What have you learnt about technologies
from the process of constructing this
product?
 Since starting the AS media course, I have
used a wide variety of technologies, most of
which I did not know about before starting
the course. This means I have learnt lots of
new technological skills.
 I used InDesign to construct all of my media
product. I used a wide variety of tools on
InDesign including the stroke tool and the
pen tool. When first constructing my
preliminary task, I found it quite difficult to
use InDesign as it was a new programme and
one which I had not used before so I was quit
unsure how to use it. However, when it came
to making my final product, I found that I
was a lot more confident and had learnt how
to use certain tools, such as the text wrap.
 I used PhotoShop to edit my pictures in order for
them to be magazine worthy. PhotoShop
featured a wide variety of tools which I
used, including the spot reduction tool, magic
wand tool and the cloning tool. Although I was
slightly unsure when I first started using
Photoshop, I found it the easiest programme to
use as I think it was set out quite well and I
managed to figure out how to use all the
different features quickly. I learnt a various
amount from using PhotoShop, like how to use
the magic wand tool which I used in order to
adjust the background of my pictures.
 Blogger was the online website I used in order to
create my blog where I was able to publish all
my work I created, including my
research, creation and my finished products. I
found Blogger quite difficult to use at first as it
was the first time I had ever created a blog and
used a website like it, however after continuing
with my posts, I discovered that it was in fact
quite easy to use. The main thing I learnt from
Blogger was how to create a media friendly blog
by using all the many features on it, such as
being able to download a gadget in order publish
extra features I used on my pictures.
 I used thinglink in order to make my blog
more media friendly, as it allowed me to
place an icon onto my pictures which when
hovered over would display text. In order to
use thing link, I had to download a plug in
onto my blog so that this was able to be
used. From using thinglink, I learnt how to
make blogs more media friendly and how this
can help me to make a better blog.

 Camera & Equipment - I used the Canon camera
in order to take my pictures for my magazine. I
also used the photography set provided by the
school, including lighting and a back sheet. This
was my first experience using anything like this
and by having this experience, I learnt how to
use the camera and set properly.
 Windows Movie Maker - I used this programme to
create a video for one of my evaluation
questions. This programme enabled me to add
sound, media devices, animations etc.
 Youtube - I used Youtube to upload videos for my
evaluations and then to share my videos onto
Blogger.
