1. How did you use new
media technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?

2. SOFTWARE
Software are programmes that are online or apps on a
computer or PC. Software programmes are a way of creating
and presenting pieces of work online for a wide range of
people and companies to see. These include things
such google, WordPress and YouTube. These programs
allowed me to plan and present my work in more abstract
ways.
The software programmes that I used include:

3. Google is the main platform for research and the main starting point of anything online. I
used Google to gather secondary research to help get an insight into the forms and
conventions of successful music videos and how they are constructed. Using this tool I was
able to access websites that allowed me to view videos and also look at the behind the
scenes, both planning and production. This gave me a better understanding of how to create
a video which would attract the attention of viewers and be successful. I used Google to
collect images and texts which compliment my work and add to its originality with the
unique choice of photos and texts combined.

4. FINAL CUT PRO X
Final cut pro X was the software programme I used to construct my music
video. The programme allows me to upload footage that I had taken and
using the blade tool I could shorten clips to put different ones together to
create variety in the amount of shots I used. I used the zoom in tool to allow
me to have clips which are close ups of my artist. This programme was used
in the entire production of my music video, without it I would have just had
hundreds of small clips just rolling one after the other.

5. PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop was the programme I used to create my poster and digipak. I used
photo shop in year 12 for my AS coursework, although it was the same programme
I learnt many more skills and developed my understanding of the programme over
the year. Photoshop allows you to edit images and transform them until they’re
unrecognisable. I used photoshop to create my album cover and magazine article, I
used the lasso tool to create the outline of the artist as shown below. This tool
allowed me to give a mirrored effects and make my work look more professional.

6. YouTube is the main webpage I used when I was looking for inspiration for
my music video. The platform allowed me to search for artists, songs and
genres of music that all helped me when I started planning my music
video. When I found the music videos I liked and wanted to insert into my
planning blog there was the embed tool which allowed me to embed
these videos into my blog and they were available to watch without
having to go through the website.

7. HARDWARE
Hardware are the things like cameras, tripods etc. these items are the
physical things that allow you to do stuff like film a music video.
Some of the hardware items I used include:

8. CANON CAMERA
The exact canon camera I used was the ‘Canon EOS 1300D DSLR Camera
With 18-55mm Lens’. The quality on this camera was incredible and allowed
me to get photos like this one which I chose to use as my signature photo
for my work. I also used this camera to film my music video along with this I
used a tripod to ensure that the camera was steady so the shots were in
place and focus at all times.

9. APPLE MAC
I used an Apple Mac: maOS Sierra (21inch, Late 2013) 8gb in the
research, planning and production of my music video. On the apple
mac there are many programmes like the ones mentioned on previous
slides. The apple mac allowed me to upload my footage to its hard
drive to save.
