The student learned several new technologies in constructing their media product:
They gained proficiency in Photoshop through practicing importing images, editing techniques like cutting and applying color, and using shape tools. They also used downloaded brushes to create backgrounds.
While preferring Photoshop, they found Quark useful for layout with its column structure, which helped achieve precise alignment.
The student had to downsize some images using Paint to make them fit required page sizes in Quark.
What have you learned about technologies from constructing this product
1. Question six: What have you
learned about technologies from
the process of constructing this
product?
2. Photoshop
Before I started my media course I had never previously used Photoshop and i didn’t
even know how to open a new project so I feel I have defiantly improved my skills a lot
considering I had never used it before, I know can confidently import pictures, edit
them and cut around them professionally, I also am confident at using the shape tools
to create different effects e.g. my Polaroid theme pictures on the front page. I also
learnt how to take colour from somewhere and apply it another to make sure my
colour scheme was perfect, for instance when I took the colour of my cover stars
lipstick and applied it to the colour of the cover line.
I also used different brushed that i downloaded from brusheezy to photoshop to create
a background for my contents page, however the rest of my contents document was
created using quark.
3. Quark
I personally preferred Photoshop to quark however I love the layout of quark
documents as the columns really help to assist you in making everything have
perfect alignment and look really professional.
I had to edit a lot of my images as they were to big to be rescaled in their original
for, I had to edit them down using paint and making them smaller so they can fit
i9nto the exact space and size I wanted for my pages.
