Meetings withmy client.
I had two meetings with my client to discuss my script with them, these meetings were
helpful for me as it enabled me to identify issues with my script and in doing so it helped me
to improve my script for the better, the meetings included my client reading through my
script and pointing any issues that they found in it so that I could then improve my script.
Some of the feedback that I received was comments on the layout of the script and how it
was formatted while also receiving feedback such as what was good about my script and
parts that they like or enjoyed.
What did the client like or dislike?
The client liked that my idea for my script and short film was unique and it helped them to
feel immersed in what is happening as it had some variation to films of this genre that are
currently out there. My client also liked the detail that my script went into and that they
could easily understand what was happening in my script and follow the story.
However some of the things that my client didn’t like included the layout of my script as it
was different to conventional scripts and didn’t look professionally correct, they also didn’t
like that I put the actions of my characters in brackets instead of on their own and that the
first draft was quite short.
What changes did I make basedon the feedback?
Based off of feedback from my client I decided that I needed to change the formatting of the
script so that it was of industry standard, I also adjusted the script by making changes to
grammar as in my first draft I had made some errors in grammar and punctuation. Also
based off of client feedback I decided to remove the brackets around actions that the
characters were doing and add more length to my script.
Meeting the needs of my client, brief and target audience.
I believe that I created a script that meets the needs of my client, brief and target audience,
I have met the needs of my target audience as I have crafted my script in such a way that is
suited to people of our age and feel the script is something that people of my target
audience would want to watch.
I feel I have met the brief as I have completed a full competent script and shooting script
which presents my short film which is in the allotted 5-15 minute time frame, gives option
for a future sequel and also meets other brief objectives. In meeting the brief I feel that has
helped me to meet the needs of the client and that when reading my script the client will be
more than pleased with the content that my script includes, the length of my script and that
it meets legal and ethical requirements that other short films would have to meet.
Did I produce a full formattedscript andshooting script?
In the end I produced a full formatted script that was a complied by a sufficient shooting
script to go with it, In doing so I think I have made it easy for my client to go through and
Evaluation
understand clearly what is happening as they have a shooting script alongside the script to
help guide them through my short film and what is happening.
Does it meet legal and ethical requirements?
I feel that my filmmeets legal and ethical requirements, I feel it does this as filmwill be
aimed for people who are between 15-18 and by having this target audience it has allowed
me to make my short film seem a little bit surreal and a bit of a thriller whereas if my target
audience was younger people I would’ve had to adjust my script to make it appropriate for
them to watch.
I also feel it meets these requirements as my short film doesn’t include any discriminative
material that could be seen in a negative manner and thus my audience shouldn’t have an
issue with my script and no one should report my film to the BBFC with any issues. Also my
film doesn’t include anything that is inappropriate for my target audience such as extreme
violence, violent language, drug use or gore so that is appropriate for my audience and
meets legal requirements.
WWW, EBI?
I believe that My script was clear and easy for my client to read with a clear story that
wasn’t complicated to follow, I also feel that the content included in my script is of a good
standard and will make for an entertaining short film once it is done. I also feel that my
script is well suited to my target audience and will be appropriate for my target audience.
I feel my script could’ve been better if I had been a bit faster in the decisions I made on
what I had to include in the script, I also feel that my script would’ve been a lot better if I
had properly formatted it early on so that I wouldn’t have had to go back at the end and
make sure that is was all properly formatted so that I could present a fully functioning script
to my client. I also feel that my script could’ve been a lot better if I had possibly add more
characters to my story so that I could possibly have more content.
