2. P h o t o s h o p
Throughout the course of this project I have learnt a great many skills on
Photoshop a program I had only ever used recreationally before. These skills
included colour, filter and brightness alteration, cutting around a
subject, airbrushing photographs, changing a persons size and shape and just a
general overview of all of its features.
I feel I took reasonably well to this piece of technology in order to produce the
best possible magazine.

Prezi has proved an extremely useful tool in presenting ideas and analysis! I
hadn’t used it before this product however I found it incredibly easy to get the
hang of.
Prezi has provided an excellent means to platform thoughts and ideas and
present them in an innovative fashion.
4. A p p l e M a c s
The whole magazine creation took place on an apple mac, an entirely different
computer format to one which I am used to.
Learning to use the macs for me was one of the most challenging aspects of the
whole course however once I had learned how they functioned, I quickly picked
it up. The macs are the perfect style of computer for photo editing what with
their wide screen and clear display.
5. C a m e r a
I am certainly no photographer and so I had to learn how to use a professional
SLR camera to take the images for my Front, contents and double page spread. I
learnt good technique as well as the meanings of the variating lenses.
Not only did I have to learn to use a camera I also had to organise the whole
photo shoot. I now no longer “point and shoot” when using a camera and
instead take time analysing the composition of a photograph in order to
optimise the image generated.
6. S l i d e s h a r e
I came across slide share while doing some research into my target
market- the website has been very useful in facilitating the upload of
PowerPoint onto my blog.
7. In d e s i g n
Another entirely new program to me! I learnt how to create mock up magazine
layouts, for my contents and double page spread as well as use the various
tools in order to actually create them. In design has been key to my magazine’s
first publication.
I found indesign to be quite challenging for the first few weeks however I
eventually figured out how to work it’s many functions; importing
images, creating themes and much more.
8. W o r d p r e s s
Finally wordpress- without this site I would not have my blog! I learnt how to upload my
work in all its different mediums ( be it; text, photo, video, quote or link) and present it to
an audience. Word press gives the opportunity for audience feedback if you tag your blog
and make the posts visible.
