The document discusses the various technologies, software programs, and equipment used to create a magazine article. These included Photoshop for layout and photo editing, Animoto and Slideshare for presentations, Blogger for blogging, Microsoft Word for drafting text, Scribd for displaying text, a Nikon D3200 camera for photos, and soft lighting boxes. The author provides details on how each tool was used, such as editing photos in Photoshop, creating a pitch in Animoto, and presenting work through Slideshare. Through this process, the author learned new skills like photo editing and using different tools to create visually appealing presentations.
2. During the process of making this product I used
multiple different types of technology on the
computers at school during lessons, study periods
and free time after school, I also used my own
computer at home to do some of the editing
myself. The editing sites and software that I used
on the computers at school and at home were:
Photoshop, Animoto, Slideshare, Blogger, Microsoft
Word, Scribd and Paint. The practical editing
equipment that I used was a Nikon D3200 and also I
used 3 soft lighting boxes to give my photos some
more light in areas that were needed.
Here is how I used all of the editing
websites/software/hardware:
3. I used this to actually make my final piece for
my magazine, this includes setting the pages up
how I wanted them and also editing the photos
that I took. I have learnt a lot from Photoshop,
firstly being that it isn't something that you can
learn easily, it takes time to get used to it but I
adjusted quickly and was successful when
producing my final piece, it was quite tricky to
learn about Photoshop but it has taught me that
it makes a final piece of work look extremely
good in the end therefore I would want to use it
again for any other similar work that I would be
doing like this.
4. I used Scribd to place some of my texts on to
so that I didn't have to do it through blogger
to make my blog look a bit more interesting
with a lot more variety of text types. I learnt
that from this you can put in any texts from
Microsoft word and use it as a final way of
presenting your piece of writing in a more
presentable way.
5. I used this to create my pitch to my audience
as I saw it as a fun and more lively way to do
it as I could add my own style to it and make
it more appealing to my audience type. I will
definitely be using this in future as I think it
is a creative way to present a piece of work.
I learnt from this that there are more ways in
which you can present pieces of work rather
than the plain old text, you can make it
seem a lot more interesting and fun to look
at which is why I used it for my pitch as it
would catch my audiences attention well.
6. I used this to present any of the work that I
created during my research and planning so
that it would make my blog look well
presented and a lot more appealing to the
eye. Also I saw this as an easier way to post
as it didn't take up so much space on my blog
because it was all in one space and you could
work your way through the work produced
easily. I learnt from slideshare that this was a
neater way of presenting work and it made
my blog look a lot more well presented and
clean cut.
7. I used this to produce all of my pieces of work
that I did during the research and planning right
the way through to my final piece so that I could
organise myself and keep myself up to date with
what I was doing. I hadn't used blogger at all
before doing this Media course, whereas I got
used to the site very quickly and found myself
taking a liking to the site as it made my
experience of the course so much easier. I have
learnt a lot from using blogger, including that
there are a lot of ways in which you can style it
and use it to express your thoughts and give any
ideas whenever you want too.
8. I used this to write up any work that I did and
also I wrote up my double page spread article on
here as I could easily see if there was anything
wrong with it and I could edit it easily. I have
been using this software for many years
therefore I was already fully aware of how to use
it therefore I was comfortable using it for this
course. I have learnt from using this that it was a
lot easier to draft my work on and then progress
into placing my text onto more advanced sites to
make it look a lot more interesting to look at but
for writing draft pieces I have learnt that this is
the most effective and easiest way to make sure
you can do them right.
9. I used this software to paste my photos onto and
edit them easily as I have done in the past with any
photos that I have taken. I find it easy to edit
photos on this site as it is simple yet effective and
still gives you great results at the end. I have learnt
from this that placing photos on here and cropping
them before putting them on Photoshop gives you a
lot more of a clean cut finish rather than cropping
photos on Photoshop which I found was quite a
challenge.
10. I used this to take all of my photos with from
when I did my preliminary work to taking test
shots and taking my final photos that would be
used in my final piece. I already had a camera
similar to this one of my own therefore I knew
how to use it properly and make sure that my
photos would come out the way I wanted them
too. I enjoyed taking photos with this camera as
they came out really high quality and it was easy
to use. I have learnt that from using this camera
there are a lot of ways in which you can take
different shots depending on the lighting and
that using a camera like this it gives your photos
a lot more edge and much better quality.
11. I used these to create the exact lighting that
I wanted when taking my photos. They were
easy to control and they gave off the perfect
'brightness' and they showed off the precise
details of my models faces. I learnt that from
using these lighting boxes they made my
photos look a lot better rather than just
using the camera on its own as it make my
photos a lot more precise and well
presented.
12. Through using all of these sites and software I have
learnt that time keeping is essential and that even
though I hadn't got a clue how some of the sites
worked when I first discovered them, it is easy to
pick up when you set your mind to it and I actually
enjoyed learning about how to work them and I will
definitely be using some of them in the future now
that I know what to do with them.
