The document discusses technologies learned during the production of a media project. It describes learning Photoshop, including tools for text, shapes, gradients, photo editing, and cutting out images. Quark was difficult to learn and used for arranging text, importing photos and shapes. SLR cameras were easiest to use and taught lighting and focus. Planning technologies included Blogger for documenting production, Prezi for presentations, Scribd for written work, and Slideshare for research findings.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2. Production
To create my media product I used a range of technology
that I was not familiar with. This included:
• Photoshop
• Quark
• SLR Cameras
These were all technologies that I had little or no
experience with so it took me a while to get used to them.
3. Photoshop
When I first came to use Photoshop I found it really confusing. I
had never used anything as advanced so it took me a while to
get used to it and how everything worked. I think that Photoshop
is the program I learned the most about, as it was vital to my
production process. I used lots of tools such as:
• Text tool
• Shape tool
• Custom shape tool
• Gradient tool
• Text editing tools (Drop shadow & Stroke)
• Photo editing tools
• Pen tool
4. Photoshop
Text tool
I used the text tool to create all of the text on my front cover
and the title text for all of my pages.
Text editing tools
I used tools such as drop shadow and stroke to
enhance my text and made it stand out on certain
backgrounds.
Shape/Custom shape tool
I used this tool to create all of the
rectangle and square shapes on my
pages and the arrow shape on my front
cover
5. Photoshop
Gradient tool
I used the gradient tool to create a gradient
behind the main cover line on my front cover
and I also added a gradient to the main image
on my double page spread to make the image
look darker.
Photo editing tools
I used these tools to change the levels of the
image on my front cover to make the
background behind the cover star more
transparent as the text was hard to read over
the top of the background.
6. Photoshop
Pen tool
I used the pen tool to cut around the head of my cover star
on the front cover so that the masthead was behind it. I
also used this tool to cut out images for my contents page.
Cut out using
the pen tool
7. Quark
• I found Quark the most difficult to use. It was unlike
anything I had ever used before so it took some time to
get used to. The tool I used the most in Quark was the
text tool. I also used the photo import tool and the shape
tool. I arranged all of text into columns and used the text
tool to arrange all of my text. I used the picture tool to
import all of my images, including the backgrounds that I
created on Photoshop. I used the shape tool to make
shapes for my pull quotes on my double page spread.
8. SLR Cameras
• Before creating my media product I had some experience
with using SLR Cameras. I found SLR Cameras the
easiest to work with, and also the most fun. I learned
about the importance of lighting and mise-en-scene and
how these can really affect the final outcome of the image.
I also learned about the basic settings on the camera
such as auto and manual focus and how these could be
used in different ways.
9. Planning
I also used a range of technologies to help with the
planning and documenting of my production. These
included
• Blogger
• Prezi
• Scribd
• Slideshare
10. Blogger
Blogger was vital for my coursework as this is where I
documented all of my production and planning work. I used
Blogger as a diary to document all of my production work,
and also all of the planning work that went into producing
my media product such as researching the market place.
11. Prezi
I used prezi to create presentations to showcase planning
work for my media product. Prezi was fun and easy to use
as it has a range of interesting templates that can be used
to make presentations look more interesting.
12. Scribd
I used Scribd to document written planning work such as
the questionnaire that I made for my audience research.
Scribd was easy to use and a good way to document
written work.
13. Slideshare
I also used Slideshare to present my planning ideas and
also my conclusions from my audience research.
Slideshare is a simple way to upload power point
presentations to blogger to present planning work such as
analysis of magazine pages.
