that evolution happens through natural selection of the traits that evolve and are weeded out through reproduction is not always true, not all animals that evolve, or humans for that matter pass on the best traits because some aren t all that great. Here are some examples to prove this; they came from a researcher for the Berkeley evolution section from their article titled, Misconception of Evolution under the subheading Misconception: Natural selection is the survival of the very fittest individuals in a population. The article says that for example, a plant may not have the genes to flourish in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Transcendentalism is an ideology that highlights man s purpose and relationship with nature and the over soul, or God. Anti Transcendentalism objects this ideology and focusses on the flaws of man and his evil effect on society. Both Transcendentalismand Anti Transcendentalism focus on the reason for man s existence and his impact on society. Even though Transcendentalism and Anti Transcendentalism both focus man s association with society and core purpose of his existence, they disagree on the details of these ideas. He begins his discussion by recognizing that to build up is a transferred expression that has both a general and spiritual meaning. In the general sense, Kierkegaard says that to build up is to construct something from the ground up into the heights (201). It is not just to build, but to build from the foundation, from the ground, up. He provides the example of the parable of the wise and foolish builders, the one of whom builds his house without a foundation while the other does build from the foundation up. Nobody really expected to read a novel about a world of only women and given male abilities. Women s lives in the 19th century were not always as easy. They faced inequality, abuse, expectations and stereotypes. Gilman did not just wanted to write Herland for women, but wanted both genders to treat each other equally and have respect. It s sadly to say but the stereotypes, unequally and expectations for women are still happing in our world today. We made some achievements through out the years but are still struggling to fight that equality that Gilman wanted in the 19th century. Benefits Of Good Oral Hygiene Essay Introduction The advantages of good oral hygiene can help prevent existing and prevalent dental problems, primarily plaque and calculus, which are the major causes of caries (cavities) and tooth decay. Dental caries are not only found in the adolescent population, but are also found in adults, due to gums receding throughout the aging process. This exposes the roots of teeth to the different types of bacteria that cause plaque and tooth decay. To be sure, seniors with poor health are no exception to dental caries and are often the most affected due to low fluoride use and/or poor oral care during adolescence.
