I have learned about various technologies through constructing this product. I used a Canon camera and tripod to film high quality video for my opening scene. I edited the video using Adobe Premiere Pro which allowed me to crop, add sound, and produce a polished end product. I planned my opening scene using online tools like Blogger and Microsoft Word to document my ideas. I shared my finished opening scene on YouTube to get feedback from a wide audience. In filming and editing, I employed techniques like jump cuts to engage viewers.

2. The equipment I used and how I used them.
> For my opening scene, I used a variety of different equipment in my work. I wanted
to make sure that my opening scene was of good quality, and related to the genre
that we were given. I used a Canon camera, which enabled me to capture videos
which were of high quality, and then could be edited through software. Additionally,
I used a tripod which stabled my camera and helped me to film accurately (although
sometimes we did film handheld, this gave us a documentary feel to our film).
Furthermore, the use of a computer was also needed, as we could not only find the
music, and upload our videos, but also so that I could edit my opening scene.

3. Why I used Premier Pro & other software.
> Firstly, I used Premier Pro as this was the most suitable software to use to edit my
opening scene. It allowed me to crop my videos, add sound/music and also
produced a high quality piece. To edit my opening scene, I needed something which
was simple to use, but had a variety of options and techniques which would enable
me to create my film. Also, creating the opening scene on Premier Pro also allowed
me to easily, and quickly, upload my work onto YouTube, and any other websites
which I wanted it to be uploaded to.
> I used application software such as Microsoft Word to document and plan my
opening scene bit by bit. It enabled me to write any ideas down which I had thought
of, and could be edited quickly. Moreover, I used the software Google Chrome to
research things which would be included in my planning, such as music, costume,
research into the genre etc.

4. Why I used online presentations.
> I used online presentations as I wanted to display my work in a
professional looking way. Using PowerPoint for all of my work wouldnt
show that I was capable of presenting my work in different formats. To
plan my opening scene, I used Blogger to present my ideas and my work. I
felt that Blogger was the best place to document my work, as I could write
down my ideas in a format which looked proper and professional. This
enabled all of my work to be in the same place and was easily accessible.
The online presentations were helpful and useful in the production of my
product, as I could plan and document my ideas for the opening scene,
either in note form or in full sentences; everything was accessible in one
place.

5. YouTube
> I uploaded my opening scene onto YouTube, as this was somewhere where
I could see any responses or reactions to my work. This website is useful,
as I could show my work to a wide audience and have it somewhere where
anyone can watch it. The features of likes, comments and views are also
useful to see how many people are watching it, and how they are reacting
to it.
> It enabled me to document both my preliminary task and my main task,
and informed me of which one was more popular than the other.

6. The editing techniques that I used.
> In my opening scene, I used several different editing techniques. I used a
jump cut in my film, as I didn't want my character being shown walking for
too long, as I felt this would be boring to the viewer.
I felt that by using editing in my
opening scene, it would show that I had researched the different techniques, and also
that they would make the opening scene much more interesting. I think that the
features add to the overall post apocalyptic genre, as the editing doesn't cut too
quickly, like it would in an action film, and also from researching films within the genre,
the editing is similar to my opening scene.
