Evaluation of Paintball Advert

I am writing my evaluation in my Advert Coursework on paintballing.
My advertisement looks like a convincing media product because I have
used a slogan, ‘mad Montague Mania’ and a logo. I have used lots of
different product conventions which made my advert look like a
professional advert. I especially like the logo as the colour red really
stands out against the army camouflage background. My knowledge of
generic conventions is also clear when looking at me advert as I have
included a website address and a telephone number for people to use to
get more information.

My media product has represented paintballing as an activity that anyone
can do but is especially aimed at men. This isn’t realistic because as
many women do this as men because they wear protective clothing. My
advert was aimed more at men because they would like to do paintballing
to look strong and cool. Representation is an important issue because it
helps to sell the product.

My target audience for my media product would be anyone over 18 and
up to 50 years old. Overall I feel my target audience would be attracted to
my product because it looks like fun, safe and they will look good. I have
appealed to them by appealing to their need for attention and the need to
find meaning in life as suggested by Maslow.

The feature I am most pleased with is the image of the man in protective
clothing which is camouflaged into the background. It is successful
because it shows the meaning of paintballing. I am very proud that I was
able to create a camouflage background. However, if I could do it again I
would change my advert by using more images showing people actually
paintballing.

This project has taught me how to persuade people by using image in
advertising and how to use Photoshop.
