Crime And The Quality Of Life
Introduction
For better or worse, there is a link between crime and society. Society is strongly affected by crime
due to the cost and the decline in the quality of life that citizens face as a result of criminal activity.
Since there is a relationship associated with crime and the quality of life, then reducing crime is one of
the top priorities of a police department. However, reducing crime is a major challenge for any police
department around the world. Staffing shortages are one of the biggest challenges facing police
departments while attempting to reduce crime. Many agencies across the United States are having
trouble recruiting new police officers and keeping experienced, seasoned officers on the police force.
Staffing shortages are due to low pay, a cut in benefits, and the national anti police sentiment being
broadcasted across many news organizations daily. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in
2015 publicly released that there was an average of 2.3 officers per 1,000 inhabitants within cities that
had more than 10,000 residents (The Federal Bureau of Investigation s 2015). An average of 2.3
officers per 1,000 residents is not enough to deter or prevent crime. In a preliminary report for 2015
crime stats, the FBI noted, there is an overall increase in violent crimes. Based on data provided by
12,879 law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, murders have increased 6.2 percent
and aggravated assaults have increased 2.3 percent since

Exercise Relieves Anxiety Stress And Depression Fitness...
Company Information Exercise Relieves Anxiety Stress and Depression fitness center is a family
owned business that was formed in 2009. ERASD Fitness Center grew out of a desire to help family
members suffering from depression, anxiety and stress through exercise routines. Without certain
medical credentials we felt useless but knew we had to do something that would be beneficial in
helping the mind, and body of loved ones dealing with those sort of issues. We started out as a small
group of instructors with a degree of professionalism in the field of fitness, medicine and
management. It began in the basement of our family home and eventually took over most of the 4 bed
room house with fitness classes and private mentoring sessions. We began teaching life coach classes
coupled with body strong techniques for strength, weight training and low impact exercises as a means
of providing some constructive mentoring time with the youth in our family who were suffering with
this illness. They all had one common denominator and that was they were bored. This boredom often
lead to them making wrong choices. Life coach classes focus on helping those discover what is
important and the awareness of making right choices that can lead to a more positive and constructive
life. Powerful evidence suggest that exercise interactions can have substantial effects on mood, lifting
everyday bad moods and feelings of stress, as well as offering treatment effects for diagnosed
depression that

Knee Injury Summary
Summary of Article
This article begins with explain how even though volleyball is a non contact sport, it holds a very high
risk of injury. The most frequent way injuries occur are because of poor landing techniques. Women
are more prone to these types of injuries because biologically they have weaker ligaments. The second
most common injuries are injuries to the ankle. Researchers have said that the best way to reduce
injuries is by practicing appropriate postural control. Postural control is also linked with balance.
Balance one of the main components of knee injury. Volleyball, basketball, and other active athletes
have not developed proper posture to land safely, causing many injuries to the knee and ankles.
Point of Agreement
I agree that there has to be some reason for non contact athletes, like volleyball players, are injuring
themselves. It makes sense that the injury is caused by a poor development of proper posture. With
anything in sports, it is important to develop proper form and technique to both execute the skill and
be safe while playing. Many athletes, even professional, have a hard time with proper technique. They
think they know everything about the game but forget the basics and end up injuring themselves.
Point of Disagreement
As much as it is probably true, I would have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does a good job explaining that every injury has a cause of what happened. I like how it talked about
how something as simple as landing posture can be a huge cause in major injuries across many sports,
including volleyball. I think that these findings can help encourage coaches of all sport train their
athletes of proper form for both sport specific tactics and non sport specific tactics. Injuries while
doing something as simple as running or jumping continue to happen and we cannot assume anything
will change unless we are coached

Founders Education Pros And Cons
In this article we will be talking about the pros and cons about the online courses that students are
taking on the Founders Education program online. Founders Education is very good because of its self
paced option which allows students to work whenever they want and whichever lesson they want to
work on as long as they complete the assignment by the due date. The good thing about the online
program is that no other student will be distracted by any other student while working on the
assignments. Another thing that is very good that students like is that they are allowed to work on the
online program where ever they want as long as they have internet and also allowed to work on any

Harrison Bergeron Dystopian
Kurt Vonnegut s dystopian story, Harrison Bergeron , takes place in 2081. It is a story about everyone
being equal, nobody is smarter than anybody else, nobody is better looking than anybody else, and and
nobody is stronger or quicker than anybody else. This is because everybody wears handicaps to make
everyone equal to each other. But basically, one boy named Harrison Bergeron takes matters into his
own hands and goes against the Society. The Society basically makes all these people wear their
handicaps all the time. One lesson the story suggests is that you should never be afraid to stand up for
what you believe in, like Harrison.
In the beginning of the story, (Page 2) Hazel tries to make George stand up for what he believes in by

She shot them in front of everyone in the room. While this could actually be a really good point
because they did get shot and killed, it fails in one region of thought to me and probably other people
thinking like me also. I think that Harrison Bergeron and the ballerina s act actually did pay off for
them in my line of thinking. I think that them standing up for what they believe in really did pay off
for them because even though they got shot, I think what really payed off for them is that they instilled
the thought of everyone being equal, and the government (or Society) holding them to that, is kind of
crazy and that the people of his world should fight for what they believe in. So, Harrison Bergeron and
the ballerina actually stood up for what they believed in and taught people that they too, should stand
up for what they believe in, and that they, and anybody, can really make a difference with just a couple
of opinions and a couple of words being spoke by the people of the country that you, and others live
and dwell in. For example, in the moment of the story when the ballerina rose, it wasn t because she
wanted to be Harrison Bergeron s wife, it was because she wanted to stand up for what she believed in
with him. The moment in the story is described as, I

Fibromyalgia Essay
Fibromyalgia was initially thought to be a musculoskeletal syndrome since maximum of the pain was
felt in the muscles and other soft tissue. However, recent studies and research have shown that
fibromyalgia is a central nervous system ailment which causes uncharacteristic pain processing and
leads in pain amplification. The three chief symptoms that are common to virtually everybody who
struggles with fibromyalgia are pain, tiredness and sleep disorders.
Pain
Pain is typically the most prominent symptom of fibromyalgia. FM pain is chronic and widespread
affecting all four quadrants of the body, although not essentially simultaneously. Its intensity might
range from mild to deep. Fm pain tends to wander sometimes affecting one portion of the ... Show

They report having trouble getting to sleep and waking up often through the night. Studies have shown
that FM fatalities expend little time in deep sleep. Deep sleep is our body s way of dealing with and
sorting the day s events and individuals who suffer from FM are not able to get the restorative sleep
which their bodies require. This deficiency of deep sleep also has a knock on effect making the pain
occasionally worse and making the patient tired or feeling like they have a hangover the subsequent
day.
Generally, the first point of call would be a general practitioner who would more than likely refer you
to a pain management expert who will recommend a couple of courses of treatment which might
include physiotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs
(nsaids). These are identified to help with pain, irritation, swelling and stiffness. There are diverse
physiotherapies for fibromyalgia treatment in Delhi at PHYWorld including TENS therapy which aids
in relieving localized pain, tender spots and musculoskeletal pain diseases. Massage is another
wonderful option that is advantageous in promoting optimum healing by improving the circulation of
blood across the tissues to augment retrieval and offers symptomatic relief. Physiotherapy exercises

Macroeconomics Essay on Aggregate Demand and Aggregate Supply
A. Fracking technology matures and significantly reduces the costs of producing oil and natural gas.
First of all, the fact that the overall costs of producing oil and natural gas will be reduced, then
companies will be able to produce more for the same costs or increase their profit margins. At higher
aggregate supply, the price is likely to decrease, compensating the fact that the companies have
reduced their costs and allowing them to produce at the same level for similar prices. Aggregate
demand will also increase, mainly because the products and services that are associated with oil and
natural gas will become more affordable. As aggregate demand increases, the price will also likely
increase in the short term, at least until aggregate supply and demand regulate themselves at a new
level. Ideally, however, new technologies will make oil and natural gas more affordable, which would
lower the overall price of products and services, since costs, including transportation costs, are lower.
B. The European Union disbands and individual European countries enact large tariffs on the
importation of American goods. There are several elements to be discussed about this event. First, the
European Union is a customs union, in the sense that all the member countries enact the same tariff on
a particular import of goods from the United States. This means that imports from the US of a
particular good has a tariff that ranges from 0 % to higher levels. Disbanding means mainly

Romeo Is Completely to Blame for the Tragic Outcome in the...
Romeo is completely to blame for the tragic outcome in the play.
William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet is without doubt one of the most well known love story.
Throughout the five acts of the play, one tragedy follows another, with the famous suicide of Romeo
and Juliet as a tragic conclusion. Throughout the play, it may seem that Romeo caused these events to
unfold, however it is unjust to say that he bears all responsibility for the tragedy. The decisions,
actions and circumstances that other characters made and faced have also contributed to the tragic
outcome. Nevertheless, it is also in the hands of fate that destined the immature deaths of Romeo and

However, chance and misfortune could ve been factors giving fate a helping hand. It could be by
chance that Romeo and Juliet were to meet at the ball. And it was unfortunate that the letter could not
reach Romeo as there is a plague spreading and Friar John was forbidden to leave Verona. Before they
were born Romeo and Juliet were chosen as agents of fate, and that it would be a death marked love .
Romeo himself admits that he is driven by fate: I fear too early for my mind misgives / Some
consequences yet hanging in the stars (Act1 Scene4 Lines106 107). However, even if Romeo and
Juliet did not meet at the Capulets ball, fate could make the star crossed lovers meet at another time, as
an important task has to be fulfilled as the result of this death mark d love .
Another major factor in the play is the family feud between the Capulets and the Montagues. Without
the feud, the young lovers may be together and may not have to act is such desperation that had driven
them to commit suicide. The feud has a direct impact on the actions characters decide from the very
beginning, thus, it is another important deciding factor regarding the outcome of the play.
Because both Romeo and Juliet feel intense passion for each other, they behave in a very hasty and
dangerous manner. And despite Friar Lawrence s warning to Romeo: Wisely and slow, they stumble

How Does Racism Affect To Kill A Mockingbird
Racism That Affected Maycomb Harper Lee in the novel, To kill a Mockingbird explains that race is a
big problem. Lee supports her arguments by explaining how racist people treat POC. The author s
purpose is to convince people to think how racism can affect people in the book. What she does in
order to convince them to think what and why racism is bad and how they get offended. The thematic
spector of Jim Crow and the injustices of southern racism haunt scout and her siblings. To
demonstrate, when Francis makes a comment saying he s nothing but a nigger lover(Lee 94). She said
that they aren t ever going to be able to walk on the streets of maycomb. For example, when francis
said aloud that uncle atticus was a nigger lover, He ran around the house saying that atticus was a
nigger lover(Lee 94). Scout called her grandma a whore lady and jumped on top of her and that made
them argue. To emphasize, she said she would never speak to her again and she said that she hopes she

A Car In NASCAR
If you have ever wondered how the cars in NASCAR are so fast, it s the tech that is in them. In every
NASCAR race car, is a piece of machinery that has been worked on for hours. Mechanics of every
NASCAR team work for hundreds of hours building engines, making adjustments, building the roll
cage, and getting stock parts. The cars are worked on throughout the entire week, because the crews
have to go through the car and see if they had missed anything that they were supposed to fix or
adjust. If they don t do that, the driver will talk about how the car is running and feeling. The cars are
modified to be able to run on the tracks that they are going to run on. Most of these cars need a lot of
adjustments to they run perfectly without any problems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The engines in the racecars of NASCAR are way more different. They have more horsepower, more
torque, and a lot more power. According to popularmechanics.com, the engines in Nascar Sprint Cup
cars are 90 degree pushrod V8s, just like those that have powered many vehicles on American roads
for more than 50 years. But today, the engine under Jimmie Johnson s hood is a custom made 850 hp
358 cubic inch thoroughbred that s optimized to run flat out for no more than 1000 miles. See most
street car engines have about 400 to 500 horsepower. Engines in NASCAR have different valve trains,
engine blocks, and a different lubrication system. Those make the engines more powerful. The tires in
NASCAR are also very different. For one thing, the tires are filled with nitrogen instead of air. That
makes the tire wider, and much more harder to pop. They also have a treadless design on them so they
get more grip on a dryer track. If they raced on wet tracks, the tires won t get traction from the track
and will spin out. That is why NASCAR stops the races if it rains. So even if the engines don t really
evolve, they still may run on them, but most teams make new engines before every

Essay Comparing The Awakening and Story of an Hour
Comparing The Awakening and Story of an Hour
The heroine, Mrs. P, has some carries some characteristics parallel to Louise Mallard in Hour. The
women of her time are limited by cultural convention. Yet, Mrs. P, (like Louise) begins to experience a
new freedom of imagination, a zest for life , in the immediate absence of her husband. She realizes,
through interior monologues, that she has been held back, that her station in life cannot and will not
afford her the kind of freedom to explore freely and openly the emotions that are as much a part of her
as they are not a part of Leonce. Here is a primary irony.
Also, the rhetoric Chopin uses is full of contradictions from the beginning. not only that, but there are

The relatively open and honest (less suppressed)culture of the Creoles is one which catalyzes her
human sensibilities. Who could blame her? Especially Madame Ratignolle, and the way Chopin
describes her sensuousness and warmth, would be compelling features it seems for anyone to be
attracted to and to want, almost unconsciously, to emulate. Second, the attentive nature of Robert
LeBrun is so marked and attractive when compared with Leonce s domineering, controlling, even
neglectful ways in which he treats (and does not treat) his family, (but with a measure of trying to
placate them as the result of his own selfishness at Klein s). When he wins, he forgets all about the
candy and peanuts he promised his children. With Edna, he is talkative, but not attentive. Still, though,
Edna is culturally in over her head when it comes to the sensual honesty and astonishingly implicit
trust of these men to let their wives do what they do at this time in history. Thus far, I see an ostensibly
lethal combination of Mme R and Robert working, however innocently in Edna s life.
A more obvious trigger for her sensual nature is Mlle Reisz, who upon playing for her at the
beginning, affords that pictures be conjured up in Edna s mind as she plays. After the reinforcement of
Robert s affections upon her, continuing to impart obsession into her mind, Mlle R s playing hits the
very core of her being, and we see that indeed her body and soul

Linkin Park s Rough Road to Success
Linkin Park is an American rock/alternative metal band. Formed in 1996, they are from Agoura Hills,
California. Two of the band members, Brad and Mike, both graduated from Agoura High School in
1996. They have sold over 50 million albums and have won two Grammy Awards. They had success

In Hybrid Theory and Meteora, they adopted nu metal and rap rock. The band originally consisted of
three high school friends. The three members were Mike Shindola, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon.
They began to recruit members for their band Xero including Joe Hahn, Dave Phoenix Farrell, and
Mark Wakefield. In 1996, they began recording music in a make shift studio. After they failed to land
a record deal, tensions began to build. In turn this caused Mark Wakefield, the lead vocalist, to leave
the band to pursue other projects. Dave Farrell also left the band. In 1999, they hired a vocalist from
Arizona named Chester Bennington. At the time of his and his ex wife s wedding, they were so poor
they couldn t afford rings so they got ring tattoos on their fingers.

A Website On Air Pollution
Our proposal is to create a website that encourages people to learn about how to use their car
efficiently. Our website is called Greenriding and there are some games and quizzes that teach you
about air pollution. During this game you earn points and you can trade it in for coupons and the
coupon is sent to the person by email, and comes in a printable PDF. These coupons can be traded in
for things that help air pollution (free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free tune
ups). The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to get coupons, is
because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact on the environment. Also getting
your car checked out, and fixed soon after your engine light goes on, can improve your mileage by
more than 30%. The second part of Greenriding is a car and shuttle system called Greenrides. You can
either rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you could rent an individual car for just a few people.
To become a member of the Greenrides program, you pay $25 per year. You get the individual car
rides for free, but would still pay $10 per shuttle ride. We the car manufactures are concerned that the
next generation of drivers will not be educated enough on air pollution. They should be able to learn
about air pollution for a small price. Your car is designed to run at an optimal efficiency, however
time, distance, and weather, contribute to decreasing that efficiency. Routine

have expanded their realms and conquered other peoples (Diamond 241). In the modern world,
weapons seem to define the outcomes of wars. Technology motivates the daily lives of people
internationally. Throughout history, weapons and technology have led to major conquests and growths
of human civilizations.
After 11,000 B.C., technology in the Fertile Crescent developed immensely. Inventions including flint

it possible for food production to occur. These cumulative developments constituted the unconscious
first steps of plant domestication (Diamond 111). Utilizing the further geographical advantage of rich

yielded large food surpluses stored in baskets, allowing the society to move toward a sedentary

The Elections Process And The American Election Process
For a citizen that follows and contributes to the American election process, one of the most important
things to them is that they are being represented properly. The whole reason a person votes in the first
place is so that they can be represented in decisions being made within the government. If it were not
the job of elected officials to represent the people s word then voting would never happen. This is a
hot topic because everyone wants to make sure they are being represented fairly. There have been
issues with how minorities, women, and even people of certain beliefs have been represented. This
paper is going to focus on the election process and how minorities are being represented in both
negative and positive ways. One way that representation can be diminished is through what is called
Minority Vote Dilution . Meaning, it was harder for minorities to gain representation (Bowler Segura.
2012.). A way to cause this is through the movement of district boundaries to make the votes unequal
from district to district. One way that this happens is through Cracking which is when particular voters
are spread among a series of districts in order to keep them as small vote blocs within each seat
(Bowler Segura. 2012.). What it really does is cause a certain minority group to seem smaller than
they actually are in the population make up. Another way to diminish a groups voting ability is by
packing a certain unit of people. According to Bowler Segura this is a

George Eastman Biography
George Eastman Kodak Camera
George Eastman was many things. He left a great legacy for himself and established an amazing
foundation for the Kodak Camera. Before starting any type of work in any field, he went to public
school for seven years. Public education is where he got the foundational education for his later
camera invention. He didn t begin his camera work until much later in life.
In his early working years, he was well established in an insurance office, a book office, and studied
scientific books for his own knowledge. These early jobs didn t pay well, however, they allowed him
to earn a living to support his family before becoming extremely wealthy. Eastman sacrificed many

work. The business man that he worked for at a young age saw his full potential and believed that

Rochester, New York, Eastman became seriously interested in photography (source 3). He was only
able to be interested in new things because someone else believed in him. Starting small Eastman
decided to open his own business, so that he could learn how to run a company and to create a good
reputation for himself without people making opinions without knowing anything about him.
After creating a steady business and allowing for people to learn his true potential he was able to
begin early research work. The clerical work at the insurance office did not absorb all of young
Eastman s energies, as his trips to Niagara Falls, Boston, Maine, and Chicago indicate

Chemical Reactions Lab Report
Types of Chemical Reactions The purpose of the lab experiment was to identify different types of
chemical reaction and the products of the formulas. The different types of chemical reaction include
decomposition, single replacement, synthesis, combustion, and double replacement. There were many
hazards that were involved in these experiments. Some of them were heat burns, base burns, alkali
burns, catching hair on fire, the risk of getting chemicals in the eyes, spilling the chemicals, the risk of
combining two solutions that are not meant to be mixed, cutting skin on broken test tubes, and
propane leaks. I think that Zinc + Copper(II) Sulfate Copper (II) + Zinc Sulfate. I believe this a single

For this experiment, we did not need a test tube. We went to the lab station where the Bunsen burners
were at. We made sure all safety measures were followed. We turned on one Bunsen burner. Then we
grabbed a clamp to hold the copper. We found a medium sized piece of copper and held the copper
with the clamp. We then put on heat and flame resistant gloves to help prevent burns. As we held the
copper over the open flame we began to watch the reaction of the two combined. We saw a green
flame be formed. We also observed the copper become a blackish red. We recorded all we witnessed.
To clean our workstation we first turned off the Bunsen burner. Then, we waited for the copper to cool
before we disposed of it. Next, we made sure the gas was turned off and everything was put back

Isolde, Cold And Bleeding In Camelot s Throne Room
Isolde, cold and bleeding in Camelot s Throne Room, lay dying in her lover, Tristan s, arms.
She and Tristan had been smugglers, so do die by the sword had always been a possibility, but, as she
discovered, staring into the face of death was far more frightening than considering it might happen
one day. And now, with blood draining from her abdominal wound, soaking Tristan s trousers, she
understood she would meet death in heartbeats. But how many? Two? Twenty?
Beneath Isolde, Tristan trembled, and she decided this was the worst part of dying unexpectedly, that
she could not comfort him and would never speak the words she longed to say, that final, loving
goodbye he so deserved.

Social Networking Site
sCHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION 1.1 Introduction Social Networking Sites
Few years back, usage of social networking sites became popular around the world. Social networking
sites are also known as social networking website. Social networking sites (SNSs) are increasingly
attracting the attention of academic and industry researchers fascinated by their affordances and reach.
Social networking sites are web base service that building an online community of people that share
same interest, or activities and explore others people interest. Social network sites (SNSs) such as
FACEBOOK, TWITTER, MYSPACE, CYWORLD, and BEBO have attracted millions of users,
many of whom have integrated these sites into their practices.
As of this writing, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, seems like all the population moved to FACEBOOK and MySpace now became less and less
visitors.
3) TWITTER
Twitter should be probably being at number two on this list. They average 628,759,806 inbound links
and weigh in with 23,000,000 monthly visitors, but their social impact is bigger than their numbers.
With fewer monthly visitors that MySpace, they re relegated to third. Twitter is the it boy in social
networking now, with some people leaving Facebook (way too gauche) for the more refined twitter.
The cool part about twitter is the ease with which you can find your favorite celebs and sports figures
to follow. Unlike Facebook (just trying friend with one of your favorite musicians in Facebook) you
can easily read stars and smart people s updates. Twitter could easily take over the number one spot on
this list as more and more people join.
Rounding out the list are LINKEDIN, CLASSMATES.COM, NING, BEBO, HI5.COM, TAGGED
and MY YEARBOOK.
1.2 Social Networking Sites in Malaysia In Malaysia, there is no doubt that more and more working
peoples are spending more and more of their time socializing and networking online. This due to
availability of mobile devices, services at an affordable price and also the availability of online
facilities. Technology has played an integral part of our daily lives. The fact that technology is
becoming more readily available at a lower cost has given more options and alternatives for us to

Motivation, challenge, empowering and innovative management.
John Lewis uses profit sharing as the way of financial motivation combined a wide range of other
valuable benefits, and in return have a low labour turnover which is half that most of their
competitors.
(Thursday, 20 August 2009www.independent.co.uk/news/business/analysis)
Being a partner is a strong motivating factor, You re not just an employee; you are an owner of the
business. That makes you feel differently about everything. (Tom Miller department store director at
JMP)
Partners are paid more generously than employees at other retailers. They receive five weeks annual
holiday, a 25 per cent discount and a final salary pension.
There are other non financial motivators also. Partners can rent subsidized rooms in two large country
estates, or stay at lakeside hotels in Snowdonia and the Lake District, or in a 16th century castle in
Dorset. Five cruising yachts can be rented cheaply. And then there is the £60 annual subsidy on
exhibitions, theatres, visitor attractions and comedy shows.
Although senior management, are paid less than their peers in City run firms. It is about £400,000 to
£500,000 a year half the £939,000 earned last year by Debenhams chief executive, with a business of
a same size. But what they believe is that managers decide with John Lewis if they want to be part of
that industrial experiment. And if they fail to be motivated by that then

Why Is Goblin Market Still Relevant Today
The Continuing Trend of Sin in Modern Film influenced by Goblin Market
Tyler Perry s Temptation:Confessions of a Marriage Counselor is a film based on sin and shows how
sin is capable of ruining lives. The very title of the movie, explores some biblical references such as
temptation leading into sin. The main character Judith is a woman that finds herself in a very tempting
situation at work. A bachelor, who is looking for love finds interest in her although she is married. He
persuades her with gifts, and expensive things in life that she could only imagine. Judith falls deeper
and deeper into her affair that she ends up losing herself and falls to drugs and leaves her husband. In
Goblin Market, the same reference is made a woman falling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According to Julie Flygare, in her essay intertwining themes in Goblin Market she states that: Rossetti
fills Goblin s Market with subject matter and themes that has strong religious associations. There is an
important theme of temptation similar to Eve s temptation in the Old Testament. Laura is slyly enticed
to eat forbidden fruit, which predictably results in great pain and her lose of innocence (Flygare).
Temptation relays the story of woman as falling for the forbidden fruit, which put the world in chaos.
Goblin Market can be seen as a hint to Eve eating the forbidden fruit and wrecking humanity. As in
Temptation that same dynamic is seen, the woman gets curious and is lured away from good through
the lusting of something else, which evidently was the bachelor. Yes, many scholars focus on the
feminist aspect of the poem, but the allusion to Eve in the garden of Eden is much more prevalent.
Although, Temptation didn t involve fruit, it did however include an aspect that was tempting such as
riches, and treasures. It s almost like an individual selling their soul just to get what they want. The sin
aspect is definitely portrayed in this modern film, it stills hold that same meaning as to what the poem
Goblin Market is trying to denote, which is that sin is everywhere. Plus the idea of women being the
main ones involved with sin. Again in the film it made Judith be looked upon as weak, and unable to

Short Essay On Wallowas
Traveling to the most Northeastern region of Oregon lays a true gem, named one of the seven wonders
of Oregon, the Wallowas is a goldmine for nature lovers and thrill seekers. The Wallowas is a
mountain range often referred to as the Swiss Alps of Oregon; its highest park reaching 9,838 feet is
named Sacajawea peak. Home to the Wallowa Lake; 2.5 miles long and actually formed by glaciers,
the evidence is a border climbing 900 feet above the surface of the water made of loose glacier debris,
called moraines. Residual snow from the previous winter and telltale signs of avalanches can be
spotted on the mountain sides above the layers of fir, spruce and ponderosa trees.
While the winter months do hold many adventures for snow mobiles, skiing and snowboarding; it is
the summer months that capture the attention of many and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Between May and October the activities seem boundless, with varying options for the young to the
elderly and everyone in between. Take a leisurely 15 minute ride on the Wallowa Lake Tramway to the
top of Mt. Howard, while there you can t help but to relish in awe of the views stretching over the
Wallowas and the Eagle Cap Wilderness. While at the peak of the Mountain, you are free to wonder
the trails or dine at the Summit Grill overlooking the spectacular view ahead of you. There are three
ways to come back down the mountain; you can take the tram back down, you can hike down, I would
recommend the third option, paragliding. One of the highlights of my experience in the Wallowas, was
being harnessed to the parachute along with the guide. We hiked to his launch site, he gave me clear
instructions to walk towards to edge of the mountain then start to run and before I could think twice
my feet were off the ground. Increasing altitude by catching a thermal wind, a change in the direction
of wind due to changes in temperature, he called it the most natural form of flying that a person can
experience. From this

Sherman Alexie Indian Discrimination
One should get to know a person before judging them because impressions are not always accurate. In
the novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, Junior experiences racism on the Spokane
Indian reservation and at Reardan, where Junior attends school. Racial discrimination makes the
Indians on the reservation lose their sense of self worth and they feel as if they deserve to be treated
this way. At Reardan, Junior is in an atmosphere where his white classmates and teachers make racist
jokes and nicknames targeting him. In the novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian,
Sherman Alexie explains how prejudice and discriminatory behaviour endorses negative relationships

Going into Reardan as an Indian, people thought of Junior differently and therefore treated him
differently. He is viewed differently because people believe that the whites are better and wealthier
than the Indians. Junior explains to his friend Gordy that ...some Indians think you have to act white to
make your life better. Some Indians think that you become white if you try to make your life better, if
you become successful (Alexie 132). Junior may be Indian physically, but that does not mean that he
does not have the same traits and should not be treated different than any other white person at
Reardan. Additionally, Junior s classmates started of thinking of Junior as a weak individual because
of his skin colour. Junior s classmates think it is alright to call Junior names because of his physical
appearance but weak and poor and scared, [Junior] let them call [Junior] names while [Junior] figured
out what to do..So [Junior] punched Roger in the face (Alexie 64/65). Junior proves his classmates
wrong when they think that he is too scared to pick fight with them when in reality, Junior had the guts
to punch Roger in the face. Junior clearly proves how his physical appearance does not define his
strength or power. Junior should be treated equally and not judged based on his race because that does
not define who he is as an

Why Is Gladiator Movie True
The movie Gladiator, released in 2000, was directed by Ridley Scott. It was produced by Douglas
wick, David Franzoni, and Branki Lustig. The three stars were Russell Crowe playing Maximus,
Joaquin Phoenix playing Commodus, and Connie Nielsen playing Lucilla. Gladiator is a one part
movie that won five academy awards.
Maximus decides to retire from the Roman Army after a battle over the germanic tribes. After
Commodus has killed his father the enperor and Maximus family, Maximus is captured and kept as a
slave. He is sold to a man named Proximo who trains him to become a gladiator to get revenge on
Commodus for what he did to his family. Maximus must go to the colosseum and fight his way to
freedom and then kill Commodus. But Maximus earns so much respect from the crowd that now
jealous Commodus decides to fight Maximus in the colosseum himself. Before the fight Commodus
fatally stabs Maximus in the side. Maximus still fights Commodus and ends up killing him, but dies
later from the stab wound in his side. Maximus is then buried with the figurines of his wife and son at

a wife, and was very strong and good in battle. He ruled for 13 years, rather than a short period like in
the movie. Commodus did not die in the arena either, he died in the bath from being strangled. The
producers tried to put a spin on the actual events by putting in a fictual character (Maximus) and
adding in fictional events to make it something more of the own rather than just a

How Did The Spread Of Separationism
In the year 1517, a monk by the name of Martin Luther revolutionized the entire religious world by
starting the Reformation movement within Europe by just posting his 95 Theses to the Castle Church
doors in Wittenberg, Germany. The spread of the Reformation ideals took time until it eventually
made its way to England in the early 17th century. England, throughout the years, was constantly
changing politically and religiously, with some monarchs leaning towards Protestantism with an iron
fist and other rulers directing the country to an extremist Catholic empire. Even when the Elizabethan
Settlement , which was treaty that ended the religious wars between the Protestants and Catholics
within England, was made there were still outcries within England for greater reforms.
The Puritans and the Separationists were those who called for a pure church within England. The
Queen and even the Church of England would not put up with such communities and forced religious
conformity, thus ending a brief period of religious peace within the country. The Puritans and
Separationists had no other choice but to flee to the New World.
The Separationists called for a separation between church and state. They lived and breathed each and
every single word the Bible and believed that the bible didn t in fact teach religion as a hierarchy. On
http://www.spurgeon.org/~phil/history/trail.htm it also states, They preferred a simple worship liturgy
which emphasized a Holy God. They felt that the

  • 2. Crime And The Quality Of Life Introduction For better or worse, there is a link between crime and society. Society is strongly affected by crime due to the cost and the decline in the quality of life that citizens face as a result of criminal activity. Since there is a relationship associated with crime and the quality of life, then reducing crime is one of the top priorities of a police department. However, reducing crime is a major challenge for any police department around the world. Staffing shortages are one of the biggest challenges facing police departments while attempting to reduce crime. Many agencies across the United States are having trouble recruiting new police officers and keeping experienced, seasoned officers on the police force. Staffing shortages are due to low pay, a cut in benefits, and the national anti police sentiment being broadcasted across many news organizations daily. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in 2015 publicly released that there was an average of 2.3 officers per 1,000 inhabitants within cities that had more than 10,000 residents (The Federal Bureau of Investigation s 2015). An average of 2.3 officers per 1,000 residents is not enough to deter or prevent crime. In a preliminary report for 2015 crime stats, the FBI noted, there is an overall increase in violent crimes. Based on data provided by 12,879 law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, murders have increased 6.2 percent and aggravated assaults have increased 2.3 percent since ... • 3. Exercise Relieves Anxiety Stress And Depression Fitness... Company Information Exercise Relieves Anxiety Stress and Depression fitness center is a family owned business that was formed in 2009. ERASD Fitness Center grew out of a desire to help family members suffering from depression, anxiety and stress through exercise routines. Without certain medical credentials we felt useless but knew we had to do something that would be beneficial in helping the mind, and body of loved ones dealing with those sort of issues. We started out as a small group of instructors with a degree of professionalism in the field of fitness, medicine and management. It began in the basement of our family home and eventually took over most of the 4 bed room house with fitness classes and private mentoring sessions. We began teaching life coach classes coupled with body strong techniques for strength, weight training and low impact exercises as a means of providing some constructive mentoring time with the youth in our family who were suffering with this illness. They all had one common denominator and that was they were bored. This boredom often lead to them making wrong choices. Life coach classes focus on helping those discover what is important and the awareness of making right choices that can lead to a more positive and constructive life. Powerful evidence suggest that exercise interactions can have substantial effects on mood, lifting everyday bad moods and feelings of stress, as well as offering treatment effects for diagnosed depression that ... • 4. Knee Injury Summary Summary of Article This article begins with explain how even though volleyball is a non contact sport, it holds a very high risk of injury. The most frequent way injuries occur are because of poor landing techniques. Women are more prone to these types of injuries because biologically they have weaker ligaments. The second most common injuries are injuries to the ankle. Researchers have said that the best way to reduce injuries is by practicing appropriate postural control. Postural control is also linked with balance. Balance one of the main components of knee injury. Volleyball, basketball, and other active athletes have not developed proper posture to land safely, causing many injuries to the knee and ankles. Point of Agreement I agree that there has to be some reason for non contact athletes, like volleyball players, are injuring themselves. It makes sense that the injury is caused by a poor development of proper posture. With anything in sports, it is important to develop proper form and technique to both execute the skill and be safe while playing. Many athletes, even professional, have a hard time with proper technique. They think they know everything about the game but forget the basics and end up injuring themselves. Point of Disagreement As much as it is probably true, I would have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It does a good job explaining that every injury has a cause of what happened. I like how it talked about how something as simple as landing posture can be a huge cause in major injuries across many sports, including volleyball. • 6. Harrison Bergeron Dystopian Kurt Vonnegut s dystopian story, Harrison Bergeron , takes place in 2081. It is a story about everyone being equal, nobody is smarter than anybody else, nobody is better looking than anybody else, and and nobody is stronger or quicker than anybody else. This is because everybody wears handicaps to make everyone equal to each other. But basically, one boy named Harrison Bergeron takes matters into his own hands and goes against the Society. The Society basically makes all these people wear their handicaps all the time. One lesson the story suggests is that you should never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in, like Harrison. She shot them in front of everyone in the room. While this could actually be a really good point because they did get shot and killed, it fails in one region of thought to me and probably other people thinking like me also. I think that Harrison Bergeron and the ballerina s act actually did pay off for them in my line of thinking. I think that them standing up for what they believe in really did pay off for them because even though they got shot, I think what really payed off for them is that they instilled the thought of everyone being equal, and the government (or Society) holding them to that, is kind of crazy and that the people of his world should fight for what they believe in. So, Harrison Bergeron and the ballerina actually stood up for what they believed in and taught people that they too, should stand up for what they believe in, and that they, and anybody, can really make a difference with just a couple of opinions and a couple of words being spoke by the people of the country that you, and others live and dwell in. For example, in the moment of the story when the ballerina rose, it wasn t because she wanted to be Harrison Bergeron s wife, it was because she wanted to stand up for what she believed in with him. • 8. Macroeconomics Essay on Aggregate Demand and Aggregate Supply A. Fracking technology matures and significantly reduces the costs of producing oil and natural gas. First of all, the fact that the overall costs of producing oil and natural gas will be reduced, then companies will be able to produce more for the same costs or increase their profit margins. At higher aggregate supply, the price is likely to decrease, compensating the fact that the companies have reduced their costs and allowing them to produce at the same level for similar prices. Aggregate demand will also increase, mainly because the products and services that are associated with oil and natural gas will become more affordable. As aggregate demand increases, the price will also likely increase in the short term, at least until aggregate supply and demand regulate themselves at a new level. Ideally, however, new technologies will make oil and natural gas more affordable, which would lower the overall price of products and services, since costs, including transportation costs, are lower. Throughout the play, it may seem that Romeo caused these events to unfold, however it is unjust to say that he bears all responsibility for the tragedy. However, even if Romeo and Juliet did not meet at the Capulets ball, fate could make the star crossed lovers meet at another time, as an important task has to be fulfilled as the result of this death mark d love . Another major factor in the play is the family feud between the Capulets and the Montagues. Without the feud, the young lovers may be together and may not have to act is such desperation that had driven them to commit suicide. The feud has a direct impact on the actions characters decide from the very beginning, thus, it is another important deciding factor regarding the outcome of the play. According to popularmechanics.com, the engines in Nascar Sprint Cup cars are 90 degree pushrod V8s, just like those that have powered many vehicles on American roads for more than 50 years. But today, the engine under Jimmie Johnson s hood is a custom made 850 hp 358 cubic inch thoroughbred that s optimized to run flat out for no more than 1000 miles. See most street car engines have about 400 to 500 horsepower. Engines in NASCAR have different valve trains, engine blocks, and a different lubrication system. Those make the engines more powerful. The tires in NASCAR are also very different. For one thing, the tires are filled with nitrogen instead of air. That makes the tire wider, and much more harder to pop. They also have a treadless design on them so they get more grip on a dryer track. If they raced on wet tracks, the tires won t get traction from the track and will spin out. That is why NASCAR stops the races if it rains. So even if the engines don t really evolve, they still may run on them, but most teams make new engines before every ... She realizes, through interior monologues, that she has been held back, that her station in life cannot and will not afford her the kind of freedom to explore freely and openly the emotions that are as much a part of her as they are not a part of Leonce. Especially Madame Ratignolle, and the way Chopin describes her sensuousness and warmth, would be compelling features it seems for anyone to be attracted to and to want, almost unconsciously, to emulate. Second, the attentive nature of Robert LeBrun is so marked and attractive when compared with Leonce s domineering, controlling, even neglectful ways in which he treats (and does not treat) his family, (but with a measure of trying to placate them as the result of his own selfishness at Klein s). When he wins, he forgets all about the candy and peanuts he promised his children. With Edna, he is talkative, but not attentive. Thus far, I see an ostensibly lethal combination of Mme R and Robert working, however innocently in Edna s life. A more obvious trigger for her sensual nature is Mlle Reisz, who upon playing for her at the beginning, affords that pictures be conjured up in Edna s mind as she plays. These coupons can be traded in for things that help air pollution (free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free tune ups). The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to get coupons, is because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact on the environment. Also getting your car checked out, and fixed soon after your engine light goes on, can improve your mileage by more than 30%. The second part of Greenriding is a car and shuttle system called Greenrides. You can either rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you could rent an individual car for just a few people. To become a member of the Greenrides program, you pay $25 per year. You get the individual car rides for free, but would still pay $10 per shuttle ride. We the car manufactures are concerned that the next generation of drivers will not be educated enough on air pollution. They should be able to learn about air pollution for a small price. Your car is designed to run at an optimal efficiency, however time, distance, and weather, contribute to decreasing that efficiency. Routine ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Technology In The Fertile Crescent Technology, in the form of weapons and transport, provides the direct means by which certain peoples have expanded their realms and conquered other peoples (Diamond 241). In the modern world, weapons seem to define the outcomes of wars. Technology motivates the daily lives of people internationally. Throughout history, weapons and technology have led to major conquests and growths of human civilizations. After 11,000 B.C., technology in the Fertile Crescent developed immensely. Inventions including flint blades for harvesting, baskets and containers for collecting crops, and underground storage pits made it possible for food production to occur. These cumulative developments constituted the unconscious first steps of plant domestication (Diamond 111). Utilizing the further geographical advantage of rich soil, people of the Fertile Crescent leapt into the world of food production. • 22. The Elections Process And The American Election Process For a citizen that follows and contributes to the American election process, one of the most important things to them is that they are being represented properly. The whole reason a person votes in the first place is so that they can be represented in decisions being made within the government. If it were not the job of elected officials to represent the people s word then voting would never happen. This is a hot topic because everyone wants to make sure they are being represented fairly. There have been issues with how minorities, women, and even people of certain beliefs have been represented. This paper is going to focus on the election process and how minorities are being represented in both negative and positive ways. One way that representation can be diminished is through what is called Minority Vote Dilution . Meaning, it was harder for minorities to gain representation (Bowler Segura. 2012.). A way to cause this is through the movement of district boundaries to make the votes unequal from district to district. One way that this happens is through Cracking which is when particular voters are spread among a series of districts in order to keep them as small vote blocs within each seat (Bowler Segura. 2012.). What it really does is cause a certain minority group to seem smaller than they actually are in the population make up. Another way to diminish a groups voting ability is by packing a certain unit of people. According to Bowler Segura this is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Julie Flygare, in her essay intertwining themes in Goblin Market she states that: Rossetti fills Goblin s Market with subject matter and themes that has strong religious associations. There is an important theme of temptation similar to Eve s temptation in the Old Testament. Laura is slyly enticed to eat forbidden fruit, which predictably results in great pain and her lose of innocence (Flygare). Temptation relays the story of woman as falling for the forbidden fruit, which put the world in chaos. Goblin Market can be seen as a hint to Eve eating the forbidden fruit and wrecking humanity. As in Temptation that same dynamic is seen, the woman gets curious and is lured away from good through the lusting of something else, which evidently was the bachelor. Yes, many scholars focus on the feminist aspect of the poem, but the allusion to Eve in the garden of Eden is much more prevalent. Although, Temptation didn t involve fruit, it did however include an aspect that was tempting such as riches, and treasures. It s almost like an individual selling their soul just to get what they want. The sin aspect is definitely portrayed in this modern film, it stills hold that same meaning as to what the poem Goblin Market is trying to denote, which is that sin is everywhere. Plus the idea of women being the main ones involved with sin. Again in the film it made Judith be looked upon as weak, and unable to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
